my List. 1- Yorubas (Fashion trend setters, becoming more and more the skeleton of modern Nigerian recognizeable fashion) 2- Itsekiris (Extremely fashionable, so much so that a good chunk of recognizable Niger-Delta dressing etiquettes of today actually originated there ) 3 - Igbos (Can be Fashionable when they really need to be, although there isn't really a very distinct signature stamp yet, but the isi-Agu is coming up) 4 - Edos - (Astounding Royalty when they actually DO dress in pure Edo costumes) 5 - Ijaws - (Mostly an Adaptation of medieval, victorian and exploration/discovery age Western clothing (for the men), otherwise they would have been number 4... seriously Ijaw clothes/dress sense doesn't even look that "Native" to West Africa, but they are indeed fashionable... after all, fashion has no borders) 6 - Fulanis / Fulbe - when they wear pure Fulani attires like their legendary conical hats, baggy pants, extremely slim pants, and their female attires.... are just heavenly with all the decorated embroidery and numerous accessories) 7 - Hausas and other Northerners - |
Notchtrend:One would expect that anyone writing such things would at least proof check his assertions before posting. If your post had been pushed to frontpage, your article would have been irreversible. Besides, that was just One example of what is wrong with your writings, not all. How is "Edo mode of dressing not really that different from that of Igbos" like you postulated? Anyone can tell Edo and Igbo ceremonial dressing apart on any given day. Even casually they don't really dress alike either. |
The entire writeup is giving me brain cramps. How can anyone say Edo state is in the East? |
OneCorner:If They descend on you now, you will start crying that you want Biafra. |
lol. What is that Igbo groom wearing? Wrapper with “shine shine” and lace? ![]() Smh... Yoruba no be igbo mate for dressing fashion and events. |
Mowe, Ogun state. |
And this is news.... |
Southern Nigeria alone is way better than Kenya but Nigeria as a whole is slightly worse offf. My 2 cents. |
investnow2013:Read properly, Onitsha is not on the list for free wireless hotspots, it is only on the list for potential street view expansion program. These are the cities for free-Wi-Fi Lagos (of course) Abuja Port Harcourt Ibadan Kaduna. While the following three are to be included in street view with the above listed ones. Benin Onitsha Kano * The rest of Lagos state, meaning Lagos will be 100% |
I love this thread Just look at the level of decorum on the first page... Yorubas are so mature. |
PRESENTATION:Ginuwa was the FIRST son of Oba Olua. Go read the history. |
odigbosky:If that is true then the Olu is categorically senior to the Oba of Benin. Becausr the then crown prince of Oba Olua (Iginuwa) was the one who went to start a kingdom among the Itsekiris. |
fero007:They are not Yoruba Yoruba like that, but they are definitely cousins. |
Not really similar. Only the Northern part bear some similarity. |
fero007:If ikaland is added as Igboland, then adding itsekiri territory with “Yorubaland” is very much in order. Besides, check well, the itsekiri territory has a lighter shade which signifies that it is affiliated to but is not the same as Yorubaland. |
totit:In less than 3 years , a SW state will displace Imo. Mark the date. |
Justiceleague1:Why won't I praise Ekiti, Ekiti is 100% Yoruba and that is what matters to me. Kwara is also 80% Yoruba. Again all that matters to me. Who cares if APC or PDP, Fayose or Langbodo is in charge? ![]() stop your Amebo and go look for ways to revive the declining numbers from Enugu and the abbysmal performance of Ebonyi. |
TundeBricklayer:Who was discussing with you before ogbeni? |
The problems of most Nigerian youth is that majority of them have very very poor analytical skills. It is on full display all over this thread, smh. Our Educational system is in shambles. Abagworo was the only Igbo person in the entire thread that stated this exactly as it is in reality. |
It is as clear as day that Yorubas are leading this statistic and are getting more youth into high institutions. Kudos to Ekiti and Kwara states- I am bot surprised one bit though, especially about Ekiti, one of the least populations but beating more than half other states in Nigeria. Those shouting Imo , lol what is the population of Imo compared to Osun? Kwara and Ekiti even beat Rivers, lol. Rivers Indigenes must be quite few, just like Lagos indigenes. Rivers is filled with many impostors from the South East claiming indigenes..lol |
immhotep:Screen grabs are bae. ![]() Oya take this one for lunch. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/919/42351025004_f06cf2a701_b.jpg |

Postanalyser:What disgrace is more than coming back to collect retirement stipends from the same country you ran away from wearing shimi and a wig? Igbos really need to think hard about themselves. |
Postanalyser:My friend will you keep shut? , Ebonyi is on fire, but here you are wasting your energy on someone you have never met over the internet.Where are IPOB cowards when they are needed the most? ![]() They are not talking because the people they want to annex into Biafra are the ones doing the killing.....Tuahahhaha. Laugh wan tear me for belle. ![]() |
Postanalyser:the same way Fan Kayode is currently taking 30 Million igbos on a jolly ride of stupidity. ![]() the same way Ojunku the bald took you silly folks for a jolly ride which ended in the loss of millions before he snuck away in the dead of night to Abidjan in a blouse and a designer stiletto shoe from Italy. |
Postanalyser:. ![]() keep typing on your keypad while cross rivers finish your smelly mommas in Ebonyi villages. Wetin be my own sef,.. na to carry chair and Asun and be watching drama in 3D ![]() More than 10 persons including a pregnant woman and children have been killed and over 10,000 residents of Igbeagu, Izzi local government area of Ebonyi state have been displaced just as over 15,000 houses were burnt following a renewed inter-communal crisis between the people of the area and their neighbouring Ukelle community, Yala local government area of Cross River state. |
