Naira card limit for international transactions is $20 a month starting next month �

UBA international spending limit on naira card hits record low — $20 per month

United Bank of Africa (UBA) says it has lowered the international spending limit on its naira cards to $20 a month.

The financial institution disclosed this in an email sent to its customers on Thursday.

According to the bank, the naira card limit will only be available via web purchases, adding that the service will not be available on POS and ATMs.

Before now, customers could spend up to $100 per month on naira cards for international transactions.

The bank said the review will take effect from March 1 2022.

I made a post about month ago on Nairaland about my landlord , he gave me a quit notice when my rent is yet to due, we have not been in good terms, I was rest assured that I still have three months left so no need to panic,I got home now and saw carpenters removing the roof of my apartment with two abled young men which I haven't seen their face before, the roof of my apartment has been removed now, I went to the nearby station to lodge a complain but I was told the man had come earlier, and told the police has giving me quit notice that he wants to renovate his house,it's really a hard time for me and my siblings, getting a quick accomodation,he never informed us of renovating the apartment, I just lost my job last week and this is happening to me again.

My life is in a mess right now as I don't know where to start from, this is just a challenge for me and I will stay stronger and fight this battle till the end, probably God is preparing me for a better place ahead....

A placard with the inscription, “I can’t pay N250,000 for school fees, I nor wan do ritual” has been trending on social media after students of Delta State origin took to the PTI roundabout in Effurun to protest against hike in school fees across tertiary institutions in the state.

Recall, Focus Naija had reported that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s personal phone numbers were leaked to the public over the school fees increment.

Also leaked were the phone numbers of the Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Patrick Muoboghare, Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka and that of his counterpart at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro.

Widespread condemnation has trailed the sharp increment of school fees in recent time. Student leaders and stakeholders alike have expressed displeasure with the state government demanding that education is a right and not a privilege.

According to Counsellor Dennis Agori, an educationist and author, the school fees increment is too much to bear.

In a video shared on his timeline, he said government must take back the decision as it is against the social contract of leadership reached with the people.

It is against the social contract of leadership not to listen to the people you lead and nativity to keep silent as a people when pressed against the wall.
