Dansunfun,

Your story is pathetic. See how people are fanatical about church. Can you provide further details for us to evaluate the sack.
Politics / Re: Nuhu Ribadu: A Villain Or Hero? by shinystar(m): 3:40pm On Jan 18, 2008
A Villian for shielding OBJ and his cohorts from prosecution.

I admire the gut with which he went after people but who wouldn't with an OBJ's support .
Politics / Re: Ribadu Is No Longer Welcomed In Aso Rock (confirmed)! by shinystar(m): 12:51am On Jan 05, 2008
My view is in tandem with that of Big 1B. I believe Ribadu was just a prawn in the hands of OBJ. Otherwise why did we not know about the petition against Iyabo until few weeks ago? Yet, it was received in October 2007.

Let us face the truth: Ribadu was fighting OBJ'S enemies, many of whom, i ADMIT, WERE CORRUPT anyway. Obj only exposed them after having a fill with them.

If Ribadu is a good leader, why is he reluctant to leave EFCC? Why not build others to continue his good works, knowing he won't live forever?

Why has not not probed Bode George despite the convincing evidences against him? Why not Akala who is known to be tilling with the state treasury with Adedibu? Why not Oyinlola who has stolen Osun dry? Friends, let us face it Ribadu's EFCC fought corruption selectively.

I believe Yar' Adua is right with his due process campaign for fighting corruption. Don't fight a thief in such a way that hundreds of others will go undetected. Install a system that will arrest all and keep them out of goverance. It may be longer but it is better for Nigeria.

Ribadu should go. Only then can we be sure the anti-corruption war is genuine, if it is sustained.

Mr Brown,
Your are damn arrogant. Just who do you think you are anyway?
Politics / Re: Obasanjo's 8 Years Tenure Will Not Be Probed - Presidential Aide by shinystar(m): 10:47pm On Jan 04, 2008
We should not forget that even OBJ did not start the anti-corruption until mid-way into his first term. Yar' Adua is a Fulani, most of whom are noted for tough decisions. He will act as soon as he has consolidated. I have no doubt Obj will be probed. It is only a matter of time.

Travel / What Country Will You Like To Visit? by shinystar(m): 4:21am On Dec 22, 2007
I have heard and read so much about many countries. I have been to a few but Canada holds the strongest fancy for me.

I like to see Canada and the snows. I heard half of the country is unihabitable. Yet, I will like to just see why.

What about you? What country will you really like to visit? Why?
Travel / Re: Nairobi Photos (kenya): A Beautiful East African City by shinystar(m): 3:57am On Dec 22, 2007
So don't we have finer places in Lagos, Calabar and Abuja? wHY CAN'T WE FOR ONCE APPRECIATE OUR POSSESSIONS?

All those who said Kenya is more beautiful had better let go of their Nigerian passports/ We are tired of residents who don't believe or see anything good in the country.
Travel / Re: Lagos: The World's 5th Worst Place to Live In by shinystar(m): 3:51am On Dec 22, 2007
Elosela,

Those pictures are mischievious. There are such sights in all parts of the world. Do they highlight such slums? No. Why? Because they deliberately project good national image. Why not advertise the good sides, not the bad of Lagos?

My only problem with Nigerians is we supply western propagandists with materials to run us down. It is not patriotic and nationalistic.

Let us join hands to stop this current listing of Nigeria in every worst project in the world. there is no country like Nigeria.
Travel / Re: Mind-boggling Nigerianphobia Tales in South Africa, Bellview Airlines intervenes by shinystar(m): 3:40am On Dec 22, 2007
Wany,

You are such a big let down! How dis you collate the fact that 40% of the criminals in S/A are Nigerians. It is people like you that keep supplying the outside world with wrong information about us. Everyone knows South Africa has the highest crime rate in Africa. Is Nigerians account for most of them how come we witness fewer crimes back home?

Nigerians like you make me cry. Why continue to justify the tag that we are criminals?

I feel like invoking the gods of Nigeria to strike you down.

VicJustice,
Thanks for the good write-up. It is sad that Nigerians are so good at criticising that they won't learn when they should. The man has told us his worldview, which he is entitled to anyway. If you are wise, you will pick whatever is helpful and move on.

But I will advice VicJustice that you don't always have to reply critics. Silence is always golden. yOU KEEP reacting to their views and I think you should watch that.

Once again, thanks for the info. i have travelled out of the country and agree with most of what you said.

Business / Re: A Driver Returns 18 Million Naira by shinystar(m): 3:55am On Dec 15, 2007
But the driver couldn't have possibly made up the story, did he?

