Messyodi:
Good evening mamas,

Please what teething drugs can i get for my baby? I noticed two teeth are out and she poos twice daily . Today I observed her body temperature had increased. Is it the teething or something else.

Ps i am currently on malaria treatment for myself.

Thanks
Use a thermometer to check her temperature, if high, give pcm. You do not need teething drug, issa scam as the active ingredient in most is still pcm.

Pooing twice a day is still fair, you should be concerned about the consistency. Keep her hydrated.

Hello all pls I need help from someone that d child or children has passed through this tonsillitis of a thing, I was on admission with my two year old almost two months back due to highly inflamed tonsils. The temperature was something else even some brand of ibuprofen (u have to get a right brand) could not beat down d temperature. Antibiotics couldn't until they had to give via d veins then after about 5 days he was better and we were discharged to continue with oral antibiotics(one kind brand of cefuroxime) which they gave to us in d hospital. we gave him but the thing is after some days d body started getting hot again we had to go get orelox which was quite expensive but he got better. It's almost two months now but he has started running temperature again and d tonsils are inflamed again. I'm stressed this period as I have issues with bp. Pls is there any home therapy or any way to prevent d tonsillitis stuff? I know about having d tonsils removed but we are just looking at that as d LAST option though. He doesn't go to creche and he hasn't started school. He's mostly at home. We just treated his elder sister of severe tonsillitis though could it be she reinfected him? But with all the plenty antibiotics he has been taking I didn't expect he would catch it so easily. He's been on antibiotics now for 5days and just finished antimalaria but is even getting worse. Pls any ideas?
My son's treatment will end tomorrow. Although ours isn't as serious as you have described. My son started with cough and a high temp, also his appetite has been low for a while and stooling too. We went to the hospital the next day, his tonsils were enlarged, malaria and fbc was carried out. When waiting for the results, the doctor said if the infection was high, then he would need iv antibiotics. Luckily for us, the lymphocytes were not so high, so we got zinnat, zinc for the stool, malaria drugs cos he had 1+ and piriton. Through out all these, he never ran temperature except for the day we took him tp the hospital but upon getting there, his temperature read 36.5.

Maybe you should locate a paediatrician and re-run the test, i doubt if tonsilitis is contagious as it gets swollen due to infection or low immunity as they put random things in their mouths. My son is 16months.

Dear Mamas please from what age do your babies start pre kg/playgroup after creche?
Most schools start at 18months. We just got one for my son as against September, they are allowed to sleep, eat when hungry and they also potty train.

MummyHalo:
Good afternoon mommies. I know I'm not supposed to post this here but I need help and doctors are not taking me serious because I've been married less than a year. Are there any mommies here who successfully conquered low estrogen and progesterone before getting their BFP? I just want to learn from your experiences. Thank you...I can't wait to join you guys.
Check out the TTC thread and direct your questions there. Baby dust.

Thanks for your suggestion dear. Honestly, I don't really understand anything concerning this NHIS. Pls, kindly shed more light on this.
From my enquiry here in abuja, the man told me since i am not a govt worker, the category i fall under would cost 15k or 10k per year. After clearance which takes about two months, my name would be forwarded to the nhis accredited hospital i chose fron their list during registration.

When that is done, i would pay just 10% for drugs and if such drugs is a special drug, i would pay 50%. Same goes for childbirth and some surgeries.

Google to know their address close to you for further enquiries.

Thank u sis. Will make up my mind to go 4 d surgery if d scan shows no improvement.
Have you tried registering NHIS? I hear new names come out every 2months, maybe that could help subsidize the surgery price. Just a thought.

Yes it will, there are loads of people who got PR using NYSC, just ensure the NOC falls between 0, A or B and that's all.
Thank you so much.

Of course! What did you do during NYSC?
I taught in a school while i worked as a customer service rep. I have read up as to how to use nysc as part of job experience, just was not sure if i could use it. Will it work?

Zara01:
Are you currently working? If yes, how many months till it becomes 3 years? Why not wait it out?
No, not working anymore. That's why i wanted to know if i could use my nysc to balance up. I served in 2012.

You can claim point with your NYSC experience and you can also start Eca and start preparing for IETLS since you are close to 3years experience...

Betterstill, a lot of people here has use Nysc and they succeeded....
The thing is i have stopped working( worked as a customer service rep), so it isn't counting anymore. I served in 2012 in niger state, is it still feasible for me to use that as work experience even tho it is in a different field?

Good evening everyone. I am new here and i have read extensively. Pls i need your help. I am married and i've simulated my scores using the tool as the PA ( cos my hubby has never worked b4, he is a business man with a bsc) and my score is 445.

I honestly thought i had 3years work experience which would have put my score to 470 cos i have a masters but it is actually 2years plus.

Pls what can i do to boost my score? Should i do the BCS or should hubby do it instead? Is it still possible for me to use nysc as part of work experience so i can get to 470? Hubby's business isn't structured, no taxes paid but registered.

Pls help, I'm just looking for a way out.

