Crime › Re: Husband Arrested For Recording His Dying Wife Without Offering Help by stonecoldcafe: 9:51am On Dec 11, 2015 |
sugarbelly1: 29-year-old businessman, Oluchi Ajimowu, has been arrested by the State Department for Criminal Investigation, Yaba, Lagos, for his alleged involvement in the death of his wife, 23 year old Priscillia Ajimowu. The couple lived with their children in Festac, Lagos before the wife's demise.
The police think that Ajimowu either slammed his wife’s head on the floor, or the mother of two poisoned herself due to frustrations in her marriage. Ajimowu claims that he had locked his wife in her room on November 29, seized her phone and went out with their two children, after they arrived from their outing, he reportedly met his wife foaming in the mouth.
His wife who was a nurse had asked to be taken to the hospital, but he allegedly refused, instead he gave her palm oil and recorded her with his phone for about 40 minutes until she died.
It was gathered that prior to her death, Ajimowu had battered and subjected the deceased to inhuman treatment throughout the four years they spent in South Africa. They decided to relocate to Nigeria. Ajimowu arrived four months ago while the wife arrived on November 27, two days before her death. It was gathered that Ajimowu had put their house for sale shortly after the wife’s death. The couple’s oldest child, seven-year-old Ella, said that there was a pesticide and a drink in the room where her mother was on the fateful day, adding that her father was “not nice to my mother” while they were in South Africa.
She said: “Dad used to shout at mummy and beat her and she would be crying. That day we left her alone in the house. Daddy took the keys and mummy’s phone and locked mummy inside. “When we came back home, daddy parked outside, locked us inside the car and went inside. After that, he called us to ‘come, come and see your mummy on the floor’. Mummy was saying, ‘Take me to hospital, I’m tired’. He started videoing her. He gave her red oil, but she spat it out. Her body was cold.” The deceased’s mother, Mrs. Stella Ayobo, said her daughter had planned to visit her on the fateful day, but had cancelled the visit. She added that Priscillia had not been happy throughout her 7 year marriage to Ajimowu . She added that Oluchi had shortly after his wife’s death reported at the Aguda Police Division, saying a friend took poison and died in his house.
She said: “Four years ago, they went to South Africa. She always called me to report how Oluchi maltreated her. “She came back to Nigeria on November 27. She visited me on November 28 and promised to visit me again the following day, being a Sunday. But that day, around 8am, she called me that she would not be able to come again and promised to come with her children on Friday. “Around 8pm that Sunday, her husband called me that she had been vomiting since morning and I told him to take her to the nearest hospital. He later called me and said it was a poison she took. I told him to bring her. By the time he brought her, she was dead. We took her to a hospital and the doctor said she had died. “He went to the Aguda Police Station to report that a girl visited him from South Africa, took poison and died in his house.”
The mother urged the police to investigate the matter in order to give justice to the family. Priscillia’s older sister, Mrs. Emenike Dorcas, said Ajimowu had convinced her sister to come to Nigeria under the pretext that he would open a chemist’s shop for her.
She added: “I reported the incident to the police at Satellite Town and Aguda divisions. Policemen at Aguda were surprised when they eventually knew the truth of the matter,”. Priscilla’s uncle, Francis Ayobo, said the suspect was not remorseful after his wife’s death.
