But in practice it is not a good idea for so many reasons.

1. If there is a problem in the industry or sector, your both livelihood will be at stake.

2. You will be competing against yourselves unnecessarily.

3. If your wife becomes your boss it may not be easy especially for women who have problem

4.Then, most importantly are you marrying someone simply because your are both lawyers or

The way I looked at it is that the most important element in marriage is missing in the life of this couple. COMMUNICATION.

From the footbal perspectieves, i hope the boys can be kept together and tutour by their present coach for the next under 20/21 world cup.

Historically, U17 has always done well for the reason of the fact that they always play as a team and do not see themselves as superstars like their flying and super Eagles counterpart.

Now that they are being showered with gifts and honours I hope that they can
(and Yemi TElla as a pyscologist- I am told) can keep their feet on the ground and ensure that their heads does not swell and get too big that they forget that only result will maintain their reputation or infact cyncis will say that their victory is fluke unless they can repeat it at another level i.e the Under 21 world cup.

Yes, it is possible that this win can propel us to top 20 or even 10 in the football nations/country of the world and indirectly if we do all other things including our econmoy like the golden eaglets it may even propel us to top 20 nations economy  by  year 2020.

There are howver 3 observations I will like to make.

First, there are no direct relevance between the soccer/football and being top 20 economy of the world. Brazil is almost number 1 in football in senior, junior, under17 and even women, they are not in the 20 economy of the world. so they are not diretly related.

Infact sports- football in particular in Brazil and in other poor 3rd world countries is just to coccupy this improverised nations youths time to cover up the povety and government inadequacies.

Secondly, I am begining to suspect that Yar Adua speech writers are just using every opportuniy to say 20 top economy in the world as if by magic we will get us there.

Two things from that,  if we don't work hard 10 times as to what we are doing now we will not only be unable to get there and even if we do, we may not be able to maintain it consistently. Our history has shown that we don't have a maintance culture. We don't even have 10,000MW of electricity when we actually need minimum 50,000 now witthout reserve.

we should be careful not to build castle in the air. OBJ spend 8 years and cannot light up the country.  Shame on PDP. What about our transport network. shambles.

Third and finally, we should give credits to whom it is due. Yar Adua came to power barely 4 months ago, and before then it was OBJ, Ogun state , Lagos stae and Benue state govt that has been taking care of this guy, to now attribute the success to Yar Adua speaks volume on the type of people we Nigerians are. We do not give credit to whom it is due and only sing along with whomever is there so that we may be seeing not to sing out of line when infact singing out the tune is the thruth.

It was during Yar adua administaration that the Golden Eaglets won the cup but their preparations was many months before he came to power.

They even qualify to go the world cup before he became president, so OBJ, Daniel, Tinubu deserve more credits including the previous govt of beneue State.

Whether we have arrived or not 2009 and U21 world cup will confirm that. whether we can build upon that success, it is in the hand of God.

This is purely football in all honesty but Vision 2020 should be taken more seriously rather than just paying lip service to it.

Africa needs aid of some sort, financial and technical.

And I accept that it may be another way of looking at the solution to an endemic problem of leadership corruption in Africa is to exclude the leaders and find a way to channel funds directly to 'needy causes'.

Fair trade is another matter which is a worldwide thing between the West and Africa/Asia.

Until Our leaders start to be responsible I think the UN and other donors etc should find a way to bypass them as they are the main cause of poverty in Africa.

If they manage our resources very well and stop 'raping' their own people and their resources then we propably wouldn't be where we are today.

I hope the UN find a good formula that will allow aids and assistance to get to the ordinary people.

An example why they should find a good formula is the Multivitamin or Vitamin A or B drug that UN in association with Canadian govt sent to Nigeria for children and nursing mothers which thieves through our 'leaders' looted and start to sell at dubious chemist/pharmacies.

If any country don't want the assistance good luck as they should give the monies to others that will accept it.

First of all I am not a female, but I didn't see that it was meant for the ladies until i read the thread.  but there is equally no reason why a chap cannot contribute to what equally involve man and woman.

Few things aren't particularly clear,

1. Did you and your friend rent 1 room

2 Does your friend brother lives with you or just visit

3. why does your friend brother has to come to your bedroom assuming you and your girlfriend even share the same room.

If you own your own room in an apartment/flat/house, then what right has your friend brother has in coming into your own room, what is he looking for there, Knock or no Knock

There are so many questions, and my gut feeling is that your friend brother fancies you and he may not know how to tell/ask you or even ask her sister to tell you.

On the whole it look/sound childish to me., becasue unless he ask you or (God forbid) he force you or sex-attack you, he is just suffreing himself by seeing you when you are dressing etc.

Sit down with your friend and let her see the scenario if it were your brother that is peeping on her how would she feels.

The only person that is entiltle to see you when you are dressing or undressing is your husband/partner/boyfriend. And to be civil and polite her brother has no business coming into your bedroom even if you and his sister share one bedroom.

If there are very necessary reason for him to come into your bedoom, since he knew another person live in there apart from her own sister courtesy demands that he at least knock the door and wait for a coming in answer.

