Christianity EtcRe: Is church an investment?? by spicyv1(f): 6:31pm On Aug 20, 2012
@ OP: it is actually a lack θf understanding that would make one to sow without having any expectation! Does a farmer sow seeds without expecting a harvest? Infact, the reason that people that sow do not receive anything is because they closed their mind by not expecting anything! Effective sowing is sowing with an expectation θf a specific harvest! So yes you must expect something in return because there is no harvest without a seed! Why would the bible talk about seed time and harvest or θf a man reaping what he sows?

Please wisen up if you want to start getting results!
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chris And T.b Joshua Are Satanic. (pst Chris Is A White Demon) by spicyv1(f): 5:39pm On Aug 20, 2012
@ Micheal Manyeza: I totally enjoyed your post except the part that you were actually defending a mistake! I refer to the teaching that masturbation is not a sin against God as an error! Now, the preacher never directly said Lust is a sin but he definitely said that indirectly! Why? Because masturbation is a product θf lust! It is not an act that can be committed without lusting because the sin θf lust would have taken place before the act θf masturbation is carried out! It is therefore a capital sin against God!

Your point about married people carrying the act on each other is an expression θf ignorance because masturbation is an act carried on one's self!

Personally, I have been blessed tremendously by pst Chris' teachings! Good thing is I have the HolyGhost to discern an error or a contradiction to the world plus I am also wise to be like the Berrean Christians! I subject every teaching I hear to the scrutiny θf the WORD!

Lastly, I advice that if you have the Spirit θf God dwelling within you, give Him the chance to play His role θf guiding you into all truths! And when He does, accept his corrections whether it injures your pride, ego, reputation or whatever! It is better to yield to His correction than reject because the pains θf disobedience far outweighs the pain θf obedience! And the fear θf the Lord is the beginning θf wisdom! So, Choose to pursue after wisdom!

That teaching is clearly wrong! I thought it was a mistake and its okay to make mistakes but it is foolish to defend, endorse and justify your mistakes for any reason! What you ought to do is pray for your pastor because he is not immune to mistakes, rather than persisting in misleading those whose faith are weak!

May God give us the grace to allow our eyes θf understanding to be open!
CareerRe: How Do You Tell Your Boss She Has Got A Mouth Odour? by spicyv1(f): 2:55pm On Aug 20, 2012
I laugh real hard! Are you serious? Please understand the difference between Bosslady and Milady! One is official and the other personal. You should know the boundaries that ought not to be crossed. Instead θf thinking θf ways to loose your job, invest that same time and thinking capacity to practice holding your breath for longer periods θf time.

One more thing, quit discussing your bosses' weaknesses with colleagues!
Christianity EtcRe: Can A Spirit Filled Christians Still Be Possessed By Demon(s)? by spicyv1(f): 9:25pm On Aug 18, 2012
Okay. You are right about how repeating arguments that have been trashed results in delay. I get your point now.

BTW I think I perceived some sentiments from you and a subtle display θf irritation (anger) whilst you were responding to Jo(who maintained his calm all through). At some point it made me skip over your posts as I saw a contradiction between your actions and your supposed definition θf a christian. I am not attempting to judge you in any way, I just feel that you have so much to pour out yet many who really needs to be blessed by you may not because you unknowingly push them away with your aggression.

Ihedinobi: I'm not sure what this means.
Oh I am sure you very well know what it means, but if you choose to play uncertainty, I will rephrase my words. Please allow bigd4050 to learn from Joagbaje, you have stated that you are disengaging yourself from his posts on this thread, why then discourage another from engaging in insightful debates?
Christianity EtcRe: Can A Spirit Filled Christians Still Be Possessed By Demon(s)? by spicyv1(f): 6:42pm On Aug 18, 2012
This is a very interesting thread! Sir Joagbaje your posts clearly indicates that you have deep insight in the things θf the spirit. I celebrate you sir!!!

@ Ihedinobi: I think you should respect the right θf anyone that chooses to learn from Joagbaje or whoever they choose! God bless you sir.
Christianity EtcThe Strength His Joy Gives... by spicyv1(op): 3:33pm On Aug 18, 2012
I had just completed a task at noon today and felt somewhat excited at my results. Then I heard myself giving thanks to God by uttering these words, "thank you Lord for strength". I said those words repeatedly and whilst doing that, I found myself conversing with the Holyspirit.

Holyspirit: He brings the scripture θf Nehemiah to my remembrance, the Joy θf the Lord is my strength.

Me: I declared the scripture feeling joyful

Holyspirit: The strength that His joy brings is beyond the physical strength. It is an inner strength, the strengthening θf the soul!

Me: I pause for a few seconds and ponder on what the Spirit θf God just reveals and He continues...

