I was told that the letter of IV thingy is bulls, basically if you know someone (not receptionist, not even officer) just hurry. the door is 99 closed. the remaining 1% is just for a select few. Not people with 10M, if you havenet got serious money just forget it. i hear crazy amounts. (For once, I am getting my news from people in the know).

This is the one. this one no be moi-moi
The IV thing is buls just to discourage people.

What do you mean by not people with 10mhuh? How much do they expect us to cough out within dayshuh?

@all

contacted my pips in UBA. the offer never even open proper. Selling my loss making nascon tomorrow and diverting fully. for Wanajo to be looking for loan for CHAMS and be so excited, there is more to CHAMS than meets my eye.
Well, the price is cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats the attraction!!!!!!

FatherOF2:
Hey kpineo,
you wan panic for Nascon go tie money for pp?.
My brother NASCON tori go change before the pp when you wan run go will even be listed, not to talk of cert.(if na paper one oh) then verification.
No panic for that stock.
No be say the pp bad,but if you wan do pp, go look for another money do pp.
Me no dey normally do pp,ipo,po,etc. But i no advice that particular action u wan contemplate.
There are PP's and there are PP's. There are PO's and there are PO's

With all the delays with NAHCO, it is worth it. In 18months people made over 1,000% Well, I am willing for that wait with such return. I have regular income so it is not as if I need that income to survive.

As per NASCON, na the HERD mentality. Some don't even know waht NASCON was doing. People bought with little or no information.

Anyway, CHAMS no even dey available so the fewer the better.

If your contacts no solid 4 inside the 4 issuing houses, forget am, don't let any broker use your money do business only to return it in 3 months time (inside info)

After CHAMS, any PP wey UBA global market be the lead issiung house, people must through me

Anyway, if u have 5M and need letter of invitation, drop me an email (I'll try and press one or two buttons)
Thanks for the info.

Actually, the offer is not closed. However they are resrving for some people to avoid oversubcription. No one will collect the application from you once the minit is reached. As time goes on, they will put a limit on it.

Got two people to speak with UBA Global markets. From the first person, got a reservation for 2m units that I am 'allotting' now. From the second one, should get 500,000 units but don't have cash to fund it. If I get cash tomorrow or Thursday, may just go for 1m units straight away. May buy though in two names (individual and corporate).

I expect that SANTRUS will still have their own unfulfilled allocation. So you can still consider that. UBA Glabal markets were just being funny.

Heard of the letter of invitation nonsense. It is just to discourage people.

Definitely, if you don't know someone in any of the issuing house (not the receptionist) don't even bother submitting the form! It will just lie on the shelf.

Wonder why this PP is like gold while others are being hawked aroundhuh

is UBa the lead issuing house for this chams deal. maybe i can use some of my contacts to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
Yes UBA Global markets are the lead arranger, pull some strings and they should still be able to collect the form.

K2:
So, in order words, that was premature ejaculation?
Won't say that. Just that the brokers are reserving it for the BIG boys.

The Oracle has spoken.

I just confirmed my own order today. Get on the phone and pull some strings. Don't let these brokers chop everything. I no go get CHAMS ke? After I showed them my nairaland ID, na quick quick them send me invitation and application form under 5 minutes grin grin grin
Can you imagine that one of them said that your application must be accompanied by an invitation letterhuh?? Same people hawking some PP's that closed ages ago. That's the difference between a juicy offer and some useless offers. See this one no need any marketing. No advertisement. No hard copy prospectus. Even staff of Chams and the issuing house never heard of it.

Well, na to launch appeal fund now as I must raise the money instanta!!!!!!!!!!! No time to be wasted here. Miss out of an offer with a forward PE of 3.71huh? God forbid bad thing. That's why I told windywendy no analysis paralysis. By the time the analysis don finish, the thing go don take off!!!

After IBTC played wayo with RedStar Express, I say never again.

BTW, if you finish from IFE, you may get special consideration as the company is more or less Made in IFE.

For those still interested, don't give up yet!!! Don't take NO for an answer and also don't take crap from anyone.

Next challenge is to raise the funds. Get to obtain short term loan at 3% interest per month by tomorrow unfailingly!!!!
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by wanaj0: 4:28pm On Jan 08, 2008
Well, will be submitting my CHAMS form this week so no shaking!!! Una too dey panic. The brokers are just trying to corner the thing to themselves. same thing IBTC did with Red Star express. Truely the thing cheap so no wonder the hoarding of the shares.

Got a committment to reserve 2m units so I am doing collector agent now!

