vinexe: honestly I wouldn't want some people to fell bad because I mentioned the state...
But I always try my best to be on a safer side... Am from Anambra State and she is from Enugu eziagu precisely.... Very bad experience... Ok. There are good and bad people everywhere. Like I said earlier, do the right thing for yourself. She is not a respectful and cooperative wife. That is why it is why the situation is very hard on you. Assuming she is on your side, supportive and cooperative, her family's efforts to make life difficult for you would not have been this difficult a nut to crack. So, do yourself right by following your father and pastor's advice. |

Also, a woman that doesn't respect you and leaves the house at will for no good reason is who you are struggling to officially get married to, to what end? Instead of you to see these obstacles as signs for you to get out of that entanglement. |

dejavubobo1: I'm a data analyst. Got a little weekly pay job from an academy in Europe. Surprisingly after 3months of work and weekly payment, My name was flagged by western union on suspicion of fraud (with my pay for February second week cancelled after many hours seating infront of the computer).
It's very appalling and morale draining to be profiled in one's own country. I really wish I could push for a law suit and make them understand not all Nigerians are criminals and seeing us/considering us as one will have consequences.
Has anyone had such terrible experience, how did you handle? Get in touch with your employer. They are the ones who can come between you and western union to resolve this. |

God saved you.
Most Nigerians are wicked. Just imagine! They are taking advantage of your resources and yet planning evil against you!
Next time go for a girl who is ready to settle down. This is always the likely outcome when you go for a girl that is still in school or not yet ready to settle down. Infact, at that stage every man that comes into their life is taking advantage of to better their life and get what their parents can't provide for them. |

Elistho: Hmmmm, my brother, I'm less problematic. The reason I let it go is because there's a time he was financially bouyant, he used to make me smile, sometimes carry me out to relaxation center, bills on him. I had looked for a way to repay him, then that happened, I left it as it's.
But I wouldn't lend him money again. For the fact that he didn't even talk about it again. I'm a law student, the money I gave him was to be added to buy a suit, till today, i don't have one because of him... Ok, I understand |
Family › Re: What's Your Experience With Money Lending/Borrowing? by Stevenbright(m): 10:29pm On Jan 29, 2024 |
Elistho: The one I can remember, this was last year July or August. My friend asked for 5K to add and pay school fees, I gave him my last card. I told him the money was relegated for my school bills too but I would give him as my friend and he should pay back, he vouched to.. I gave that benefit of doubt and transfered everything in my account to him.
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is February, I've not seen it. I asked him once or twice in the past, he said he would pay, he's a close friend so I didn't disturb. Since I didn't ask again, he didn't talk about it again nor pay.
I've learnt my lessons, we're still friends and even visit each other now, but I've not mention it to him lest I severe the relationship.
I don't know if he has forgotten or deliberately doesn't want to pay, but either ways, no qualms, God dey. That is how some of us create and abet monsters. Let me tell that there is no friendship between you and that guy that you want to preserve. He is not your friend, because a true friend will not betray your trust the way he has done. So, ask for and collect your money. He should as well get out of your life or you cut him off once you have gotten the money from him. Otherwise, he will do worse to you in some other ways in the nearest future and expects you to just take it, in the name of fake friendship. |

Josnac: Anyone who is observant enough would see first hand the havoc these styrofoam packs cause to our drainages...but they don't just develop legs and walk to these drains, they're used and disposed by people. And until we develop a comprehensive waste management approach to deal with stuff like these, you can ban styrofoam today and something else will just take its place tomorrow.
Plastics are recyclable but styrofoams are not!
The styrofoam take away packs will be replaced with plastic ones. I guess people generally goes for styrofoam packs before now because they are cheaper.
Same issues are also posed by plastics used to package soft drinks, are we going to ban those too?? |
Family › Re: Lucky Or Intentionality, Which Is Require To Raise Godly Children? by Stevenbright(m): 9:31am On Jan 27, 2024 |
AbbeyMogaji: A debate on parenting came in a public discussion, those who were involved in the discussion were strictly parents. It is intriguing how 80% of the participants agreed to a fact that raising a well-behaved child takes only the grace of God and a bit of lucky. I interrupted, “Luck ke? There are several models and strategies from which you can choose the one that suit the peculiarity of your child”. These parents resisted my opinion vehemently. Though it is popular among parents, this notion is far from the truth. As a matter of fact, few things can be more dangerous than relying on lucky to achieve anything in life.
What is your take? Nothing lucky there. It is either you intentionally train them the way you want or you leave them for the street to do it for you. "Garbage-in, garbage-out" |

EreluRoz: My dad's driver son is right here in our house and he's the first child of his dad, he's totally different from the rest, he doesn't look like his dad neither does he look like his mum, there's no resemblance from both parents at all.
I stylishly dig up stories of how his mum was married because he's been driving my dad even before I was born and I was told she was already pregnant before the marriage ceremony was held and as at that time of their wedding, the woman lived in a different state, she just came and told him she was pregnant and that was how marriage happened .
I have watched this boy from head to toe so I can see at least one feature in resemblance but I didn't see anything, not even from the mom, he's just totally different. The other kids are ok, two share a striking resemblance with their dad while the last took after her mom but with some of the dad features, so are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Should I tell my dad my observation? What do you think? Since you want to hear something, I suggest you check if there is a semblance of resemblance between the boy and your dad. It is possible the lady is your pman's sidechic. He match-maked her with his driver to have access to the boy!!! |

PowerOfLove: There's no two ways that unemployment is responsible for most of the crimes committed by young ones. I was there and I know it.
I used to do pilfering/petty theft to help myself. Even on this forum, I used to beg or try to swindle people to get any little financial favour just to survive because I didn't have a job.
Could you believe since I got a job (to God be the glory), none of such thought ever crossed my mind again?
With this, I wante to say every bad person out there deserve another chance with a job.
I have changed. Develop the habit of saving now so that you will always have something set aside for the future either for exigencies or investment to avoid finding yourself where you are coming from again. As for unemployment and the tendency to do crime, there are people who prefer being idle/lazy and do crime by the side than working hard for a living. |

A memo dated December 18, 2023, from the Office of Chief of the Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, titled ‘Conveyance of approval; Re: appeal to use N3,000,000,000.00 (three billion naira) from the Covid-19 palliative fund for verification of the national social register The above means that there was a Covid-19 palliative fund meant for the good of Nigerians but was held-up by the government and a great part of it probably stolen already. This goes to show that our leaders are not just corrupt but also wicked and inhumane!!! |

Family › Re: What Should I Do by Stevenbright(m): 5:34am On Jan 14, 2024 |
You are still not serious yet. Through out those years, you didn't try to get in touch with the woman and start building a foundation of responsibility and care towards her and the child which would have made your having access to the child easier now that you are back.
You are still self-centered because you didn't even said anything about the woman. Is she married now or still single? Is she having more children now? Is there a possibility of both of you coming together as husband and a wife? etc.
You have to be patient and gradually soften the ground until the woman and her family decides to consider your request. |
Career › Re: This Happened In My New Work Place. Please advice by Stevenbright(m): 12:47pm On Jan 13, 2024 |
Jackanda1: I recently applied to work in an organisation.
After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.
When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question; HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?
I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.
I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.
Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.
Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.
I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.
Anyone with this experience? Please console me. Work until your first month's salary is paid. They may actually pay you with the salary structure of the company. Otherwise, you can then meet the management staff you said picked interest in you and share Your situation with him. He might help you to get upgraded to the normal salary scale of the company. |
