wilmafrancis: Hello,Good afternoon, Please before filling the ds 1 160 form,am i supposed to have booked for my flight and also the hotel I will be staying for the number of days in the u.s.a before hands or its when have gotten a date for my interview... Why am asking is because, what if i book ahead for flight and hotel and don't get a closer date ,please how do I go about this ,since am supposed to show them the address that i will be staying over there which happen to be any hotel I will be booking and also flight ticket of going and coming....pls I need inputs on this... is it when I get a date for my interview that am supposed to book ? I want to apply from the u.k to u.s.a. Many thanks Booking from the UK is VERY different from booking from Nigeria. I hope you're checking the embassy you looked for in filling the DS 160 is us embassy in the United Kingdom From what I remember booking appointment for dates is by paid phone call not online. There's no delay in getting dates in the UK Flight reservation and hotel bookings are not necessary. You should however know when you want to go and why. If you're a student then go to Intl students dept and get a letter confirming you're a student and the time you want to go on vacation. Also get bank statement to prove you can afford the trip'sbasic cost Note that if you're in the UK as a visitor that is on a visit visa then you're ineligible. If any other type of visa in the UK then yes you can apply |

profemebee: Finally caught up with all i have missed out on here...
Please, my fellow Nigerians, lets be careful with all the migrating without having money for Airbnb or hotel at least..
I'm tired of saying No to people when they ask if they can stay at mine..
I'm tired of looking like a bad person ....
It is really unfair.. saying No hurts a lot but i'm only trying to prevent long story later.. especially in this UK with smaller houses, cost of living, etc.
Also, it is better to say No than to promise to accommodate/support and then fail to do so... that's just evil.. Just say No from the start
It is better you read harsh responses here from people telling you the truth than to be exposed to the harsh reality of weather/financial struggle/renting issues/ etc........
Have a great week everyone Interestingly enough , this not wanting to be a bad person maybe why some ppl just don't pick up their calls when new immigrants arrive. They just ghost I think both the rejecter and rejecter need therapy in giving nos and receiving nos. Emotional blackmail is real. On a side note...sometimes it's the yes ppl you should be afraid of cos they may sell you 4000pounds pot. |

fkj950ax: You CANNOT get an appointment WITHOUT filing DS160.
You need the Confirmation Number that is generated AFTER you submit the DS160 to book appointment. I thought ppl could get an appointment without submitting DS 160. Though you'd have to update the confirmation number when you do submit the DS 160 |

Jeff0983: I don’t understand what you mean by this and what was wrong from what I asked , can I go earlier or it must be 15 minutes to the 11 am that is my time. I never go for UK visa biometric before so I’m asking to know what best to do. Because for my IOM TB test time 11 am but I went there by 9 am and was allowed to go inside for my test, maybe that will also be the case for visa biometrics Cos this is living in the UK thread You question should be with those applying for UK visa thread (whether student of visiting or whatever visa type) Abi no be biometric in Nigeria you dey talk |

iyaaliyah: Hello. Pls, is this possible? An unexpired old passport was used to fill DS 160 form but there is a new passport now. At the point of collecting the new passport, they didn't cancel the old passport. You know the usual 'cancel without prejudice'. Please note: 1. The old passport is not expired. It expires in 2024. 2. The old passport contains all previous visas and stamps. Can one still use this old passport for interview coming up end of the month? Old passport is already cancelled whether they stamped it or not. |

In calling out someone then you're calling out yourself As long as that account in was not opened by you then it is fraudulent. It doesn't matter what you paid the agent. As long as the account belonged to someone else who has no connection with you and did not consent to use of his account then it is fraud.
If you paid someone to produce funds you do not have them you consented to fraud. Just because you and others did not get the outcome you wanted makes the agent fake? Sometimes fraud works sometimes it does not. Whatever results you get you take it with that risk |

Samnigazz: I applied and paid online for the renewal; it took me about 3 months from the capture date to when I got the passport in my mailbox. I heard that it is faster now though. Someone reported that it took her less than 2 months to get it renewed. NIS has been clearing the backlog of passports in Nigeria and abroad so timelines are shorter. |

