Women have feeble minds and often lose control of what they say, men are regarded as classical and know how to maturely control a situation so it doesn't result into a moral mess. I get your point though, sorry for what she may have called you, I believe she was just upset and expected a better advice from you. No offense intended.

@TheSeeker: 90001 is LA, CA. So if you are correct, you must at least be aware of the the minority stats of the muslim, in tis land, the United States.
But there is no "Good Samaritan" syndrome or mindset, in Islam. Samaritan, good or otherwise is strange to the muslim. You may call him that, but he will not call himself that. The label he gives himself will be the correct one, since he and not you knew why he came to the defense of the Jewish man.

Remember that the Jewish mand and his women said thatthere were Jews and others who didn;t get involved. Those Jews and others knew the term good Samaritan from the Bible, they didn't take up the label for themselves and defend a victim from the hands of the Christian Mob. I am sure that you remembered the annual easter Judas Iscariot that the youth used to drag about shouting after murderer at it? That could be called a typical Christian behavior towards the Jews, if you think the Muslims are typically violent. But I wonder why the Muslim guy on the Q Train line in NYC got involved, especially that he is obvious that he can't take the Mob? You know he is a little and not heavily build man.

And if you live long in America yo will know that it is a beautiful country, that protects its interests. So she makes and keeps friends alliances that serves this purpose. America only have temporary friendship. Nothing permanent, I tell you. There was a time that Noriega was a friend. There will be a time israel will not be a friend!

Your conclusion about practising moderately, is the best and the injuctions of the Quran is an adverse outcome, meaning worse, bringing chaos, does kind of throw me! I theefore ask; those who are not folowing the Quranic commandments, will you then consider them as "good muslims?" Will the moderate muslims, by your definition be good muslims and will they agree with your either saying that they are good muslims, because they are moderate and it is because they do not obey what is in the Quran, or that anyone who obeys Quran is bad muslims, while they the good muslims are good because they do not obey what is in the Quran?

Your friends need to know how you feel about them, not follwoing Quran makes them moderate and good muslims!

Were you in America when Granada was invade in 1984 and deposed or killed Maurice Bishop? What defense was in play there?
I do believe both religion has to be practised moderately because if you delve so much into the etiquette you're bound to make nothing, but enemies out of other religions. If Christians are to follow the Holy Bible there won't be rapport between a Christian and a Muslim. The Bible said "Do not be unequally yoked with the unbelievers" who are the unbelievers? Everyone else outside the Christian fold. I wouldn't want to ascertain that the two Holy Books were written such that they wreck chaos in the society but it looks so in retrospect.
I have some Christians who publicly castigated me for having Muslims as friends, to answer your question, they are nice because they aren't in depth into the Quranic teachings --- that may not make them a good Muslim in the Quranic context and way out of touch with the reality of the religion but it makes them acceptable in the society whereas a good Muslim, climatically based on the Quranic doctrines, is considered a threat and an unfriendly wicked soul save his cohorts.  If you ask me, I'd prefer a moderate Muslim who keeps the vital and humanitarian teachings of the Quran. Part of these teachings, including helping the needy, love their neighbors etc, rather than an extremist who keeps all the doctrines and hate the environment he finds himself -- which is what I don't like about them. They always have something negative to say about progressive clans.

About America not having permanent friends, that's as a result of change of leadership who have different goals and different approach to diplomatic policies. Like you said about Israel, I think Obama is bring them to a state where US will have less interference with Israel -- which the Republicans warned against against, some Republicans still see him as supporting the Muslim world, hence, making Israel vulnerable from possible attacks from Lebanon and maybe Syria, had Hezbollah won that election.  Overall, I think the first thing we should be concerned about is the environment we are in, I am less concerned about the doctrines of a sect of religion. As disintegration exists in terms of doctrines in Christianity, so does it exist in Islam. Some Christians will particularly tell you they don't like Deeper Life Bible Church but they love Winners' Chapel, that's a sharp contrast. NASFAT will tell you they don't fancy AHMADIYYAH --- that's just how bad it gets with these doctrines, you can't practise all.

