1. You mean you are not aware of the cases where demons even obeyed Jesus Christ lauding Him as the Messiah, Son of God?, undecided
This is not what I asked you, where in the bible was it written that Demons believed in the finished work of Christ?

2. Is this finished work you speak if different from what Jesus Christ did while He was on earth or something? Care to explain it with details? undecided
Where in the bible was it written that Demons believed that Jesus died for them?

You are just a mischievous liar, you lied so as to discredit the gospel of Jesus christ.

You are told in scripture that demons also believe in that same finished work of Jesus Christ —demons pointed Jesus Christ out as the Messiah sent from God —, same as you claim you believe, so by your assessment, are demons equally headed to Heaven? undecided

1. So, what is this righteous standard of God? undecided

2. According to God, there is only one way to be righteous before Him and the only way is by first attaining holiness and then doing the good works which have been stipulated by God. To this end, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God(holiness), and God's righteousness — because without holiness, your good works are rendered filthy by your sins and hence unacceptable to God — in order that all these things — the benefits and blessings of the Kingdom of God— shall be added to one. undecided
No one can attain righteousness because all have sinned.

A rape is when you have sex with a person without their consent. How can a prophet rape a kid because the parents agreed to it? Isn't Mohamad suppose to have a higher moral compass? Abdul

Jesus want to hell and was held temporarily captive by the devil because he went there as a sinner who took our place.

But he afterwards threw off the powers holding him and defeated Satan in his very domain.

He also crossed over to Abraham's bosom and released the saints therein. They all rose from the grave after his resurrection and went with Jesus to heaven.
Yes Jesus descended into hell but the bible didn't say Satan held Jesus in hell (the place of the dead).
Again some people believe that Jesus went to hell to continue the price of sin, this too is unbiblical, Jesus sacrifice ended on the cross and his sacrifice was what God demanded not what devil demanded or men demanded.
Jesus went to hell to preach to the spirits there and he became both the Lord of both the dead and the living after his resurrection.

Luke 22:36-38

It is very funny as well as pathetic the way Christians tend to twist the bible and end up giving themselves headache. according to the gospel of Luke 22:36-38;
36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.
38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Jesus ordered his disciples to sell their garments if they have no sword, the sword were later presented to him. Different christian with different holy spirit give the verses different interpretations. Many claim the sword as used in those verses does not mean a literal sword but a word of God.

Funny enough, a disciple of Jesus cut off one of the soldiers ear with a sword...erhm erhm, no, with a word of God. You may wonder how a word of God is sharp enough to cut off someone's ear except it is a sword in actual sense. The disciples had words at the command of Jesus who was making defensive plans against his enemies. There is no way Peter could have held a sword without Jesus knowing, he must have at a point in time seen him with it. It may baffle someone as to why Jesus cautioned Paul that anyone who kills by the sword shall be killed by the sword. This gets more interesting, was Jesus saying anyone who kills with word of God shall die by word of God?

Jesus was a good planner and strategist as we can see how he refused to walk in Judea to avoid being killed to his prayer in the garden of Gethsemane. The disciples had few swords, Jesus, seeing how armed and dangerous the Roman soldiers looked like, he knew few swords would do nothing. So, to be on a safer side, he needs caution peter.

One can imagine the confused look peter might have worn. He would be like, 'if anyone who kills by sword shall die by sword, why ask us to get swords?

They accuse Muslims of twisting their scriptures when in reality, they are the twisters.

I might have missed this. Where did you say it “starts from the heart”?
from the start I said that faith and repentance go hand in and that one cannot (truly) believe in Christ without repentance, and I also defined repentance as a change of heart ( of course it leads to change of action.

It all starts in the heart. Only the pure in heart will see God (sermon on the Mount)

If there’s no change of heart (repentance) that leads to forsaking a sinful lifestyle to do things God’s way… then it’s a waste of time
You are repeating what I said earlier on. It is from the heart, true faith comes with repentance.
A change of lifestyle comes as a result of the Holy Spirit work in a saved person.

If there’s no repentance, belief is insufficient.

Read up the story of Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8.

He believed in Christ, was baptised by water, yet was scolded by Peter. Because his heart was not right with God.
The meaning or usage of words can be gotten from the way it is used and also other words and sentences.
There are instances were people are said to believe in Jesus in the bible but are superficial this is known because there is no repentance.
For example some Jews was said to believe Jesus but turned out they didn't really repent.

