It's the type of religiosity that sees fraudulent Nigerian politicians given the chief seats in the pews of your churches, where your "pastors" are multi-billionaires in a nation where >80% struggle to feed. The type of religiosity that sees Nigeria house the largest church on earth, while most live in abject squalor. The type of religiosity that thinks those who obtain a visa are "blessed" by God, ignoring the millions who will never earn enough to be able to afford a cab to the US embassy. What "god" do you think they pray to? Or did John 3:16 only include those who are lucky enough to lie their way into obtaining a US visa?

What I noticed is that, the information you filled on your DS-160 form has given them a picture of your profile, I think they’ve already concluded whether to issue or not before the interview, the interview is just for you to come and defend what you filled online, because We practiced over 30 questions but only these few was asked.

Congrats on getting your visa. However you committed a few of my pet peeves…

1. Obtaining a visa is not “God in action”. It’s simply satisfying visa requirements.

2. What you “noticed” has been standard practice for decades. Nothing new.

Please ask your questions here as they may help others.

1. Always say the truth at your interviews rather than what someone else thinks the VO wants to hear.

2. Always remember, the VO is American, they know how their educational system works. Any high school student here could have easily told you a community college would never offer pharmacy as a major.

3. Remember, your visa interview is your opportunity to show the VO that you are personally invested in your education, telling him you’re studying because of a prior promise to your dad does not convey that. It simply confirms that you have no idea what you’re doing… combined with having no clue about the difference between pharmacy and pharmacy technician.

I wish you better luck at your next interview.

The fact that you don't know what you did wrong makes it easy to dismiss you as an unserious student.

You clearly don't have a clue what course you were admitted for. Your school is a community college (2-year college), there is absolutely no way it offers pharmacy as a major. The major is pharmacy technology... basically, folks who assist store pharmacists take medication orders.

Also saying that you chose your course of study because of a promise you made to your dad makes your interview all the more silly.

I got an information from reliable friend about Diplomatic visa that is run by an agent. I spoke with the agent about the visa they do for various countries like US, UK, Canada and other European countries.
Please I need advice about this kind of visa if it's true or it's just a scam..
The agent requested for 100k to process UK which will be out in 3wks and the visa will last for 6 months.

That your friend is "reliable" indeed. I doubt you have an idea what a diplomatic visa means.

Why don't you connect with other people in general? I would be wary of just any Nigerians in Texas. Lots of scammers there.

1. This is your "cousin's sister" (isn't that your cousin too), your chances of getting the visa are slim to none.
2. The school will not send you a personal invitation.
3. The embassy is not interested in an invitation letter from your school or "cousin's sister". They will not read them.

For someone who is going to attend a month of academic training together with the conference on a B1/B2 visit visa, is it compulsory or advisable that the host includes a letter to show the embassy that my insurance is covered during my stay? Although they will cover my accommodation and local transport. Please i will appreciate anyone who can assist with other necessary information that will enhance my visa interview.

There is no insurance requirement for obtaining a US visa.

Here's what is stated in her I20 form....

Estimated Average Cost for 8 months: $36,500 ( Tution: 26,000 + Living expenses: 8,500)

Then Her GA takes care of total tuition and also pays monthly stipends.

So, in this case does it mean that she doesn't have any deficit?

Technically, what your wife owes the school is tuition, not living expenses (unless it includes mandatory expenses like health insurance). Her GA likely covers all tuition and insurance. The stipend covers the rest of the living expenses. She has no deficit.

Trust me, this was the same type of GA i had.

I have been seeing the term 'deficit' in some Visa interview transcripts and I'll appreciate an explanation on what it means or in which type case it applies?

My wife has admission and also got a Graduate Assistantship that takes care of her full tuition and also includes a monthly stipend.
Please I'll like to know if this 'deficit' term apply to her?
i.e. What accounts for the deficit? Does it mean living expenses?

Lastly, since her tuition is taken care of by the GA, would she still need to show proof of funds?

Deficit is the difference between total tuition costs and how much of it is waived by scholarships or fellowships. In other words, how much tuition costs you have left to pay.

Since your wife has a GA that covers everything plus stipend, deficit does not apply to her.

I’m using usnews and google to filter through schools that offer software engineering or computer science but it’s quite tedious and might not be efficient. I could be spending that time preparing for GRE and TOEFL.

Can anyone offer a better approach on how to streamline my search better?

Years ago, we had very little online and relied on personally sending letters to individual schools, one by one… you had to wait weeks to get application forms to fill.

You have it exactly backwards. Africa isn’t moving forward, not because someone isnt willing to spoon feed you on the process to immigrate, but because of the Africans in Africa today.

I would wager a bigger reason Africa is what it is is our generally lazy attitude. Why take initiative when someone else can do it and spoon feed me?
