Mums is it alright to clean a newborn’s mouth? I’m of the option that it’s okay as is but getting conflicting information from relatives. My LO is just a little over 2 weeks old. What do you guys think?

There's no need cleaning it now. Just 2weeks.

I didn't take dtap and the people at the hospital didn't mention anything like that. I stay at kubwa and just moved to abj.

I went to the health center at the national library in Area 2 and I got meningitis and mmr for 10k and vitamin A and OPV free. They said Dtap is 4000 and PCV booster is 4000, they don't have chicken pox yet. I have someone that works in Asokoro general hospital and found out that PCV booster is free there and they are expecting chicken pox vaccine by the end of the month, I hope this helps.

Imagine the coincidence. I finally got it today at federal staff hospital gwarinpa. Chicken pox was 8500, mmr was 5500, meningitis was 1000 while pcv booster, opv and vit a was 200naira each.

But is it true the chicken pox and mmr is takes in two 2doses cos the woman told me to come in about a month or so for the second dose. That's another 14k.

Where did you read this one? it is a totally wrong information. From 37weeks is full term and no sickness or disease yada yada. Some give birth at 36weeks sef and go home immediately with their babies.

Good morning mama's, I want to ask the following questions. I wil be glad if I get responses. Thanks.

1. My 8weeks old baby nose is always blocked (from birth). He cries atimes and he is always rubbing the nose. I took him to d hospital, they gave him drugs but the nose is still blocked. I see dried catarrh Inside his nostrils every day. Please, what can I apply to make breathing easier for him?

2. My breastmilk doesn't hold my baby so he is on formula. His poop is always hard and he cries and struggles whenever he wants to poop. I feel his pain everytime he poops. Dr said I should give him water but he coughs and chokes on water whenever I give him. What can I do to make his poop soft?

3. What cream, soap and powder can I use for him?. He is 8weeks old and fair in complexion.

4. It's been 8weeks I had my baby via CS. I was cut horizontally cos my baby wasn't lying properly and since then I still look preggy. I'm depressed cos fellow women body shame me. I don't even want to go out anymore cos pple laugh at my belle. Please, what and what can I do or take to have a flatter belle. I need help cos I'm not happy at all. Please.

5. My incision has healed, should I stop applying spirit? The Incision is not flat, I was told to apply Shea butter on it. Can I rub Shea butter on the cut?

1. Use saline water, it will dissolve the catarrh, then u can suck it out. Or get baby otrivin. Do steam inhalation: put hot water in a bowl, add a drop or two of silverbird in it, carru your baby nd let someone cover ou both with a blanket. Also u can apply a drop of silverbird on his bib.

2. Ensure you mix formula according to the instruction on the tin. Water should be yout bestfriend now. You can try giving him warm water first thing in the morning and try not to allow him stay for long without pooing. Allow him poo everyday. I used to dip cotton bud in enough vaseline and insert in my baby bum tp ease poo.

3. I use boots soap. I wont advice johnsons, cussons or nycil. You can try sebamed or aveeno( pple here have testified). At that age, i used olive oil, then later coconut oil. You dont need powder except agnesia for days of heat rashes or any prickly heat powder.

4. Shame on the women for shaming you. We women are really our own enemies. I didnt have cs but even that took long time for my baby to go down. Those with experience will say more or use the search button.

5.no idea. Use search button too. Im certain it has been discussed previously.

Continue with that and apply as often as possible. There's nothing to be done, it will fall off.

Good day Mothers in the house, am an ardent follower of this thread as a father and I must say I have learnt a lot from every contributions here since the arrival of my DD.
Please she is 14months old now and has been stooling ( 4times a day or at d end of every meal except when breastfed)for the past 2days with the presence of green mucus and a little blood(watery). She still eats and play well. No fever ,No vomitting.
Few changes made in her diet:
We changed her milk / formula at the beginning of last week from Lactogen 2 to Nan 3 as Lactogen was not available ( just thinking : could dis could be d cause) ?
Fed her AS Nutty meal 3 times dis week for the first time since she started eating solid.

Could d few changes be d cause? Or could it be something else?

Pls rush to the hospital.

She pooed once, we’ve been to the hospital and we were told there’s no issue as EBF babies can go days without pooing. She eats well, sleep well and doesn’t cry unless she’s hungry.

We got ours at St. Mary's Catholic Hospital, Gwagwalada (costs #10,000). It was for Meningites and 4 others, all given at 12 months.

They never lack any vaccines in this hospital.

Check NISA premiere hospital in Jabi. They have virtually all the vaccines and I've never seen them run out of vaccines since I started using them.

Hello mamas, pls my daughter is a year plus seven month now and we have been struggling wit this persistent cough and catarrh for close to two month. Been to 3 diff hospital, met a paedritrician and its jus a slight improvement I notice after taking countless drugs. The cough usually start at night( let's say 1am to 5am). We had chest x-ray and it was okay. Anyone experiencing this in d house. Any suggestion. Night cough and catarrh that has refuse to go.

When they cough like that at night only, then she is definitely reacting to something on the bed or in the room. An allergy or so. Check bedsheets, pillow cases, pyjamas, dust etc

It is actually not strange at all and very common. Just leave her, she will change or u continue what you have been doing.

But I'm very concerned abt the face especially the whiter part that keeps spreading. Started baby tribotan on doc prescription but it's not changing the whiter part.

Is this just on her face or all over? I feel she is reacting to something. What do you use on her skin and in bathing her? Tribotan usually does the trick for us tho

Daughter's of charity comes highly recommended, but u can also try out federal staff hospital gwarinpa by setraco gate if it's not so far for u. I 've been using them for a while and they have a nice team of doctors and nurses.
