@tocdee , so what are u insinuating? an Arsenal win OR a Liverpool draw?
grin grin grin Judging by those options, you really don't want Arsenal to lose. All I'm saying is that Liverpool is better placed to win especially if they succeed in stretching Arsenal by utilizing the flanks. We know Arsenal's wide men are out injured and Rafa's tactical mind would have noticed this. In Riera, Dossena/Aurelio, Arbeloa, the Reds have players who just love hugging the line. Denilson and Eboue will have lots of running to make in unnatural positions to them. Also when you look at both midfields, you'll have to admit that a central partnership between Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano can beat ANY other in the world.

However, with Torres injured, Babel on the bench and Keane not hitting top form, Arsenal shades Liverpool in the attacking department.

I think Liverpool will win.

@ Gabychuks, My friend, Liver'pool were way better than hull BUT they drew, ARS were far better than Hull and we lost, before the game against Manchester United and Chelsea, they far way better in form than we Gunner, but we DESTROYED them, so what makes you think we won't Panel beat the Anfield Giants? ehen?answer me!!!!
So you're basing this on luck/fortune/chance rather than the better team winning? Anyway, we live on hope but the odds are on a Liverpool win given the Reds away form.
And please Babel was CLEARLY dragged down by Toure who was lucky not to get sent off. In the last 5 meetings between the two clubs, Liverpool have won 2 and Drawn 3. See how Rafa has figured out Wenger's methods?

I'm worried about Liverpool. I don't think they can realise their dream of winning the premier league. I don't think they are going to make it. Although I'm a Man Utd fan, I think it's time for liverpool to win the trophy. I just think we should stepdown for this season only so that liverpool can get the trophy. Mo wii re abi nko wii re??
This is either a joke or the silliest post of the year. . Its going to be a tough Christmas period for everyone. No one's running away with it yet.

And please don't worry about liverpool (thanks though) but be bothered in the knowledge that Vidic is aiming to be your highest goal scorer this season. tongue

Just returned to breathing normally! What a game!!!!!! Liverpool's passing is as slick as you'll ever get! The long passes were also awesome! Arbeloa, Hyppia, Riera, GERRARD, Alonso where very good BUT Kuyt was Horrble today. Should have been deployed to the right immediately with Keane replacing Yossi. I'm gutted but hell, Arsenal and Manchester United dropped points too wink

Why do we concede when we play well but destroy teams when playing poorly ( eg Tottenham league).

@Bgees, jst believe. Its not the end of the world.

I am sure the survey was done in Liverpool. . . . .This is why u have cunts like Gerrard and Torres leading the pile.
Is Torres popular than Emmanuel Eboue in the UK?? I doubt that.

Torres beats RONALDO??
You're not very smart, are you? People that throw mud at others should at least have some sense to back up their ranting. Go look up the meaning of 'popular'. The poll was carried out by Barclays with 32,000 people from 185 countries . If that covers just Liverpool then you really should be tucked up in bed by now.

What's all the talk about. Its stats for crying out loud! Verified and culled from a very reliable source. And if you really think that Alonso isn't the best forward passer of the ball, then watch ANY of Liverpool's games with an eye on the guy. Its the strongest part of his game. He picks passes from 6-60 yards with ease. that's why he could score from the centre of the field (Luton, Newcastle). can't we just agree? huh
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Liverpool (2) Versus Hull City (2) Saturday 13th December by tocdee(m): 4:17pm On Dec 12, 2008
Before nko? We are the current league leaders wink . . . and when you compare Hull man-to-man with Liverpool, there's a great gulf in class. They are good attacking-wise but suspect in defence so they score lots and concede lots.

. Liverpool hasnt conceded a goal at home in the EPL for 4 Hrs 45 mins.
. have the current longest unbeaten home record
. currently the only team still unbeaten at home in England (possibly in Europe too) in 2008 calendar year (BBC).

As long as we can shackle Marlon King and Geovanni, I feel we'll have a lot of joy tomorrow. 6 goals in 2 matches for the Reds signals an end to our goal draught- - -I hope.