Holyspirit: Depression, discouragement and sadness results in weakness θf the soul hence the lack θf zeal or enthusiasm to move forward or strive for greatness but the strength to keep going, to aspire for more, to push on inspite θf gigantic challenges and sorrow, comes from the Joy θf the Lord! All the courage you would ever need to face adversities lies in the joy θf the Lord!

And so, it really finally dawns on me what that scripture actually means because prior to this time, I usually just chanted the scripture and associated the strength with something physical! Now I know why it is critical for me to fill myself with His joy everyday!

Another thing I learnt is that thanksgiving activates His joy! It was afterall in the act θf giving thanks and experiencing His joy that the Holyspirit ministered.

Just thought to share.
One love..Christ's love.
CareerRe: Do You Have Passion For Media? by spicyv1(f): 2:46pm On Aug 18, 2012
Oh yes! Media to me is like the first love you really can't get over. I have done broadcasting and copywriting and it just comes naturally to me. Though I am currently not involved in media as my primary career, I still find that I dabble into that field.

luluosas: My brother, the poor victim is not dead na, abi you want her dead? You should sympathized with her, not to condole her family please. Thank you.
Condolence is a term used to sympathize with someone in pain! You need to familiarize yourself with a dictionary before publicly correcting someone and revealing your own lapse! Besides no be gal im extend im condolence to? Where u take see family?
CareerRe: How Will You Handle This? by spicyv1(f): 5:10pm On Aug 17, 2012
@ op: money is good but only shortsighted people start the career journey with money as the immediate focus. If you want to pursue the financial mgt path you must be willing to make sacrifices! These sacrifices are short term and will eventually pay off! Do not take on any job because you have bills to pay, thank God you are engaged in business. If you take on any job without considering your career goals, you will only be getting yourself distracted and would eventually come back to square one with your career.

If you must take on this job, your reason should be beyond money. You can actually start the job with the intention θf moving to finance. Finance plays a crucial role in Events Management and there is always a need for professional accountants θr financial managers. You might want to discuss that option with your employers.

AjanleKoko: cheesy cheesy cheesy
You should look at her profile pic first, before you conclude grin
That profile pix was uploaded in 2005. Not that it matters if it was recently posted though. I wouldn't want to respond to you in a manner that you actually deserve because that would mean that I have condescended to your level.

You need to learn how to seperate emotions from arguments! I hope you have the initiative to get that!

obowunmi: Excellence is costly koo, excellence is costly ni.

If your resume came accross my desk, I definitely will not and never hire you.

Most innovative entrepreneurs today at some point in their lifetime were fired at some point in their career. Spicy, perfection doesn't exist. Its not real.

I'm sure you are one of those peeps at work people don't like to work with.
Well before I send my resume to you, I would have conducted my own research on you and concluded that I shouldn't be working for you because your standards are way below! You are definitely right about one thing, shallow and mediocre people cannot cope with my work patterns. The reason is obvious!
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 3:45pm On Aug 17, 2012

Post your email address lol. Pls hide the first recent posts from me, I have been trying to modify and delete them cos θf the repetitions but it ain't werking. Thank you.
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 3:28pm On Aug 17, 2012
@ OB: Conversation actually just began!
@ Ajaleko: Your assumption is wrong! I thought about sending you a copy θf my resume so you know how long I have managed teams, but it ain't necessary as I don't have to proove anything.

I still hold on to the viewpoint that initiative and good sense are essential qualities that staff must have irrespective θf the position they hold reason being that possessing these qualities is not based on how schooled you are but on how much experience and exposure you have! I have come to this conclusion from my experience is deciding who should be hired and from managing people. The most schooled people aren't often those with deep insight, talent they say is never enough!

One θf the basic quality I look out for in a potential employee is the ability to apply good sense/ initiative! It is wrong to assume that low level staff need not have initiative because they are unschooled! Good sense is not learnt in school but through life/work experiences. This is why before hiring staff even the driver, I must have ascertained that your initiative is functional, whilst not expecting that the driver displays the same level θf reasoning with the business manager, but at entry level all staff is aware that we are all responsible for the success θf the business and that is why the driver is also given an orientation training.

If you expect me to always tell you what to do then I should have 50percent θf your salary! From experience I have discovered that people who are too lazy to engage their initiative never make an extra effort to make any impact in their immediate environment because they are set in their mediocrity! No amount θf training will make any difference, it is a self imposed limitation!

You may perceive my leadership style as extreme but then excellence is costly and the majority are unwilling to pay its price!

CareerRe: Is It True People Pay To Get Jobs In Nigeria? by spicyv1(f): 11:24pm On Aug 16, 2012
Oh yes! People certainly do pay to get jobs! This is very rampant in the public sector! I know a dude who was meant to pay 750k to have his name on a slot but claims that by Gods favor he only had to pay 50k. These jobs are advertised yes, but before the advert the big guns have selected their candidates mostly comprising θf people who have purchased the job!
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 11:13pm On Aug 16, 2012
obowunmi: Fire everyone that doesn't take initiative. Btw, how do you measure initiative? Give the gateman rigorous tests and exams to pass?

