But Onifade said nothing of such happened, adding that Audu’s son spoke with an impostor.

“For the benefit of those who have been hyperventilating all day over the false allegation that Peter Obi dropped a phone call on the son of former Governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi, please note that no call took place between the two this morning.

LeoDeKing:
This explains it all.

With the abandoned recklessness pandora obituary lies over none issues, I'm 100% sure he had actually called Audu's phone line to pass a message intended for sinister purpose. But when he discovered the receiver on the other end was not a nitwit, he hung up.

But to deflect public perception of his desperation, the unintelligent loser is now telling us his duplicates are all over the places. Duplicate you for what?

I have said it, I will say it again?

Why should court proceedings be altered because of one incompetent illiterate hiding his incompetence behind religion to get power?

Buhari filed cases at the Presidential Petition Tribunal, there was no live broadcast.

Atiku did same, no live broadcast

Even obituarist did same at state level, no live broadcast.

And I believe there is a legal purpose for that.

Why then should the legal process be abused because of one illiterate who can't pass ordinary Philosophy in school? Is this the first time there will be Election Petition Tribunal?
lol...you didn't see the part in the report, where it reads that Atiku and the PDP were stated to be the petitioners making that request?..plus Atiku certainly didn't study Philosophy...

Madam the first thing you need to do is stop babying him in any way. Try to ensure food is available for you and your kid ONLY. That guy needs to face his demons, you can't do it for him. He shouldn't expect food when he contributes nothing to getting the food, not even an effort. For every 100 naira in his pocket, he should choose between the basic necessity of using it for food or for his urge to gamble.

What are you lots complaining lol. Shey, you guys said that English is not a measure of intelligence? The koko of the matter is that most western countries don't rate you. You are of no economic value to them. The Chinese, who can't speak English, are always issued visas and given special treatment because they bring in a lot of money to the country. Do you know that the Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain don't need visas to the UK? They are issued E-visas. This is because of the amount of money they are bringing into the UK. They have bought off most of the properties in Central London. The blunt reality is that we Nigerians are noise makers who overestimate our economic value to other countries.

Car TalkRe: I Used Synthethic Motor Oil In My Engine And This Happend by Treadway: 6:23pm On May 15, 2023
Ok. First, Castrol makes synthetic oils mostly in fact I only knew the synthetics until I started seeing the ones they sell at Enyo stations.. those crappy mineral ones are made here in Nigeria but sold with that name, esp that 20w50..it is made somewhere in Ogun state, buy the keg and check. It is crappy cos it is not even Api SL, when we don dey SN+ (Mobil XHP) and oando Api SN certified

Second, what happened here is that the former user was likely not using synthetic, he/she was likely using 20w50. The engine has become accustomed to that viscosity, and one of the downsides of that is that those clearances you talked about are now wider, due to the wear and tear the engine has undergone to pump and circulate the oil. Now when you switch from using high viscosity 20w50 to low viscosity synthetics which I am guessing you used either 5w20/30 ( I know synthetics also have high viscosity types) then you will have mad oil burn cos a lot of the oil will seep through the open clearance. It can even get worse when the car has sludge and then you pour in a synthetic that basically washes all that sludge off into the system, that one na serous gbege!

The solution has been said in this section many times. If a car has been serviced with 20w50 for 2 years or more, just continue using the 20w50

When you get the commercial license, trucking companies will not hesitate to hire and help you with work permit especially in California but they may underpay you for a while.

Some weeks ago my dad asked me to do some tests and send to him, (He is a medical doctor), I did them, turns out to be fertility tests and all was perfect.
I just told him about my fiance and my plans to get married in some months time and he said she has to do fertility test before he can agree to the marriage.

This was very shocking for me as he insisted that it is his position, I haven't told my fiance cos I dont know how to and my fiance is scheduled to pay my parents a visit for the first time in Port Harcourt in 2 weeks time.
My fiance is from Delta but lives in Portharcout as my parents while we are from Port harcourt.

