BusinessWay Forward On Loans And Venture Capital by tEsLim(op): 7:20pm On Apr 28, 2007
Almost a year now looking for venture capital, I've typed and retyped business plans. They tell me its fantastic, couple of meetings we reach conclusions.

Then its like 'Bros how far now? - where the money wey you promise'

Investor 'See I need to review that marketing part very well wit you'

Me- bros how far? i don even get new marketing plans. Check you email - See am'

Investor - 'men this is fantastic! You're so intelligent, but why dont you write 30pages more'

Me- ok(ies)

Investor 'See the partnership thing always make me feel uncomfortable, did say loan plan or equity investment? Pls remind me'

Me (Thinkin in my mind) 'Another f~cking lamer, just waisted my time, plus all the additional free consulting I did for you!'

Well finally I have a solution to this problem. It has worked in the Us, Uk and Europe. I need support of people from the forum. It'll work fine, to benefit a lot of ppl.

Its called 'Angel Investor Network'

Pls go to wikipedia.com and read about 'Angel investors' then we'll continue topic from there

BusinessRe: What Do You Want From Abroad? by tEsLim(m): 6:15pm On Apr 28, 2007
Last season colognes. If the price is better than the 3years old colognes in shoprite.

Urban gears, white t's, air force ones, cleanly used. Factory reject designer cloths wit non-noticeable faults. Not mass pro! If you always have someone coming home, I need to buy some hiphop bling bling for to froze my neck, wrist and ear. And some for my babe. smiley

Cos a friend of mine used to buy me last season cloths cheaper than anythin i can get in naija.

FamilyRe: At What Age Did You Stop Bedwetting? by tEsLim(m): 5:52pm On Apr 26, 2007
No! I think he/she is just tryin to give testimony of how she overcame it. I stop bedwetting at 12. Its was real hell. Cos it was embarrassing spreadin my blankets and bed in the sun. Later I just wont use the bed. I sleep on the floor wit blankets, so it dries easier. Though I dont bed wet outside my home. I dont sleep!

FamilyRe: What Do You Call Your Dad? by tEsLim(m): 7:21pm On Apr 23, 2007
When we where small we called him daddy. Then later popsy, but he didn't like that. So we shortened it wit the snoop dogg craze in town and started calling him 'pizzle'.

He likes that. Because he even wrote it on a note.

And my mom we call her 'aunty mi'. Because her younger one leaved wit us when we where kids smiley. But is we grow we got ashamed and coded it to 'timmy'

@ the other porter. If its gonna be generic what stuffs will you want to buy from motherland.
AdvertsNigerians Abroad, What Do You Want! by tEsLim(op): 4:31pm On Apr 21, 2007
I'm currently working on an ecommerce project, where we'll be selling stuffs for Africans abroad. And from my own point of view I always like focused business.
I.E
Amazon.com = books
ebay = auction

Instead of selling everything, anything & something on an online stores.

Please I want to know what type of stuff that is worth waiting and paying its shipment to Nigerians abroad.

What we want is a site that cares for what Africans abroad miss from thier homeland

* African fabrics and accessories
* african books
* african made crafts, could be hand made.
Etc

The main product of the online store have not been disclosed here. I want to confirm it is a need, when one of the respondant to this post triggers a demand close to it.

Please I need your inputs
BusinessRe: Are There Any Good Toyshops In Lagos by tEsLim(m): 10:09am On Apr 21, 2007
There are no exclusive toy shops like you have toy r us. Its a good business atleast if you can beat the chinese price around
BusinessRe: Opening A Pharmacy by tEsLim(m): 10:05am On Apr 21, 2007
2million naira is enough to start a pharmacy. Renting a big shop in a good location in Lag wont cost more than 250k for two years.

The problem you'll be facing is unfair competition with (Ibgo boys) so called chemists around the neighborhood selling fake/expired an relabelled drugs cheaper.

I've once taken tetracyclene capsules that is filled up with baby food or some unexplainable powder.
BusinessRe: Visit Of Indian Business Delegation To Lagos Nigeria by tEsLim(m): 9:16pm On Apr 20, 2007
I'm sorry, I dont mean to flame your post. But Indians dont accept us like that in thier country. Not to talk of how they come to Nigeria to exploit hardworking citizens.

All these ppl should be put to check. I think I'll blame the government. How will a worker work for 2years, and you still tag him as casual staff. Pay them 500bulks per day to work thier butt out caring metals. But they personally use forklifts.

BusinessRe: How Can A Business That Is Already Successful In Reaching Their Local Market Ext by tEsLim(m): 2:38pm On Apr 19, 2007
Transferring previous offline marketing/ad techniques to an internet brand seldom works. This what a lot of people failed to realize in the early days of ecommerce, which resulted in the dot-com bubble burst.

Please i recommend you read. '11 immutable law of internet branding' by Al Ries.
BusinessRe: How To Reach Nigerians Abroad by tEsLim(op): 12:40pm On Apr 19, 2007
For business reasons I might not be able to disclose what the store will be selling for now.

But they're worth waiting for. And they have a flat shipping rate. It cost almost the same fee to ship all the items we'll be cataloging.

And Uk or Usa partner is very needed. It cant be ruled out. Looking what type of PR campaign.

I'm willing to take more suggestion.
BusinessRe: I Think I Need Some Business Partners! by tEsLim(m): 10:52am On Apr 18, 2007
I cant work in an environment where idea comes from only one person. Share strategies. The new age is about synergy. Working together and sharing together.
BusinessRe: What Is The Salary For Sales Person In High End Boutique In Lagos by tEsLim(m): 7:17pm On Apr 17, 2007
See I think Wranglers pays them a token for salary and commission on sales. I can remember how I had to reluctantly buy a poor quality jeans for about 6k some years back due to the pressure from the sales girl.

At the end of the day a receipt is issued with the girls name written on it. So they account for her commission.
