This school appears to be a reputable school with what I read online about them, one of the best school in Lagos state..

Honestly more than 2 years. Most data science jobs I have seen at big firms requires minimum of a PhD in computer science and those firms aren't joking. It's really funny when I see small 19 20 year old boys say they are learning machine learning from a Udemy video

Company are all out for big things and big profile but don’t believe those things. The moment you can give value with your work, just go ahead and apply using your portfolio. You will be shocked about how high the chances are.

People are basically looking for productive people even sometimes not what they totally have in mind. For example some company claim they need data scientist when in real sense they basically just need a data analyst

Honestly I really don't rate any data science fields. Even data analysis that is said to have a lot of jobs doesn't have any. I have advised some people to pick it up and after a couple of months of intense learning they are still struggling to get jobs. My very close friend got into debt struggling to learn data science and no job. It's not a field I will advise anyone to go into based on the experiences of people in the field around me but it's subjective. There's still a lot of successful data analyst and data scientists. I just haven't personally met any.

The lies around that one can learn data science and land a job is only possible in advert shown on youtube.
Data science is a discipline and need year of learning and practice to be able to bring value by using people data.
That being said, telling people not to venture into it is not a good advice.

Data science need time, patience and practice. It could take up to two - four years to become productive. but when you're, It alot of earning

It depend on how much of value you can give into project. In other words how productive a project can become when you jump in.
secondly your background and future potential.
Those languages up there are nothing compared to ability to create value.

for a country like Naija
junior dev: 100k - 150k
Mid-level: 150k - 300k
senior-level: 400k - Beyond.

Those figure up there are nothing compared to the amount of productivity and your potential for solutions to problems you can bring on. you can be so productive that a month salary can be as high as 800k per month.

Hi everyone! I've been teaching myself how to code for some months now. So far, I've been able to learn HTML, CSS and JavaScript. My goal is to become a Full stack developer.

I've built several projects and I also created an account on Upwork to get some jobs. Upwork hasn't been very encouraging though. I've been there for months and I haven't been able to land any jobs. I'm also combining all these with my studies at university.

Data science is more about the knowledge of the science behind data than just learning to code. So it is kinda two separate thing.
What you need to do is to learn how to use python the data science way.

Find out what other data scientist are using codes and there you go.

Part of the reasons why I don't know what she wants is that when we were in the same city. We go to church programs together etc and after work every day we walk together. People noticed this and they thought we were dating so she said we shouldn't walk openly together.

Now, I don't even call her she's the one that calls.
