How can two different high court give different judgement?
Does a high court have the power to overrule another high court judgement?

PoliticsRe: The Plight Of Tony Kabaka And Why Edo People Must Understand Lobby In Politics by Unigrad: 5:17pm On Jun 19, 2020
Ehinmen3:
By Pa. Ehinmen

The oxford dictionary defines Lobbying as any attempt by individuals or private interest groups to influence the decisions of government.
Except we want to be hypocrites, there is no one of us that have not lobbied before. As humans we lobby in business to gain advantage and to will contracts. Let's be careful to note that lobby is different from bribery. Lobby is recognized by the constitution and it is not a crime to lobby. In fact is is a fundamental human right to lobby. Lobbying in some form is inevitable in any political system and it is done all over the word.
In the build up to an election, most persons who are contesting for office do not have the funds or connection to achieve their aim, hence the aspirants form campaign organizations by which they solicit for funds, connection and other form of assistance that will aid their victory in a legal way.

Quite recently, both the APC and PDP announced the price of their governorship nomination form at 22.5 million and 21 million naira respectively. The question is, how can an individual spend so much for just a party form? What about the campaign it self?

Now we can clearly see why it is difficult for a youth in his 30s to seek such office except they have strong financial back up. Financial donations are therefore very important in electioneering campaign. However, like the saying goes 'there is no free lunch in Freetown'.

While aspirants are going about soliciting for funds and other assistance through their campaign organizations, they will encounter people who will freely donate money and render them assistance because they have read their manifestos and believe in their agenda.

In most cases, these free givers only makes up 10% of campaign donations while the remaining 90% donations and assistance comes from individuals best referred to as LOBBYISTS.

After reading your manifesto, lobbyist looks for how they will benefit from your government if elected before they donate or render you any assistance. In most cases, they make sure they have written or oral agreement with you in front of credible witness.
This is the plight of tony kabaka that Edo people must understand. Kabaka as a lobbyist worked for Adams oshiomole in all his electioneering campaign and when oshiomole won he rewarded him with a contract to collect daily taxes.
Kabaka was under contract with the government of Adams Oshiomole to help collect daily taxes also known as tickets from motorists and bike riders in the 18 Local Government Areas of Edo state. Kabaka did this efficienly through his company 'Akugbe Ventures' throughout the tenure of Adams Oshiomole.
In the build up to the 2016 elections in Edo state, Kabaka as a lobbyist was in support of another aspirant but oshiomole convinced him to support his anointed candidate Godwin obaseki with the promise from both of them that he will renew kabaka's ticket collection contract.
However, this was not the case, when obaseki eventually won with the full support of kabaka and other party members, he cancelled his ticket collection contract and said he will be using technology to collect tickets henceforth and not manually.

This to me is a betrayal! Not just a betrayal of trust but a betrayal of agreement. Akugbe ventures had branches all over Edo state with approximately 1000 youths employed in the company. Now all those youths have been jobless for 4 years now. How do you think kabaka should feel?
Even if the Governor does not want them to collect tickets again, can't he compensate them in another way?
For those people calling kabaka a thief, the questions is what did he steal from you or the government? Did he not fufil the tax remittance agreement he had with oshiomole? Did oshiomole ever complained that they did not remitt complete tax?
All I see in those insulting kabaka is jelosy. Such people don't know anything about political investment and the game of lobby which is lawful.
Edo is wiser now and we are all ready to support the man of the people Pastor Osagie IZE IYAMU.

