gg4real: Hi, Has anyone experience this before? My lil brother who is 16yrs and has admission for undergraduate at UPEI has applied for study permit with my mum who is accompanying him purposely to see that he's well settled. This morning we got a message from CIC and we login only to discovered that his application has been updated and his medical review states 'we are reviewing your medical results' whereas he hasn't done any medical test before. Could this be a mistake? Both his and mum's applications eligibility review has commenced. He might have been called for medical in which the system error might not have made it available Let him do medical and send it to them |

makano: Welcome om board. But to tell u the truth many peeps here are not in the state of mind to educate you from start to finish so I will advise you read up from Part 12 to this present page coupled with our research on Google. I bet it with you after doing this you will be better than the gurus here. Peace It baffles me when somebody who wants to face the most rigorous educational system of Canada finds it difficult to research a simple forum like Nairaland. No wonder the VOs see every Nigerian study permit applicant as not being a genuine student |

cychristaa: Hi,
I actually just joined nairaland because of this thread. You guys are so helpful. God bless all of you!
So I have a BSc in industrial chemistry and I just got accepted into U of M for M.Sc food science (Summer). I'm planning on starting my application for a study visa and doing it online. I'm just scared to make any errors. Please is there any advice about whether I should do paper or online, or about any other thing. I know I can read how to go about it on their website but I just want to know form people with experience so I won't rush into it. I'm thinking of doing the online route and they make it look so easy, so I just want to know if there's anything I should note before I start or...
My sponsor is my parents My mum has about 7m in her account while my dad has about 10m. Just graduated (haven't gone for NYC) No travel history No work history, only 6 months internship Almost no anything history
Please, I need your people's help. The school doesn't defer admission so I have one chance to get it right. I already know that God will do it for me but I also have to do my own part.
PS. I know you've answered all these questions before but please don't insult me, I just want to be sure.
Thanks Solidify your SOP with reasonable reasons why you want to study the program in Canada and not Nigeria. Also, highlight the economic and social benefits you and your country would gain after completing your program. Demonstrate the lucrativeness of your program in Nigeria. If your internship is related to your program, highlight those skills you have acquired and how the proposed program would boost the skills you have acquired. Then make your home tie strong. Explain the mother-son bond between you and your mother and how your coming back to Nigeria after your program is sacrosanct. |

A colleague's wife applied in the first week of July. Since her school only has a fall entry, she then decided to withdraw her application in the last week of September. Fortunately for her, she got another admission offer for winter 2019 in another university.she then re-applied for a paper route in mid-October. The good news now is that she was called for medical on Thursday 15/11/2018.
She started in her SOP how she applied initially and how she withdrew her application. She expressed her frustration on how she missed her fall 2018 resumption stating that she was already contemplating of applying to Germany with a stress-free and delay free process since she could not wait till Fall 2019 before she got the winter offer. |

Frankrobbn1: Chief! You self no get joy o! Well to the bolded, Over my existence on this thread, I can only account for one applicant (a very good friend of mine) who got his TRV without being instructed to go for a medical exam. I confirmed his approval to be authentic being that I was in a close contact with him throughout the process and when he finally picked up his passport at the VFS with his visa affixed on his Passport. As I am talking to you right now, he is currently studying in Canada. Therefore, It's not impossible okay, but the possibility of seeing such an approval is very very very RARE
Cheers! I understand your point but let base our hope on the one that is certain Refusal is not a big deal as far as Canada visa is a concern. Is not about being empathetic or not. I have seen somebody with good travel history to UK, USA, Canada, France, Germany and Australia been refused and funny enough, the VO mentioned limited travel history in the GCMS notes. That is Kenya VO for you. So being refused Canada visa is not somebody we will be beating about the bush for. |

Frankrobbn1: The possibility of the bolded is very very rare. If you had linked your application online, you would have known your fate immediately because once a decision is made, a correspondence letter will be updated on your MyCIC account. It is highly impossible for a Nigerian to be approved for study permit without medicals. We shouldn't give ourselves any hope that is not there. REFUSAL IS REFUSAL |

MeinKampf: semantics plays no role in the outcome of your application. A different section handles your mails and enquiries not the VOs. But , it's nice to be polite all the same Even if the VO handles the email. If you have worked directly with these Oyinbos, you will know that they don't do bad belle the way we do here. |

Frankrobbn1: I don't know what July applicants have done to deserve such treatment from CIC. Majority of the July applicants I know are still held and no response till now. If you fall in this category, I'll advice you keep yourself busy with other works and don't limit yourself to Canada study visa. The truth is that the pre-assessment done on them showed that a substantial number of them meet tge requirenent. They are just buying time with them to frustrate them |
