Goodyness:This is not the right time for Nigerians to buy fuel for 800 naira per litre, the spiral effects on other sectors of the economy will make the inflation uncontrollable. The aftermath hardship is better imagined, and there's no guarantee there wont be another wave of violent protest. Nigerians are very angry. A sensible govt will continue the subsidy even if partial for now- its not like they will use the subsidy money for anything sensible, pending when Dangote refinery comes on board. That's the only pragmatic way out. Nigerians are very angry, their limit of endurance should not over-stretched. |
MrWood:Leave Peng guys, they broke the rule and they already punisdhed. The question is when are they going to jail the CEO of western union or moneygram, except u telling me they can defend all transfers sent down to Africa including those sent to internet scammers. |
HazzanTazzan:if fintech cannot operate finanacial transactions, what are they licensed to do? what is interswitch doing in Nigeria? |
wiseoneking:Leave story, America is fond of using their long arm of the law and dollar hegemony to arm twist undesirable competitors into total submission. That was how they destroyed the french energy company Alstrom and jailed the ceo for crimes not commited on us soils. It always come down to money laudering and wire fraud claims with vague interpretations. They tried that nonsense with the daughter of huawei just becos they wanted to destroy the company, china retaliated instantly and made it clear they will never succumb to hypocritical usa laws designed to destroy competitiors. That guy is right, if those boys were jailed for laudering money to Nigeria, then CEOs of moneygram and western union should be in eternal jail. Do u know how long yahoo boys have been using those money transfer agents to destroy people's life? Do u want to tell me moneygram can defend and explain all transfers made to Nigeria. Besides, who is helping Nigerian politicians launder their ill wealths abroad. Nigerian and Russian politicians are well known in uk banking halls as harbinger of huge funds for deposits, america will never investigate those ones. I'm not exonarating the Nigerian Peng guys, they should know better, whoever choose to dine with the devil should have a long spoon- the global coporate world is a shark, a dog eat dog world. But to think western world mean well africa is a fallacy- OPEN YOUR EYES. |
Raalsalghul:single and less than 25 yrs or just after graduation. |
theamazonguru:If u are truly saving 400k per month and I not a professional in tech or healthcare industry, u have no business relocating overseas. Take it from someone who believes legit travelling out is a good decision for youngsters. |
MT:I will ignore your comment on my country of residence. But lots of Nigerians who relocated back home from abroad without a strong footing or conenction all ran back after few months and pound/dollar don finish. Only those who stay back are the well connected or those who came home to retire. In the uk, the narrative for naija immigrants is changing. There's a strong middle class community with lots of healthcare professionals, IT guys, lecturers, professionals who work in logistics and financial companies. These are the group we talking about. I was in Turkey 2 month ago, there were sizeable Nigerian tourists from western countries with their families in the 5 star hotel I resided. I was impressed. Young families at that. I dont know where he got majority of Nigerians are suffering from. Travel to USA and see what nigerians are doing. 100k per yr is no big deal among Nigerian professionals in the usa. Its early days for nigerians in canada, but I'm sure in 5 yrs time, they will begin to advance in their respective careers. It's not a must u fulfil your dream in Nigeria. allow those who wants to relocate albeit legally do so. personally, its worth the effort. |
casualobserver:Ticket to from lagos to london is 500k, that's what u want to use to start business in Nigeria? I laff in buhari's style. From your comment, I absolutely agree with you that u are very privileged. U dont know anything about street life in Naija. You probably came back to a nice apartment in ikoyi, have the right contact and connection to get you the a cool effortless job. everything is at your beck and call. sorry, we are not talking about people like u. Someone like u shouldnt have left naija in the 1st place. upper class dont relocate anywhere in the world. relocation is mainly a middle class affair- be it africa, china or india. These are the people who needs extra space to see road clearly- something western countries offer. |