Pa. Ehinmen is a writer, a Nairalander, and a member of pastor Osagie ize-iyamu youth movement from Edo State.
From the beginning of your article, I know you were paid to do this useless write-up. I'm from Edo State and I had interactions with several Tony Kabaka boys. I know what played out during his reign of ticketing. Before I enumerate what happened, I want to ask you, how much were Tony Kabaka remitting to the government? Where did he got the #1B he celebrated sometime ago? You that is doing this write-up that's full of errors, can you boost of #10m in your account?
Let me enumerate what happened
1) During his reign, his boys were like terrors in Edo State, they rain insults on people, molest and beat up drivers, hawkers, market women and men including old and young because they never care.
2) Tony Kabaka was now like the governor of the state, nobody talks to him. He can do and undo. Have seen him severally blocking major roads in benin city, nobody dare near him nor ask him to leave the road.
3) Some of his boys were taking home #300k, #250k, 150k, 100k, 70 or 75k, 50k and the least was #20k daily depending on your rank. His boys were all ranked. Tony Kabaka made a law that all his members must be coming to his hotel to spend part of the money (spend it on prostitutes and drinks). Each members are made to spend a pre-determined amount depending on what each earn. There was a list of all his boys in the hotel recording the amount spent. When he did his wedding, he asked all the members to contribute #20k each to him to support his wedding and the cloth material he sold was #20k. Failure to follow the rules, you will be sack.
These are the few points I can touch now, if I lie, op, come out to say it.
From your writeup, you expect Obaseki not to agree to them initially? He has to agree because he knows what he want.
Mark it, Edoites are wise, we hate godfatherism. This was the secret Oshiomole used to deceived Edoites. He knew we don't support godfathers and that is why he used it to deceived us to gain power. Now, we are ready to tell him that Abuja or security forces can't stop our vote. Edoites will decide who will govern.
Political revolution is starting from Edo State, it will spread to other states in no distance time.
Thank you.

PoliticsRe: Edo 2020: We Will Obey Obaseki’s COVID-19 Gazette In Conducting Primary ― APC by Unigrad: 6:16pm On Jun 18, 2020
[quote author=wwwihy post=90814119]Ahead of its June 22 Governorship Primary Election in Edo state, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, explained how it would manoeuvre its ways around the COVID-19 gazette put in place by Gov. Godwin Obaseki which prohibits gatherings of more than 20 persons

The party has also inaugurated its Primary Election as well as Appeal Committees. National Vice Chairman, South South, Ntufam Hillard Etagbo Eta who inaugurated the committees with a host of other members of the National Working Committee NWC said he was standing in for the acting National Chairman, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi. He urged the committees to ensure a credible exercise. While Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state chairs the Primary Election Committee, Prof. Mustapha Bello would serve as the Chairman of the Appeal Committee for the primary election. Members of the primary election committee are Sen. Ajibola Bashiru (Secretary), Alhaji Abdullahi Abass, Hon. Ibrahim Sabo, Hon. Ocho Obioma, Hajia Amina Lantana Muhammed, and Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye. Other members of the Primary Election Appeal Committee are Dr. Kayode Ajulo (Secretary), Hon. Umar Ahmed, Nasiru Ibrahim Junju and Hon. Rasaq Mahmud Bamu.

Addressing the committees, Eta recalled how the party had commenced the process of the Edo primaries with the inauguration of Screening and the Appeal Committees. He said; “So, we are almost at the culmination of that process. It is with deep humility that I want to announce to Nigerians that those we have selected to do this onerous and herculean job for the party were carefully selected, some of the finest and best amongst us.

“Their job is very simple – to carry out the process of selecting the flag bearer of the party in Edo State and we know that after that exercise, there may be concerns, disagreements, that is why we have constituted members of the APC Governorship Primary Election Appeal Committee. “Having done the most important part of this ceremony, let me at this juncture inaugurate these two Commitees with the powers that have been conferred on me by the very generous members of the National Working Committee NWC who chosed His Excellency, Sen. Ajimobi on whose behalf, I perform this function”. Conducting Primaries Speaking with journalists shortly after the inauguration, Gov. Uzodinma explained how the party would conduct the June 22 primary election. He said; “In their wisdom, I have been appointed to chair the committee to conduct the primaries. I have been given the guidelines to drive the exercise. You are aware there is also a global pandemic, Covid-19 and there are some local legislations in Edo state.

“There is a law that does not allow more than 20 people to gather at a place. That is the beauty of Direct Primary. “When we get to Edo, we will deploy the necessary manpower to the various polling units with instructions that will not violate the local legislations that will enable our members not to gather more than 20 people at a place and by so doing, with a segmented approach, we will conduct a free and fair primary and our party will be happy with that”. Why APC is in crisis Uzodinma also urged party stakeholders to continue to work hard for its success, noting that APC is today dealing with several issues because of those who are envious of its electoral success. He said; “I want to thank Almighty God even when I know that this is coming at a time that our party is greatly challenged by some handiworks of our enemies and those who think the party has grown into national envy.

