Wow
I went to eat at a mama put and some women got talking
The normal Ibadan hood women , traders and vendor
They said in their Neighborhood Yahooboys won't let them rest with Sounds of Generator from morning till night as they don't work, and they also go clubbing disturbing them at night
They said with subsidy removal atleast the money would go to power generation for the whole country and other infrastructure
If these women could understand it's Economic importance , I wonder why some educated folks are against it especially NLC boss
Nigeria has over 11,000 abandoned Projects
*Fix Ajaokuta with $1.2billion USD and Nigeria would become manufacturer of steel based products
*Complete Zhengeru Projects, Mabila dam with $500m and we have more power
*Build two Nuclear powered plant and like 5 coal plant and Generate enough power to sell accross west Africa
*Build monorail in all major city
*Build Inter state roads and rail
. You actually the on that's not educated. You are talking as if we have good leaders. If they build all those projects, what will they(politicians) benefit from it? Let's think like a Nigerian and stop fooling ourselves here. We know they will find another way to re-loot the funds because they know that if Nigerians have access to good life, during election period, they will not be able to buy them or sell tribal and religion cards to them. Nigerian leaders are evil including your Peter Obi. They are all birds of feather .#fact |

N3TRAL: I'm a bonafide south south boy but let's face it- based on those figures, APC no too chop Nigeria's money.
What Jonathan's administration spent for subsidy for 4 years is almost double what Buhari spent for 7 years.
If you divide Buhari's figure, it is lower than what Yaradua spent in 2 years and what Obasanjo spent in a year.
APC may have its problems but you have to admit that their subsidy figure is the lowest in the history of Nigeria.
The data also shows that Buhari's major problem may not have been misappropriation of funds but he couldn't run the economy well. The percentage the naira fell during Buhari's era is scary. Are you dense? How is 6trn naira plus higher than 7trn naira plus? What kind of nonsense and uneducated people full this forum?. I'm pissed 😡😡 |

I understand the Oba's view of interest, in drawing BAT's attention to his revered kingdom of Benin, and so doing, he's not wrong..
PS: I see some Igbos kids saying trash about the monarch (even you lots fail to understand from the king's angle), I spent quite a time in Benin and I can tell you that their people won't even batt an eye, while roasting you alive for disrespecting their monarch. But this is a faceless forum, so no problem..
You Igbos don't regard your elders and kings don't mean you should do the same to others. This is one of the major reasons why you guys are most hated and marginalised... You was making sense until I got to the last paragraph of your post. Wow, wah an unnecessary and uncivilized conclusion. Why generalize a whole tribe coz of some few miscreants? That's dumb conclusion. Igbos are respectful people, a goal getter, and also immensely contributing to the development of our dear country. |

- Rent - N108,333/mth (1,300,000/12) - Fuel for car - N180,000 (36k for 5-6days) - Auto maintenance - N30,000/mth (service/repair) - Fuel for generator - N50,000/mth (20ltr/wk) - Feeding - N62,000 - (N2,000/day) - Health miscellenous - N5,000/mth - Dstv - N4,500/mth - Data - N7,000/mth - Recharge card - N3,000/mth - Dry cleaner - N4,000/mth (Starch/iron) - Hygiene maintenance - N10,000 (body spray/perfume, roll on, soap, cream) etc.. - Gift to people - N10,000/mth - Family House contribution - N20,000/mth - Eko electric - N10,000/mth - repairs and maintenance - N12,000/mth - Clothing, footwear etc - N10,000/mth - Outings, restaurant, sit outs and provisions - N30,000/mth
Total = N556,500...
My rent is average rent for where i stay, its a two bed flat, i use the other room for home office..
Feeding is N2,000/day.. its not anything out of the ordinary.. tried cooking and spent more with time wasting.
Fuel for car is at the new rate of N500/ltr, my car is a 70ltr car tank..
Auto maintenance is basic brake pads, shocks, service 2mths, tire guage, police pr, tire purchase if any, minor touch ups etc... nothing major.
Fuel for generator is 20ltr/day (2hrs or less daily)
I need help.... how are you people doing it, what am i doing wrong? The rat race is killing me.. Health 5k? Data 7k and monthly feeding 63k is not possible if you reside in Lagos. On health, the cost of avoiding malaria in a month is over 10k, mosquitoes repellent and raids. If you mistakenly allow mosquitoes bite you, hospital charges minimum of 25k to treat malaria. If you want to rugged it, you will run malaria n typhoid test 2,500.. if God want help you, you will treat only malaria with 3k to 4k. If typhoid is inclusive, you will spend 10k or more. Your 5k budget is not feasible. 7k data for 30days? Data is expensive in Nigeria now, before if I sub 2k on my fone, it will last for a month, now the 2k is just a week or 5days. If you work from home, you must budget 20k minimum for data on your modem. I budget 30k for data and airtime monthly. 62k for food? Okay, no wife no kids, you good to go. How people are surviving now is by God's grace. I no longer budget for the month, we spend as the spirit leads in other to avoid high BP ..lol |