In the Book of Zechariah in the Bible, it was stated somewhere there that people bowed down and prayed to God in the Islamic way, which God supported and that gave a boost to Celestial Church's monthly "bowing down" activities(if I'm right). In the Book of Ezekiel, clapping, drumming and dancing was prohibited in the congregation, in fact, God put a curse on people who did it then, is any Church following that anymore? No! No one will go to a Church where there's no drum sets and intriguing musical instruments. Doctrines in the Holy Books are not followed absolutely anymore, so we should choose the ones that makes us acceptable to our society not the kind that will spite hate and unethical war.

You're known for barbaric comments. You can't possibly diagnose The Holy Bible or the Hole Quran as if you're putting your whole life history in pen and paper. Maybe if you tell us, how God created Adam and Eve, how he spoke to Noah, how he spoke to Moses and how he loved David, then we can begin to consider your question to be coming from a sane mind. If you can't answer any of these, shove your question up your empty skull and stop insulting people on every thread you set your browser and cursor on.
Christianity Etc › Re: Hero Muslim Saves Jew From Christian Thugs by TheSeeker(m): 12:23pm On Jul 02, 2009
I'm a Christian but I have to say the Muslims I have been opportune to be with are very very nice. 90% of my friends are Muslims. Some of them did try to convert me but I didn't bulge, I felt what they were trying to do but they understood my refusal. I disagree with some, I agree with some but overall, we're great friends and hardly would anyone believe I'm not a Muslim.

I do have to say, assuredly, that some Muslims can be extremists as well as some Christians. It's rampant in the Muslim world because lately and for some time now, they have been rocking everywhere with violence. They have been associated with chaos and violence and they have been under intense light such that whenever a Muslim is met, absurd teachings come to play in your mind, Arab man is accosted, the first thought is always a STRAPPED BOMB or a SUICIDE BOMBER --- all borders on the violent landmark

The extremist Muslim is the one that sees a non-Muslim as an infidel, he sees him as a candidate bound for destruction. These are traits I do not appreciate about an EXTREMIST. On the other hand, with Christians, they do not see Muslims as a candidate for destruction, rather, they always pray God changes their heart and some minor quota see them as threat. It is generally believed in the western world that they are threat to international peace --- honestly, have they proved otherwise? No! Let's not bring America into this for now!

Let's keep it solely at what happened back in Nigeria --- what was all the killing about in Jos and other parts of northern Nigeria? What could have morally justified those killings? None! But somehow, the Muslims(their Imams and higher clerics) have managed to predicate it on teachings from the Holy Quran, I have heard it from many people that this is correct, if that is so, why is Islam called the religion of peace? I personally don't like to argue about religion but when some other people's religion is a threat to the society, then we have to put it in check and that brings me to America's involvement.

America, unlike governments of some third world countries, solely defend and protect their citizens in every way they can. I don't want to get into depth of what transpired between the Bush clan and the Al-Qaeda's but some senses are made America's stance on terrorism which is widely associated to the Muslim world.  I don't want to delve into that as it'll be off topic.

Conclusively, that man was just being a good Samaritan, a humanitarian, who, yes, has the fear of Allah but didn't follow the in depth of the supposed teaching of the Quran! Islam is a religion of peace if practised moderately, otherwise practised, it's a chaotic assemblage of destructive demons!!

You could have been better off reading this thread and act like you didn't see nothing instead of bringing down yourself and demeaning your egotistical stakes.

