Q: Are Nigerian Guys Romantic? A: They can be. At times, suspiciously so. |
@topic I think once it's over, it's over. I don't really understand all these post-relationship friendships; I always think they're a bit funny because they're never normal: it's always like flirting practice or friends with benefits. I'm in the "move on" crew, I don't think it's always a good idea to hold on to the past. And the random contacting after months because "you miss the person." To me it's awkward and just strange and out of the blue. Unless the "missing" is mutual; and even then, I don't believe in getting back together unless the initial breakup was over something dumb and not like a serious issue because if it was a serious issue, it's come up again and it's a waste of everyone's time really. |
Heartbroken? come on y'all had won about 4 or 5 Premier Leagues before that and have won 5 or 6 since then now thats just plain greedy! Yeah you have a point but Villa's case is very very obvious and most members of the top 4 usually can survive for a long stretch without key players same can't be said for clubs outside that bracket O'Neill has done a good job there though with limited cash as well this is something our West London Brothers could learn from
There's no greed when it comes to football. It's never enough, man!!! I always want more. That season was soooo depressing. You guys should just admit that your child labour scheme alone will not work and do some shopping for experience in the transfer market. dayokanu:I know, right?!? They're depending on them to eff up so they can get ahead. It's a little sad (well, happy for me to see how pathetic), but they needn't worry, they'll probably make it to the CL next season (or at least the new playoff-like thingies). Or not. ![]() |
Hmmm: 30 Rock, The City, ABDC (which is coming back yay!), All the other crap on MTV, The Comedy Central Presents Series, American Idol, Top Chef, Chelsea Lately. |
(for girls) Do something for your guy. Its always really tacky when people are like "he only got me such-and-such" but then they got him nothing at all. Don't complain to the guy about the gift he gets you. At least not on Vals day; you can always gently bring up his gift-giving skills later. It's just really rude and bad-mannered to be complaining about ANY gift when it's given. (for guys) Do try to pretend like you're not expecting wild sex as a return for your romantic gesture. You ARE probably going to get it, but no one likes to feel like a forgone conclusion. Don't wait to the last minute and then buy those plastic flowers from Mobil. We know it's from Mobil and that it's a last minute thing. Also, don't OVERspend (like you're trying to buy her affections) or UNDERspend (like it's last minute and you forgot); just be thoughtful about the gift; you may not even need to spend at all if you think it through and you have time to plan. |
OMG!!! So excited. AI is my ish. Although I hate this auditions part. I've been cringing the entire time because I'm so embarrassed for the people who aren't embarrassed for themselves but need to be. |
I don't think breakups have to be mutual. Obviously it's a lot nicer if they are, but if it's over for one person, it's over. I do think that OP should man-up and break up in person and explain why, especially after 3 years. It's not ok to do it by text. You do that with hook ups, not with someone you actually dated. That's just a really uncool and disrespectful thing to do. |
I agree with everyone. Too many people say love and heartbreak just anyhow. It's become ridiculous. |
SeanT21:But can there honestly be full on sex going on? I mean even with Viagra, you know? From the show alone, it doesn't seem like it, but I guess you never know. Ah well . . . I think they're supposed to be doing another season though, I wonder what that will be about. As for the twins, I wasn't a fan from what I'd seen of them from this season. |
SeanT21:I think Kate Winslet certainly had the better role. But there WERE a few shady wins though, I agree. |
Really!! All i watched was Bundesliga and Serie A the Premiership was too monotonous for my liking Utd where always winning so to me it was a very boring league but hey you are a Utd fan i don't expect you to complain about that Villa are a good team but besides the few standout players they have i still feel they are short in some areas O' Leary was just disaster they where a mid-table or dangerously close to relegation type of team
Arsenal won my 1st year of watching premiership. I was soooo heartbroken. I've never forgiven you guys. I think what you're saying about Villa can be said about most teams i.e. a few standout players and then squad players to make up the numbers. I think outside the established top 4 (i.e. MALC) and even within some of those (top 4) teams, that's what you get: Expensive wheat (as much as you can afford) mixed in with a lot of chaff, and then you hope for the best. I definitely think Villa is one of the better teams in the Premiership at least since O'Neill took over. |
This show is totally my guilty pleasure. Holly SeanT21:I thought Bridget was the only one still at the house with the twins? Maybe I'm wrong. |
Vonny:I agree. The appropriateness of the age difference depends on how old you guys are. For example 16 and 24 is NOT okay but 24 and 32 could work I guess. So it depends. |
Is anyone else watching the 's right now? Why does it look so cheap and poorly organized. Like one can hear every sound from the tables. See someone carrying a chair sef. Razz Razz Razz. |
