Religion / Re: Pst Chris Oyakhilome And T.b Joshua Are Secret Agent Of The Devil by shinystar(m): 11:56am On Oct 24, 2008
Thanks for confirming my stand on both of these ministers. As a Journalist, I have had much to do with them and can confirm they are fake. Oyakhilome missed it big time while Joshua is always a charltan.

I only pray their members see the light and get out before they get to hell.

Bolubunmi,

No, God himself removes all inhibitions and says we can live the way we like. What that means is he is not going to record the sins against anybody's name and the period will pass as if nothing happened. No repercussions, no scars, no condemnation. So, don't play holy. What will you do?

Thanks for the info. I am a registered member of Constant content but have not really made anything out of it.

How much have you made personally? What are the simple steps to becoming a paid online writer?

If God were to offer us a free airtime to do anything we want within the next 24 hours without him taking it against us, what would you do?

I asked a friend yesterday and he said since it wouldn't be a sin for that period, he would rob the Central Bank of Nigeria. Another said he would sleep with his fiancee who he has been keeping for the past five years in a Christian engagement.

Coming to you, what would you do?

Religion / Where Are Nigeria's Yesteryears Preachers by shinystar(m): 10:16am On Sep 25, 2008
They once dominated the Christian landscape in Nigeria. Thousands filled their churches and worship centres. But now, they are no longer pulling crowds or getting recognition. Where are these yesteryears' movers and shakers of Nigeria's christianity?

For now, I recall Anwuzia of Zoe, Rev. Iyanda, the first Nigerian preacher to buy a private jet, Bishop Elomobor and others.

Let's have their names and what is happening to them now.

Father, let the healing balm from Gilead touch her. May you restore her to perfect health. We rebuke every grip of the devil over her and ask you to take over Father. Thank you for answering us in Jesus name.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Contract Job At Bank Vs Staff Job At Media Organization? by shinystar(m): 12:34pm On Aug 20, 2008
I have been working in the print media for eight years now. I admit some don't pay as at when due but mine do(I work with The Nation). I was in places where they did not pay but I left.

Being in the media is exciting. I could leave because I had paid my dues. Aside salary, you could make money from advert commissions and gifts from satisfied clients. Most media workers end up making thrice their monthly take-off. I do and can confirm this authoritatively.

So my advice: Go for the media. One, you will build contacts that could help you much later in life. I meet people who have become my beneficiaries in an incredible way. Two, money won't be a problem once you are good at your job. Three, you can move to other sectors easily as Journalists are known to be versatile. But eveything boils down to her passion and career goals.

Olabowale,

You are nothing but a religion jingoist. You muslims say what you would not accept from anyone because we are given to peace. I hate to join issues with people like you. In any case, you should not be on this thread because it has nothing to do with you or your religion.
Religion / Re: Somebody Help Me Plsssssssssss by shinystar(m): 7:58pm On Jul 02, 2008
I have read all the advices so far. But I must say only God can help though there are measures you can do, and they have to be drastic because it's difficult to stop once you have started.

I appreciate your courage to confess on this forum and ask for help. That means you can do what I want to suggest: Find a trusted, mature Christian around to confess to. Let him or her watch after you and your boyfriend. Why not meet in his/her residence rather than somewhere sex can be easy to do?

I am engaged too and almost defiled the bed lately too. I have found the Deeper Life style of having someone around whenever both of you meet is fine after all. I used to criticise it but I am adopting it in my courtship henceforth.

By all means. we must FLEE otherwise we'd be in trouble.

Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by shinystar(m): 4:30pm On Jun 21, 2008
I respect Pastor Adeboye but I dare say he did not handle his closeness to OBJ and other government officials well. Did he tell the former president the truth or he was just enjoying the euphoria of having OBJ's ears? During the third term campaign did he care to tell OBJ he was riding against the coast? Or was he one of the general overseers relating with OBJ to secure licence for their church universities? When OBJ visited redemption camp did he bother to tell him bitter, home truth or he was busy celebrating him, giving him the podium to address pauperised Nigerians?

These are questions we should honestly and dispassionately ask Daddy Adeboye irrespective of our denominational biases.
Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by shinystar(m): 7:04pm On Jun 20, 2008
Dolapokay,

This is not about doubting miracles but verifying some of the claims made by men of God. Nobody is saying God is not a miracle worker; He sure is. But some of His ministers make claims that we should not always believe or accept at face's value.

I am agahast we keep asking those who ask for scrutiny to watch their utterances.

Please, let us not put off our thinking caps when we go to church
Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by shinystar(m): 4:09pm On Jun 20, 2008
Fyneguy,

Not really. But it wouldn't change anything If I do. I only insist we don't believe everything we hear in church from men of God hook, line and sinker. let us subect them to the word, common sense and scrutiny. My position is as simple as that.
Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by shinystar(m): 3:53pm On Jun 20, 2008
Why are we mistaking questioning with abusing? I am against abusing people, not just men of God. Some of the respondents have made it look like it's right to abuse others and spare men of God.

But even men of God misbehave and there is nothing wrong calling a spade a spade in that circumstances. The bulk of men of God in Nigeria are missing it and we don't need Jesus to tell us that. In case you don't know many of them cannot hold up government officials to scrutiny because there are damaging security reports against them. That they still perform miracles does not invalidate this fact. A miracle worker may be on his way to hell. Didn't Christ say many of such people will be turned back that day?

I believe in miracles. I experience it daily but we can always query spurious claims, by anybody even men of God. Let us not be blindly loyal to anybody but God. Some of these leaders can do better if we dare to question their actions and motives.

I support scrutiny but not abuse or destructive criticism.

Let's get rolling
Religion / Re: Some Of Pastor E.A Adeboye's Testimonies by shinystar(m): 10:29pm On Jun 19, 2008
My problem with Nigerians is they tell us not to query religious things. Please give me a break. Let us hold our church leaders to accountability. If we can't we have no business asking government officials for accountability. Or are they less human?
Crime / Re: Pastor Murders Wife Over Girlfriend by shinystar(m): 5:39pm On May 09, 2008
The topic of the thread is 100% correct. If you studied Journalism, like me, yuo will know an headline must be catchy and strong to attract attention.

Oyakhilome is popular and so the inclusion of his name is just to get attention. I am sure many people read it because they found the headline curious. It's by no means an indictment of the jerry-curled preacher who has been battling with too many scandals lately.

You made me laugh. How can you mention businessmen on pulpits as holiness preachers. You mischief is noted though
Religion / Re: Is Pastor Kumuyi Our Best Holiness Preacher? by shinystar(m): 8:27pm On Apr 24, 2008
I vote for Kumuyi. Even Gbile admits he is his father. I like Gbile but he is too docile. Kumuyi has been around for years without any blemish. He has preached holiness for decades without fears. I think he deserves the credit. That is a record waiting to be broken.

You are the poorest and the most arrogant salesperson I have ever come across. People asked simple questions and you can't offer objective, rancour-free answers. How do you hope to sell?

You have just killed a good initiative with your attitude.
