SportsRe: AFCON: Nigerians React After Algeria Defeated Super Eagles by thinkmoney(m): 11:44pm On Jul 14, 2019
Arsenalholic:
I am surprised at many Nigerians sha... They seem to watch back of TV like we used to say as kids.

Compare our team to that of Algeria and you'd see a massive gap. The Algerians were more tactically astute and surprisingly fitter. The Cameroonian team and South African team were a lot poorer and that was why we had any chance against them.

I have been saying this:

Genot Rorh plays an obsolete brand of football.

In this modern age hardly do you see teams withdrawing into their own half of the pitch when the opposition defenders are bringing it forward. You have to PRESS the defenders and block every expected passing option. Pep Guardiola made this "modern tactics" popular. And many teams use it now.

Madagascar used it against us and we saw the result.

Today, the Algerians did the same thing.

Since the first day of the tournament I watched out football and was immediately unimpressed. Even against Burundi we were playing this kind of obsolete football.

They play like this waiting to counter without any meaningful passing triangles. Once the opposition score, they get out of their shell and start to press. Then once they get a goal, they sit back and start to invite pressure again.

We need a coach that is up to date with modern football... And more importantly can blend our team together as a unit.

I hope Senegal now go ahead and do West Africa proud come Friday
see, u understand modern football. that coach is obsolete. you press opposition defence so they can make errors and also so it will be hard for them to achieve any fluency. individually, they aren't better than us. if we continue with this kind of coach, we will just waste the potentials of those boys.
one point again, is how mist time the keeper just shoot the ball out. in the modern era, you try to build ur attack from the back. the philosophy is, the less ur opponent see the ball the less their threat is.

Correctgist:
11 people have been arrested and detained in connection with the murder of Nigerian student, Obasanjo Adeola Owoyale, in Cyprus

The suspects appeared in court yesterday in Lefkosa. Turkish Cypriot police had raided an apartment building in Lefkosa, early Thursday morning, to make arrests.

It was learned that the house was the last place Obasanjo, a student of the Cyprus International University, had gone before he was killed.

According to preliminary findings by the police, Obasanjo was thrown down the third floor after he was killed. Black plastic gloves with stains resembling blood were found on the floor.

It was gathered that the deceased was allegedly killed in a fight due to the issue of debt.
Havadia reports that he was severely beaten and wounded with a cutting tool and then thrown from the window of the apartment on the third floor. .

He was then put in the trunk of his own car and parked in a dirt field, one street away, where he was later found on Monday, July, 8, 2019, eight days after he was declared missing.

A video showing a Shiite member hanging on a speeding car and smashing the windscreen, has surfaced on the internet.

The video captured by TV Continental, showed members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria going violent during their protest yesterday at the National Assembly, Abuja.

In the video, a driver was trying to escape the violent scene when a member of the sect jumped on the car and began smashing the windscreen.

He was almost killed as the driver stepped on the car brake, which saw him being flung off the speeding vehicle

the federal government is not managing their case well. Even though, they like some Muslim of other sect see violence as a means to an end, they still had over the years kept to themselves until this Government unjustly retain there leader in detention. Kaduna government too is doing everything to frustrate them. Buhari and Sanni, see this religious group as an easier target than Christians to carry out their supposedly obligatory Islamic crusade, justifying and soothing their religious conscience in the process.
HealthRe: Lagos Government Confiscates “Ebola Ponmo” by thinkmoney(m): 1:18pm On Jul 09, 2019
Ify05:
The Lagos State Government has confiscated a truckload of cowhide described as “Ebola Ponmo” at Ijegun, on the outskirts of Lagos.

In a statement on Monday, Ministry of Agriculture Permanent Secretary Dr Olayiwole Onasanya said the cowhide, was imported into the country by some unscrupulous individuals.

The police, Onasanya said arrested the vehicle at Ikotun before informing officials of the government.

The cowhide, he said, was preserved with chemicals to be used as leather material but they are being sold for human consumption by some criminals.

The “Ebola Ponmo”, Onasanya said, had since been transported to the ministry’s outstation at Johnson Agiri Office Complex, Agege for disposal at the medical waste dumpsite in Ewu Elepe, Ikorodu.
The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and Environmental Health Officers have been informed of the discovery and the disposal, he added.

