Benitez was lucky to have won that UCL, he has norin up his sleaves.
he has not been able to score a goal against United in the Prem.League
what kind of of footballing philosophy is that?
How stupid can you get, sir? Benitez is doing great considering the state of the club when he took over. And how can you say he was lucky in he CL? And about not scoring against ManU, do you want him to put on his boots and get into the pitch? There's only so much he can do during these building stages.

Ferguson built his team for years
Wenger built his young team for years
Benitez is building a Red Machine and signing the likes of Torres, Mascherano and Skrtel signifies purpose.

By the way, Skrtel was signed from Zenith St. Petersburgh and those guys play MEAN footie!

I honestly feel that the season's highest flops could be gathered from one team: Chelsea

Belletti- Goodness!
Ben Haim- MIA, regrets
Sidwell- MIA, regrets
Pizarro-Where is he?
Shevy- Same old Same old, regrets
Malouda- For his price tag!

Ivanovhuh? Where also is the expensive defender

Alex- Sees matches with the fans at a London pub.

Hello i do wish that liverpool and man utd be in the final.I missed out the barcelona clash last night with man utd becuase my strong reciever can show only only one channel and when you try to change it is says "please wait" and does not change so please i do really need help,
WHAT exactly do you need help for? A liverpool/man-U final or your decoder to stop 'waiting'. BUT I believe none of us can do squat about the 1st. For the second, my friend saw the match with the same decoder yesterday.

Here's hoping the Reds pull through. Chelsea has got no business with the CL finals!
Sports › Re: Liverpool Vs Chelsea: Who? by tocdee(m): 2:30pm On Apr 25, 2008
If I was a chelsea fan, I'd be worried that none of my strikers have scored in AGES. I mean if not for poor Essien, u realize u'd be behind Arsenal right now, don't y'all? U needed help frm riise to record a goal. On wednesday, Liverpool will attack with abandon. Chelsea wouldnt know whether to defend or to attack and it will end up being another Liverpool miracle. Trust me, The Reds have 'been there, done that'. I'm not saying it will be easy, but u guys talk like u beat us at Anfield (Pity how u've fallen).

Last season, the Reds beat barca at the Nou Camp, this seaon it was Inter at the San Siro and quite frankly, i'm quite optimistic the magnificent Reds will prevail. BUT even if they don't, at least unlike the blues and Grunt, The Reds and Rafa can Never Walk Alone. That's the beauty of Liverpool.
Sports › Re: Liverpool Fans; Should Rafa Go At Season's End? by tocdee(m): 2:05pm On Apr 25, 2008
The answer is NO! Liverpool is a team in progress but this question certainly isn't. Heres why;

Rafa Benitez will take charge of his 150th league game for Liverpool on Saturday looking to create the second best record of any manager in Anfield history.
A victory would mean the Spaniard has chalked up 82 wins in 150 games – more than any predecessor except Kenny Dalglish.

The King masterminded 87 victories in his first 150 games, with Gerard Houllier on 81, Bob Paisley 79, Bill Shankly 77, Roy Evans 72 and Tom Watson 66.

A clean sheet on Saturday would also give Benitez the joint best defensive record in any manager's first 150 league games.

His side has so far conceded 119 goals in the top flight – level with Bob Paisley.

Meanwhile, Benitez's record in his first 149 games compares favourably with that of Manchester United counterpart Alex Ferguson.

Benitez has won 81, lost 34, scored 228 and conceded 119. Ferguson won 63, lost 43, scored 205 and conceded 152.

While I'll admit I was thoroughly dissappointed by the result, I believe we still stand a good chance of beating chelsea at the SB. In Europe, our away form in recent times seems very good. Its time for the boys to show what they are worth + won't it make eliminating Chelsea more of a thrill?

I'm horribly happy for Torres. Gerrard was BOSS and his goal was sublime. As for Skrtel, the guy seems to be a threat to mighty AGGER!!! Great win!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Who Is The Best Finisher In The World? by tocdee(m): 3:11pm On Apr 14, 2008
Since we are talking about finishing, I think the prize should go to Torres. The kid has got millions of FINISHING MOVES!! Ronaldo is a good finisher but If you remove penalties and tap-ins from his game, you'll get a decent finisher, no more. On the other hand, Torres hasnt taken a penalty for pool (though he did for athletico and does for spain) and he has never scored a tap-in or poacher's goal. The boy is simply brilliant.

