There's nothing wrong with cutting your budget to meet expected revenue. Why should we be spending millions of dollars on movies when we haven't started investing in more fundamental services like power generation? I think it's splendid that we have a system in which you can actually make money from a movie that costs 1 to 2 million naira to produce. This leaves us with capital to invest in more important things.

My family members (wife's in-laws) will have their own homes and we will have our own home, and we will only have to meet during Christmas. It shouldn't be hard for my wife to be nice to them for 24 hours in a year!

Besides, we all hold the idea that a marriage consists of a man and his wife, period.

The general belief here is that scary dreams and funny feelings experienced at night are due to the actions of evil witches and wizards performing 'operations'.

Where did you read that mosquitos can carry and spread HIV? Source, please.

Meanwhile, I'm rushing out to get myself a Mobil/Raid spray to murder the mosquitos in my room.

I know that I chose Nwoke because it means "Man" (does it?)

I know that snazzy loves (or doesn't love) all her admirers equally.

I know that I am tired of server administration challenges that cause downtime.

You're a woman, chinani. It takes a man to judge a woman's beauty! Afterall, we're the ones that want to sleep with them, not you!

Obviously, at the time the decision to use Ajami on the naira note was made, the Hausa population was larger than any other ethnic group that may have deserved special consideration.

One thing that I have noticed is that whether there is "arabic" (Ajami) on the naira note or not, an Igbo man or woman can earn it and spend it with no problems. This is a non-issue.

I am yet to recieve my cheque for 25 billion naira!

It starts like this:
"Ewo, If You Help Me See Ego, Make You Tell Am I Don Go"

How does it continue?

If Nigerian cultural values are superior, then why is our country lagging behind in all sectors? Count yourself lucky that you have a husband who leaves you to run his family as you wish. I would never allow that.

The price is 25 billion naira so I can use the money to start my own bank. When are you paying?

So many people are already in this business. Many Nigerian photographers have gone digital.

A 30 Days movie thread is somewhere in our archives!

How can I accept this as a good idea. Wil you be the one paying people 20 kobo per post?

Thanks. When I saw that error message I was like, "this has got to be a joke!"

My Confession
The changes I made last week to deal with the increased traffic came back to bite me in the ass, and Nairaland was down for about an hour while I struggled to fix it.

I lost my table of members and table of topics, which I had attempted to speed up, so I had to construct those records again from a backup and the table of posts.

I was able to recover all lost topics (excluding detailed information about those topics such as number of views) and the username/email address of members who registered recently and have started posting.

New users who haven't posted will need to re-register. The 233 newest active members will need to update their profiles again. Topics under "Nairaland.com" will need to be moved. Sorry.