That said, it won't be a walk in the park!

so Denilson makes passes more than Carrick and Scholes?
where do u get these things from?
do they do drugs there?
If you read carefully (which you can't seem to ), you'll spot the phrase 'Opta Stats' (Official EPL Statistics body). How many matches have Carrick and Scholes played this season? How many,on the other hand, has Denilson played?
Don't dwell on stats like passing. . . . . . . . .Most of Mikel's passes are sideways passes and backwards passes.
How many of those passes have led to goal assist?
How many of those are KEY passes?? That is where Anderson, Scholes and Carrick are superior.
Then again you can't select the stats you want and disregard those that don't support your pre-concieved ideas. Such stats rated Makelele as the best defensive midfielder in his prime for example. And who says Scholes and Carrick have more assists than anyone else this season? ANDERSON?? SUPERIORhuh Don't make me laugh.

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N162481081211-1113.htm

Liverpool fans have known it for years but now it's official - Xabi Alonso is English football's pass master.
The midfielder became the first Premier League player to complete 1,000 successful passes during 2008-09 against Blackburn.

Opta stats show Alonso has hit 1,005 accurate passes this term, creating 26 goalscoring chances in the process.

Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel is second with 957 successful passes and 12 chances created.

Next comes Arsenal's Denilson (922 and 27), followed by Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard (901 and 48).

To think that the guy was almost forced out of Liverpool for Gareth Barry makes me cringe with disgust. Kudos to Mikel, now replicate it for your country and we'll probably win Fifa 2001! grin

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N162480081211-1035.htm

Fernando Torres is the Premier League's most popular player, according to a survey of fans carried out by Barclays. The league's main sponsor asked 32,000 fans from 185 countries who their favourite player was - and El Nino came out on top.

Torres polled 38 per cent of the votes to pip teammate Steven Gerrard and Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barcelona winger Lionel Messi won the overseas player fans would most like to see in the English top flight with 54 per cent of the votes.

I think he's popular because of his likeable character. The guy has got a humble air about him unlike a certain Cristiano cool Ronaldo.

Blackburn host Liverpool this Saturday at 15.00 GMT, that's 4pm Nigerian time.

Liverpool currently top the table with 34 points, closely followed by Chelsea. The Scousers blew the chance to go 3 points clear on Monday with a draw to West Ham. That was their second successive draw at Anfield, so I guess things don't look so shiny for them.Blackburn Rovers will be hosting them at Ewood park this time though,so perhaps their luck will change undecided But lets not forget that Blackburn is one of the teams that have a habit of nicking points off the so-called ''big four'' in the Premiership. So will this be another one of those point-nicking times?

What do you think people? Will Skipper Stevie find his mojo at Ewood Park? Torres?
But then again which team is finding it easy currently? Lets take a look at the form table for the last 4 games of the big four (Including UEFA CL and excluding Carling):

Liverpool-                      WDWD

Chelsea-                        WDDL

Manchester United-        WDDW

Arsenal-                         LLWW                                   Bold letters for UCL

Goes to show how tough its been for top teams

All in all, its d scouser's 2 win, lose or draw - i stick my neck out 4 a draw!
I love it when people show disrespect to Liverpool: the only team that has lost just once this season in the EPL (under bizarre circumstances). Liverpool have taken more points away from home thanat home. I always fancy them more playing away than at Anfield this season (eg A.Madrid and Marseille). That said, the boys will need to step up their game and take some of the numerous chances they'll create.

PS Why don't you fancy Alonsohuh U've obviously not been watching the Reds all season.

Its another 2 points dropped. Top of the table, yeah but we need a shake-up. As Bgees said, Ngog had no business coming in before Babel. Gerrard's shooting was terrible, Keane was like a girl, Kuyt was too slow and should play on the right, Riera seemed uninterested, Hyppia was solid, Dossena was brilliant with his wing-play and crosses and Yossi was lively (though light-weight)