manoflove22: i started dating my girlfriend last year December, we barely see each other because of her strict father, even there was time her father threatened me to leave her daughter.
Even if we got to see it will be in a public place around her house
And this have been for all these while and i try to talk her into it that i can't date a girl i can't spend quality time with her and she never visits me, claiming my place is far
Now last month, there's a girl, a friend to her in my area, i showed interest to her, she questioned me that what about her friend but i told her we are not dating that she is not serious
So this new girl have been showing care,we have been making out together and deep down in me this is all i wanted, a girl that show she cares not a girl we barely see each than calling.
fast forward to yesterday, i don't know what they discussed, my first girlfriend told her that she saw me yesterday and we are still dating, which make my new girlfriend became angry, she called me shouting that I'm a lair that we are dating, to cut the story short i just had to assured and told her if by any chance she see my first girlfriend she should told her not to call me again.
This evening my first girlfriend called me and told me we should end it that her friend told her all i told her
Incredibly, i never expected my new girlfriend to tell her such but just a simple assurance
Now the issue here is hope i haven't caused a fight between two friends and i love my first girlfriend

Afodot0022: Honestly divorce is even more harder to deal with cos seperating from the person you gave your whole to and spend your life with is difficult to handle. Seeing them again trigger lost of mixed emotion difficult to deal. Fine maybe cos i still love my wife reason am going through this rollercoaster of emotion but i know with time am gonna be fine and move on with life. She has really mess up thongs in this marriage and given this a chance again will make it look like am stupid and dumb. Someone that cheated and forgave her and give her a second chance and still went ahead to unblock the person in order to continue from where they stop. Its annoying. This shows she has no regards for me or the union itself. I just want her to learn bitterly from her lesson thats all. Cheated and you forgive her? Most people don't deserve second chance. It's hard agreed, but you should be conscious of your mental health. Look at it from this perspective, if anything happened to you today, she will get custody of your daughters, and still go ahead to marry that man he cheated with under same roof with your kids. You have to be a man, clean up, and focus on your girls for now. It's natural for you to want to have sex one in a while. Social media makes it easier now, get a friend with benefit. Pay and knack and move on. Please don't think of going into another relationship for now. Focus on yourself and your girls. You will be fine las las. If I were in your shoe, God forbid, I would not marry again. Will make sure I give my girls all the support they need and enjoy my life to the fullest. Marriage na sweet huge stress.. It's your cross, you have to carry it well and forget about you ex wife. |

