Seeking employment after school was very challenging for me particularly, having schooled in two countries in the West. I learned to manage my expectations mainly because my experience getting my first job in Nigeria was super easy without any connections.

One thing I learned is that it is okay not to get the job even when it seems the interview was extremely great. To get better, I usually request feedbacks and to add to the pain sometimes was hearing that comment "You did very well unfortunately, we found someone whose experience matched our requirements more". To cope, what I did sometimes was to take two days off job search and ruminate over the experience.

A live changing experience was when three different directors told me that they had no reasons for not offering me the job however, it is not every job one applies for that one gets. These were PhD holders like me in the industry and one was from my field of study. At that point I learned not to worry too much about rejections and take it as one of those things.

In conclusion, the day I got a job, it was funny because the job I looked forward to, I did not get a call from them. When my manager called, I was expecting the rejection news however, she was making me an offer and the rest is history.

This predicament was explained to me by a close friend and business associate of mine...just yesterday:
Some weeks ago, my friend complained to me of the issues had with his private part (pus, painful urination, itches). I told him to go for tests since I presumed they may be signs of toilet infection. ( my friend doesn't womanize at all. He married as a virgin). Yesterday, he came to me confused. The test results revealed he had a Gonorrhea infection.
In my mind, Gonorrhea is only transmitted sexually and my friend has confided he has never sexed another woman besides his wife. His wife on the other hand is a mid-level banker who is very serious with both work and church. She couldn't have been cheating on her husband (according to him). He has never for once noticed any sudden change of behaviour with his wife.
He doesn't also check her chats or call logs because he trusts her. The only time something strange happened with her was when a cab dropped her off at around 11 PM and she had earlier called him that evening telling him she would be late due to end of year bank reconciliations (this happened in December last year).
