nyameke: btw if some of you have been paying attention you would have noticed a lot of sightings or encounter with the number 11 in your daily lives. we are at the 11th hour of humankind evolution.
Please, I don't understand what you mean by encountering the number 11 daily. Can you kindly sight an example?
CultureRe: Mayans' 2012 Prediction by shevon(op): 4:56pm On Oct 04, 2012
I didn't know people took this (purported) prediction serious. Based on some of your comments, I was able to google articles related to the Mayans and I found one that was a bit detailed (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon) From what I deduced, the whole things is just about human calendar cycles. The December 21st, 2012 date just happens to fall on the last day of the Mayan long calendar, which marks the 5,125th year from the zero date (11 August 3114BC) when the last calendar ended (add 2012 to 3114 and you'll have 5125). I guess some people just capitalized on this ancient practice as to cause so sort of confusion, just like the Y2K frenzy.
CultureMayans' 2012 Prediction by shevon(op): 12:47pm On Oct 03, 2012
I am not that religious neither am I a strong believer of science. But looking at the things that have been happening around the world like the global warming and its resultant effect (which some people argue that it had been foreseen as far back as 20years ago) and also considering what the Bible said (I don't know if the Holy Qur'an mentioned anything about it) about the end time, should we also not be taking the prediction of the Mayan's about the world ending by 21st Dec, 2012 seriously? I am not posting this to scare people or have some people throw insults at each other or myself, I just want us to reason along the line of logic. Your comments please.
PoliticsRe: Patience Jonathan Yet To Stabilise - Hospital by shevon: 10:32am On Sep 20, 2012
thelastPope: Now I see why Nigeria is what it is. We have such a massive collection of ignorant and backward people.

Doctors or hospital staff do not discuss patients issues with third parties. All these newspapers just keep talking trash and all you ignoramus in NL keep displaying your stup1dity.

Even if she is sick, no hospital staff will discuss her condition or give out any such information to press men. It just beats me how ignorant Nigerians are.
True. But is it impossible for someone at the Embassy divulge such info to the press (since the hospitl communicate to the govt throught the Nigerian Embassy) and plead that he finds a way of deflecting the source? These things happen, so watch what you write sometimes. I'd rather I don't make a comment than call others fools only to realise, at the end of the day, that I was actully making a fool of myself.
RomanceRe: Why Is It Almost Impossible To Meet Nigerian Men At My Financial Level? by shevon: 3:05pm On Sep 15, 2012
desari: Nairalanders,

I am a career woman in my late 20's living in the U.S. It has been almost impossible for me to meet good Nigerian men much less Nigerian men at my financial level. As you all know the U.S is very big; i generally don't hang out with Nigerians..not that i don't want to, i just don't know where and how to go about meeting up with my people. When i do go out to naija lounges or clubs in my area, all i find are little kids playing around or 419ers( which i would rather remain single than have anything to do with them). I have tried the church avenue, but i am catholic, and catholic churches in the U.S are much different from naija catholic churches. I live in NYC, so anyone that can give me pointers on where to meet eligible professional Naija men would be great.

I have been very blessed and fortunate in my chosen career, and i would want a partner that can pull his own weight financially in a relationship. Though i have accepted that i would most likely do much better than a potential partner, i can never respect a man that would find it hard to give me money to cook food in the house and take care of some bills, instead of assuming i will take care of it since i make much more. Akatas and white men chase me all day, but i would rather settle down with a Nigerian man(preferably yoruba) i am half yoruba and half something elsesmiley I grew up in naija, so i speak yoruba and can cook naija food well well.

Let me add that i am well mannered and come from a great family. Guys and girls, if you have single brothers who are financially stable, between 29 and 35 years old looking to settle down, please IM me. Thanks!
Take my advice: Marry an oyinbo you feel is on the same financial level with you. If you are looking to marry a naija guy (with all this things you've listed and with the obvious k-legged attitude you have depict above) you go reach 40 begin beg for anything whey get winky to take you as a wife.

jmoore: I know what i want. I like new things thats also one of the reasons i want to marry a virgin. I won't put my thing where another man has , if you understand what i mean. About the pain of my wife will experience during our first sex? It only happens once then we can enjoy eachother. I am a christian so don't even think you can deceive me. I am a virgin and will marry a virgin, period!
You better go to the village and cultivate one for yourself cos I know a lot of them (virgins) that can tell you (from their own personal experience) what it feels to loose virginity; some of them (virgins) even have children angry