Can you share the meals you make with Avocado. Thanks
You can put in almost anything. I put in his oat, pap. I give it as snack, he likes bread so i sometimes use as spread. I rarely give custard cos it has got nothing but when i give, i either put a fruit puree or avocado. I also put in his cereal too or even beans. When he is constipated, avocado and watermelon juice does the trick for me.

FloraEC:
His menu:
cereals or pap
Cooked custard(milk, egg and custard)
Mashed foods(potatoes(sweet&irish), plantain, banana, avocado pear
Fried plantain(finger size) sometimes he takes it
Ogbono soup without okro(have not introduced semolina yet)
Beans and plantain(I use AS veggie beans)
Fish, spring onion and carrot(blended), I use nutribom rice to thicken it
Any soup/food I'm eating, I always give him
Smoothie(not all the time)
Sometimes we do cereals throughout when I don't have strength
We do basically the same thing then. My son likes his eggs fried with butter, i give him as snack sometimes. Pls how do u make the cooked custard?

How many times in a day do you feed him? I feed 5/6 times a day +finger foods or smoothie(banana, pear and watermelon)
Multivitamin doesn't make baby/adult to add but hungry
Increase his feeding routine and also genes can play a major role in his weight too.
Pls can you list what he eats in a day? Or what his meals are based on? I'm just looking for more meals to add to mine.

Did you add milk and sugar to it?
You don't need sugar. Avocado has a sweet buttery taste, i barely add milk whenever i use avocado in any meal.

I'm clueless about exclusive breastfeeding. Don't even know whether to do exclusive breastfeeding since I produce less breast milk. My baby is 5 days old, how do I produce enough milk.
I use Nestle NAN Optipro 1 . I don't even know how safe it is for my baby.
Nan 1 is safe, just ensure optimum hygiene. Milk production is primarily based on demand and supply, the more your baby sucks, the more milk is produced. Continue putting baby to breast, rest well, drink PLENTY warm fluids, especially water, take oats, pap.

My son didn't even latch till about 6days later and w3 continued exclusive from there. All the best

Uziza and ehuru are seed spices and not leaves .
On how it comes out ? Well, toasted ehuru seeds smells heavenly, then combined with uziza seeds...they're the best tag team .
Using toasted and grinded ehuru seeds alone will do sha .
There's another we use that's similar to dawadawa ,it's called ogiri okpei ...nice also !

You know cooking is about exploring flavours...whatever works for you is fine.
Sorry, i meant seeds not leaves. I know uziza and ehuru very well. Somehow my mum prefers ogiri okepi but i still stick with dawadawa cos i like how it smell when i roast it. Might try out a bit of uzizia seeds next, ehuru will wait. Lol

The ingredients I use for my palm fruit stew are:

Palm fruit
Chicken or Turkey /stock
Fresh scotch bonnet peppers
Onion
Crayfish
Dry fish or stock fish or both
Scent leaves and curry leaves ( my favourite combination) you can use ugu if you want it extra nutritious
Local spice ( ehuru and uziza seeds)
Salt and seasoning
Never put ehuru or uziza leaves in mine. How does it come out? I put dawadawa, smoke it on fire and pound. Might try uziza seeds, not too comfortable with ehuru grin

I innocently asked experienced mummies how they packed their bags and apart from mama Kaffy4..bill that responded, the rest of us ignored(Waka pass sort of) even when she specifically called on some Mamas to 'chook mouth'. If I knew how to go about it I won't be asking. I noticed if one isn't popular on this thread, when she asks questions she's ignored. It's well. Thank you all. My sincere appreciation mama Kaffy4..bill.

But it is really not like that. I wanted to answer but she did justice to your question already, so i didn't see the need.

To be honest, I've never be a fan of pureed food for children older than 8m.
This is because children need to feel different food textures as they go.

Stop puree and start mashing. It's still soft but has more consistency. Then decrease the level of mashing with time till he's eating whole foods.
Have you tried giving him finger foods?
Try with yummy ones like dodo, chicken, fish bits, chicken nuggets etc.
Ok. But my questions are still unanswered tho. I mash them now sorry, not puree. I give finger foods but he takes a whole chunk and basically start choking. He grew teeth late, still has only 4 now but 2 more are breaking out now. Chewing is still new to him.

Moms i need help. My son is 14months and would be starting playpen soon. The ish now is my boy still prefers his food in puree form, he eats everything but it has to be pureed, except for lil qty of spa and semo with ogbono. How do i pack his food pls? He takes his milk too as well as pineapple and watermelon smoothie. He manages ribena and take very little to nothing of biscuit.

Playpen is from 8 to 1pm. Normally between that time at home, he would have had breakfast, one snack and lunch. He eats 4 times a day normally with one or two snack on between.

Abeg help me. Cc zaynie, jazzyjaz, enque etc

Is there any particular why you don't want to register till you are 3months gone? That aside, your case is peculiar and people didn't respond cause they probably have no idea.

I would suggest you see a doctor to rule out any abnormalities, you don't have to register before you see a doctor but then again, you said you are confident your baby is fine, so...........
