I think you put her in an awkward situation which is probably why she didn't answer definitively to you when you first asked her out. You're her boss, how do you want her to just be like "NO! I won't go out with you." Of course she's going out with you now because she doesn't want to be out of a job. I don't think it was right of you to put her in that situation. She would feel some pressure no matter what to go out with you because you're her supervisor and pretty much have her future in your hands. If she really wanted to be with you in a serious/permanent way, she'd have ended things with her boyfriend. I don't want it to be like I'm saying everything is your fault and you're a bad person or anything, love/lust/sentiment/whatever is complicated. But at the same time, you have to recognize that this may not be the right girl or the right time for the two of you. Of course, I'm just saying this is how it looks from the outside. Only you and her know the truth of what's there (or not there) between you two. But just be careful you're not getting into the harrassment/cohersion realm. music0286:Things to think about: 1.) Why would you happily go out with a girl that is obviously with another guy and think YOUR relationship with her was permanent? 2.) What kind of friends do you have What kind of rotten advice is that? |
I think guys do it all the time because you don't need schooling to be good at sex which is mostly what most guys want out of a relationship. But for me sha, I don't think so. Maybe if he's making attempts to remedy the situation but I doubt it, what would we talk about? I agree that illiteracy doesn't mean lack of intelligence but at the same time, it says something about the guy and our lack of compatibility, if he hasn't made any effort to become literate/improve himself intellectually. |
Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover- Sophie B Hawkins |
It's an okay song. |
The Potential Breakup Song - Aly & AJ |
Just Dance- Lady Gaga Angels on the Moon- Thriving Ivory Crush- David Archuleta |
KarmaMod:No, not at all. But I am saying "I Wanna Get Sedated" is about getting high and "Baby I love you" is about well. . . love, and "Surf City" is about Matthew McConaughey (a.k.a. sex, pot and the beach). As for Coldplay, I heard someone referring to their music as Musak (y'know like elevator/ambient music) today and I totally had a public solitary lol like a mad person in a nollywood movie. |
@ ofokasibe, what kind of songs do you mean ![]() @ topic, Nessun Dorma- Pavarotti which just turned into I Was Born to Make You Happy- Britney Spears. Shuffle is a magical thing. |
I don't think it's necessary to announce it just like that; it will only hurt her feelings. After all are you perfect in every way yourself? Do you do everything well? Cooking is obviously not her (natural) talent but let's say you know the way you like your food and you can cook, just tell her that you want to cook something for her and as you're cooking say something like "o this is how i like to make my such-and-such" and get her to help out and take part and she might learn what you like that way. Or you can say gently suggest that it might be a fun thing for her to enroll in a cooking class to expand her repertoire/meet new people/learn to make you guys' fave foods so that you can eat out less. Whatever it is, say it gently don't be like: "I don't like your cooking." If all else fails and the cooking situation is not a make or break thing you can do the cooking and/or eat food from outside all the time. |
We eat dinner together as a family every night on weekdays and on weekends, we eat lunch and dinner together. It's been like this since I was really little. |
Yes o. I think that's the one that they're both fighting for a music competition and a guy or something. I think Omotola is in it and there's also a Ghanaian actress. Rihanna and Beyonce are apparently very popular Ghanaian names because I've watched several Ghanaian movies where the main actress is a Beyonce or a Rihanna. ![]() |
KarmaMod:No problem. I recognize they're emo/pop-punk, I still like them. But I do think that pop-punk IS a relevant punk sub-genre so I guess we disagree there. The Ramones were (pop) punk but they didn't necessarily sing about social change. I know a lot of people like Coldplay but to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Coldplay at all. They're songs are all a little funeral dirge- sounding even when the themes are upbeat; I think it's Chris Martin's whiny, somewhat unearthly voice that grates on me after a little. @ Spiked Cylinder, not many people I know, know the Moldy Peaches. They're a little weird but funny, I like them though I haven't really listened to any of their newer stuff. I used to creep my brother out when I was in secondary school singing "These Burgers Are Crazy" and "My Name Is Jorge Regula" in that eerie zombie emotionless voice. About rock being the um "music of the devil": I think some of it is actually demonic (like death metal and black metal) because sometimes specific artists profess to worship the devil and it comes across in their songs. However, it's incredibly stupid to say all rock music is devil music. There's devil-worshiper folk music too. In my second year of undergraduate study, my neighbour was a satanist and her religious music was more folksy than heavy metal. Of course, I just tried to avoid her either way. |
I don't know if it's the same guy you're thinking about, but on Daniel Bedingfield's first album, the song called "Right Girl" featured someone called Jahaziel (who did the rap part, I think). |