Kunleop: Good afternoon
I want to ask, my friend is making application for his mother but there was a mistake he made when he's doing his own application, like, when they asked about his mother name and date of birth, he made mistake with name and date of birth of his mother. The date of birth is 1970 but he filled 1965 while the name is *TAIWO AGEEbut he filled BASIRAT AGEE Although the mother bear the same name but on birth certificate is TAIWO AGEE.
is it going to have any implications ob her Visit visa. @dduchess90 and other gurus pls help. He was on cross road now If he has submitted then it's too late, If she should have to reapply, let her address the inconstancies in the additional info section. I thinks it's more weight for parents to be right on their own age than if the children know their parents right age. Many ppl don't know their parents full names until processes like this happen. Both of my parents wrote different names on my birth certificate than what they've actively used in their passports. So pls don't sweat it, even some parents don't know their birth date or year sotay many reference a military coup or some global event as a time to calculate estimates. Next time use the additional info section to address any guesswork |

He was recently called out, and I wasn’t surprised because my own message Dey e dm over 4 months now 😁.
Btw, if you try to tell me his dm is full bla bla bla, I’ll tell you it’s not true. Because I ran social media campaigns that brought over 300 messages daily for several months and every single person got their response. That’s because I needed to respond to them. ✌️ You needed to . He probably doesn't need to That I share things publicly doesn't mean I need to respond to private or public inquiries Especially if I'm not being paid for that time directly or indirectly |

lyndaoyewole: Good morning everyone. for sowp plus vv, can they buy one way tickets? how can they get cheaper tickets One way tickets are RARELY cheaper so there's no point. Cheaper tickets you have to try other airlines e.g African airlines Egyptair, Ethiopian airlines, Kenya air, Then note you might still need transit visas if they connect to some European countries. Lastly it will take longer by far to get there. |

Mannymanny: I’m sorry for bothering you with my question. I’m currently in the UK and planning on having my wife birth our second child in the US in 2 years time. We all have our B1/B2 visas. Does one need to have any form of US health insurance? Or let me ask, how do you all do it that the bills are within reasonable limits? I’m asking cos I know health bills in the US are ridiculously expensive. Cos these prices I’m seeing are quite cheap compared to what I’ve been hearing. I’ll appreciate your response and any pointers. Thanks. They pay cash. Costs for birth are not cast in stone so they can still pile up if there's a change or unexpected added services If you can find health insurance that covers birthing in the US explore it, else start saving money |

Rdfactor: Hi everyone.
Please, is there anyone here who have done an F1 visa renewal before? I need some guidance.
I have reasons to be physically present in Nigeria next month and my F1 visa also expires next month. I was told it’s possible to do Dropbox and have ur passport mailed to ur address in Nigeria while still in Nigeria. If anyone has done renewal before, I’ll like to talk. Thanks You can renew but I doubt they will deliver to your address. You'd have to pickup at DHL Lagos or Abuja. It's not called Dropbox it's called interview waiver , check requirements on the US embassy Nigeria site and follow prompts for interview waiver to book appointment. Interview waiver applicants can still be called for interviews so bare that in mind Your might want to consider getting it renewed in nearby embassies in Mexico or Canada instead. |

Rayhanna: These are really tough realities 🥺. The thought of the timing alone is stressing me out. Just like the op, i have three kids and we all live with my mum and sis. But, my bf is back in lag and we haven’t even officially gotten married. I need to come to lag, do the wedding and come back to file for him. And then the waiting begin… I’m hoping he’d apply for visit visa and hopefully he’s granted. That way he can also be visiting.
Do you think there are other options we can explore?? Applying for visit visa if he gets it all good whilst you wait. I don't know of any other option. |

Rayhanna: Was there a reason why she wasn’t able to file for her bf 1yr after? I’m also in the same dilemma that she why I’m asking. Kindly clarify if you know please. Some of things I recall she mentioned are everyday realities She just moved so she had to adjust, get certs apply for work. She had 3kids, moved in with her mum who also worked so she was limited in work hours she could do cos of the kids Time! To come back to Nigeria you'd need leave days which would mean scheduling who who would take care of kids whilst she away. My thoughts as well US is notorious for being stingy with leaves it's typically 10-15 days a year. So many people who have to make trips to Nigeria wait till they can accumulate enough leave days . That can take two years for most Money!; Shed be the primary sponsor so she'd need to prove the income threshold to file for him. If you add the above with the fact that in filing the new spouse becomes F2A and goes through the same wait as it is in Nigeria consulate. Filing-Petition approval-NVC-DQ-Interview, then these are realities |