casualobserver:Don't discourage those who want to go with your cynical negative comments. U talk as if 100k is easy to earn anywhere in the world. How many people even boast of that as salary in Nigeria. Ironically u are more likely to earn 100k per year woing abroad than in nigeria. I encourage those who wants to leave to do so albeit legally. The only ones I will advice to exercise caution is if u earning more than a million per month OR more than 500k in a well established institution OR u are involved in graft within govt agency. There are some things u won't discover about Nigeria itself until u travel out. A friend of mine is trying to develop a food delivery app for Nigerian food sellers. He got that insight while working on similar app in uk. He's presently trying to attract funding for his app. There's nothing worth staying in Nigeria to build hope. U can build your build your hope and dream everywhere. |
Ukwunu:Which business...u talk as if it's easy. He will waste his money on some venture and return to square zero. Business in Nigeria is not for the faint heart at all. It's better he use the money to runs a masters program in uk and pick up from there. |
GogetterMD:Guy leave story. It's either the story is a lie or the bank manager is an illegal. With her banking experience she can easily get a teller retail job in any financial institution. We live her and know how it works. Enough with all this story of someone coming here to wash plates. It's becoming stale n boring. |
chiol:Let the union finish the country finally. Sebi unitary system if govt is best for the country, then let the almighty FG handle everything. Unless we restructure this country, it is inevitably destined for collapse. |
thebosstrevor1:Guy where did I exonerate men. Read my first post on this topic. I admit BLACK MEN including YOU AND I have failed woefully to build a prosperous civilisation. I just emphasis that women cannot be exonerated esp in the naija case. The Nigerian problem is beyond poverty. We are not the only poor country in the world. But Nigerians both men and women will do ANYTHING EVIL for money. Nigerian mothers too failed. |
thebosstrevor1:Fathers build responsibility, physical and cognitive strength, discipline, motivation, career mindedness. He acts as the counselor and role model. Mothers lay the moral fibres foundation. Both are needed to build a healthy individual with a right mindset to contribute positively to the society. Look at our society, our moral fibre is messed up. No compassion or genuine care. That's why people don't think twice to harvest human head for money or burn a soul for insulting a religious person. Mothers too have failed to raise good sons. They should not only blame the fathers. Everybody should look into the mirror including the op. |
thebosstrevor1:who raised and groom children? Is it not the woman. who impacts the positive character into children? moral fibres needed to contibute positively to a society. Do u know why most Nigerians take religion seriously albeit hypocritical? because our mothers dont joke with church. |
You are right though that present generation black of men have failed to build a properous civilisation. But remember its the black women that birth and raise the black men. So their failure is also yours. Besides fantansy of black women to date outside their race could be best described a mirage. Black women are the least likely to date outside their race because they are considered least attractive. Its a tough world for the black race, best we drop all petiness and develop Africa. That's the only way out. |
squash47:Mr Man, leave story. Rosaline5000 just gave the hard fact. Men are moved by what they see. if as a woman u no fine he go hard for men to look your way, if u like get the heart of an angel. It's your beauty that will attract men, its your character that will keep them. Same with women, I used to think its a naija women thing until I travelled out. Fine bobo can get u plenty women ending on your bed but without money, none will agree to be your life partner. No woman is born to suffer with any man. know this and know peace. |
MarianaTrench:It's not bad for a single person. She will easily meet her basic needs. The alternative for her is to return to Nigeria and be doing runs or olosho on instagram. That's a no for me. Besides she's a student doing per time job. She won't be getting a job that pays 1000 dollars per week. My advice for Nigerians who wants to travel overseas but not used to hardwork, learn IT/software skills, it's in high demand and the remuneration is good. |
Karleb:So the woman's son cannot collect broom from his mama and sweep. Which kind of guy even entertain guest and looks on while his mother is sweeping. Yet u have the audacity to complain that an outsider didn't help. Upbringing has gone to th dogs in Nigeria. Whoever sells his family for a penny, cannot buy them back in millions. |
