it is located at iyana isashi .....
The land is a bit swampy
From quick approximate calculations.

16mm of 1 tonne is OK.

10mm of 50 length is short, I got about 105 lengths using 1200mm raft height and 250c/c (ask him for the raft height and spacing he plan to use - anything less is not ideal)

12mm - what does he need it for? If it's for German floor matt, he shd use 10mm at 175mm spacing and buy 1 tonne.

1by12 by calculation I got about 140 pcs without waste, so buy 160pcs instead of 200pcs.

I'm OK with others...

Note... The workman's quote is sincere. I'll advice you give him the job.

Good morning all, please I need your advice on this, I am a recent graduate of polytechnic and I have complete my Nysc and currently I have been offered a job as a contract staff of access bank with 85k per month and now I have been shortlisted for an interview in a federal university for d post of technologist at the ICT centre of d sch, now I am confused on what to do maybe to attend the interview and drop the banking job I just got not up to a month. As a HND holder how much will I be paid and I was told I won't be able to go further until I spent a certain years.
Please I need Ur advice
Money should never be the reason why... On the long run, the federal job pays more anyway.

My advice... Attend your interview, and don't resign from the bank until you get your employment letter and or 1st salary from the federal job.... Be guided.

Don't waste this opportunity of a lifetime.

Contract staffs in bank is a time bomb

Hey guys I need your help regarding this:

My girlfriend and i weren't on talking terms for a while, six months to be precise, but last week she started talking to me all of a sudden and we kinda shared one or two mutual feelings that led, to sex.

But while she was about to leave, I kind of saw some drugs in her bag, when I asked her the purpose of the drugs she replied that they were for infection.

Meanwhile she previously told me that same morning that she needed some money to threat virginal infection. But one occurent led to one another that made me to suspect her only purpose for showing up was to infect me with HIV or some other STDs.

I don't know what to do regarding this issue but I'm planning on dealing with her if i get to find out she infected me with any STD on purpose...

Need advice guys and girls.
A girl told you she needed money to treat infection and you still went ahead to sleep with her and even so WITHOUT protection..

You don't need advice.. And you shd deal with yourself not her if you're infected.

I hope you're not thou.

Please is this quotation OK for a four bedroom flat foundation?

1ton of 16mm #205,000, 1ton of 12mm #205,000. 50 lengths of 10 mm @1,500= #55,000. 30 ton of Granite #150,000. 2 bundle of Binding wire #18,000. 2bags of nail #16,000. 130psc of 2*3 @ 250= #35,500. 200psc of 1 *12 planks @1,150 =#230,000. 3 sharp sand @ 37,000 = #111,000 . 100 peg @150 = #15,000 Total for materials #1,040,000

Cement not included

Workmanship, pilling, pegin, carpenter, iron bender and casting #400, 000
Where is your land located... Obviously from the quote it shd be Ajah, Lekki or any other waterlogged area.

Can you share the planhuh

Note.. Doesn't look excessive for a waterlogged land.

Good evening every engineer in the house

Can someone explain this to me please
Well.

That's an unpriced bill.

You're expected to quote for it using the detailed explanation of works (on the left) and the quantities (right).

Add your fees, contingencies and arrive at a total sum.

Eg.
Item E.
600mm thick paving stone laid on......... Etc

308m²

The question is how much would you do 1m² of paving block.? Let's assume it's 550 naira per paving block.

Draw 2 lines in front of the table, label the first *RATE (N)* and the second *TOTAL (N)*

under rage write 550, under total write 169,400 (ie 550 x 308).

Do that for all items.

Add your supervision fees, VAT, contingencies etc

*Final Note*

Your rate should include materials and labour cost

For Item F.

1. How much would you charge to produce 1m of Kerbs (you'll be given the design or propose one)

2. The Kerbs must pass a concrete test (cube test) after 28 days to the required strength stated in the bill.. Ie 21Nsqm

3. How much would you charge to install the kerb per meter.

4. Add profit and attendance

5. What's the total cost of production and installation??

Multiply your total cost to produce 1m of Kerbs by 17m (total length needed)

Hi.
If you've gone through my threads, I've always maintained that a chain lintel is a waste of money.