You started off with her personal problems, hit on her thread and all of a sudden you're talking about her sister!!!! You have really been a huge disappointment so far on this thread. Women are considered to act bitchy but what are you trying to do? Gain some proud moments against a heartbroken girl? All those unnecessary whining and ranting makes you a lot less a man with a proper reasoning brain. She hasn't insulted you but looks to me like you're out to attack her-- you don't even know her. To quote the words of Ibime earlier in this thread, a modest but timely donation to the Nigerian Police Endowment Fund would have saved you nine days in jail, and reduced your risk of being used for target practice as you triumphantly drive away from a police roadblock some day, but hey, don't let that discourage you from enjoying your pastime of engaging in man-pass-man  testosterone-fueled pissing contests with drunken, trigger-happy Nigerian policemen.

I consider you to be one of the last true old-school action heroes of the Wild West, as you gallop your trusty iron steed down Nigeria's badland highways, impassively scanning the horizon for more police roadblocks to conquer in your trademark way.
Yes you might be right I should have offered the unappreciated "sacrifice" and a "patriotic donation" to the Nigeria Police Force Trust Fund but I'm not a big fan of that no more. When you engage policemen in a duel, ensure you're on some game yourself or death is looming.

Also, to satisfy your cat-curious mind, I am not the last of the dying old school breed, I'm a young blood, 24 to be precise but I had hatred for policemen since the day they shot my most favorite cousin and said it was an "accidental discharge".

Politics › Re: Describe Your First Ever Encounter With The Nigerian Police Force! by TheSeeker(m): 7:47am On Jul 02, 2009
My first encounter with the police was quite chaotic. It was war. One evening, I was cruising to my girlfriend's place in a new Peugeot 406(privately owned), I was blasting a little not loud because my windows were locked when these policemen stopped me. They asked for my papers which I provided without questioning. One of them ordered me to stop my car CD and I questioned him why I should and that was where it started. He said I'm refusing orders from a policeman therefore they are taking me to the station. Well, it was a street and I knew there were witnesses plus I was determined not to be taken on inch out of line from where I was going.

They were 3 policemen. They asked for my keys and I bluntly refused, but that was after the guy had checked my papers and ensured it was "over" complete. I made my way back into the car and they stood in my way. I came out and told them to get off the way or I will be forced to have it rough with them. They tempted me and I just rammed the car and splashed some nice dust at the officer on my back. He hit my brand new car with his baton, I was furious and I came out --- I didn't say a word, just went right into my trunk when they came and held my jeans. I opened the trunk and brought out my "jack". I was very determined to hit them with it, I knew they wouldn't shoot because we were in the street and not a major highway. It was an ugly row and I hit one of them with it and they knew I was furious. I scared them out of my way and just hurriedly drove off the scene before they called for back-up.

My car was spotted weeks later and I was taken to the station for attacking and assaulting a policeman. I asked to see the DPO whom they declined me not to see and then I called my family lawyer who came there and worked out logistics with the DPO. They just asked me to tender an apology to the policemen, I shrugged and made the unrepentant apology and that was it.

I have had different showdowns with policemen including one where I was locked up for 9days and tell you why? I don't just don't like to give them money unless you approach me in a very very friendly manner but I make sure I'm on the right legal path before I start making a fuss

If you are not being ignorant, than why are u accusing Ibkaye and of this and that? Its kinda rude when you do that do you know?

Im not trying to say Im a good girl. . . I have my bad sides as well but Im just trying to say that it is possible for a middle age lady to be a virgin. Ibkaye is not as old as I am but she has her own principles. I know her well well.

For my case, its a longggg story. I hate talking in here cause than people will bash me up. If you are interested to know, maybe we can chat else where.

Thanks
I'm not accusing her. If you checked my previous posts, I had an agreement with some things she said but there's a realistic fact and that is what you've just confirmed. That was the fact where I noted that she's sound 30ish or just 20ish who's got the brains of a 30ish --- and you just confirmed she's younger than you are. In other words, as much as you have been a "virgin", she definitely "might" be one. You can chat with me on Yahoo if you have one. Click on the Y'ELLO SMILEY FACE under my screen name

