If you were to get second Africa citizenship, which country will it be and why?
I would choose Seychelles Islands OR Cote d'Ivoire just next to Ghana. I've visited the 2 countries and they have very serene atmospheres and neat environments. Observation of traffic lights and zebra crossing are key rules in both countries.

Seychelles is quite expensive but this doesn't take away the fact that the African country located in the Indian Ocean is lit with awesome islands and friendly people.

Though French-speaking, a lot of Ivoriens speak English as a second foreign language. Yoruba folks are many there as well engaging in local/cross border businesses and more. The Yorubas number more than 80 percent of any Nigerian ethnic group based on the Nigerian Embassy figures with most from the business-minded and entrepreneurial Ejigbo people in Osun State, Oyo folks, etc. Many have naturalized and speak fluent French in addition to Yoruba and the local languages. The Civil War though caused a set back but they have bounced back. The awesome city Abidjan is classified as the Paris of Africa. Right along the wide boulevard from the Airport to the Cocody District where I stayed on my first ever visit many years back was pure serenity and proper planning.

Maybe she is from Imo state.
She's ethnically mixed and Made was her school father in high school.
Her mother is an Ijaw from Delta State but her father is from Abia State, so this explains the origin of the Inedoye name which isn't an Ibo name.

Now, tell me a bit about Stephanie Inedoye Onyenso.
I was born in Lagos, I grew up in Lagos. I’m 24 going to be 25 next year. My mum is Ijaw from Delta State and my dad is Igbo from Abia State. And, I finished school in 2020. I started in UNILAG but had to go to university in Benin Republic because of strike. I graduated with a second class upper in English. Bachelor of Arts in English.

BitterTruth01:
Mention one Hausa and the many Yorubas that were affected

Everybody knows Okota is an Igbo dominated area .
Okota in Isolo is part of the larger Isolo Kingdom in Lagos State and Okota is the hometown of the Awori-Yoruba indigenes. Even some Edo families where already there along with the Yoruba indigenes as far back as the late 1980 long before any Ibos moved in,

The movement of Ibos into that area only started trickling in numbers after the year 2000 especially when there were relentless cases off kidnappings and armed robberies in the South East states of Anambra, Abia, Imo etc. and many Ibos even stopped travelling to the East of Nigeria. Some of the Ibos were even desperate to be called "land owners" that they went to build a mini estate in a swampy area of Okota that resulted into all the houses there to start SINKING and also getting flooded! The Lagos State government issued a quit notice to the Ibo residents because the construction was illegal but they started begging the government to give them time before carrying out demolitions.

Before I say one thing my wife has abused the hell out of me,she was such a calm and reserved person before we married, but today at the slightest of misunderstanding she begins the insult, even getting close to my face telling me to beat her,I have never laid a finger on her,but she is tempting me to do that. How can a woman calls a man fool, idiot, animal? I have reported her family severally and yet she is not changing.

I opened a boutique business for her last year, now she said she wants to sell baby things, and I have done it half way,I had to just prank her that the other money I was expecting hasn't come, immediately she began the insult again to my face,as it is the prank is getting real because I will not give her the money anymore
Let her leave so you can have the near-absolute peace of mind which most men crave for. She has to get gone ASAP before you both harm each other. Period.

I think it's the other way round.

Igbo girls allow only the wealthy yoruba men to marry them while the poor ones like you are left to marry the Yoruba girls. Do you see Igbo men going to marry yoruba girls? Mention Igbo men that you know that are married to yoruba ladies. But to the yoruba men, marrying an Igbo girl is like winning the World Cup.
There is NOTHING so special about Ibo women so, stop trippin.'

Statistics clearly show that 9 in 10 Yoruba guys get married to their delectable Yoruba women.

Same with the Ibo male and female marriages too based on evidence I gleaned years back from the Change of Name sections of Newspapers.

Of course it is well known that you Ibos avoid marrying the Ibos among you who you call the Osus or social outcastes and that is why in 2020, I recorded a phone-in program I was listening to online where a group of Ibo male and a few female callers based in Lagos and Ogun State were discussing the Osu and marriage as a topic and the Ibo men said sarcastically that it is the Ibo Osu families that usually get married to the Benue, Yoruba, and Hausa people. These conservative Ibo male callers identified themselves as being from Imo, Anambra States, Abia mainly.

