With the devaluation of the Naira, there's no way revenues from current electricity tariffs will offset the debt to gencos. It's either the government opts to pay the disparity or they allow the Discos and Gencos increase their prices.

If you have Nigerian Army University, all other military and paramilitary institutions will clamor for theirs. The real intent of such structures for the sons of the soil to give back to their natal communities. The Army's core mandate is protecting territorial integrity and entrenching a secure nation. No one mandates the Army to give civilians tertiary education, at least for now that we are facing a myriad of security challenges.

Yes, roads open up communities for development. However, that doesn't mean you should embark on such when there are better projects. The so called superhighway might not even be complete in the next 10 years. We all know how projects in Nigeria linger till eternity

You can never please Nigerians. No matter how cogent your reasons for doing something are, they must disparage your efforts and use mouth to construct and repair other projects for you. Maintenance of old infrastructure is just what it is. Maintenance. But construction of other new infrastructures is called development. Both are running concomitantly. Haba!

One day, just find time to drive the new Kaduna to Kano Road or Lagos to Ibadan. You'll know the difference between repair and reconstruction.

Someone should please tell me why this road is priority.
There already exists a dual carriageway from Lagos-Benin-Warri-PH-Uyo-Calabar.However,many sections of the road are in a terrible state. I'm wondering why they can't channel the 1 trillion whether PPP or govt funded to the existing road. Sha, rumours abound that BAT has interests in the contractor Hitech.

Another option is to use the funds to at least kickstart the coastal railway. It has far more benefits compared to the road project.

Unfortunately, people think lecturers earn well. But it's a fallacy. As it stands, I doubt you'll find enthusiastic students yearning to become lecturers. Because they see what their teachers are going through. Today, a full professor struggles to have a decent car. If they have, it's another struggle to maintain them. If the situation goes untamed, the grim consequences are in the short term. Universities will become just like how secondary schools have deteriorated.

Whatever it is, let them make sure that people especially below 50 years don't lose their jobs. Harmonise the agencies and push people to where they're needed.