No I wouldn't. Because the kinds of problems from the original post always arise down the line and it always causes friction especially when there are children involved and the children always end up confused and one person always loses and has to give up their faith in the end. Too complex!
If the man is imposing his religion on the wife, refusal of which is leading to chaotic existence in the home then the relationship/marriage isn't worth it after all. If he loves her, working on the relationship is important than bitching on religion. What has religion got to do with marriage anyway? If your religion clearly states that you should not get married to a woman unless she converts why don't you easily get married to someone already in your religion instead of fomenting cold and unmannerly domestic war? Leaving behind your religion on the basis of marriage isn't love, it's simply loss of self esteem. If I was smoking from when I was born, I dare not not leave it because of any woman no matter how much I love her, if she can't deal with that she'd hit the cave!
Romance › Re: Would You Marry Someone Not The Same Religion As Yourself? by TheSeeker(m): 6:55am On Jul 02, 2009
Romeo4real:
Well, that really depends on how "religious" u are. If u are quite religious, you would want ur whole household to follow ur religion. Remember, this is ur family we are talking about, not friends or strangers.
Also, how can a "partnership" work effectively when both parties subscribe to different rules, regarding an issue that permeates their daily lives and affects all decision making?
Sure it depends on how religious and I choose to differ from being an extremist. I know a Muslim man(Nigerian) who got as religious to a point where he doesn't buy any fabrics that has AMERICAN flag or symbol on them. If he likes such couture that much, he extricates the AMERICAN sign and replaces it with another design,  Now what do you call that? Being religious? I think that's being extremely extremist in my humble opinion.

Business partnership is very much opposed to marital partnership. In a relationship, what are the most important things you tell a woman or a woman tells you? We both tell each other that "you can't change who I am, I will always be me". You can't possibly ask her to leave her religion because that was how she was raised, that's an integral part of her. Asking her to leave her religion is tantamount to selfishness on the man's part.

Possession of the family doesn't solely lie with the man because he's the head of the family, they both share the responsibilities no matter how meager the woman's are. She has almost, if not the same, amount of rights on the kids as much as the man does. The man can dictate which religion he wants the kids to be raised in, but it is up to the kids to decide when they become adults -- as I am 90% sure that 80 of 100 kids will get along with their mom's religion, that's the influential power moms have on their kids that a father will NEVER have unless in some very sad conditions where the mom had died.

If the man is sooooo religious, why didn't he just get married to a woman from his religion? Aren't they good enough? I see it needlessly insulting to impose one's religion on one's wife. She has certain rights and freedom and one of them is freedom of religion, as it holds for her in the society, so does it rightly extend into her home -- which should never be checked.

Practising different religions doesn't connote dishing out conflictingly different rules.  Or maybe you could give me an example of what you're driving at, eh?

See what I mean by you guys are being ignorant. U think all the females today have to have sex abi? For some people, they are not that kind and will wait till they get married to have sex. Alot of female nairalanders here are like that but they no fit tell its because of selfish ignorant people such as yourselves whom like to bash people up for good. Dont blame us when we are more stabilized than your gf's ok?

Yes, I have a Nigerian bf and yeah, he is my first and present bf but so what? We have been best friends for 2 years and we dated for 4 years. It has been 4 years last May 2009 but what does that have to do with anything? I dont think both of us should get married when both are still in school dont you think so?Infact, we are still in school right now and working at the same time just to make ends meet. not everything is about marriage jor. Priorities, responsibilities and stability should come first befoe marriage (E.G: How you fit marry if you no get enough mnoney  huh)

Please stop generalizing. Everyone is made different thats why they say different strokes for different folks and also it takes alot of different people to make up th world.
I will run a little bit of relativity with you. So I'll start with a few questions.

Focus 1 -  Trying to find out if your guy is either slow and just plain decent --- the celibate type  grin

Focus 2 - To prove that which of us is ignorant of the current trend of sexual preferences and differences going on out here.

Q 1. That you're still virgin @ 26 might not be questionable but that doesn't automatically guarantee anyone you're a good girl--trust me on that one, based on your status, was it an agreement between your former best friend, now boyfriend, that you both won't have sex?