DownTime44: https://www.nairaland.com/7686172/been-restless-having-chat-elder
All thanks to everyone for their immense contributions towards my elder brother predicament. This place is truly home away from home. For those getting to know or who just come across this thread, you can read through the link posted above to get a grasp of where I'm coming from.
Someone sent me a mail having gone through my post and we both shared contact. He works on the island and he was willing to absorb my elder brother into his organisation. It's an organisation where one learn a skills and get paid monthly. Then after being certified in your skills, you can be employed as a full staff into the organisation. He would be given #20,000 monthly as stipend while learning as an apprentice but the man promised to be adding #10,000 to it making a total of #30,000 monthly. This person didn't know me from Adam but was touched by my brother's condition and he developed interest in helping him in his own little way. He asked me to inform my elder brother and get back to him.
I discussed everything to my brother verbally. Infact, i relate everything to him in my mother's tongue for ease of communication. I asked him if he has any interest in the offer and he said yes. He has interest. He's very much interested. He said he'd specialised in plumbing. I reached out to the man and we both finalise everything. He asked my brother when would he love to resume and he said month end. After the call, i asked him why month end and he said he doesn't have anything. He needs to get some few clothes, toiletries and some money for upkeep. I asked him where would he get money from less than 2 weeks to month end. He claimed if he can see any bus to work with. I told him you've been out of job going to a year, you didn't get any bus. Why do you think you'd get a bus within a short space of time? I asked him what if i rally round for him, is he willing to resume before the month end, he said yes with happy face. I borrowed #10,000 from a friend, i had #5,000 left with me, making a total of #15,000. I gave him 2 pairs of trousers and shirt i had. He bought a small school bag of #3,000 to put his clothes and he left in two days time. That was last week Wednesday. Oh! God, i was the happiest man on earth that very day.. I was so happy for him believing that he would become somebody from there. I called him to know if he has gotten there and how the work was. He said everything was fine.
I was surprised to see my brother at home on Friday, two days after he left. I asked him hope all is well? He said yes. I asked him why did he came back home so soon considering the cost of transportation to island. He was given a room he'd put up with. I expected him to stay there and focus on his job, whenever i have any money i would send to him. The man that helped him with the job called me later in the day. He narrated the gross misconduct of my brother. My brother left the job on Friday during working hours. The work is Monday to Saturday. Though Saturday is half day. He explained every details of the job to my brother before he resumed work. My brother was assigned to someone else to work with, not directly the man that helped him. The man only came to check up on him daily to know how he's fairing. The man was there when my brother took his bag, headed outside with the claim that he was going home. The man told him he can't go home now till after work, which is on Saturday. My brother didn't listen to the boss he was assigned with nor the man that helped him. He left right in their presence.
They do give daily report, and the man he was assigned with reported that he doesn't have anyone to work with, particularly on Saturday. The management asked him about my brother assigned to him and he said he has left on Friday. My brother was dismissed for his attitude. I pleaded to give him a second chance, but the man said it was beyond his power. The management has decided. I asked him to report there today and apologise for his gross misconduct. He went but apology wasn't accepted. If i was the man that helped my brother with this job or if i was among the management. I would do the same thing. I'd gladly lay him off without thinking twice.
My mother had been crying having heard the outcome of everything. I myself had cry my eyes out, all because of this my elder brother. I am fed up. The burden is too much. I might be tempted to harm him living under the same roof with him. I had been trying to console my mum but she wouldn't listen. Landlord came to harass her last week, the very day my elder brother left, because of house rent. I had 3 younger siblings to look after. Here comes my elder brother problem again. I am responsible for all of these with my meagre pay. I don't know what else to do for this guy. I don't think i can put up with him anymore. I am tired. Why is this life full of problems? I am losing my mind completely. It's painful but it's your cross, you have to carry it . To all those people advising you to forget everything about him, they are kids or possibly don't have family members. Please exercise patient with your brother. What he actually need is rehabilitation not work. He was a former motor park boy(conductor) he was used to the life of smoking and drinking all sort of things. According to you, he has been doing this job for almost 2 decades, it will be very difficult for him to switch without proper rehab. How do you expect a bank staff of over a decade to jump on conductor job, and be comfortable with it? Samething applies to your bro. Please keep praying for him, and assure your mum that all things will be fine soonest. The thought of poisoning him, please erase it totally from your mind. If you try it, I can assure you that you will live the rest of your life regretting your action. Let him be for now, and advice him to move closer to pastor if he is a Christian or Alfa . Everything will be alright. |

Christianity Etc › Re: I Cautioned My Pastor To Stop Mounting Marriage Pressure On Today by Tadeus(m): 10:10pm On May 18, 2023 |
Saviola86: So today I had to call my resident pastor to order.
I am a 30yrs old guy and in a relationship with a lovely lady of 25. It's been 6 good years together building and improving ourselves.
I come from a family where nobody mounts pressure on anybody especially on marriage issue. My parents are so liberal that they trust our judgements and allow us to marry from anywhere we find love despite fact that we are igbos.
I and my fiancee have been through different stages of life because she was 19 when we met, I was a dead broke ass graduate then without a job and still going from one interview to the other. I was so broke that my young fiancee then was the one giving me money to go for the interviews (she was running her mom's store then). Aside that she would bring food and sometimes get me clothes. When I say I was broke, I mean totally broke
God did it I secured a job of 60k a month and a year later got a more improved job of 100k. I don't drink and don't spend recklessly, I was able to save and began a POS business which my fiancee 20yrs as at then was running for me in her mom's store while I was working. To Cut long story short, my fiancee is in her 300L now in school while I have ventured into other business and I can say I make about 500k monthly combined.
On reason why I caution my pastor, in church I am one of the youth leaders and a key figure and most of my friends or mate in the ministry are married and my resident pastor took it upon herself to always use me for jokes or call my name from the alter to go and marry.
You'd here bro sososo go and marry and the congregation will laugh, during meeting you will hear word like don't be like bro sososo who wants to become a grandpa bachelor.
Once any member marries you will hear bro sososo we are waiting ooooo.
Like I don't find that funny, she is mounting unnecessary pressure on me which I don't like. Will she be the one to take care of my family?
Sometimes she goes as far as introducing a sister in the church to me.
So today I had enough, called her after service and told her my mind. I know she will feel disappointed but for my mental health I needed to put a stop to that rubbish.
My friends in church are married and to be sincere they look like shadow of themselves.
My fiancee is in school, she was there with me during tough times, she built and grew with me and even in school she is also learning a trade and preparing for life after school. We agreed to marry immediately after she graduates (next year) and so far everything is going as planned Well done, you have done well for yourself. Please don't let anybody to push you to settle down. |

She want me to pay her brideprice or else she will tell my wife. If only I had control my manhood I would have not found myself in this terrible situation.
What should I do now mature advice please? Just mistakenly pay her bride price, and mistakenly get a nice apartment for her. Every month ending, some part of your salary or earnings will mistakenly go to her. Good luck |