Mr. Risky:
Guys have been wondering why I pick the name Mr. Risky.  I did for some very simple reason.  I saw that in the past, I have lost much for not daring to take risk, but suddenly I was awaken to the fact that it is even RISKY to be ALIVE.  And indeed nothing is even riskier than that.  So came the name Mr. Risky.   I am happier now that some are saying banking stocks are risky, that shows me the direction this year, that that is where I will most likely make it.

With with we all read about Dangote Flour  I had thought it will be under-subscribed, but today, the news is saying quite the opposite.  Same with Access Bank.  You will be surprised that First Inland Bank will be over-subscribed.  Who ever thought Unity bank will inch higher than N5?  Or Nahco rising beyond N22 after the PO? Rather, the much celebrated NASCON has produced many debtors!  It is this inconsistency and unpredictability that I personally LOVE about the NSE. By this time last year I would invoke spell on any one who ever dare recommend AG Leventis.  But today, the profit can take care of my children's school fees, hahahahaha
Just tread with care. In a BULLISH market, almost all stock is a GOOD BUY. But when you have the reverse, be careful.

People born in Nigeria in the late 60's will see military rule as the norm and civilian rule as an aberration based on what they are use to. Those born in 2000 upwards will see Civilian rule as the norm! Right now, BULL market is 'seen' as the norm!!!!!

As per oversubscription, many things are responsible. Key of which is institutional investors (especially foreign) trying to have a stake in Nigeria.

Fire your broker!!!!! UBA is not that scarce.

As per your Oceanic, if you bought late 2006, and you've made less than 300% then something is wrong. Late 2006, it was less than 14.00. Add the bonus that you got to it (1 for 4) and now the above 35.00 price.

I bought mid 2006 at 7.00 or so.

"
I just ran into this story today and I think of sharing it with you all especially peeps that are crazy about bank shares, I guess someone on this thread has asked this question before? How do the banks come by these profits when other sectors are not doing well?

Guys make una shine una eyes o"

sometimes I wonder what the likes of crazy T are afraid of. If NSE wants to crash let it crash. People who want to invest will invest the very next day it opens for business. One day we cry "invest in Nigeria, invest in Nigeria." Another day another cry: " wolf, wolf!"
People are investing in Nigeria for the first time from all over the world, even people who do not even remember the name of the bank they had account in before departing Nigeria. Is this the right time to drive away investors with culled articles from dubious sources that make the banking sector look like smart criminals in an unregulated sector? What do think will happen to NSE and the economy if people stop investing. What will happen to the banks if all twenty five of them cannot pull resources together to finance the building of a bridge? You will still be proud to be Nigerian , I'm sure, I will be ashamed at such morbid poverty in the midst of plenty.
Which other sectors are not doing wellhuhhuh The sectors that are not doing well are those depending on infrastructure to survive. That is not the fault of the banks but that of government.

You only need to look at the Telecoms, real estate and hospitality sectors to see that the banks are not alone. DSR already paid out N12Bn as interim dividend in 2007. How many banks can compete with that? How many companies are also as capitalised as the banks? People need to put things in perspective.

On oceanic, last year and this year are very different oh.Last year as is the practice of most nigerian banks, many expected a coming po.They buy up their shares so they can release one bar graph on this day frontpage stating" 2,000,000 % appreciation in 20days". Afribank same thing, dormant for donkey months TS lifted and before u close eye, see new price before offer started.
Even first Inland don put their graph for today paper.
This year will be a different story for oceanic.
Not that price will not grow oh.It will surely, but no matter as them try run from listing that po shares,e go catch up with their stock.People must cash in on that thing. That's when new opportunities will arise. This is just Q1 meant to psyche some people.

You don still mention FBN again.I know FBN go good.E never good reach.Remain small.
Some will certainly sell their 1 for 6 bonus and i hear some big certificates have been dished out.One more step still remain for am to good well well.Nobe say e no good now oh.But strike dey come.

I would advice many to print copies of todays loosers chart and all this week. Some pickings are re-appearing.
Fatherof2, i hear you.

Note however that the shreholding structure of Oceanic makes it very easy for them to prop up the price. secdondly, the profit growth is beautiful.

As per alst year, the price was going up even before the PO news. After the bonus adjustment, the price just hit the roof tops!!!!

As per FBN, na Long Term me dey talk OOOO. Which chart you use discover FBN nowhuh tongue

You never read psychology of the stock market.
E full NSE.
I think it is more of strategy based on personality. If you are a short term player, you can't move AGAINST the market. Hence you will naturally flow with the wind. Technical analysis moreover also tend to support this trend.

