Morale: stay humble, there's nothing to life worth dying for, cos no matter how it goes, you'll never make it outta here alive Tech stocks are subject to lots of high volatility, dangote is a traditional investor. Dangote can not experience such volatility in his investment |
Politics › Re: Opec Releases Annual Report Of Nigeria's Oil (picture Fact) by TheAlchemist: 1:47pm On Jul 30, 2018 |
fallout87: Nigeria's biggest issue is population.
It has 100 million more people than Iran! People asking Nigeria to be Dubai or Saudi Arabia aren't realistic.
It is far easier to spread wealth when your country only has 30 million people. Nigeria has 140 million more.
Now compare much revenue these countries generate from oil compared to Nigeria and we will all see the issue with the country is the overdependece on oil! Nigeria is producing anything else and a world leading standard. Then they are using this oil money to subsidize northern poverty stricken countries with uncontrolled populations where they are just producing children for the sake of it.
Nigeria's biggest issue isn't thieves... it's population and lack of true federalism to stop dependence of oil. Our population is a great asset... what we need is an efficient wealth distribution system. |

Neoteny: The sad truth has little to do with the competence, or lack thereof, of the service chiefs
It has to do with a universal truth no president so far has been honest enough to admit:
There just aren’t enough security forces to go round and cover everyone
The per capita is like one cop for every 10,000 nigerians
That’s why when there’s crises they have to borrow personnel from other deployments
Also, the very few are bedeviled with lack of logistics, morale, and quality leadership
That’s the greatest danger facing Nigeria. And the crooks know this
What else do you think accounts for the brazen daylight plunder and pillage? It is obvious that we must just find away to make state and community policing to work. The centralization of security structure is not helping matter. |

tiwiex: I love progress. As much as this sounds like progress, don't complain if unemployment rises. Google gave free Internet at the expense of many companies who are heavily invested in the sector. Can you guys take a moment to find out how many African countries have bought into this Greek gift. I don't think our government think deeply through their actions. I can assure YOU Ethiopia will NEVER allow this happen in their country. Same with Rwanda. I hope you know there are no Uber in those countries I mentioned.
Google just introduced a substitute to a business product for free. If someone here can share with me how it creates jobs and doesn't put more people on the street. I will be happy to hear. Advertising company should benefit a lot from this and thus see increase in budget and staff strength Courier companies should benefit and thus increase staff strength Online companies such as jumia and konga should also see increase in online orders Music industry should benefit from this and see more downloads Bookstore should see an increase in online sales of books Companies should start experiencing quick turnover of their stocks, cost of inventory should go down, expect more physical orders of raw materials to produce finished goods.. Infact some manufacturing firm would need to employ more staff. Once you have the tool that can identify your customer base with laser like precision, i think closing out all deals or sales is more than 90% guaranteed. my own understanding! |

phase1: It's too late for state and regional autonomy which can still be even reversed by a coup and a decree catapulting us back to ground 1. Outright seperation is the best. A country where development for a certain people is not interpreted with jealousy by another group of people is ideal.
Nigeria is an unworkable entity full of divergent and most times opposing interests. Why should I an Easterner have to wait for the opinion of a non-easterner or even sometime an anti-easterner before a federal scale project can be executed in the East?
Why should a Lagosian have to wait for the opinion of one unprogressive man in Sokoto or Katsina before enjoying constant power in lagos?
Why must one region have to wait for another region before development can happen. Ahmadu bello asked Awolowo to 'slow down' rate of development in the south so the north can 'catch up'. It's still the same case today, will the Arewans ever catch up? How can they can catch up when their leaders up north depend massively on poverty and illiteracy in the north to maintain power? nothing to add!! |

I believe because we have failed to practice true federalism, this is why the chant for disintegration is on the increase. We need to ensure less concentration of power at the center and allow all federating unit to develop at their own pace, without interference from Abuja. |

flyca: How I wish that Nigerians and Africans understand that these freebies are not development.
Only Africans can develop Africa through handwork and dedication. Development can mean so many thing... but this is still a good initiative from google. For instance Whatsapp is a freebie but i assure you many Nigerians are conducting transactions running into millions on a daily basis via the platform of Whatsapps. Africa can only develop through massive embrace of technology, the problem of Africa right now is we want to keep reinventing the wheel. |

I am sure the VP is ready and will always be ready to ensure that the lives and propertities of every citizen of the country is protected and guided. Hope u are not trying to patronize our VP. There is nothing very brilliant about having state police. It is expected... the VP should have canvassed for this from the very 1st month of this administration. I believe the VP must have been aware of all the challenges bedevilling the nation why wait towards the twilight of the administration to start advocating for state police. |

How did we even become a country? There is nothing to actually show that we are a COUNTRY just bunch of black people being wicked to themeselves and for forming giants of Africa. The whole Africa na shit sef... Truth be told the foundation of Nigeria is faulty, until we all come together to ask ourselves the question what does being a Nigerian mean, we shall be going through the circle of motion without movement. The only thing that binds the Nation is nothing but crude oil... The day the value of crude oil drops to $1 per barrel, i believe we shall then know the truth, and the truth shall set us free. This is Nigeria |
