debosky: But we beat you twice, which gives two more than you've managed. Arsenal just crawled into 4th on goal difference, don't you think you should vent in an Everton or Aston Villa thread? And before you start crying ala Wenger style, EVERY team gets decisions go against them. If Gerrard's goal hadn't been wrongly ruled out as an offside against Stoke, Liverpool would just be 1 point behind UTD. But they'll never mention it. Arsenal kids should grow up. I've gotta log off now, but I'll miss you arrogant lot!

debosky: 1. Wow! Six Refs loving Liverpool, Rafa's the man! 2. Read my post again. 'After the 6-3 win' 3. Beat Chelsea after 2 yrs in the league(not been beaten by them in the EPL since 6-1agg) and 0 yrs in the UCL. Loving this. |

@ SAURON and TBK417 Awwww! How nice. What a lovely couple! tkb417: merely answered that question, didn't I? Keane and Yossi still molested Vidic that day. A few months later, Torres and gerrard abused him. He yelped and got two red cards for his troubles. Poor fellow must have nightmares of Torres, Gerrard and Keane running circles around him! Please reply, i'm enjoying rubbing it in!! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 5:04pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
tkb417: Sauron must be your boyfriend or something. If I recall Rafa used a forward line of Keane and later Babel to beat UTD at Anfield. So the answer is YES! I also recall Alonso and Yossi playing. Use your head before you hit that keyboard. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 4:48pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
coded guy: At last some educated argument. Rafa mentioned before the game that he knew UTD defenders had problems with pacy players running behind them and that they defended very high up the ptch. So he opted for Liverpool's quickest players Torres and Gerrard to partner up-front. And it paid off. Vidic was shaken by Torres running behind him for the first goal and HAD to foul Gerrard for the 3rd. Between those, Gerrard's run also forced Evra to make a late challenge for the second goal. Every team has weaknesses. For Liverpool, its breaking down very defensive teams. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 4:15pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
tkb417: Now let me teach you some 'footie', that Arsenal thing you alluded to happened like this; In 06/07 Rafa flunked his tactics and Arsenal punished him in both the FA Cup and the Carling cup in one week. Now listen, after this he got things right and beat them 4-1 (familiar scoreline?) at Anfield. Since that 06/07 loss, he's met Arsenal 6 times, winning 2 and securing 4 draws. So what on earth are you talking about? I wish you'd just admit you were inferior to Liverpool on that day rather than inferior to the Manchester United of former days. tkb417: People like you never learn and that comment in bold letters there paints the picture of a clown. people that write insults on threads are cowards in life. Again you use a UTD-Barca example. Don't you watch any other team? The sun must rise out of Fergie's ass for you. My mates here are laughing their bollocks off! @ coded guy Vidic had a bad day at Anfield earlier in the season too and got sent-off, remember? Doesn't it seem strange to you that he saved his two bad days this season against the same team? Or is it possible that Rafa knows how to unsettle him? Tactics my friend. This is not Pro Evo Soccer. Also use facts, not smileys. debosky: And that was the last time Arsenal beat Liverpool. A genius realizes his errors and learns fast. Wenger hasn't beaten Rafa in 6 attempts since that 6-3 result. Use your head. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 3:22pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
very good. You have played into ma hands i have this post on tape. You mess up againts UTD once, you'll never hear the last from me cos according to this line, UTD will never be able to beat Liverpool so long Benitez and SAF are involved nice one.

Do you have a reading problem as well? I said that IF Fergie doesn't correct his tactics, Liverpool would beat them again and the same goes for Chelsea. Is it REALLY that difficult to understand? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 2:57pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
tkb417: The game of footie is all about the tactics of the day. The wrong tactics make good teams look poor while suitable tactics make good teams look like world-beaters. if you asked ANY Manchester United player which match they would rather win than any other, they'll all say its this. So what are the odds of THIS important match being their poorest in the EPL for 17 years? And what are the odds of them getting beaten by the same team twice after going a goal up on each occasion? The answer my friend is TACTICS. The constructive thing anyone should do is ask where Rafa got it right over Chelsea, Real and Manchester United (home and away) using various team-setups. What annoys most is the fact that you guys NEVER see anything good in other teams. And thats why fans from other clubs are having a good laugh. And please don't compare Liverpool with Barcelona; they are two very different teams. FINALLY to answer your question, I'm sure that if fergie does not come up with the right tactics, drawing Liverpool will be the biggest thing that hits Manchester United this season. Trust me on this, Rafa has Chelsea and Manchester United codes all deciphered. |