Wow that is deep!! Premiership to me was crap as at 1998/1999 sha so i am suprised you know these cats I think Villa would eventually run out of gas they don't exactly have that depth and any form of injuries to Agbonlahor and Ashley Young alone would cripple that team the question is would Arsenal take advantage although i would like to add that based on Chelsea's spanking today i think we Villa and Chelsea would be in that dog-fight
OMG no not at all. That was my 2nd premiership watching season and I was sooooooo very madly in love with John Gregory (until he turned out to be a bit of a shite, . ah well). Premiership was fun in those days, man. Like I remember Bryan Robson (who was at Boro at the time- 99/00 season) had an affair with one chick that was an anchor on Sky Sports news who had a broken leg and his wife nabbed them in the act in bed in a hotel and then beat the Sky Sports chick with her crutches. That's like my best non-football related football-related moment ever! And of course 98/99 was treble year (that fateful night in Barcelona) and THAT Giggs goal in the FA cup versus Arsenal. Also Villa are not a bad team. They're like a 6th place sort of team y'know or at least top half. If anything their razz years in the early 00s were an abberation. It was Graham Taylor and David O'Leary that did them wrong. |
If she's not playing games, "let's be friends" is just a nice way of saying "I don't want to be in a relationship with you but I feel bad just saying that because you're a nice guy and so I'm going to be nice and throw you a bone (i.e. friendship)." Effing may or may not be included depending on if she's "that kind of girl" (FWB) or not. |
Plusses and Minuses for Both Sides from the match Manchester United: Positive: We won 3-0 Negative: We only won 3-0, it should have been more. Chelsea: Positive: Well, Drogba was really active in the game! Negative: He sucked! |
Cristalz:I don't think I can imagine Park and brilliant in the same sentence ever. To be fair, I only watched from about the 35th minute to the end (Sopcast issues) and I didn't see him being anything other than his usual _____ self. JT IS incompetent and has been so for most of the season. I've never been a big fan of Park's though and I guess I just didn't see anything to convince me otherwise today. Someone like Vidic made me proud to be a red today, but then he always turns it out for the most part. Even Giggs (with his old legs) was really amazing today, totally on point! I certainly would not rank Park above them. But I suppose we can A2D. superstar1:I don't dispute he's very good at running around a lot but I saw more of the same _____ from him (falling too much and too easily tackled), but again I guess we can agree to disagee. In any case we won so yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I don't have a problem with a guy carrying a nice manbag. |
Angry and disturbed (little man) is right. Personally, I would have just summarized and said "psychotic" or "moronic" but I guess that's why I'm not a Sir. (well at least one reason why ) |
superstar1: Emperoh:Wait!!! Do you really mean Park as in Ji-Sung Park?!? Na wa o. Park who-can't-stay-on-his-feet-and-must-lose-the-ball Park Wow! |
I think a few years ago like in the late 90s, (I want to say like 98/99 season) they were 1st for a while when they had John Gregory as their coach, but they dropped the ball then too. Of course I think Martin O'Neal is a much better coach so, . |
Who cares what pathetic Benitez in his ill-fitting suits has to say?!? Like really, who gives an eff?!? He should mind his market, that's my advice to him, mind his market and try to beat teams like Stoke so that maybe in the end he can even have a hope of CL next season <hisses>. What's his business, was he playing United next? Big fool. He's going down! |
In fact sef it should be 4-0! Ronaldo wasn't offside! Come on boys!!! |
I think a person should only marry someone they can respect and it seems like you're a little embarrassed about/ashamed of your guy's english. I don't think its only people talking that is bothering you, I think you are also bothered by the way he speaks and his not matching your education (you said that he's not what you envisioned for yourself). I'm sorry to tell you, usually if by SSCE his English is not what you like, by university, it probably won't be either. I've encountered lots of graduates who still don't speak gramatically-correct English. I'm not saying that it's impossible to learn, I'm only saying it has to be a priority for him also because it's not at all that easy to just one day change a lifetime of grammar and English-speaking habits. As for your situation, you need to decide whether you can get past his educational shortcomings, if deep down it's still bothering you, then marriage may not be the best idea for now because if you're already a little ashamed of him, you'll eventually resent him and then it will turn to constant fighting (because of male ego and female disappointment issues) and it will be a mess. Reconcile your issues before looking at that next step. Is he going to go to school in the near-ish future? Can he do it part-time if he needs to work (one of my relatives did that)? For you which is the bigger problem: his missing higher education? or the way he speaks english? You've already invested 3 years into this so that means you need to really talk about it with your guy and think things through, but at the same time, don't because of 3years tie yourself to someone you're already having issues; a lifetime is wayyyyyyy longer than 3years. |
Eastbay:Again Paine played for Southampton and only one other club as far as I know. I think like somethings-ford, sha one of those clubs that has never smelled top-flight football. The only top club he's played for is Southampton. As for your Soccer Africa pundit analysis, I'm rotflmao. You're exactly right!!! |