The thief on the cross genuinely repented (had a change of heart), believed in Christ and defended the truth about Christ, he did not deny Christ (see how he rebuked the other thief)

If you think he died a hardened sinner, the joke is on you.

There’s no space in the kingdom for those who do not genuinely repent and identify with the truth.

God cannot be mocked.

Matthew 10 v 32-33;

32 “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

33 But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.
Those who deny Jesus don't have salvation in the first place.
To have salvation is by faith only.

At least you make EFFORT to RECEIVE it even it's just a GIFT. Note that the one giving it out stipulated terms and conditions for recipients:

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." John 3:16

So the recipient is required to DO something!
Good, so you now see that a gift is something you do not work for.
What effort do you make to receive a free gift?
The bible already punctures hole to false teachings

Romans 5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

It is even called a free gift, meaning no effort required to receive it.
So your gibberish nwt of effort has being thrashed.
Christianity Etc › Re: If Jesus Had Not Resurrected? by Steep(m): 1:57pm On Apr 09, 2023
What is the evidence of Jesus resurrection?

First of all, it is an established fact of history that Jesus really exist, even the Jewish nation that hated Jesus and Christianity do not deny the fact.
Secondly, Did they kill Jesus? Yes even atheists scholars agree that Jesus was killed.
But however, the bone of contention was his resurrection, the jews claim Jesus body was stolen to make it appear as if he really resurrected but however, the body could not have being stolen by Jesus disciples because his body was well guarded by the authorities.

The early Christians could not have passed through horric persecution rejection and death just to protect a lie, for what benefit?

People do something for one benefit or the order, for what benefit would the christians lie,? On the other hand the price they paid was so high that it defies all reasoning unless perhaps Jesus indeed was raised.
Christianity is not about worldly power, position, money or any other benefit, for what benefit?
Unless on that christ really rose hence their willingliness to die for the truth.

If you like change the subject but Jesus himself said not all those calling him Lord Lord will be saved except those DOING the will of his father! Matthew 7:21-23

If you don't grasp the verb DOING it connotes WORKING in anticipation of something! smiley
Jesus is speaking of pretenders who call him Lord with their lips but their heart is far from him.
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

Only those who love Jesus would keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

This love is from the holy ghost.

Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

When a someone receive the saviour Jesus christ he becomes born again, a new heart is given to him, this is the heart that love God and hence loves to keep his commandments.

This person begins to do good works which is the evidence of salvation.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The word BELIEVE connotes TRUST so if someone said "i believe Jesus" today that's not enough to save him!

WHY?

Believing Jesus according to God's word means acknowledging him as the Son of the most high God whose footsteps we must follow strictly {Hebrews 5:7} to please his father! Matthew 17:5

To enter God's Kingdom and live forever we must become holy {1Peter 1:16} for any imperfect human to meet up with this requirement Jesus is the role model we must copy in order to put on that new personality! Ephesians 4:22-24

So ordinarily saying "i believe in Jesus" can't save anyone! Matthew 7:21-23 smiley
I believe in Jesus does not save that is because that person believe in the wrong Jesus.
For example who would put his complete trust on an angel like Jehovah witness organization? or a mere man like the muslims and a whole lot of other false religion teaches? Or someone who needed to be reached through another means like the catholic teaches?

But the true Jesus who is both God and Man, who is all sufficient and whose word is yes and Amen, who came to save sinners freely, and whatever he does is perfect.
The one who can save till the end and will lose non of those in his hand. Such a person could be trusted and his word believed 100%.

Ken4Christ:
You are very correct. Salvation is obtained purely on the platform of grace.

You are not saved by good works but you are saved unto good works.

If after you are saved, you deny God in good works, you have invariably nullify your salvation.

This is why Jesus said he will spue the church of the Laodiceans out of his mouth because they were lukewarm.
I won't say nullify his salvation but rather such person just proved he is not saved.
Paul encouraged Professing Christian to examine themselves if they are truly in christ.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

You see it is not nullifying salvation mbut proving if one is truly saved, because one can assume he or she is saved whereas they are not buy just deceiving their own self.