Read the post again, it says the dog is as tall as 7ft if it stands on its hind legs, not when standing on all four. That means the woman is between 4.7fts and 5.2fts

Online store my winky. Those people I bought something from and because I used a gift voucher that gave me a discount of N1,500 on the product I wanted, they told me that the product was no longer available after a week of repeated calls and emails to them. They should step up their game before changing trash. angry

papa giddy: can someone goggle mr tijani yusuf and get his phones numbers and get him on phone for?
Corrupt gov officials don't put their profiles on the net for you to easily reach them or know anything about them. We know how these things work. Even the CBN governor, SLS, who published extremist write-ups on the internet removed it immediately before he became CBNG. So, you see, you will never get TJ's details if you search the www.
IslamRe: Muslim Group To Form Shield Of Protection For Churches On Sunday by shevon: 6:39pm On Jun 25, 2012
Why don't we give them the benefit of the doubt. At least the report of what they did was not bad (they actually went to stand at some church). We should all try and give peace a chance.

Car TalkRe: Why Do Nigerians Dislike Nissan Cars? by shevon: 11:50am On Jun 22, 2012
I use a 1987 Nissan Bluebird GLX (2.0) and it still rocks. Aside the shock absorbers and the gasket I changed sometime in 2010(plus break pads which I change occasionally and the usual fuel and oil filter which one has to change when servicing it), it is still rolling with all it's original parts. I'm finding it difficult to change. If only Nissan can come up with another rugged Bluebird anytime soon...

Sanguine77: In as much as I do not support armed robbery, injustice anywhere is unacceptable. This guy stole N2105 only in 2005 and has been in detention without trial for 8 years. When finally his case gets a nod, they give him the noose. Lopsided judgement, perversion of justice, criminal negligence, unacceptable ruling and ungodly judge.

Because of these, I recommend to the peoples court that this stupid judge be sentenced to 80 strokes of the cane and amputation of both hands.

If you support this judgement say "aye".
Aye! (A billion times over!)

If anybody I know in this country is caught for stealing, the amount must run into billions of USDs. If not, I'll beg the judge to allow me deal with the person in the open court room there. I swear, I go dice the person with machete!!!

Technology MarketAirtel Has Started MTN Mode Of Airtime Robbery! by shevon(op): 6:10am On Jun 01, 2012
I had over N170 airtime on my phone yesterday before I loaded N1,500 to renew my BIS that cost N1,400 (meanwhile, I'd made other calls earlier in the day that reduced my airtime from N400 and something to over N170); after I renewed my BIS, I was left with above N270 and between that time (3:30pm) and now that I'm posting this I only made 55secs call to my wife (which is less than N6 cos she is my sim partner) and a combination of two calls for 1.04 seconds (which is about N12.20k) and right now all I have as balance on my account is N0.04k . Who chop the rest if not airtel? I've call the customer care centre and they all keep telling me their application is not working to check what transpired on my account.
I beg, we get consumer protection commission at all for this country and how do I reach them if we do?
PoliticsRe: Oppressed/Molested By Nigerian Police? Share Your Story Here by shevon: 6:43pm On May 31, 2012
Mine happened today. Immediately I came out of my optician's office at Nuru Oniwo Street in Aguda, Surulere I noticed a commercial (yellow and black striped) bus slowly moved out of where it was parked and was driving behind me. My mind just go say na kidnappers; so, I tactically stopped at a junction where people where and pretended I was waiting for a bike. just as I stood by the road side the bus cleared in front of me, the door opened and one of them said they were policemen and demanded to know what was in the small nylon bag with me; I told them it was the drugs I got from the hospital (forgetting I put both my cell phones in the bag cos it was drizzly went I got out) but they insisted I hand it over, which I did. When they inspected and saw the phones, they took it out and handed the drugs back to me. Then they started searching through my phone while I watched on. A little after 3mins, they handed over my phones and drove away without any form of apology. Which makes me want to ask: Am I paying my tax for their salaries to be paid so as to assist them to harass me? Why are they not always pro-active when they get info on identified criminals?
Na wah for this country and the type of police men we have.

The light in my area is so wonderful that we've not seen it in the past two months. PHCN is working tirelessly to see that we have light so much so that they are demanding for 80k to connect the transformer that we contributed money to buy (and also got a PHCN contractor to install) to the high tension. While all these are happening bills have been unstoppable! GEJ administration has been performing.