He said: “It is so surprising that the wife was dying and the husband started videoing her. The videos were more than 40 minutes. He sent it to Priscillia’s sister in South Africa. By that time he would have rushed her to a hospital for treatment. “I noticed that about three other guys were in the background of one of the video because somebody was giving her water and she was foaming in the mouth. Those things should be questioned. He was handed over to SDCI on Wednesday.” The Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Joe Offor, said the Aguda Police Station arrested the husband and have handed him over to the Satellite Town Police Division. Source:http://www.punchng.com/businessman-who-videoed-dying-wife-arrested/ Oh Jesus! What kind of man did she marry? Why the rush to marry sef? Womennnnnn hmm! You see the signs but you still remain there. Shame dey catch you, you prefer to remain married than escape with your sanity. It is well. nairalander2015: Good day nairaland. As I write this... I am depressed, simply depressed.. If suicide led to heaven mayb i would have been a victim. Truly itz nt everyone who smiles that is happy. MY story I was born into a deeper life family 20yrs ago.. And I can say i regret being born into deeper life.. I would ave preferred been converted there than being born there. My travails started in secondary school.. Wen i failed to attend a fellowship, my mum talked harshly, slapped me an said i was a dishes disgrace.. Just because i failed to attend a school fellowship.. And I knew that I wasn't a bad kid.. Jes the gentle type.. Since then it has been bad... When others celebrate their mum.. I can't.. I am as far from my parents as anything.. Jes because they are deeperlifers.. I can't seat comfortably with my parents.. Cos of principles. Next was the battle concerning trousers.. She woke me up one black night with a thundering slap over a slim trouser.. Imagine dat was @16.. I cried and cried dat day.. Dat God made a mistake borning me in deeper life... Jes because i walked with a girl.. She banned me from going out.. Even at a young age... Threatened me that she"ll disown me if I marry a lady who wears wigs, trousers.. Omg.. Now.. I am in the university.. I never want to go home. I hate home.. I am depressed.. So so depressed.. My dad didn't send me any cash for a month cos a friend told him I failed to attend a midweek service.. Imagine.. Yet i am not rebellious. I know fellow guys like me who had big problems with their children but they were rebellious.. But i am not I feel depressed writing this.. Spirituality without love is a disaster.. Aw i wish i wasn't born to a deeper life's family.. Itz a curse.. I am tired.. Itz threat all the time. I am not close to my parents.. Imagine.. Seems i should just die.. I now see my mum as a enemy.. Anytime i see her i am sad.. Talks too much about simple things in a bad manner quoting Bible over needless things.. Watching ball outside is a sin.. Visiting friends is a nono.. Cos they are highly placed in the church.. Yet no one to share my burdens with.. So sad... Yet they think i am happy..i know many out there experience something similar but are helples.. Oh God have mercy on me.. Itz calamitous to be the child of a fanatic especially if you don't wanna be a fanatic also.... Advises pls.. What can I do? So so depressed.. Feel like dieing to be reborn elsewhere

http://www.gistmelove..com/2015/12/photos-benue-state-governor-samuel.html Well done to the gov and wife for giving this baby a new lease of life. Her life will never be the same again. However this got me thinking. Was it easy for them to adopt by virtue of their position? Could an average childless couple (capable of adopting the same kid) have gone through the same process with such ease? It is well sha. |

I begin to struggle when they add Delta/Edo. Like honestly, I don't identify with Biafra struggle. I don't have the faintest idea of what they are going through. I don't feel their pain too. LOL

Sisiedo: Hello career Men and Women in the house. I seriously need your guide on this. Non career Men and women are also welcome provided you're vast in the area of administration.
Lawyers and Accountants in the house, you're welcome. Lalasticlala, Mr. Jarus please honour me with your time.
I created a new ID for this purpose not because I want to hide my identity from fellow forumite but from my siblings and a colleague and an ex-colleague who are aware of my membership and regular commenter here.
I work with a private company were corruption, back biting and witch hunting is the order of the day. Am not here to talk about the corruption aspect but the witch hunting and back biting. This happens if you don't belong to their clique.
If I told you I am angry and feel like exploding I won't be far from the truth.
Aside previous issues which I don't want to go into, it started towards the end of last month (November). I forwarded the soft copies of our salary schedule to the bank after the account department have gone to the bank with the cheque and hard copies for our November salary to be credited into our various accounts.
Over 24hours later, alert were not forth coming; of which payment due date was the same day the documents was sent to the bank. Our account officer was contacted and he said the bank was having network issues.
The next day, our accountant came to me and asked me to forward the soft copy to another receipiant saying the former receipiant was on leave. This I tried to do with the system but was unsuccessful due to bad network. Due to the urgency of the matter, I resorted to using my phone. I opened my sent folder and did the forwarding and it went on the first click.