People need to make sure that tehre startegy is in tune with their personality. If you don't have patience, why buying a PO, PP etc? You cant be doing fundemantal analysis if Patience is not one of your virtue. How many people can wait till when the market will recognise the value of their chosen stock? See how long it took OandO to cross 100.00. The PO and Rights was done in 2004 or so at about 95.00!!!

do u think its ok to take profits in some of these insurance stocks.By that i mean will the fall in price continue

Whats the selling price of Chams n where can the transaction be made?
Chams is a PP. Price is N2.50

Well, you can LOCK in profits in insurance stocks.

No one can say whether the fall in price will continue or not. The market can be irrational. Who thought AP will reach the crazy heights? My srategy is to sell some to lock in profits while still positioning for opportunity should the price reach crazy heights like AP.

Orienthuh? My memory is very short? Did I really recommend it? tongue I'm changing my middle name to Chams!

As per Orient, don't even get me started. The PP is for the subsidiary. This was previously packaged by Intercontinetal and it failed woefully. I mean this is worse than TRANSCORP!!!

This initiative will have an enormous impact on our business for the next couple of years. It is a major landmark of our effort towards bringing information and communication facilities to Nigerian. A total of 1,000 Chams booths will be delivered in 2008.

Good day L & G.

Naijadr, hope you are enjoying your NGC.

Fatherof2, sure Wapco is treating you well.

For those holding Vitafoam, plan to exit now. The result will soon be out and don't expect anything fantastic. BOC may do better though.

UBA is good but like Akptogun said, there is a lot of abracadabra there. From Bello Osagie to Tony, I can't trust them.

Chams is the BEST private placement in ages. That is an offer coming out at a BIG discount. That is the next NAHCO for you. Windywendy, more sugar to your tea. Will decide between Chams and the MTN offer.

The initial buzz in the market will soon fizzle out, so bargain hunters now is the time to go on a prowl.

Chellarams should do an offer but not sure when. The BIG boys have crowded the space already.

First Bank is a stock to stock pile, Q1 2008 result will be more than FANTASTIC

FatherOF2, the problem is if you don't have liver, you may be surprised at what can happen if the rumours don't come true.

Like you know, people bought WAPCo this year at N80.00 with the expectation of a bonus. People even speculated 1 for 1. I have friends who collected huge margin facility to do this. By the time the result came out and no bonus, people were shell shocked. Most were unable to sell untill it came down to about 60.00 - 65.00. For me, that is a risk that I am not prepared to take. I don't see WAPCo declaring a bonus (it does not make sense). Going forward, they look like the best in that sector at least right now.

BOC and Vitafoam will always move in january. But volumes are normally thin.

NBC's current price already factor in the end year expected result. But for 2008, if they continue to grow profit like this, they may be the bang. May take a look at 7 UP also. It may likely ride on NBC's good fortune.

ASHAKA, nothing special from them so I will let that pass unless for the long term.

NESTLE is also one of the early results to come out. 25% is easy on that one.

For the insurance stocks i'm not looking at them too much now.
Every sector get season for NSE. Their season dey come.
Right now i'm getting set for 1st quarter 08 releases.
As you must know by now.
MOST OF THE MONEY IN NSE IS MADE IN THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR.
So i want to soak up as much juice as possible.
But one building material company is proving stubborn for me right now,its trying to defy the "END OF YEAR EFFECT".
look very well and you will see the problem with the Building Materials. Na only WAPCO get something to offer. Bonus na the only thing that can move the price well. Unfortunately, that look slim at least for now. BCC, CCNN will likely have a drop in profit so nothing really to move them. Ashaka too may face the same problem.

For WAPCo, after many people landed in clinic after speculating with it, people are a bit cautious now.

Make you just overlook that sector

You should know that BOC and Vitafoam result WILL be the first to come out. This will be followed by NBC and Ashaka. So start with those ones to get first movers advantage.

My only worry na your lack of volume(that's when you enjoy this thing).
You see the wahala now!!!! People need to know there risk profile before they jump into a particular strategy. We are different so our strategies will be different.

FatherOF2, this is one of your best post. Whyhuh Even though you talked about 25% in one week you are willing to wait for 3 months if things don't pan out well. I'm sure the 2.5m that you staked in FCMB is not up to half of your portfolio. Why? Risk analysis. Diversification.

Unfortunately, not many people understand this. They just swallow the 25% hook line and sinker. When things don't pan out well within one week, they want to commit suicide. Don't forget that some of them took margin facility for 90 days so the margin for error is limited. Some don't know that with all the FUNDAMENTAL and TECHNICAL analysis the market can be crazy in the short term!!!!

Glad that you came out to show that LEVELS are not the same and that we get LIVER pass one another. Tell your students to develop liver like you before starting to swim in the deep sea or else they will be thrown to the SHARKS!!! They also need to know the importance of VOLUME with your strategy.

Abeg when you go change the username to FatherOF3huh?