The notion of common sense and initiative in the work place is extremely relative. What you can't measure.....

Fire onm..until all employees share your common sense and initiative skills.
So much aggression! Relax man, it is merely a debate! On a lighter note, I would start by firing you! Yep! You are sooo FIRED!!!
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 11:02pm On Aug 16, 2012
obowunmi: I won't get into a back and forth banter.

This is an incomplete case study and very bad example. Why doesn't a bank send or hire a gateman to close accounts and find clients? Why isn't a gateman president of LEAP Africa? Why do they need to hire bankers, or sales persons and experts to get the job done.
,
Why don't you hire a gateman as a teacher to teach your kids.

Everyone has a specific level or skillsets, and the gateman's strengths are not in closing accounts and deals. They are part of the customer service process but that is up to the company to train staff appropriately, create protocol and assign tasks. The company has a level of responsibility.

Once again, I won't get into a back and forth. Its getting boring and repetitive.
Nope! It is not getting boring and repetitive! It is simply a debate, a difference in opinions. Like I earlier sited, you have really missed the whole picture. I do not see how the examples you sited on skill sets relates to the requirement θf initiative! True everyone in the workplace has their role clearly defined but the use θf initiative is everyone's role and expecting the low level staff to use some initiative is not giving them some herculean task θf making critical decisions for your business!

@ Obowunmi: I can't help but laugh at how you choose to understand my viewpoint. I believe Violent has shed more light on my opinion, you should be able to relate with that I hope.
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 10:31pm On Aug 16, 2012
obowunmi: This is why you have protocol exercises and you have to test the practical skills of your employees, with "real - life" situations to prepare them.

Anyone that costs the company money is making a costly decision. I don't want to delve into management issues but I will say. Let this company re-train all their staff (high, mid, low) and test their pratical skills.
I agree with you on this, the company certainly has to retrain their staff! But then, if they do not, the staff ought to learn from the experience and become acquainted with initiative and insightful discretion.
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 10:16pm On Aug 16, 2012
obowunmi: Not receiving adequate training, making wrong decisions has nothing to do with laziness.

Low paid staff should never cost a company this amount of money. Since it has, it is the company's fault NOT the gateman.
Sir, you obviously didn't get my point! I never stated or insinuated that the absence θf adequate training and the inability to make right decision is a sign θf laziness! How can that be? I am saying that expecting to receive adequate training from an organization alone is a sign θf laziness! You must take responsibility to give yourself some training, that is why the internet, books and mentors exist! If for any reason a low level staff lacks access to the internet and books, he shouldn't lack access to experienced people who can answer questions he hasn't answers to!

Your conclusion that low paid staff should never cost a company huge losses is wrong! (I say its wrong because I assume you mean they should never be held responsible for their actions that results in losses)
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 9:40pm On Aug 16, 2012
obowunmi: The company has to take responsibility in this case. If you have not provided appropriate customer service trainings to your low-level staff, you cannot expect them to make such "high-level" decisions. This is why you have an organizational chart. Low-level, mid-level, upper management, and executive staff.

The protocol the company should give staff not upper or executive management is: "if customer say he wan see manager, go to "Femi." This person should be an expert at handling customer related issues. In Nigeria, everyone likes to point fingers here and there. But in this case, the company reporting and protocol process has failed. Operations and customer service managers need to take responsibility step up and stop blaming the poor gateman.

Its a cop out of a failed management system.
You are right about getting staff trained but then organizations can never train you enough! If you decide not to help yourself stay relevant in your job but always wait for your company to educate you then that is the height θf laziness and a lack θf foresight!

I also want to point to you sir that low level positions are not reserved for people with a lack θf good sense or judgment! Skills that the GM clearly lacked! He also lacked experience, if he at least had adequate experience he sure would not have made such silly and costly mistake!

Question please, do you really consider that GM's decision as a "high level" decision?
CareerRe: Were They Right To Have Sacked The Gateman? by spicyv1(f): 7:58pm On Aug 16, 2012
AjanleKoko: ^^
Consider that the request to see the manager might have also required the gateman to allow the customer and his vehicle into the premises.
The case study is not explicit on that point. Also, there might have been standing instructions relating to unscheduled visitors to the management. All of those factors play some role in the decision-making.
The request to see the manager might have also required the manager coming out to see the visitor or delegating a subordinate to attend to the visitor. Also, it is unrealistic to assume that a business entity such as that which was sited in this case(car dealer) would categorize any visit as unscheduled! It is not a govt. Parastatal or the likes.
