will u stop rantling rubbish, the htc one is yet to be seen in nigeria/westafrica, xperia x is on stock demandpls stop forming, yes i knw tecno users form too much and use their fones mostly for games,bt u dnt have to form a lie for u to look big pls
note: i aint a techno user,am a sony/nokia b4 u start saying am siding
So everone in the world is a Nigerian. On the same forum that some of you claim blackberry is dead?

Facts will be rubbish for an ignorant mind. So, if a phone is not launched officially here that means you can not use it here. My S2 was the T-MOBILE version. Go figure how I got it. I bought the Z10 before it was launched here, you can figure that out too.

Nairaland so full of ignorant kids that think they know.

And for your big part, some ofyou don't know the kind of people you respondto on anonymous forums. 10years plus experience in IT/Telecoms industry isn't a joke. I bet you are still in school 10 years ago.

Learn to respond to people properly even if you have a contrary opinion

Phones › Re: What's A Blackberry Capable Of That An Android Phone Is Not by rman: 12:52pm On Apr 22, 2013
I will continue to say it that all these TECHNO kids need to validate thier choice of phone by bashing BB.

If Android is great for your purposes, fine, if it is IOS or Windows Fine.

Coming online to rant about BB users preference shows you are pained they have their own click ( especially in Nigeria ), which you don't belong.

It is not everyone that plays games, it is not everyone that watch movies on phone, it is not everyone that buys BB to ping.

But, if I like pinging, why should anyone discourage me from buying the phone with the best chat platform ( BBM )?

We all cant use the same phone. And yes, some buy expensive phone because it just fits their class not because they are not aware there are cheaper ones. Can this same arguement be made for wrist watches? They all tell time shey? So why buy an espensive wrist watch?

Nigerians rant about the number selling IT product in computer village.

I have used all the high end phones and can blodly say the best phones in the world right now are ( not in any particualrt order):

The LUMINA 920
SAMSUNG S3 ( S4 should be better)
IPHONE 5
Blackberry z10/q10
SONY XPERA X
and finally, the newly lauched HTC ONE.

True multitasking, live tiles, smooth OS, phone and data security, Keyboard, camera, fast browsers with flash support, beautiful hardware, clear call reception signal etc are key features of a good phone.

To the techno FANS? Tell me which of the above parameters does your 15k techno do better than BB10? People that can not afford proper game consoles have substituted them with phones. smh

Politics › Re: Inflation Drops To 8.6 Percent, Lowest In 5 Years by rman: 7:26pm On Apr 18, 2013
Inflation rate means prices of goods are still going up. The rate at which it is going up has dropped a little. That is essentially what the report is saying.

To all those saying prices are higher, yes, you are technically agreeing with the report. What all of us can't verify is if the rate has really slowed down compared to previous years as the report implied.

Politics › Re: Jonathan To Commission Steel Plant Thursday! by rman: 9:09pm On Apr 16, 2013
This is a great development if indeed they will produce flat sheets. Flat sheets are needed in a lot metalic fabrication proceses.

Fixing power and Ajaokuta alone will create thousands of jobs that will cut across different sectors.

Although the FG should not claim credit for this.

If Ajaokuta is revived ( which is owned by the government ), then they deserve credit.

This is like the FG claiming the success of MTN, ETISALAT , GLO and AIRTEL in telecoms when only NITEL/MTEL that the government managed that failed.

Nigeria has been tranformed on nairaland!

SURE-P is really working.

The problem is it is only on web pages and reports.

Are we all blind in Nigeria that we can not see untill they tell us it right there in our backyard?

GEJ/PDP agents on nairaland are really trying. I give kudos to them.

It is a close call between the two legends.

I love Sunny Ade when I was very young but as I became more matured, I realised Obey's songs are deeper in contents.

I have a little bias for Sunny, so I will say, he is better

Science/Technology › Re: Nigeria Is Among Science-Lagging Developing Countries by rman: 12:08am On Apr 11, 2013
Rossikk: You need to use your brain and be less agreeable to just anybody's claims on the internet.

Let me give you an example:

Nigeria manufactures cars, buses, trucks, suvs (Innoson). Manufactures complete motorcycles, including principal component parts and engines (Qinggi). Manufactures computers, tablets and accessories (Zinox). Today the world's first and only black built satellite, NigerSat 2 sits in outer space, an achievement of Nigerian scientists. The Nigerian Navy now builds seaworthy vessels from scratch, with 100% local input, like NNS Andoni, a 31m Seaward Defence Boat. The Nigerian Defence Industries builds mortars and RPG launchers, armoured personnel carriers, and manufactures their own bullet proof vests. Nigeria has three functional nuclear reactors. Nigeria manufactures and fabricates aluminium. Manufactures chemicals, including agro-chemicals. Manufactures paint. Manufactures drugs for the pharmaceutical industry. Nigeria processes solid minerals like Calcium Carbonate, Dolomite, and Limestone. I could go on and on and on..

Now, there are many countries that are NOT on that list of ''those lagging behind'', who cannot boast of 1/5 of the achievements I've just outlined.

WHY THEN SHOULD WE ACCEPT THE LIST?

When even YOU don't know what is produced in Nigeria, how will some foreign group not wake up and include Nigeria on any stupid list? They know you don't read or research. That's what gives them the audacity.