Lloyd~Iy: Reina has won three consecutive Barclay's Golden Glove Awards (Highest no of clean sheets) prior to this season. Of course you never knew that; he doesn't play for the Mancs. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 2:07pm On Mar 17, 2009 |
tkb417: You really can't see beyond the mancs, can you? I mean- getting beat by a team twice in a season,(Agg 6-2) Vidic having his worst game, Carrick 'choosing' to give the ball away cheaply and frequently, Ronaldo avoiding the ball like the plague and not getting close enough to the penalty area for an Olympic dive, Evra mis-timing his tackles, Clean-sheet VDS opting to let in 4 goals in a match and Fergie running into a hole and refusing to give his post-game comments HAD NOTHING to do with the opposition. After all, it happens in training sometimes. In fact, Liverpool just stood still while Vidic kicked the ball off them and into VDS goal! You really should learn to appreciate the game of football. I have a feeling I know more about Manchester United than you do to be honest. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 11:45am On Mar 17, 2009 |
tkb417: Now that's the thing! Your not playing well could be determined by the opposition. You'd agree with me when I say that Saturday's performance wasn't your worst. Other teams are said to have been defeated while walking through the tunnels of Old Trafford. I feel teams in the UCL (especially) will be studying that match critically because as Benitez said earlier, that team has weaknesses coping with quick attackers. Its a pity Wenger's been waxing lyrical about how 'untouchable' the mancs are. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Forever Reds by tocdee(m): 9:31am On Mar 17, 2009 |
I'm a level-headed Liverpool fan and while I'll be the first to admit that the Mancs will lift the EPL trophy, I can't understand why the fans can't accept defeat graciously. All I hear is that they had an off-day, same thing I heard when Liverpool broke Chelsea's home record and broke another with Real's biggest defeat in the UCL and their first (and only)defeats since last year. I respect Manchester United BUT I cant believe they would want to face Liverpool in the UCL. What makes you think it'll be any different? Real Madrid's president declared before the 1st leg that they would beat Liverpool 4-0 over the 2 legs and that got the reds charged up. A magazine was released on Saturday morning with VDS and Vidic on its front page in Manchester with an exclusive on 'The Secret of their Impenetrable Defence' and Rooney was so sure of victory that he made the most childish comments ever. My point is; don't be like the proud Chelsea under Mourinho, respect other teams OR you'll get another stuffing!!

switch47: I feel the big deal is that its the biggest match in England and I dare-say Europe. Throw in the “facts” that United had not previously lost a home game for more than a year, in the intervening months had become English, European and world champions and Liverpool had not won by such a margin at Old Trafford since 1936 and Saturday’s final score was almost as improbable as Ronaldo ignoring a mirror! |

Lloyd~Iy: With the Arses yet to play at Anfield, Old Trafford plus games against Chelsea and Manchester City (albeit 9 points behind 3rd position), you flatter yourself. Your performance against Blackburn was a one-off. The Roma performance comes to mind. On the other hand, Liverpool have played all the top 8 clubs home and away (save Arsenal) and have the likes of West-Ham and West-Brom to contend with. Arsenal is level with Aston Villa BUT Villa have a much easier run-in of games and you should be more concerned with 4th than 3rd. Anyway, 3rd, 4th, what's the difference, really? Loved Gerrard's celebration. Will be used in EPL adverts for years I'm sure. As for Torres, after his goal, he simply raised five fingers to Manc fans (5 Euro Cups you twerps!) |

Lloyd~Iy: I'm not too sure what that was about but IF it's what i think it is, then here's an award for the joke of the week I don't mind the Arses, by the way, and they'll be celebrating Champion's league qualification like the trophy itself by May. |

Those rankings are authentic, you can verify from the UEFA official site. Its based as usual on the last 5 years' performance of each team and Sevilla is above man United because they lifted the UEFA cup twice in the given period. That's why AC Milan is still that highly ranked. i |

Well, we don't care if you love Real Madrid and hate Liverpool BUT don't go giving us crap history. The most important bit of history is that your Real Madrid were given an intensive lesson in defending and attacking yesterday, end of. |

While I'm happy for my Red Machine, I feel a bit sorry for Casillas, The guy was immense! Especially with the saves he made to deny Gerrard thrice! Throw in the Skrtel header, the Mascherano shot and the Torres' save, then you'll understand how let-down he must have felt by his club. You'll bounce back! by the way, gerrard's the leading goal scorer with 7 goals though he's missed 2 matches so far through injury. That makes it a total of 16goals from last CL to this. Highest in Europe! And some say he's overated

OFFICIAL: REDS ARE EUROPE'S BEST Liverpool are the number one team in Europe, according to Uefa's co-efficient ranking system. Wednesday's famous 1-0 victory over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu propelled the Reds to the top of the official Uefa table for the first time since 1985. The complicated system ranks clubs on their performances in European competition over the past five years, with points being awarded for matches won and the standard of opposition. Liverpool top the table with a score of 114.077 points, ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea, who are in second with 110.077 points. Arsenal (fifth) and Manchester United (seventh) are the other English teams who occupy a position in the top ten. The Reds have also amassed the highest points total for the current season with a tally of 18.1775. Bayern Munich are in second place, while La Liga clubs Barcelona and Atletico Madrid hold joint third position. UEFA co-efficient rankings: 1 - Liverpool FC (114.077) 2 - Chelsea FC (110.077) 3 - Barcelona (109.403) 4 - AC Milan (109.306) 5 - Arsenal FC (101.077) 6 – Sevilla FC (100.403) 7 - Manchester Utd FC (99.077) 8 - Bayern Munich (93.664) 9 – Olympique Lyonnais (90.576) 10 - Inter Milan (87.306) http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldown/N163404090227-1200.htm My point is: the manager of the top team is actually the most criticized of them all. Hate; that's what I call it. |

Quote- "To be fair, if Robinho plays like he did against Portsmouth last week, he's the least of our worries. I'd be more concerned about Bellamy, who's scored a couple for City already, and Ireland who's had a very good season. The good thing about Bellamy is that as soon as things don't go his way, he'll start acting all arsey and will probably get booked, which takes a lot out of his game. But I'm confident in our back line, whatever players we put out. As for the middle and up front, I think the match is screaming out for Riera and Benayoun on the flanks, with Torres and Kuyt up top. In the middle, I'd like to see Mascherano holding things together and Lucas being given a freer role to allow him to attack more. One thing for certain is that City's back four are as dodgy as Arsenal this season, so I think Torres will get a lot of joy out of them. Richards is still out, and Dunne is back so that's good news too. Torres will have time to give Shay Given an autograph after scoring by the time Dunne has caught up with him!" Ripped outta my skull! Couldn't have put it better myself. Alonso's suspended, but of course Y.N.W.A.