Cognitivereason:I'm not aware of oil swap for fuel by nnpc. if have u the link, share and let me read the details of the deal. Nigeria is part of OPEC and any crude oil leaving our shores will count as part of Nigerian quota- that is a loss. we are suppose to sell all crude oil we export. crude oil feeding our local refinery for local consumption is different. We are not paying anybody, we still export our expected quota if we are able to meet the benchmark. Even if govt is selling to private refineries at international rate, the final cost of fuel will still be cheaper becos its not subject to our weak naira to strong dollar exchange. Nigeria cannot afford to buy fuel for 800 aira per litre- it will kill the economy. |
Cognitivereason:buying from dangote will free up our forex. dangote will sell to local buyers in naira not dollars. 2. dangote will buy crude oil from nigerian govt who can sell to him at discount/fixed rate if they want to continue indirect subsidy. Thats how its done in saudi and iran. Threre's a big difference between buting from local refineries and foreign ones. |
The biggest headache we having with subsidy ATM is that we importing fuel at international prices. As the price of crude oil goes up and Naira gets weaker, FG will pay more for subsidy. building local capacity will eliminate both problems. Even if they are private refineries like dangote, govt can enter contract to refine crude oil at fixed cost for domestic consumption. That's what's done in Iran and saudi arabia. this will eliminate pressure on our forex and oil shocks. Removing subsidy with fiat and telling us bobo about investing in other sectors will not sit well with Nigerians who will bear the brunt of inflation and weaker naira. |
Peter Obi also spoke as if the subsidy money is only for the federal govt if eventually removed. That money will be shared among the three tiers of govt. FG will only get 55% of the money. so the whole idea of spending 40 billion on education, health and security at federal level is a mirage. states will do what they like with their own share including Govenors using part of the money to carry ashawo to dubai. its none of peter obi's business. Nigerians dont let anybody bobo u with sweet talks. we all know the problem of this country, solution is what we looking for. Peter Obi didnt give any meaningful solution apart from saying he will run Nigeria like he did with Anambra. That's a recipe for failure. He cant even run ordinary NNPC like a state, cabals will frustrate him out. Let's be pragmatic about our future as Nigerians, no one man can change anything in ABUJA. The first step towards any meaningful progress as a nation is RESTRUCTURING. let Nigeria be micro-managed from the regions. |
Peter Obi said nothing. Every govt in power knows subsidy has to go but are they ready for the consequence? revolt and possible violent protest from the masses, uncontrolled inflation and rising cost of living is the inevitable outcome. Is Peter Obi ready for Nigerians to buy fuel at N800 per litre. That's the issue, not telling us what u will do with the subsidy money. Obasanjo, Jonathan and Buhari govt already sold that to Nigerians but didnt work. Those ARISE presenters were too soft on him. They should have asked him if it makes sense to remove subsidy at a time the world is grappling with global inflation and rising energy cost. All Nigerians politicians are lazy and lack critical thinking. Always looking for the easier way out. Peter Obi is no exception. The permanent solution to fuel subsidy is to have domestic refining capacity that can cater to the energy needs of Nigerians. simple. That was the answer I expected from Peter Obi and then tell us how his govt will build the refining capacity. He kept ranting about cuting cost while Gov of Anambra and ran the state on shoe-string budget. If that's what he wants to attempt at abuja as President, then he's a clown. Ordinary NNPC will frustrate him, bring foreign auditors with forensic auditing, nothing will come out of it. Most Nigerian governors run their states like personal estates. Some comissioners cant even approve simple pencils in their office without the gov approval, that cannot be extrapolated to Abuja. Nigeria is too big and complex for a top to bottom admistrative system. restructure the country and let the system be micro-managed from the regions. That's the only sensible way out. |
OgunLaakaye:Yeah, he has no girlfriends and was abused as a child. He also has no friend and when he greets people, they don't notice him. Giving excuse for rubbish Awon were. Let them continue their nonsense, American will soon become bigger version of shit hole Nigeria. |
Thinkam:And u think tinubu will sweep the south? Tinubu will struggle to sweep southwest, only with sentiment can he have 75% vote. APC shot itself on the foot by presenting someone who can't confidently sweep the entire southern region including making significant in road into northern region. Tinubu banking ok northern vote is foolhardy. |