So, yeah, it reaffirmed what I've known for years that Ibos of the South East don't marry outside their ethnicity in large numbers and any one who does is classified by the Ibo society as an Osu or from an outcaste family.

The creepy Ibo guys in the recorded phone-in program beamed live from Lagos even stated that any one from another ethnic group (Yoruba, Efik, Edo, etc) that marries an Ibo male or female Osu has also become an Osu by association according to Ibo tradition.

Yoruba men don't value their Yoruba girls ...always running away from their girls

Why will other tribes marry Yoruba girls
9 in 10 marriages are between Yoruba men and Yoruba women, so stop typing nonsensical FALSEHOODS here! This FACT is based on evidence I discovered years back and right till now from the Classified pages OR Change of Names pages in newspapers. When it comes to marriages, the Yoruba men still fancy a lot of romantic relationships with their Yoruba women from the statistics I've seen.

Only few Yoruba men [the 1 in 10] who probably are of mixed ethnicity tend to marry non-Yoruba women from around Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Also more Yoruba men are involved in mixed ethnic marriages than Yoruba women.

Too much talk is not too good for this government. We need very quick actions. By now we should have been sitting in some of the CNG buses. I remember those days when Abacha's Governemnt was been threatened with strikes by NUPENG. Abacha ordered about 1000 tankers from Mercedes Germany and they arrived within 6 months of the order. So what is all this talk talk
The individual Nigerian states are supposed to roll out these CNG buses after conversation of existing buses.

Just 2 days ago, Ogun State led by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (who is also an oil and gas business mogul with a deep knowledge of CNG) rolled out their own buses.

You can view these Ogun State CNG buses rollout on YouTube. Lagos State has also launched pilot electric buses this year in partnership with Oando.

The Niger Delta States of Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, etc, would be the immediate major beneficiaries of these CNG buses because of gas availability and that would lower the cost of food and transportation in those states.

Bendeco2020:
More than 99.99%?

And you called yourself a learned man undecided
Is it too difficult for you to understand simple mathematics and statistics?

In global population censuses and enumerations, 99.99% of a specific population group is a statistical FACT! This was clearly stated by the Ibibio gentleman (who was made the Head of Service of the secessionists). He wrote in his book memoirs that if given the opportunity in a referendum, [The Bonny-born Dr. Minabere Ibelema, the Alabama, USA-based media lecturer re-echoed these facts too in some of his articles] most of the ethnic minorities in the defunct Old Eastern Region would have REJECTED secession, but the fear of being killed made many like him to play along until Nigerian Federal troops finally liberated their homelands from the hands of the invading rebels and some of the ethnic minorities joined the Nigerian Army to fight the rebels.

More than 99.99% therefore means NEARLY all the ethnic minorities in the defunct Old Eastern Region were against secession because on May 27, 1967, General Yakubu Gowon had created 12 new states which included 3 from the Old Eastern Region based on the 1966 advice of the ethnic minority leaders led by the father of Ijaw nationalism, Chief Harold Dappa Biriye who was an indigene of Bonny Island and an ex-student of Kings College, Lagos Island, the Ogoni icon, Ken Saro-Wiwa and other Rivers leaders of thought (including traditional rulers) wanted States to be created for them to have their own separate state governments (and for the rest of Nigeria too), and that was wisely done by General Yakubu Gowon after series of consultations nationwide with distinct ethnic groups and traditional rulers.

So, the May 30, 1967 secession (Done just 3 days after General Yakubu Gowon created the 12 new states on May 27, 1967) and carving out of the homelands of the Niger Delta ethnic minorities by the young 33-year-old Ojukwu was very illegal and this is why the United Nations never recognized the so-called secession because the ethnic minorities where fiercely against it and also petitioned the UN.

Go and ask who is Ojukwu second in command. The problem with you Yoruba is that you people claim to be educated but lack fact.
Stop spewing FAKE information here on NL.

As a veteran of Nigerian Civil War history for decades now, I can state clearly here that it is you who are spreading false information and I enjoin you to read good Nigerian Civil War books and NOT the propaganda from Kanu and his pirate radio station.