Well I'm thankful. We are growing. The issues that strangled the populace since start of the year posed a challenge to most businesses, esp luxury goods like cars, but thankfully we still dey see our own sell. The new uphill task is getting new goods, prices are beyond crazy rn. Also, for this economy, mattress sef don turn luxury goods oo.. and really the walk-in customers have been quite low, we may go a week without selling one pillow, but with a few supply contracts and online orders (this one has really been a blessing), when the sales does eventually happen it has been high revenue and high profit sales. So despite the crazy first couple of months, we are still achieving our goals and 'mathing' up better figures than last FY. Above all, family is fine, bouncing and in good health, and morale and libido is still high...😎😁

Just like you don't depend directly on anyone abroad, so is someone on subsistence farming don't wait on GDP growth

But if we look at it deeply we depend on each other for survival. From the point of buying, shipping vehicles from abroad to Nigeria, has your car business,at anytime never had little input from diasporan?
my car business is international trade na. Money didn't come into the country, it left the country. Na car(s) came into the country, and I added to the GDP by paying custom duties. As soon as I buy that oil filter and that Mobil 5w30 (black cover) to service it, I have added to the GDP yet again.
TravelRe: Europe-based Nigerian Man Living In Tent Shares Struggle (video) by Treadway:

Are you saying the GDP figures you talk about has direct positive bearing on an average Nigerian?

With minimum wage of less than $50 for those lucky to get Federal and state employment. While most in private establishments receives less. Is it going to be this hard for an average Nigerian,if it were to be possible that half of $2000 GDP per capital is truly utilised

When you consider education, health and other sectors getting huge budget with nothing to show for it.That small 4% in dollars that escaped government corruption touch lives and goes around than the big 96%
I will explain this once. I hope you listen, and more importantly understand. As men, we have to be more logical and rational than what I see on display a lot here.

GDP in economics is defined as the the total monetary or market value of all the finished goods and services produced within a country's borders in a specific time frame, usu a year. This has nothing to do with all you have said now about corruption and what not. GDP is the figure showing the total productivity of Nigerians even despite all the aforementioned issues you raised and the corruption. So what it simply means is that we had a GDP of over 500billion dollars, and you have disapora remittance standing at around 20billion (4%) it is silly to say that it is significant compared to 480billion (96%). It is just common sense .

Now like I have said and still saying, the country's Forex reserve now stands at about 35billion USD, this despite japa wave which leads to huge capital flight also running into billions of USD, and not also forgetting foreign debts etc. But to stay on point, we can clearly see how diaspora remittance is significant source of Forex inflow. That something is significant for Forex inflow doesn't translate to being significant for GDP. It is basic mathematics. 20 is significant to 35, not to 500.

Also, no one I know is dependent on any person abroad. I have never received even a pen from anybody abroad as a child, teen or adult. If there are a horde of people somewhere waiting cap in hand for someone abroad as their means to survive, my advice would be they should be more intentional and productive with their lives one way or another.

We are talking GDP here...

What is the percentage of the population of Nigerians living abroad to those living in the country? Can you compare the remittances to that being made by nationals of other countries to their homelands?

The remittances even dipped recently from previous figures. APC destructive government has been blamed for the relative loss of confidence in the country by some members of the diaspora.

No objective person would categorize even the percentage you allocated as insignificant...

Back out revenue from crude and natural gas sales and give the contribution of other sectors of the economy...

Go and study what diaspora remittances is doing to Indian economy before coming to speak English....
very predictable response. I am not surprised with your response. I have come to see that most people here will hold on to wrong points even if it kills them. Thankfully, basic math won't bend. I have enlightned those before you on this topic adequately well...and I will try to keep correcting some erroneous and overly sensationalized notions such as this one. The correct statement of fact is that remittances are significant part of FOREx, particularly in this times, but is not a significant portion of the GDP. Na basic Maths and basic English.

Go and read my previous posts for all the stats/facts you probably haven't even considered ....but I know you won't..lol. Bye

nice discourse...however, I am committed to dismissing this non-factual statement whenever I read it. Diaspora temittance (around $20b) is 4% of national GDP (over $500b)....that is NOT very significant. What you should have said is that remittances are a significant source of Forex. DeLaRue:
That 40% salary increase was shocking. The agreements they are rushing to sign are befuddling.