Just close your mouth.
Who told you that Edo people don't like Obaseki? Who told you Obaseki is the worst governor Edo has ever produce?
Obaseki performed more than Oshiomole. Go see all Oshiomole works, they are nowhere to be found because they were all substandard works.
Where is the #30B Oshiomole borrowed from world bank to arrest erosion in Edo State, did he do anything with it? It will take Edo state 25years to pay back the debt and Edo is still suffering from erosion problem. Show me where Obaseki have borrowed money?
Have leaves almost all my life in Edo State, I know much about Edo politics. If I tell you Obaseki performed 100%, I'm lying. He is human, he can make mistakes but all his performance are laudable and visible even to the blind.
Let's stop playing politics and be truthful for once. I'm saying this not because Obaseki gave me anything, have not met with him nor has he given me anything, I have to stand for what is true. My question is, have the APC said he has not perform?

PoliticsRe: *obaseki Allegedly Nursing Plan To Demolish Edo APC Secretariat* by Unigrad: 11:33pm On Jun 09, 2020
ChrisOsaEdo:
*Obaseki allegedly nursing plan to demolish Edo APC Secretariat*

Embattled Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki is yet to give up his plans to force himself on the people for second term ambition.

The Governor haven lost support of party faithfuls in the state has since resolved to autocratic measures to ensure he coerces the support of party members, despite his numerous violent measure he has continued to put in place to show the people that there will be consequences for anyone who chooses to oppose him, the people have stood their ground, willing to face any consequences from the Governor

They have been numerous threats to close businesses of those against him down, the recent was the demolition of the hotel belonging to an APC chieftain who Comr Tony kabaka, who made it clear that he was never going to support the incumbent Governor for a second term

After the NWC of the party changed the location of it's Edo state secretariat with a written letter duly signed by the National Chairman of the party Comr Adams Oshiomole, ChrisOsaMedia.come gathered that the Governor in is usual way of violence is alleged to have concluded plans to commence demolition of that new secretariat of the party in the state, which is located on No. 18 Ighiwiyisi street off airport road, Benin City.

It is alleged that Mr. Osagiede, who Obaseki is parading as his own APC (illegal) state publicity secretary, while discussing with some of his friends, boasted that there is no cause for alarm as the state government is perfecting plans to demolish the newly approved Edo state APC Secretariat.

The reason behind Obaseki’s intention to demolish the Secretariat is not far fetched as the Governor may have understood that his puppet Chairman Anslem Ojezua who has since been suspended by majority of party state excos, will not be functioning especially now that the governorship primary election has since been slated to hold June 22nd, and coupled with the fact that the embattled Governor losing grip of party faithfuls, and the only way he could emerge as candidate of the party is through coercion and violence, which the party and Edo people have vowed to resist.

I know you wrote this from your bedroom to score some political point.
Who are the Edo people you are talking about?
Are you the court that says Anslem Ojezua is not the authentic Edo APC chairman?
Are you supporting an individual to occupy government land that is met for the Edo people? Tell Tony Kabaka to bring the c of o of the land he build the hotel. Did Obaseki touch his house that has c of o?
Majority of Edoites are watching.
I and Majority of Edoites refuse to support any form of godfatherism. If APC refuse Obaseki the ticket, we will vote another party. Just watch and see.
Oshiomole deceived us with his antics of fighting godfatherism and we supported him for that and now he wants to become the godfather, haba, God forbid.
Without Obaseki, APC is gone in Edo State.
Did Obaseki not perform in governance? The political few are fighting him because he refused to share state money as usual. We are waiting for the corrupt politicians on election day. Let them prepare their thugs as usual but they will not succeed this time.
God night.

Leave them to do their thing. It doesn’t mean you are a weakling or scared but don’t fight over property’s with them. Just don’t do it.

Surprise them on the date of the burial by showing up to pay your last respect or better still you can shun it. Your father is dead already.

Don’t fight over property o!!! If they want to take it by force. Leave it for them and work for your own. You can always do more with the life ahead of you.
Op, all advices are wonderful but this is the best I will advice you follow. If possible, leave all the properties to them if they want to take it. Don't shun your father's burial.
