I've been using Payoneer over 5 years. Only started experiencing this this year.

I don't quite buy the compromised ATMs because if that is the case my GTB mastercard will have wreaked caused havoc since.
Payoneer user since 2009, experienced it for the first time this year. Funny enough, I remember seeing two guys close to the Ecobank ATM where it happened in Asokoro just milling around with no particular purpose. I strongly suspect they had a skimming machine.

Anyway I reported, got my funds back. We are now pursuing the case..

Went to GTB yesterday and was told I can no longer cash the dollars across the counter. I was now referred to one mallam who is now permanently camped in that branch. You fill a transfer form to mallam's account, mallam pays you the exchange rate (I cashed at N222 to $1 yesterday), then GTB takes their transfer fee of either $10 or 1% of amount, whichever is more.

Can you imagine this? What it means sha is that I cam now sell my dollars at any price I want to anyone who is desperate for it.

Someone actually called my academy a stu.pid academy. What I refused to mention is that a prominent guy from my place who is trying to eradicate poverty actually sponsored 20 students from his place to get the training so they are not paying a dime. I have actually been on this for 2 years now.

I am talking to a foreign foundation to give me a grant to train some folks for free. So my friend, you see why I said I will NEVER sell an ebook or market anything to anyone here on Nairaland. The place is filled with all kinds of fools. One person who contacted me about this last year and who I gave so much information for free did not even bother to send me a mail saying thank you. I will put up his username once I go through my mails.

Forgive my language, but the idi.ot who called my venture a stupid one is part of the reason I will not contribute anything further to this thread. Afterall, I found my own way myself with no help from no one and certainly not from people like darmochy1.

I only showed you just a little of my earnings. I have companies I work for now whom I met on the platforms. From Russia, US, Canada, UK, South Africa, Vietnam, etc. My earnings are in Euros and USD.

I have nothing to prove to anyone. I am not selling any ebooks. I am only saying: it is possible to make good money as a Nigerian with a fully Nigerian profile.

It is about your skill and what value you impart. People pay for value. Little value means little money. Much value means much money. To be able to pull in the money I make, I paid thousands of pounds to pick several skills and certifications in London and France. I prepared for it. I made lots of personal sacrifice.

No be today i enter the game. So haters, keep hating. Oluwa that opened my eyes years back has not failed and is still blessing.

Someone challenged me here to show proof if earnings. I posted one. Another one said na lie, nobody can pay a Nigerian that much. I now show a pic of dollars withdrawn from GTB on my way to Sheraton Abuja to change them, they say I am proud.

Now who measures the parameters by which the job can be said to be one which will attract a "5-star review"? These sort of projects with nebulous targets are the type that create lots of problems.

That is why I clearly said, people should not just start opening profiles and bidding left and right without skills and without training. You need to be trained to identify, then avoid trap projects that will cause frustration! There is more to this than meets the eye. I did not make all those thousands of dollars like that. I had to get trained.

The truth is it's not quite easy making money via freelancing especially when you identify as a Nigerian. It's hard work like any other job you get IRL. So who determines what pertains to a woman or man? What were our forefathers wearing in the 18th century? Were they wearing clothes or green leaves?

Society determines what the fashion is. Jesus Christ and the Jews did not wear trousers in their time. They wore gowns with ephods because that was the dressing and culture at the time. The bible did not condemn wearing of trousers by women. No mention was made of trousers because God knows that societies, cultures and dressings evolve.

Where the problem is, is when there is display of nudity. A woman can wear an ankle length skirt and slit it all the way up to reveal the full length of her legs, while another woman may wear a trousers that covers her up appropriately and not figure hugging. Between the two, which is preferable?

I have not even shown you my account snapshot from all my freelance accounts. If I open my Payoneer transaction PDF document from the last 6 years, people will faint here. That is why when Elance was coming to Nigeria for a seminar in Lagos four years ago, I was given a specal invitation to come for that event.

Those who think I will sell an ebook on this are joking. It will not happen. All I will advice you is this: forget about opening any freelance accounts. First things first. Go and acquire a skill and move up the freelance food chain.

The starting point is: what skill do these guys have? If you have no skill you will be earning peanuts!

But if you have real skills, employers will come with thousands of dollars begging you to do their work. I made $50,000 from a Latvian company on Elance in 2013 alone. That company alone paid my rent that year and a jeep I bought.

You have to be on top of the food chain. All this talk about profile building without skills is a waste of time.

I even give 10k, 20k jobs to students because I am too busy now and work with few high paying companies now. There is even a php developer I know based in Lagos who has done more than 700 jobs on freelancer. When u reach that stage jobs will be chasing you, not you chasing $2 per 500 words peanut butter change.