bigpicture001:So in what way will the FG bring about your production investment. By building industries or by giving loan to business man to produce? How does the govt boost production? Do u know why Nigeria cannot compete against the asian countries esp china when it comes to production and export. Why are Nigerian industries not competitive? The answer is the price differential. If your final product cannot match what's coming from asia, nobody will touch it. To achieve this u need a strong value added chain sector- from primary product to final product. The supply chain must be quick, efficient and cheap. Importing component and assembling into final product is waste of time. That's not industrialisation. 2. U need infrastructure esp Power. Electricity and transport must be damn cheap and the cost shouldn't be factored into the final product. 3. Good economic and fiscal policy to encourage home grown entrepreneurs and attract foreign investment. U guys are joking when u say we don't need foreign investors. In fact, u need them more than anything. They will bring in their technology and ensure accessibility to foreign markets. 4. Invest in human capital. Promote good technical education and ensure a healthy and well motivated work force. 5. Security! Security!! Security!!! 6. More and more infrastructure. In power, mining, transport, ports, ware houses, supply chain, logistics etc Finally Nigeria really needs to leverage on its advantage which is the petrochemical industry. Massive investment in that sector will be a game changer and the real fuel needed to fire up our industrialisation agenda. Most raw materials needed to feed industries come from petrochemical refining. We really need sound technocrats to educate people on why our economy isn't productive. Buhari really messed up this country that people don't even have an idea what good governance is all about. OBIDIENT CREW SHOULD STOP BLINDLY CONDEMNING ECONOMIC POLICY SIMPLY because ITS NOT FROM OBI'S MOUTH. That was how they were foaming in that credit system thread. I'm yet to see the full detail of Obi's economic blueprint. Something Obidient crew should be doing instead oplansnsticisplanssother peoples plan. |
NOETHNICITY:What Muslims don't understand is they are creating a global anti-islam consciousness by their misbehaviour. People who normally don't care about sects or religion are now promoting national identity all in a bid to deal with Muslims. Look at how Modi is dealing with Muslims in India. Promoting Hindu nationalism in Muslim majority community. China has done a good job of his uighur Muslims citizens. Now they are bringing in hans tribe to dilute the Uighur couture. In another decade that ethnicity and it's identity with Islam with stop existing. Trump almost clamp down on Muslims in America b4 he was removed. Well American Muslims are very smart, they now call themselves progressives. Even Ilhan Omar now advocates for homosexualism. Switzerland just a law banning burka in public. Islam only hope of progress now is woke western Europe. Continue pushing your Islamic agenda in Nigeria. It's only a matter of time before things spiral out of control and may end up splitting the country. Na Yoruba people I pity pass. |
CoolAmbience:explain to us how the war in ukraine affects the price of cooking gas in Nigeria when Nigeria do not import gas. otherwise, u are the stark illiterate. |
FreeStuffsNG:all this buhari supporters with nothing upstairs. Is kerosene cheap, something that's almost 1000 naira per litre. where do u see coal in nigeria? or u meant charcoal. so we should start cutting down trees to make firewood and charcoal. see reasoning of an aboki in the 21st century. The last alternative is abacha stove- using sawdust as the fuel. A viable solution according to this ass licking shameless APshit. See the audacity to taunt Nigerians on petroleum subsidy. Do u know the cost effect of subsidy removal on other commodities and products? The inflation will sprial out of control and naira will be dancing at almost 1000 per litre. If dem born una papa well, remove the petrol subsidy. Lekki tollgate protest will be child's play. You or that subsidywise guy, I no know who dumb pass. |
ivolt:Most bleaching cream contain toxic metals that gets absorbed and yes can damage the kidney. No amount of vitamin C you swallow will make your skin white. All babies take take vitamin C, why their skin never white. There are lightening cream that contain natural ingredients but there's no guarantee they work, u need harsh metals to bleach out the melanin on your skin- natural ingredients or vitamin C won't cut it. |
neonly:U guys raped her or what? |