I mean, just because CNN and co choose to IGNORE all scientific strides made in Nigeria (afterall is Boko Haram not the only worthy news item?) does not mean WE in Nigeria will pretend we are standing still.
We assemble the parts, we didn't manufacture all you wrote in your quote above.

Localamos: Dont be a sissy... What do you expect people to say? They should adore him because he is the "alpha male"?

Abegi.
You totally missed my point.

I don't expect people to praise him. But calling him a fool, and all sorts shows you all are insecure.

Startng your response with "don't be sissy..." says a lot about who you are.

Why is it so difficult for people to ignore what they don't like.

A simple " I don't think you are handsome", " You are above or below average" would have been ok

Calling him " a dog ", " STUPID" , " Jobless" is a reflection of how unhappy most of the posters on this thread are.
Celebrities › Re: People Keep Calling Me Handsome Guy. Am I Really Handsome? by rman: 9:16pm On Apr 10, 2013
A lot of sadist on nairaland.

All those that criticized and insulted the OP are as insecure as him.

What do you stand to gain by bringing him down?

The best you can do is ignore,

To all those that insulted him, your insults is a true reflection of who you are as a person and not the OP. You all need help.

Getting a good woman with 90% of the attributes of a wife is not beans..you just have to prove that you are worthy of her love...and nothing moves a woman's heart than men that know exectly what they want and go for it despite the hurdles...I will only quit if she is insultive and uncouth..if not..carry on after all bob marley said and I quote "if she is amazing she won't be easy..if she is easy she won't be amazing..if she is worth it you won't give up,if you give up you are not worthy"
If a girl truly cares, she won't play the waiting game for too long.

At times, they don't say yes categorically but give you subtle hints. If you can decipher correctly then you will hang around. Based on your quote above, she has said yes already, only you didnt know.

Regular visits and doing stuffs together are positive pointers if a girl wants to date you.

Politics › Re: Evil-Forces Working To Derail Nigeria - Jonathan by rman: 4:20pm On Apr 07, 2013
MAYOWAAK: And if there is any leader who has consistently manipulated the religious space to derive political gains, it is President Goodluck Jonathan. Many of the dramas about his Presidency have occurred in a church. When his wife, Patience, unwittingly confessed what she had been up to in Germany as regards her health, she did so in a church. Recently, when Jonathan himself was giving a speech about electricity supply and power cut, it was in a church. You wonder why he had to talk about his agenda in a church at all. Why not simply worship and go home? Again, when he and his ex-godfather, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, had to stage their reconciliation, the church was a veritable platform. At least twice now, Jonathan has gone to a prominent Pentecostal church located on the ever-busy Lagos–Ibadan Expressway to kneel before its General Overseer and beg for prayers. The first time, it was shortly before the 2011 elections and the image it produced turned out to be an iconic one; it shows in a simple but powerful manner, the dynamics of the politics of religion in Nigeria. When Jonathan gave his famous I-am-not-a-lion-not-a-Nebuchadnezzar-not-the-Pharaoh-of-Egypt-and-I-cannot-figure-out-I-am-supposed-to-be speech, it was still in a church. It was also in a church that he announced he was not the best but God chose him. When he spoke about fighting corruption, his efforts second only to the US, and which threw people into laughing fits, it was still in a church!!

As if those were not enough, he recently presided over a fundraiser that got a whopping N6bn for his hometown church. One would think that with all the hoopla generated when an Italian construction firm donated a church to his village, he would go easy on his churchy activities. In a country where there are no basic educational facilities, where schools are worse than pig stys, the best he and his coterie of friends could do is to build one more church. At least, Obasanjo, with all his “defects”, raised funds for a library. And to top it all, this week, the President travelled to Enugu to inaugurate, not a specialist hospital or cancer research centre, but a church built by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

It is high time somebody told the President he is overdoing things. We know he must be seen believing in something, regardless of how antithetical this is to his stance on issues such as corruption but as the President of a country that recognises no religion, he needs to deemphasise his religiosity. When he goes to church, he should limit his engagements to worship and when he comes out, he can resume talking about his policies. And politics too.
Well said.

Nigerians are the worst hypocrites on earth. So selective in what we see as good or bad.

Now that it is MTN, it is ok for BH to bomb investments. FYI more than 200 of their base stations was affected in the north last year. More than 60 are still of air for more than 1 year.

No other operator telecoms operator have such a large number affected.

Instead of us to come out collectively and condem evil, they are in support becaue it is MTN.

Are we this terrible as a people?

ozodigboo: You are the one who is lying - abeg free the guy joor.
How can you say the earth's circumference is 40,000km ??
Or that the distance from south to north is 1,100 km ??
I dont really know which Geography book you ve been reading.
I know that the distance from Awka ,[ capital of Anambra state ] to the border between Enugu & Ebonyi states is exactly 100km.
Even when travelling at a steady 100km along ds route, on d expressway, on sundays with less traffic, will prove it.
And these 3 states are the smallest in Nigeria [ in terms of land area ].
Now you want me to believe from port-harcourt, up to benue, plateau , and past the far northern states of jigawa to the border with Niger & Chad is just 1,100km ?
Please, Geographers on NL should help.
Thank you.
Distances in geography are measured "as crow Flies" , you are the one that maybe wrong with the quote above.

By road is completely different from measurement on a straight line.