We need fiscal and monetary tightening to bring our debt profile to a sustainable level, not reckless spending.

Reckless spending = more debt, more debt = increased chance that we default on repayment, default will = crash of the naira to well over N1, 200 to $1. To put things in context, the Egyptian pound lost 50% of its value last year alone.

Naira crash = hyper inflation which will finally turn the economy upside down.

By then, we will be in the clutches of IMF, like Ghana, Sri Lanka, Argentina, Egypt, and Lebanon.

Inflation in Lebanon is over 250%. Bread there costs 50 times as much as it did 3 years ago.

That's the equivalent of buying a N500 loaf of bread for N25,000.

All because they failed to manage their economy properly.

Tinubu needs to declare a debt state of emergency as soon as he gets in and do the following:

1. Temporary ban on salary increases
2. Ban on certain infrastructural projects for 2 years - e.g no new major road construction to be approved. Let's do patching for now
3. Orasanye report or a revised version should be implemented. Many agencies should be abolished or merged
4. Sell off non performing refineries that are still gulping tens of billions annually.

In the mean time:

1. Channel resources into education - elevate their infrastructure, keep agreements made with lecturers, and help our schools produce graduates that can compete on a global level,

2. Increase import duty exponentially on non-essential reckless imports that is destroying the value of the naira. I don't understand why my local supermarket has 4 different types of almond milk. 10 years ago, nobody had heard of almond milk, and we survived.

3. Spend on improving efficiency in public service delivery.

A few years ago, registering a company was complicated and in many cases required bribing CAC staff. Today, the process is as smooth as butter because the entire process has been moved online and no.more bribery. The efficiency gains are massive. This approach should be adopted across all government departments. It will significantly reduce if not eliminate corruption, at very little cost.

4. Pay down our debt.

5. By the end of year 2, start loosening the purse strings again, but more responsibly than the current govt. Paying down the debt significantly will help to stabilise the Naira, and help Mr Tinubu to start investing in priority infrastructure again. New roads, better schools, better hospitals etc

Instead of immediate salary increases, he should consider removing anyone earning N40, 000 or below from paying income tax. This will have less impact on inflation.
every single thing you wrote here is just 💯💯💯.

Well done dissecting the problems and proferring actionable solutions. Unfortunately, as far as the APC is concerned, I won't hold my breath. As someone said up there, not only will they mess things up further, but be rest assured their supporters and praise singers will spend all day everyday blaming Buhari, just as they spent 8 years blaming Jonathan.

It's refreshing that we still have some sound people on here. At a point, I was starting to think abi na AI copied answers ni.

With all the big gara-gara on this forum I would think you would at least tell us your name and bona fides. I double dare you to tell us so we can get a sense of what makes you so contemptuous of Nigerians living abroad.

I understand your desperate NEED to disparage Nigerians living abroad. Sowing uncertainty and doubt among diasporans makes those stuck in Nigeria feel better about their own bleak prospects in the general COMPETITION with their mates abroad. It's galling to know you're jobless or making ₦‎150K salary when your university classmate in US/UK sends triple that amount home every month. So your response is to make fun of them, make them feel uncertain and uncomfortable. To understand why this is a FUTILE tactic, you have to think back. In the 1970s lots of Nigerians abroad returned home for good and raised their families. A MAJORITY of them fell into poverty. Many of their children are now back in the Anglo-West.

After the return of democracy in 1999, there was another surge of returnees. These ones learned the lessons of the 1970's and didn't completely uproot themselves. I was among that cohort. By 2012 it became clear that Nigeria was still a disaster zone. Right now in 2023, for well known reasons, no Nigerian residing abroad will take the chance of going back. So all the efforts to make us feel bad about our choices are FUTILE because we have 50 years of REAL RESULTS AND EXPERIENCE with which to make comparisons. Hope is not a life strategy!