The issue here is a Nigerian returned a lump sum of N18million and we should celebrate for once that we have a citizen doing the opposite of how the western media have protrayed us.

It's not his fault that the owner took a cab and not an helicopter. We should celebrate him first and blame the owner. That is my point. thanks.
Business / Re: A Driver Returns 18 Million Naira by shinystar(m): 3:38am On Dec 15, 2007
Tupix and co,

I see you guys are used to crooked Nigerians that you don't believe some of us can be honest. It beats me why we parade ourselves as dishonest before the world. I put it to you that Americans are more fraudulent than Nigerians.

Now we have a good example of a Nigerian who did something right and someone has the gut to query his motive. Pupix even said that did not make him sincere and honest. If it does not, how do we describe him then?

I don't know about you but I am proud to say I am honest and under no circumstances will I cheat or defraud others. There are millions of me out there and we need to get the word to the world that Nigerians are not rogues. Each time I travel, I feel sick the way they perceive us and I realised we also hold the same view about ourselves. It has got to change to earn our deserved respect.
Religion / Re: Pastor Chris To Storm Abuja December 11-15 At National Stadium by shinystar(m): 11:54pm On Oct 26, 2007
Must we celebrate vanity just because we want to celebrate our own?

I am sure the funky pastor will milk Abuja residents dry and perhaps teach them how to have jerry curl hair.

Please warn him not to despoil our dear National Stadium. The Surulere complex hasn;t recovered from his several crusades there.

Praise the Lord Somebody!
Religion / Re: Bus Preachers Who Collect Offering by shinystar(m): 4:29pm On Oct 23, 2007
I am disappointed by those who see nothing wrong in bus preachers collecting offering. Have we become so spiritual that we can no longer draw the line between illegality and spirituality? How on earth can someone asking people to accept Christ solicit money from those who have not accepted the gospel? The way it is going, very soon, people will make a career out of this tax-free venture called bus evangelism.

If you must preach in a bus, you should only appeal to people to accept Christ. Conducting deliverance or anything else there is out of place. Many of these people just laugh off the gospel, dismissing the preachers only as after their money and not souls. How more commercialised can the gospel be? I am almost weeping. This is why this country is where it is. People making money from preaching in buses. It is so
sad and disheartening.

When is the offer closing? How can I invest in the offer? Thanks for prompt response
Religion / Re: Bus Preachers Who Collect Offering by shinystar(m): 12:13am On Oct 20, 2007
Thanks for this thread. I have been irritated by the practice myself. These days when someone stands to preach in my commercial bus, I feel sick. It made me look sometimes like an anti-Christ.

I feel suspcious and get justified when they ask for contribution. May God truly save us. I used to preach too in buses but never asked for money. I don't see myself doing it again as I feel very ashamed by the attitude of our fellow preachers. It is really a shame; a big let-down.
Religion / Re: Can You Attend A Church Led By A Woman? by shinystar(m): 12:10am On Oct 20, 2007
I kept quiet all along to digest the various views to the thread I started. Have you noticed most female leaders had scandals? Remember Katherine Khrumna? Anointed as she was, she married someone's else husband. What about Juanita Bynum, who two months ago was brutalised by her husband? What of Paula White who left his husband to start another church? I could go and on but know I stand the risk of being called a chavunist. I have tremendous respect for women but realise they were not created to led. They can assist and do anything else but lead.
Religion / Re: Your Most Grievous Sin! Strictly For Honest Christians by shinystar(m): 9:41am On Oct 11, 2007
Notice most sins bother on sexuality. Think there is something the devil is up to with this weapon.

I am getting blessed and want to say for every confessed sin, there is forgiveness. For every casting down, there is a lifting up. The essence is to put the devil to shame and say to his face, "I once failed but God rescued me. Now I am free from your yoke, heading to heaven and there is nothing you can do about it".

I am also shocked not many people have signed up. Could it be we are covering our sins or so pure they have no iniquities in them?

Let's just fire on!
Religion / Your Most Grievous Sin! Strictly For Honest Christians by shinystar(m): 4:41pm On Oct 04, 2007
This thread is only for honest Christians who feel strongly about putting the devil to shame.
Well, we all stumble in this race. Which do you consider the dirtiest sin you ever committed. Let us feel free please the word says to confess our sins to one another.,

As for me, It was sleeping with a lady who seduced me. Men, it hurts, even now. It took me months to forgive myslef and get on with the race.

What about you?