He urged the public to report any suspected activities and sales of unwholesome foods to the nearest local government or the ministry.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/thenationonlineng.net/govt-confiscates-ebola-ponmo/amp/
its a popular ponmo in ikotun-ijegun axis. the dealers have made fortunes from it. they are multimillionaires . they have connections with police and people that matters.
the ponmo has nothing to do with Ebola, however locals nicknamed it Ebola ponmo because of the stomach churning way its smells. But many people still cook and eat it. they do this mostly because its cheap and how it swells and fills the pot. it can actually swell up 4x over its actual size when cooked.
one turnoff again is that by the next day, it turns pulpy, hence people often try to finish the ponmo the day its made.
its often sold in side bars in the area, garnished with pepper. it doesn't smell when cooked. u wouldn't normally suspect anything is amiss only you may wonder how much ponmo u get for the price u pay.
for the record; there hasn't been any record of victim directly linked with the ponmo. the ponmo has been around there for almost 20years. neighbours at areas where its being processed, always have to put up with the stench. rumour has it that it's being imported from neighboring west African countries like Togo. it comes in in caravan of truckloads. the smell oozes out of this trucks and people immediately recognise their contents from metres away.

Christianity EtcRe: Modele Fatoyinbo: I Am Not Your Friend If You Don’t Celebrate Biodun Fatoyinbo by thinkmoney(m): 10:31pm On Jul 07, 2019
silverbirdng:
Modele, the wife of the embattled founder of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Biodun Fatoyinbo, has said whoever does not celebrate her husband cannot be her friend.

“I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man,” Modele told worshipers at the service on Sunday in Abuja headquarters of the assembly.

She asserted that her husband remains the father of all branches of the church.

Fatoyinbo was accused of rape by Mrs. Busola Dakolo, wife of inspirational musician, Timi Dakolo; and another unidentified lady within the space of a week.

The COZA founder, however, has since denied the allegations and taken a leave of absence.

But Modele, during the church’s service on Sunday, affirmed her husband as the “father” of all COZA churches.

The church has branches in Lagos, Rivers, Kwara and Dubai, with the headquarters located in Abuja.

Modele, who was barely audible amid the loud cheers of worshipers, said, “One of the things that I say about my husband is that I would have never had the opportunity — I used to be so shy to talk to one person. I used to let him do all the talking because I was a very introverted person.

“But he was able to help me see, like he was able to help a lot of us see, that there was greatness in me.

“So, I don’t have a problem standing before you this morning. The Lagos church, the Ilorin church, the Port Harcourt church — anywhere he is, Pastor Biodun is the father of that church.

“I’m not your friend if you don’t celebrate this man.”

the mistake of Christianity today is how so many individuals think and claim they own a church. I suspect holding on to their suppose church, which is actually an investment to them is what matters to this couple now. I suspect some pastors under them have begin to show their disapproval about the whole drama.
If as a pastor u have misused the trust God gave to u, u should be ready to forfeit the attendant blessing and prestige. I would even suggest they don't allow the wife mount the podium for the time being, because its obvious she can't be unbiased about the whole thing. she may even try to interfere in the church investigation.

MY REPLY TO A FORMER COLLEAGUE AND GOOD FRIEND WHO OUT OF HIS SHEER LOVE FOR CHRIST THOUGHT BUSOLA SHOULDN'T HAVE COME OUT. HE THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T ROB OFF WELL ON CHRISTIANITY
We should be careful as its likely the case will be taken to court. But my brother, their are steps the bible pointed to in dealing with matters in 1cor. 5. A Christian should try to exhaust all these steps.
First, you should approach the offender one on one. If the person seems unwilling to adjust, you take along about two church elders. However, if the person still prove unrepentant you open the matter to the church. Thats the third step.
The final step in case the person persist in his wrong is for the whole church to stop associating with him.
In the case of this pastor, a handful of his former congregant especially choirs had raised accusations against him. Him or the church to their discredit hasn't reacted appropriately to it. Many of these suppose victims claim they have reported the matter to some authority in the church but that it appears those authority are more concern about sweeping the whole thing under the carpet.
From my study of the bible.( it will help if you read the whole of 1cor 5 and numbers 16:25,26). It won't be out of place to put the whole thing in public and denounce not only the pastor but the whole church given that the people in authority didn't deem it necessary and of utmost importance to sanctify Gods name. If one does this, one hasn't rubbished Gods name and Christianity, they-the pastor and elders are the one that have, one would have actually shown that they are counterfeit Christians. One might even by such action help others stay clear of their camp.

