FamilyRe: My Marriage Is In Trouble. by slimyem: 12:47pm On Jul 30, 2013
I assume you are non-Nigerian so its okay to be a little suspicious about your husband's true intentions.
However,I think your questioning them is a bit late since you are already married to him but if searching for information would make you feel good, by all means do. Just be prepared to handle whatever you may find.
FamilyRe: Divorce An Act Worthy Of Celebration? by slimyem: 12:38pm On Jul 30, 2013
Divorce shouldn't be celebrated but in this age where the institution called marriage has become a joke of sorts, what can you do?
It used to be a difficult and heartbreaking process, something last resort but not anymore.
Who doesn't know that in every marriage, there are grounds for divorce but the trick is continuing to find, grounds
for marriage? But, No,people would rather the easy way out now.
I saw a quote that labelled "celebration" as an act of impressing the sadistic someone inside of you. I would think it applies in this case. Divorcees have failed. What more to do than to try to console themselves that they haven't?
FamilyRe: Is It Proper To Advice Children To Fight Back If They're Being Bullied? by slimyem: 12:19pm On Jul 30, 2013
It is the right thing to do. That's how they learn to defend themselves. Once a bully knows you can defend yourself, he's lost his hold.
Or what would you rather have the child do? Do nothing and choose the oppressed side?
Bullies are never happy until they've pushed the bullied to the ground. So its better to tell your child to have the courage to stand his/her ground and not give any bully the time of day. Fighting back is power that should never be given away.

PoliticsRe: Rate & Review Your Governor by slimyem: 11:46am On Jul 30, 2013
Valentinooo: I wouldn't want you to look at this in a sentimental way. This is the issue of our state, so forget politics here and let's be sincere. I voted him and that doesn't mean if he isn't performing i shouldn't talk.

Are you telling me those sacked lecturers from Rufus Giwa that has spent more than a decade working are illegal?? Or those of aaua?? And what has he done to take in our youths that are being graduated every year?? What i see is just lots of graduate youths roaming the streets. I've accessed him well before giving him that 5 unles you are being sentimental here.
I am not being sentimental at all.The fact that two of my very good aunts were also sacked/dismissed is enough reason for me to be but I'll call a spade what it is.
Except if there was something political about those lecturers,I'd like to believe they were booted out because they didn't meet certain requirement to remain in service.

I also touched on the employment thing in my post. Truth is that, how would he employ when the civil service is over saturated? And now that he is trying to make way in the best way possible, y'all are crying blue murder still. Human beings!
He is not perfect. He has his faults but he should be applauded where necessary. I am unbiased.

PoliticsRe: Rate & Review Your Governor by slimyem: 11:08am On Jul 30, 2013
Valentinooo: Ondo state
Dr. Olusegun Mimiko
5yrs
20
5/10.
The man performed well in his first tenure. But refused to impress further after being voted in for the second term. He has tried in terms of road construction and schools but failed woefully in terms of employment. Infact he sacked over 6000workers claiming the work force is too much despite the unemployment in the state.
It was the right thing to do. Ghost workers and illegally appointed people and those due for retirement.
Only people who have no adherence to moral and ethical principles would see wrong in what he did.
PoliticsRe: Rate & Review Your Governor by slimyem: 10:59am On Jul 30, 2013
SimonAndal:
1. Name of state
2. Name of governor
3. Number of tenures served
4. Years lived in state
5. Rate (out of 10, in which 10 is a stellar performance denoted by the fulfillment of at least 75% of campaign promises/agenda).
6. Review (the achievements and failures).
7. Recommend (better strategies for developemental amelioration).
-Ondo State.
-Governor Olusegun Rahman Mimiko
-2 tenures
-2 decades more or less. wink
-7/10
-He is one governor who has delivered quite well. He identified the problems of the common man and has been addressing it. From the roads, to the mother and child hospitals to the mega schools, the remodelling of markets and mortor parks, the buses that transport students to and fro school free plus Ondo state is gradually becoming a beautiful city all because of him.
Sports nko? Dealing it from the grassroots.
He's also been transforming the Civil service of recent. All ghost workers and illegally appointed peeps are being rooted out. Just the way it should be.!
Smart, cunning, strict, and a no-nonsense Governor. cool He has given no room for ineptitude.
His opposition and n'er do well people will always find faults though.
He has done well but can be better! Iroko joor!! cheesy

For better strategies, I'll think he would do something about employment. That's the only area that he hasn't been felt. If I were to advise, He should revive all the companies that have been run aground in Ondo state e.g Oluwa Glass, NIROWI etc...

FamilyRe: Nigerian Jailed 90 Years In US For fathering Six Children With Own daughters by slimyem: 2:24pm On Jul 29, 2013
tpia@:
the man is not nigerian.
So I hear. Na Nigerians dey claim wetin nor be them own.

There is a story making the rounds amongst
several Nigerian blogs and a national newspaper that a
Nigerian man has been sentenced in America to 90yrs
in prison for having children with his daughters but
apart from his name there is little or no evidence that he
is Nigerian.Ayinde’s original name is Charles/Eric McGill and
not a single one of the American or British publications
that reported the story made mention of a Nigerian
ancestry. He was referred to as “a Patterson, New
Jersey, native” in XXlMag.com in March.
We at urnaija would really appreciate it if anyone can
provide satisfactory evidence that Charles McGill/Aswad
Ayinde has any Nigerian connections apart from his
name.
As Nigerians, we get a lot of bad press as it is and we
shouldn’t start making false contributions to it.