I hope you can resolve it without you loosing your friend. My instinct tells me that it was deliberate and the sister (your friend) knew about it , the guy fancy you and doesn't know how to ask you. if you like him, you can sit him down and say that is not how to go about it.
If you don't like him just tell him not ever to come into the room without knocking and waiting for a coming answer.

Alternatively, once you finish having your shower or you want to change bolt the door at the back or put something at the back of the door to stop anyone coming in.

I will say it depends on the person disposition.

If the person involve has a flair for business and industry and all that goes with it, then becoming a consultant in industry will be more rewarding financially.

But if the person concern does not have the strenght or has no money drives it may be fun to become a professor/lecturer in whatever field they have chosen and hoping to excel.

The reward is high with industry so is the risk,has it can make or break you especially if the person has young family.

Look at it this way, the time sacrifice on both is almost the same, however with industry, there will be a lot of meetings, marketing, some sales etc.

Marriage is necessary for so many reasons.

1. Biblical or even according to the Quaran if you are a muslim.

2. Marriage is the foundation of which a family is built upon, family is the foundation of which community and ultimately a nation is built upon.


The more I think about God and the bible, the more I think he is just a perfect God. He knew without marriage and all the laws that goes with it , there will be a lot of heart breakers and everybody will be chasing others wife/husband and we will become like a lesser animals that sleep around-like dogs, he goat etc.

Institution of marriage has been brought so low that a lot people have lost faith in it, thank God the majority still do believe in it.

If your find your bone of bone, flesh of flesh you will surely be on top of the world. with marriage, the 'DNA' of both husband and wife must match, and if they do, the two will become one like friends, brother and sister and father and mother.

There is man of God called Dr. Sola Fola-Alade and his wife, they are both pastors. They said that if you are going to drive, you will go to driving school, if you want to become a doctor you will go to medical schl for 7 years and to become a lawyer you will spend the next 5 years at both university and law school.

Marriage should also have a school that you learn the practical and the spiritual aspect, most people only spend a very short time to go for 'counselling' and this only happens most when there is a crises.

In my conclusion marriage is not only necessary, essential but should be the most important in life, unfortunately one of the party usually abuses it when they knew the other would do anything to make the marriage to work.

Modern day has not make marriage to stand up well as some people even now celebrate separation and divorce epecially in the west.

In any event, there is no visible thing that will support First bank coming to the market whwn they did, and that is why they are paying the price. They are simply cpying UBA or not to be outdone by UBA.

And believe me I had not bought any of the share nor I am hoping to buy ACCess Bank either but price get to some point and cannot be sustained anymore and it will start to fall.

My own view is that once it reaches some price it will start to climb up again. my instinct tells me that that price will be between N30- N33.

So anybody investing in the stockmarket should be warn, you can lose money the way you can make money.

If you do not have the tolerance don't go to the stockmarket.

I, like you and a lot of nigerians have not heared or seen any concreate proof of that 2020 vision.

My own best opinion is that we would have the police 2020 vision by year 2020 which is the upmarket version of N20 N20 bribe by the police at the checkpoint.

The amount of work required to be anywhere near one of the 20 economies of the world is so much that if we haven't start now, I as on optimist may take a pessimistic view on this one.

Transport network

Health

Education

Employment

Security- political

Social security and social services.

On a final analysis OBJ is a good man with good intention, he has handover to a cool guy, dull as he may be , he may just be able to get all the stakeholders together and push them to get result. We have to wait and see

If there are no concreate movement within the next 6-12 months, then there is a problem for that 2020 vision.

If electricity the biggest failure of OBJ is not done by 2010 at latest, that is at least 50,000MW, then 2040 may not even be on the card not to talk of 2020.

I have not done one before, but some stock gurus believe that you can have 100% in 6 months, so if you were to invest in the stockmarket by picking the right shares.

So it means that if you were to compound it , you will have N4 million in 1 year less your N1 million you will have turn N1 million into N3million.

I also heared that some shares can lose value up to 50% in a year in the Nigerian stock market or you may not even be able to sell.

So you have to weigh the Risk/Reward. You may even loose all your money in some scheme but that is the risk you may have to take if you want such a return.

Funny enough what may have cost Okonja iwela her job is not going along with his political paymaster. i don't know and I am only speculating.

To be frank the Nigerian economy is nowhere near where it should be, so CBN cannot even have partial independence let alone full independence, it is part of the tools of the govt of the day to control the economy and inflation. So CBN cannot make decisions of such magnitude without serious consultation and agreement of all the stakeholders.

Soludo will have to go at some point as an appointee of OBJ and for Yar Adua to choose his own person but he Soludo just quicken the process. But I hope Yar Adua does not listen to bad advice and fire him too soon.

He Soludo, Ribadu and Mrs. Akinyuli are the ones we consider need to be there for some another 2 years or so for continuity as they have demonstarte their ability.

If Soludo were to knee down to save his job, his carrer and reputation, in as much that as I don't like it or encourage it so be it.

Overrall he has been a good steward, he just got big to understand art of bring foes and enemies together and importantly art of consultation. Even Pastors in church are good politician. So he should have prayed and seek counselling from his pastor.