I later left the office for breakfast. I was in the middle of it when my phones started buzzing. I was confused and alert on what could make 3different people be calling me at the same time. I decided to pick the most senior (position) persons own. He asked me to come to the office immediately that my immediate boss seeks my presence, this I oblige. I picked the next, she said same. I left my food for my colleague I went out with to bring it down to the office for me.
On getting to the office, I met the accountant at the entrance of my own office furious; she asked to know the month(salary) I forwarded to the bank. I don't understand I responded! Still furious, she told me I sent October instead of November. At this state I was confuse and was trying to confirm her assertion by checking my sent folder. She was still vibrating and saying all manners of things I can't remember. I kept her quite because I don't want to involve her in a show of shame and secondly she have a speech defect (stammerer). It got to a point her presence beside me and her noise became irritating. I shut her up; asking her to stop raising her voice on me and that I am not a kid. This actually worked because she kept quite and left for her office.
I was able to access my sent folder after countless refresh. Behold, it was actually October I sent . The head of management requested I print both October and November schedule for him. This I did. Maybe they went to the bank with it, I don't know.
A circular was released informing staff that a mistake was made in the schedule sent to the bank and will be rectified in December salary were credit or debit should be expected.
Minutes later, I was issued a query. Worthy of mention is that "I sent October salary schedule instead of November to the bank thereby causing embarrassment to staff and management and that I should explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against me for the serious mistake"
I replied thus "that I had diffulties using the system due to bad network and had to use my phone to forward the mail. Unknown to me that october schedule was the last item on the sent folder and I forwarded same without refreshing. And that I acknowledge my mistake and take responsibilities for the EMBARRASMENT my action has caused"
Just yesterday, the accountant called me asking if I have received a letter from my immediate boss, I told her no. She said OK and that I should expect one. And that I was being asked to pay for the over credit some staff got. She added that the head of management insisted on it even after she and my immediate boss kicked against it (washy).
Though am still expecting the letter, I was able to get access to my file and the comment reads "she take responsibilities for (as indicated in her last paragraph) so be it!
Hmmmmm, now, ladies and gentlemen, please analyse and tell me how to react upon receiving the letter.
Is their decision legal and morally right?
What action should I take.
Thanks for taking your time to read the long epistle. I await your comments and directions. I'm sorry for what you went through. This must be a trying time for you and I can imagine how you feel. December is a crucial month and so people's eyes are red. Having said that, as per your letter indicating you accept responsibility, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE AND PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE let this go. Truly it was your fault so take it on the chin. Smile, pray about it and let it go. Don't act like Rambo and put your job on the line. If you think December is hard, wait until January when peeps are trying to adjust after xmas holidays and pay school fees at the sametime. I tell you that will not be a good time to bet out of a job. Even if you wish to leave, remember its better to get something in this obodo Naija than just letting go of what you have and folding hand. Don't do stuff that will make them fire you. LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! All the best. PS: I strongly agree with the people that have advised you to tender a letter of apology regardless of whatever the company decides to do. Even after you tender it, if they don't reverse their earlier decision, let it go. I would also have a word with the accountant you yelled at. Make peace with all men. |

amjoseph19: Are you ok It seems like you were deprived of such siblings love.
You called this suffering It is an opportunity. A very big one.
This type of scenario tends to create a super bond between siblings. As they are going to school everyday, they encounter challenges from crossing the road to fending off bullies. They tend to solve problems together, they sees their self as one. They may nag, quarrel and shout even fight with each other, but that's the inevitable process that leads to siblings love. I bet you, this boy will remember this moment as one of the best moments in his life. In general, it seems that this type of moments becomes more cherishable as you grow older.
I was born is such home, my parents weren't rich enough to put me in a school that takes children to school by bus. I trekked home, going and coming. Gutters that I couldn't cross, I was helped by my snr siblings, when am tired, they backed me just like the little child being back by his brother. Such opportunity did contributed in the strong love we are currently enjoying amongst siblings. I am and will always remain thankful to God for given us such opportunity.
Bro, you missed a lot, such moments are gold, they are priceless. Good for you and God bless your siblings but I side with Aguiyi; life shouldn't be so hard. Just because we are in a country like Nigeria where life is so tough, we adapt and think such life is okay. Sadly its not. |
