PoliticsRe: #Onnoghen: Lawyers Ignore NBA Boycott Order by theoldpretender(m): 11:41am On Jan 29, 2019
It would have been good if the lawyers boycotted the courts...allover the country....not because it is right to defend corruption, but because it is right to stand up for due process, even if it means corrupt and bad officials hide from prosecution via legalese.

And I say this as someone who thinks the ex CJN has a case to answer.

Its very funny that people are lashing out on only Buhari (he also acted stupidly) with so much vitriol when the real culprit is the CJN. A whole head of.the Judiciary. First of all, he didn't declare his assets beacuse obviously he can't describe this sources of wealth. No one screamed Blue murder on something that obvious. Secondly with an authoritarian move, he suspended a meeting that was meant to.act on the CCT's order to suspend him. That move alone is undemocratic, corrupt, selfish and an abuse of power from.a whole CJN because he was trying to delay Justice. No one lost their brains over that. The NBA who should have called him.out on this but they kept mute all because of Partisan politics.

No one brought the internet down. If he had done the right thing, will the Executive have to.step in? This is just Hypocrisy on Steriods!!

Let me tell you the rape of Democracy here, A CJN who has kept a whole body like the NJC hostage, A senate who should.be sitting to.delibrate on national, legislative and budget issues but left their jobs to campaign and also the President for foolishly unsurping the power of an independent body. The anger should be directed at all of them. We should learn to.stop making the same mistakes when we cherry pick with bias on who to call out cus of sentiments that will favour no one. Call all.of them the f*ck out!! Perioood!
This is the most sensible comment on the whole crisis I have seen in over a week...and I've seen many comments.

But you should know that the problem with Nigerians is that fighting corruption is only good when it can be used to bring down one's enemies,or when it favours your political party. The problem is most Nigerians don't see corruption as a threat...they see it as a friend indeed...fighting it only when it favours them to do so.

It is not that SON is banning the wine because of tribe or race...the wine is not being made in standard condtions, and could cause serious health complications if consumed.

In one other African country, several people consumed illicit booze. Several of them died, and some went blind.

If the guy wants to make wine...let him register a company, make it according to standard...and people willcome, even from abroad to buy his wine. Let him not do wuru wuru stuff.

Please do not judge for I am in need of a direction. I would like to seek your counsel for I do not what to do..
I got married 3 years ago and have a beautiful daughter but I married for the wrong reasons. I didn't marry for love. I married my husband because he is a good man with a good heart and I knew that he loved and still loves me. After I gave birth to my daughter, I went off sex. I didn't want to be touched and kissed by him.. I felt dead towards intimacy and the feelings I had towards my husband disappeared. I felt like a zombie. I was numb to everything around me and this started having a terrible effect on my marriage... Down the line, I met another man and started developing feelings that I didn't think were possible anymore. I feel deep in love with him and so did he with me. We always want to be with each other but sadly, he is married as well with a kid. He is also having problems in his marriage. We both got married to our spouses the same year and feel that we made a mistake ...He is a Muslim and I a Christian which is not a problem for me. We both want the same things in life and I believe we would be good together.. I honestly don't know mind being wife number 2, which sounds really dumb, but that is how much I Love him.

The sad thing about this case is ...well...twofold.

1.It is sad that the CJN has clearly commited a crime, yet has to be forced out of office...so that the Supreme Court is not messed up.

2.Also sad and unseemly that the Government in essence broke the law to prosecute the CJN. We saw how EFCC under Ribadu broke the law in their efforts to prosecute some poltical officers...which in some way ended up backfiring on the EFCC big time. No way how there won't be a backlash. The CJN is corrupt...let's follow due process in prosecuting him...even if it means nothing gets done.

3.This whole case shows that APC and PDP have no business runing Nigeria. APC stalwarts are busy defending illegalities. PDP stalwarts are defening the right of a crook to hide from prosecution behind legalese. Both sides are using the saga as a political weapon. And Nigerians are joining in the fight.

It's like I said....Nigerians are not really interested in fighting corruption. And sorry...but if we break up this country...all the new countries are going to be messed up places...yes, that includes Biafra, Oodua, Sharialand, etc....because Nigerians love corruption...and don't want to fight it.

Anyway, I keep on keeping on.

You don't "force" Nigerian women into prostitution. They do it willingly. Its in their blood.

From sleeping with their coursemates to teachers to bus conductors to lecturers to bosses to landlords then pastors, prostitution is an inherent trait in every Nigerian woman
.

The Police should release those pimps & jaill those dirty oloshos for life.

1.Do the Nigerian women you call oloshos include people like your mother, sisters, cousins, aunts?

2. Not all Nigerian women are oloshos. There are many who do the right thing. Just as not all Nigerian men are not evil

3.If you want a better society, you work for it.

4.If you are calling all Nigerian women olosho because one of them refused to date you because you were not her type...get over it, and move on. She wasn't worth your time. No time for bitterness.

Nigeria is a lot better than Venezuela...

2. When was the last time you visited a supermarket and saw empty shelves.

3.We have $40bn in our reserves,up from $28bn 3 years ago. Venezuela is down to their last $10bn.

4.Bubu has removed one judge...albeit the CJN...because the CJN played into the hands of his enemies by failing to declare his assets....In Venezuela, known supporters of the ruling party have been appointed to the supreme court...including its head.In Nigeria...even the suspended CJN and his successor are apolitical.

5.In Venezuela...all their factories have been taken over by government. All the companies. In Nigeria...not only has Bubu not taken over any company...CBN is giving cash to companies like Dangote to invest in refineries.

Bubu is not my choice by the way. But Nigeria, for all its faults...is better than Venezuela.

I'm confused here huh

Japan and Qatar?

Someone explain to me please
huh
According to some other outlets...they were invited to round out the numbers up to 12 nations.

As the South American football association (Conmebol) only has ten members, additional invitees are required to create a workable tournament structure.

Initially, six extra teams - three from North America and three from Asia - were set to be invited in order to create a 16-team tournament, as was the case for the 2016 competition in the United States.

But instead, in May 2018, Conmebol decided the tournament should follow the structure of all other competitions since 1993 and have 12 teams, with Qatar and Japan those invited.
So,not unusual

I don't blame them, but they should realize that ASUU is fighting for them, so that they don't have to pay higher school fees.

But with the way the original 3trillion agreed upon in 2009 has been beaten down to 1.5 trillion over 5 years, and now 50 bn, fee increase is a matter of when.

I doubt Government has the money again to keep universities fees low. Not when oil is low.

Erm...if you ACTUALLY read the article....

However, several members of the Green Chamber criticised the Council of State for its alleged unconstitutional approval of a wage for Nigerian workers.

The Deputy Chief Whip, Mr. Pally Iriase, called for the approval of N30,000 wage for workers.

He said in part, “The Nigerian worker earns too much less. Go to the market, because of the noise of N30,000, go and price the items today. But now, it is N27,000.

“This bill must be dealt with in accordance with what the tripartite committee came up with. Not even Mr. President himself could deny what the tripartite committee presented.”

While saying that “the revenue allocation formula is overdue for a review, the lawmaker charged his colleagues to “stand up for once” in defence of workers.

“Mr. Speaker, N30,000 will be what this House will pass. This House should pass N30,000 instead of this rigmarole,” Iriase stated.
I know those lawmakers are greedy people....but this time, they did stand up for the worker.