P.S Compare his 1st season in English football to the those of the rest and you'll get a hint of the future. I remember a lot of people here saying (at the start of the season) that he'll be a huge flop for liverpool grin cheesy smiley huh sad angry lipsrsealed undecided cry

B$ You decamp, go check the meaning of the word, 'Supporter'. I am a proud Liverpool fan and can u imagine what it's like not contending for the league? But I stick to the club thru thick and thin. Am I a supporter? -Sure.

You also realize that Teams rise and fall, players come and go but he most lasting part of a club is its support.
SO ask yourself if u're a supporter or someone who love's a permanent high. Hell, even drugs and booze can't offer you that.

What superb strategy, Rafa got it all wrong right from the start, did u see the first 20 minutes of that game, a better team would have shagged Liverpool black and blue in the first 20 mins.
Babel was just about the only thing he did right on the night, everything else was down to luck, Gerrard (Move him as much as he wanted) was ineffective all night, Liverpool didn't outsmart Arsenal, Arsenal pressed the self destruct button on themselves, we could have squeezed Liverpoo to death if we had a much tighter defence, tell me if that was Chelsea who scored in the 13th minute, wouldn't that have been game over.
Good tactics involves spreading your team's productivity over 90 mins. That's where Wenger lost it. Football is not played for 20 mins. After that initial spell, Arsenal had Zilch to offer. You dont play at that pace at this level and I always saw that scoreline happening. The gunners did well but over the 90mins, Liverpool were far superior.

Saying that, I really am impressed with the young Skrtel. MOTM for me!

You'll neva walk alone, will you?

God, I miss these boards. The lovely thing about yesterday was the HIghs and lows of the game. Emotions alternated a bit too much for my heart. I don't think I can withstand that kinda tension again. GREAT VICTORY TO THE REDS! Babel and Kuyt impressed BUT believe it or not, my MOM was Skrtel!! LOve that Guy's spirit.

Now to that annual Chelsea thing

yeah he shuld be commended but thats because he's playing for liverpool who havnt seen anyone score more than 20 goals since fowler.van nistelrooy scored more in his first season so its not that much od abig deal tho for liverpool fans i guess it would b,not having to see any striker of thiers score 20 for alongtime, thats because they are a shit club. torres is a really good striker between
'Shit' post

What has the hilighted part got to do with anything? Van nitelroy scored 23 in his 1st season and Torres is on 20 (currently) with 8 matches to go and he's in hot form. Do the math. secondly, all his goals have been from open play (and fantastic as well) give him the penalties and free kicks and you'd have a striker with at least 28 goals.

BESIDES, Liverpool are currently the highest scoring side in England this season-101 Goals!!!! (all competitions included). So much for 'shit' club.

Tough one to call BUT playing Arsenal home for the 2nd leg is key. Also Arsenal have to play Man-U 3 days after that leg. I feel Liverpool will win based on their having a bigger and fresher squad to pick from.

Grumpy Grant?lol grin grin grin Chelsea just might lick Liverpool's butt.Anelka,Lampard and co will sure keep y'all Scousers busy,so busy that even Torres might end up joining the defenders grin
My point,Liverpool still has a lot of work to do midfield and defensive.I'm not too impressed with the way Inter kept breaking through the defence during that match.
A defense that's leaked the fewest away goals in the league and just 1 in the last 5 champions league games? OR a midfield that consists of Mascherano, Alonso, Gerrard, Babel and Yossi( Scored more goals than Drogba)? What's your point? AND why did you have to call Fat-Frank? He's played against Liverpool for about 600mins(6 matches+xtra time) in the CL for 3 consecutive years and has scored ZZZILCH! As for Anelka, poor fellow. @ bolton, he had more opportunity to contend for highest goal scorer but since he left, he hasn't even had a half-decent perfomance!

However, I respect chelsea (who wouldn't?) but I honestly feel Liverpool could beat them defensively (with Agger and Skrtel back) and in the midfield area.