Lintels are not structural elements, it's just a bridge.

Thanks for your response, however, I am using slate and not aluminium or any fancy roofing sheets, so I expect it to be of a lower price in total but was surprised
'SLATE' and ALUMINIUM LONG SPAN requires about same wood..... its only special roofs that require more wood...

the only thing people can check for you (without seeing the plan) is the cost of each wood - You dont need people for that, just walk into any sawmill and find out OR check prices of wood in Nigeria on google..

embarassed embarassed I'm writing this post with a heavy heart

So I'm 21 and I finished secondary school at age 17 (2015) and to be honest I just got admission this year to study pharmacy while my mates are in their final year and it hurts alot because my mum keeps telling me that my cousin is in final year and is about serving next year and I'm just gaining admission to a university, she even uses her friend's child as an example and it made me go into a Little depression, I actually felt sad because for the first time a comparison actually hit me...

She claims they (my parents)are supposed to be resting and not paying school fee. That I'm stressing them and ever since I was a teenager I always vowed that I wanted to leave my father house before 25yrs of age

Now I'm studying a 5 years course (7 years to become a full graduate) and by then I'll be 28 I actually feel ashamed because this isn't what I wanted since I left secondary school
I wanted to finish on time and remove the burden from them

I've never failed jamb, my least Score was 245 but circumstances kept dragging me back

I finished my ND program in 2017 (Distinction in SLT Yabatech)

So it feels more like I'm parambulating up and down and don't know what I want for my self but I actually do!!

I need an advice or something to make me feel better or confident about my self sad
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER - you could be done with schooling at 21 and useless to yourself and parents at 30.....

Any idea how we can resolve the issue? Although her foundation is pretty high though, about 3 blocks above ground as you suggested that was why we were surprised water could get thru the foundation. Could it mean the foundation was not well sand filled and rammed??

Would including a nylon in the German floor stop this kind of stuff from happening in a new building??

Thanks again

I need to start this write up that i met this lady early this year and i had another lady who from my analysis is not so much in love with me so when i finally met this lady, she was everything i desire in a woman, so we started dating and from dating i went to see her sister in Abuja then from Abuja i went to kogi to meet her parent.

I met her family late June 2019. So I work in a blue chip company with a salary of little more than 100k so but i realized the salary won't make me live my dream life so i took a loan from gtbank to buy a car and use for e hailing.

My fiancee was so much supportive that she on her own decided to add like 200k fund so i bought a toyota matix.

So when I gave out the car the people i gave it to were all misbehaving so i decided that i will drive the car, she was so cool and nice that she will do everything at my beck n call.

Now when i went to meet her sister in Abuja her sister insists that we should pick a date meanwhile in may when we were marking her birthday, she told me how sad she was due to the fact that she was marking her birthday and she is getting younger so i promise her then that we will marry this year. I told her in Novermber so we finally settle for a date and the sister spent her money.

Unfortunately for me things were not as i planned in the uber biz, i need a few repair here and then. Now we got days left to wedding and she has been very irrational. She is pregnant for me, each time she visits me, i will beg her, na the cry and cry. How I truly want a happy home.
you're complaining over NOTHING...... I cant seem to understand what the problem is here; Keep faith things would get in the right places

does this include all house fittings?... plumbing, electric?
On low budget means..

Soil is firm not requiring Raft ie strip foundation
You're not selecting the best tiles, fitting etc (best is different from quality - Instead of led light, go for conventional bulbs, Nigerian tiles, etc and instead of 50k toilet seat, go for 15k toilet seat etc).

Offcourse Nigerian cables...

So, 4.5 might just be enough for your foundation if your land is in Ajah..

For standard mix, 10-11bags is needed because one bag of cement will lay 50blocks of 9inches.
Sorry sir..
There's no 1 standard mix in construction... What we have is series of standards.

What you shd have written is USING MIX RATIO 1:X you'll need 10-11 bags (not to assume I didn't use standard mix when I said 9-10)

Eg...what is the standard mix of concrete?
1:1.5:3
1:2:4
1:3:6
Or
1.4.8

Ans: They are all standards... What determines the mix to use is THE STRENGTH REQUIRED OR PURPOSE OF CONCRETE... same for Block.