More than 99.99% of the indigenes of today's Cross Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, and Rivers States REJECTED the forced illegal biafra secession from Nigeria in 1967. Philip Effiong who was an Ibibio man and was Ojukwu's senior in military rank was an isolated case for reasons best known to him. 99% of Ibibios rejected secession and till today, many families remember their loved ones who who brutally killed by rebels who termed them as saboteurs! Many people of the Niger Delta were conscripted to join the rebel fighters against their will during the exactly 2 years and 6 months Nigerian Civil War, and those who resisted like the iconic Ikwerre writer and officer in the Nigerian Army 3rd Marine Commando, Dr. Elechi Amadi were locked up and/or brutally shot dead by the Ibo-dominated rebels.

It was the liberation of Port Harcourt by the Nigerian Army 3rd Marine Commando led by Col. Benjamin Adekunle, Alani Akinrinade, Alabi-Isama, Ijaw officers such as Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, etc, that rescued Elechi Amadi from rebel prisons in PH. Elechi Amadi who was a military man prior to 1967 then joined the 3rd Marine Commando to fight the rebels.

This is the reason why all the ethic groups of the Niger Delta region from the Ijaws, Ogonis, Ikweres of Port Harcourt and environs, the Efiks, Ibibios, Annangs, Ejegbams, Ugeps, all teamed up to stay with Nigeria and fought galantly against the Ibo invasion and illegal merger of their ancestral homelands into the criminally created, non-UN recognized
biafra which was the REAL historical reason why the Nigerian Civil War took place in 1967.
No referendum was done and there was real anger after their people were forced into an illegal country to be dominated by the Ibos.

The Ladipo Plank Market is a Yoruba-dominated multimillion Naira plank market in Amukoko area of Lagos State, and NOT Ladipo Market in the Mushin area where you have Ibos, Yorubas and other ethnicities doing their trading activities.

These folks in potentially combustible and volatile markets with millions of goods or stocks have to be forced by the governments to get compulsory Fire extinguishers and Fire insurance henceforth. Otherwise, NO trading for them!

This is one case I would fully support an online petition to be made against the nomination of this irredeemable bigot
Brilliantly stated @Uniquewise. You put the whole situation in a very succinct manner. There is indeed a difference between "banter" and hardcore "disrespect."

Tbh, if it wasn't because of that young dude's very irresponsible X post in May 2023, sarcastic ally stating that Yoruba women "smell," [Which echoes some of the narcissistic, false beer parlor stereotypes of Yoruba women by some low self-esteem Ibo males that I have relentlessly seen on NL and online], I wouldn't have seen anything wrong in nominating the Obiene guy since it is a call to national service. The Internet truly NEVER forgets!

In any event I as a man would be glad to support any online petition to have this misogynistic bigot who is masquerading as a lawyer punished.

Femi Gbaja and his team, and indeed the DSS have to really do thorough online and offline background checks on potential nominees to avoid this kind of situation next time. It shows some sloppiness in the selection process.

She proceeded to defend herself by stating that she's not involved with anyone but herself, emphasizing, "It's my body, my choice."

The husband interjected, asserting, "I am your husband, and you should communicate with me." She then explained that she had asked her husband questions, but he never provided an answer, leaving her with no choice but to take action.

She told her husband that she knew her identity before he married her. You can watch and listen to the entire conversation .......lol

DrYa:
Haba, why all these bad advice...
We are in UK and we are all doing well to the glory of God.
If she got job as paramedic, great one for you...

Option 1.... she goes alone, take care of the child alone in Nigeria or get a female relative to help you, then join her maybe after 6 months or so.
She has COS I assume, hence you can always apply as dependent, you will get your visa.

Option 2...go with her to UK, you may not plan to work for now, let her do her paramedic job and you take care of baby at home. Bro, the money alone as paramedic will help all of you to survive well (na only 3 na, father, mother and small baby), even with bills, you will survive, just don't overdo/overspend, don't do what is not necessarily, dont eat/buy things not needed.
Moreover, its not like nigeria where you work without stopping, here you have a max number of hours to work in a week as per government rule, if you then decide to do extra, then you get your extra pay (I am talking about sponsorship jobs, not student visa)
She is also likely to do shift work as a paramedic, hence she would still be available sometimes depending on her shift, i(so it's not that bad)
Also when she is off work, you can do your own hustle.

Do you know that as at now £1 =1450-1500 naira?
Oga, don't dull yourself o..
But always remember to pray about any step you wanna take.
Shalom