You remember the young lady, Lizzy? Her story touched the hearts of several Nigerians a few months back after it was reported that she was hooked to hard substances.
What interested most people in her matter is the fact that she seemed to be very educated and well-spoken despite living on the streets and begging to fend for herself.
However, it seems Lizzy is now way better off than she used to be. A popular Nigerian pastor, Tony Rapu, had rescued the 25-year-old lady from the streets and it was documented on social media.
In new photos shared by the pastor on his Instagram page, Lizzy now looks healthier and a far cry from how she was a few months back.

he regretted it just at the point of death. you can deduce this from the way he clenched on the rope.
the robe tightened his fingers to his throat. he must have struggled for a relatively long time before he died.
when you hang, it ain't easy freeing up ur self, because of the weight of the body and the way the rope tightens quickly and strongly to the neck. l know this because I have once accidentally hung. I am still alive because the rope broke.

I have a sister that's in a serious mess.
she got into a relationship a little more than a month ago. the relationship according to her has been unbelievably wonderful. the understanding she and her spouse shares makes it look like they have known each other for a long time.
she met the guy when the guy had just put in all he had into an investment. she as a result has been the one helping the guy.
She herself just left a relationship that ended very badly. the new guy she met told her about the time they started off that he is leaving a longtime relationship because his ex though nice had become abusive. The guy hadn't been in a active communication with his suppose ex for about 3months.
The ex only recently started calling him occasionally to tell him about the travails she is going through and seek help and guidance. out of respect for the time they had together and love of humanity, the guy sometimes attends to the call to encourage her.
Now back to the guy and my sister now. my sister is leaving with the guy now and the guy doesn't hide anything from her. she even knows his phone password and have access to almost everything. just out of the blue one evening, she messaged the ex (mind you the ex until then doesn't know anything about her) through the guys WhatsApp and went on telling her not to bother her 'fiance' again. the conversation went on for sometime and turned ugly. *my sister confessed to me that she actually dug into their past conversation and used them to insult the lady. she used the ex challenges to ridicule her. the ex retaliated and said nasty things too
all this happened without the guys knowledge. it was later my sister then confessed what she had done to the guy. the guy then got real mad at my sister and accused her of being presumptuous. he reminded her that he had been pointing out the fact that she isn't patient enough. the guy told her that their are implications to what she just did; 1. he will limit my sister's access to his phone 2. he will give the relationship a break 3. that she has just given the ex a reason to come and make trouble.
the guy ask my sister to leave and go to her place. true to his prognosis, the ex came around 12am in the night and attempted to cause a lot of trouble. the saving grace is that she didn't meet my sister at the guys place.
my sister said the guy then in a bid to manage the situation and to some extend out of his disappointment changed the romantic name he saved her contact with that very night. He also dismiss my sister to the ex as someone that just got pesky. my sister said he kept calling all through the night, without saying anything just so the guy and the ex wouldn't have peace( the ex actually fought the guy through the night). the guy ended up blocking her line.
she then said the guy chatted her that she is too much trouble that he wouldn't want to have anything to do with her again. he however text her that morning that she shouldn't come, call or send message. he also then saved the ex name with the romantic name he formerly do call her with. according to him,he did all these so the ex just can leave.

I told her I will seek advice. hence I will try to paint the picture close to how it really is. please drop ur opinions about the whole thing so as to help placate and proffer solution. my sister and the guy got back together that very day but the issue is hanging on their relationship.

Miracle121:
Who can tell what this picture is saying? Anybody?
well the picture isn't easy to comprehend.
first, let's start with what could have happened. There are two possible scenarios on my mind. one, its either she is a victim of a flood/ hurricane/ tonardo.
or second, she is in a ship that is taking in water. this second scenario is the most probable because of the following observation. i. the water looks clean. if it had been a flood or hurricane, a lot of dirt would have come with it. ii. the things in the room hasn't fallen over, because as I suspect, the water isnt rushing in.
this last point must explain why she seems not to be in a hurry.
all these put together, I suppose, she is just trying to salvage things she deemed valuable - books obviously.
my observation as led to this hypothesis. I wouldn't want to go further. (I am tempted to curse her for not finding a way to escape first, but like I pointed out, it appears the water had been trickling in and she doesn't appear to be particularly frightened. she is on top of the situation).