Ashlee Simpson- La La |
Just Dance- Lady Gaga |
Shaz:Na wa o. What does oil do? I'm not a big fan of roll on or spray deodorants because I feel like roll on dries in a weird way on my skin and I don't really like aerosol/metal can smell of deodorant spray. I like the Dove go fresh Ultimate Clear solid stick because it doesn't leave marks on your clothes and everytime you raise your arms during the day you get a little burst of fresh scent and it's pretty effective against sweaty pits. |
American Idol Season 8 (this is my crack.) America's Best Dance Crew Lie To Me (surprisingly good, but I'm just waiting for them to yank it like they always do with new shows I like <clears throat> Bionic woman ) True Blood Top Chef Real Housewives of Orange County (it's such a dumb show but it's like a car crash, I can't stop watching!) The City (not as hot as The Hills but it's ok). |
Where exactly would he go? The only Premiership club that is likely to shell out the high amount of money that Chelsea would undoubtedly ask for would be Man City and let's face it, that would be a particularly dumb move since the only premiership clubs worth moving to from Chelsea are Man Utd (which is unlikely because of bad blood), Arsenal (which is unlikely because he's too old for their "young team" and besides they'd never shell out the kind of money required), or Liverpool (abi na beans? The PIC [psycho-in-charge] there will never get his act together for that besides Obi is not Spanish so. . .) As for Europe, well, maybe |
Chelsea FC- Turning Nigerian players in England into accused criminals since 1999 (remember Babayaro and the rape situation)! |
When I'm happy or in a really good mood, I listen to bubblegum pop and top 40 hits, usually the more up-beat ones. When I'm working out, I listen to slow music/sappy music/break up songs, I don't know why, somehow I like the contrast between physical activity and depressing music. I think it keeps the heart rate down somehow. When I'm homesick/nostalgic for the past, I listen to Nigerian music and songs that remind me of childhood and secondary school (like Motown hits for childhood, and Spice Girls, N*Sync, Westlife etc for secondary school). When I'm sad or feeling down or misunderstood or just generally pissed off, I listen to rock music- the angrier the music, the better. When I want to sing-along, I listen to punk, because the lyrics are guaranteed to be ridiculously emo and thus, incredibly funny. Or I might just listen to whatever I've played the most in the last week irrespective of genre because I'm likely to remember it best. |
I know quite a few rock fans in Lagos. My brother listens almost exclusively to hard rock. I like all sorts of music myself from bubble gum pop to R&B to country to Rock and Punk. Rock is my "nobody-understands-me"/ "I'm-mad-at-the-world" mood music. Some of my favorite rock and punk musicians are: Rock Three Days Grace Thriving Ivory Buckcherry Three Doors Down Third Day (christian rock band) Red Hot Chilli Peppers Seether Punk Home Grown Mest Fountains of Wayne Bowling for Soup The Starting Line Good Charlotte Fall Out Boy |
These are the 6 songs that I've listened to since I signed into Nairaland this evening: Superhuman- Chris Brown Angels on the Moon- Thriving Ivory Hot n' Cold- Katy Perry Just Dance- Lady Gaga Break the Ice- Britney Spears Crush- David Archuleta |
I don't know why I cringe extra-hard when the black people are bad. Then that Nigerian girl at the beginning of tonight: Adeola or whatever. . . shamed us all. Thank God she respected herself and didn't mention Nigeria. The last girl from Puerto Rico (who sang "I want to dance with somebody" , I didn't understrand why there was a dispute about her and how Paula dared to say no to her after saying yes to some semi-trainwrecks. |
That Nigerian girl in Kentucky they showed briefly,Obi-something!!! What the eff was that?!? |
No matter how much it's doing me, I won't freak out externally. I don't like scenes. I will say thank you and announce that neither one of us feel that we can marry the other and that we're sorry for wasting everyone's time. And then we'll all go to the reception. Then that evening, after everyone has gone, I'll probably cry and die from embarrassment (IN PRIVATE)! |
I'm surprised that he's waiting till now when Drogba is having a spell of razzness to make this comment. I mean maybe in Drogba's glory days, it would have made sense but now when Drogba is so off?!? Na wa o. ZUBY77:ROTFLMAO. I want him myself. Am I in with a chance I doubt I'm that much less likely than enyimba!!! |
Ok so it is one of three things: 1.) She only wanted sex from you and has lost interest. 2.) She didn't want to become the talk of your street. 3.) She realized you only wanted her for (marathon) sex and cooking and maybe she didn't see a future in that. By the way, I very much doubt you're in love with her. You're a guy and you like food and sex, it's pretty simple. |
Your relationship is very simple: Obviously you feel like you should be getting something in return for putting out, and he doesn't feel the same way. Is there an emotional connection? It doesn't seem to me that there's much more than sex/his appreciation of your body to your relationship and his refusal to help you out. So IMHO you guys are probably not going to work out in the long run anyway unless of course there's something to the relationship other than sex and his doing stuff for you. One of you will soon get tired and end it if this is the case; hopefully you'll be the one who's tired first. |