Q 2. Is he having sex elsewhere? If no, is he a Celibate?

PS == I'm not contesting the fact that you're a good girl and all of that! Just trying to slap the ignorant rant back in your sweet jelly face!

I agree with you 100%. You just represented my exact opinions and doubts about the girl. I often ask why girls are like this anyway.

@Poster
It might not be what you want to hear but I sense your girlfriend is on to some games right there. How could she have been comfortable enough to go into a legal binding with you but not down with telling you her ordeal at 17 until now? Why did she wait so long?

Why the sudden urge for sex? Where is that coming from? I think she's trying to plant something on you. I do understand you love her but she's either lying to you or trying to test your faith in her --- more so to find out if you are into her because of her virginity status but I highly doubt that because she's trying to have sex with you. It's true that some girls don't know what it is like when they are virgin or not, but come on, what's with the hidden secret? In my opinion, it's one of the fundamental things she should have told you as long as she was able to tell you she's a virgin-- that was the next thing she should have said(Just as a woman would tell a man she has a kid)

You should be able to apply some intelligence in this regards and work your way through this mess or if you can't handle the pressure have her see a gynecologist and the rest is easy but in what light will she see you if actually the doctor certifies her a virgin? What do you intend to do if she isn't certified a virgin? Let me add that "fingering" can't and will never break a virginity. My point is you'd find out why she's lying and not dwell on the sanctimonious wish that she's a virgin

This issue has been hashed out well on this forum many times. From a Christian perspective, she cant. The Bible is very clear on that.
From a carnal human perspective, Yes, she can, if she wants to, but she should be aware of the potential issues. As long as she can deal with them, then there really is no problem - Apart from the rift it may cause in the family.

The kids will also grow up to be Muslims, but will have the knowledge of the Christian faith, through their mother - Nothing wrong with that, as they can make up their own mind when they become adults.
He may have have certain views and principles which are consistent with the Muslim faith - she must be willing to accommodate those. On the issue of "not practising", that can change at any time.
If she is willing to comply with any request pertaining to his faith in the future, then she'll be fine, otherwise, the scene may be set for endless conflict and issues.
You're right! But then let me hastily add that they are going into a marriage which is supposed to be a sort of partnership but not slave trade! If I'm married to a Muslim woman, I wouldn't impose any of my religious etiquette on her as long as her religious belief doesn't bother the home front

Go and date of her most beautiful friends, if she has none, shift base to her class, there's got to be one classy and beautiful girl there. If you're not in school, go to her street and date someone close to their house. Ensure that the house is located just so she can see you anytime you pull over at the property. She will hate you more when she discovers this, then take advantage of that emotional anger and gain confidence over here, laugh it off, look deep into her eyes when you talk to her, she'll be the one to put her face away in shyness and let her know you were just frolicking and that you never meant to hurt her (if she looks hurt) and tell her you'd like for you to have a date if she doesn't mind so you can explain a few things to her that you need her advice on. She should make it known to the guy that as much as he wants to cling to his religion that he wants their kids to practice it, so does she have the right to practice her religion without being troubled or hassled about it in the future. If the guy doesn't agree with that arrangement, then he's not worth the 1+ years she spent with him. If he, on the better note, permits her to practice her religion, she shouldn't worry about the kids, when they grow they will know what religion to go through. Why is she worried anyway? Didn't they say mothers are closest to their children? Has that fact changed? I believe as long as she's the closer to their kids, they will practice her religion. Because there will be cases where she has to go to Church programmes with the kids and when she has to, will he stop her? Of course not! The guy is just ignorant and doesn't know the kind of bond between a mother and a child, Hell! He's not even a practical Muslim.

Oh, she might say they have been together a long time like 6 years, but she's 26, why isn't she married yet? Girls pretend in reality and even on forums!!! God help us!!! Girls are so pretentiously coded that if you meet a d*ck in their p**ssy, they'd deny and tell you it's an "sausage roll"
