Another high ranking Iranian commander has been killed in a drone strike in the border area between Syria and Iraq. This happened as US deploys a aircraft carrier group to the Persian gulf stating that the deployment is completely unrelated to the assassination of the scientist.


Israel and trump are desperately looking for an excuse to go to war with Iran using US military. I only hope that Iran has the patience to bear many more like this until January 20th. And as the day gets nearer, the attacks will get bolder.

The funny part is that Iran used to cooperate with Israel in certain areas years ago, howbeit secretly(read about Israel's support to Iran during the Iraq-Iran war), now Israel is desperately seeking the destruction of Iran. The Iraqi and French government had publicly stated that the programme was for peaceful purposes yet Israel, the only country with nuclear weapons in the region was not cool with it. Until the Arabs become united, they will never progress.

Egypt also had several deals with Israel during Hosni Mubarak's regime, immediately he was ousted and Muhammad Morsi who was democratically elected as president was perceived as a threat to Israel's hegemony, they plotted a coup that removed him and ultimately led to his death and that of his son. As it is right now, Israel will never allow Egypt to have a visionary leader that will listen to the voices of ordinary Egyptians because Egypt is too strong a country for Israel not to cripple politically.

At a certain point in the Afghan COIN war, US and NATO started concentrating their soldiers in large and heavily fortified military bases to reduce casualties. They did the same thing in Iraq after the assassination of General Qassem Sulaimani and the threats of attacks from several militant groups. There is nothing wrong with the super camp strategy, it prevents large towns, FOBs and weapons from falling into the hands of terrorists and also facilitates the administration of recaptured territories, it only needs to be augmented with a good mobile strike force to launch attacks into the terrorist areas of influence and keep expanding captured territories.
Imagine having mobile strike forces operating from the comfort of these supercamps to wreak havoc on BHT/ISWAP.

The local government's in red are under ISWAP's control with the exception of Mongunno. At the point of winning the war, FG lost the zeal. These local governments have heavy terrorist presence, they should be the target of heavy airstrikes and artilleries. Mongunno can be the staging ground for a crazy offensive to recover remaining territories from ISWAP. Gudzamala is like the capital of their caliphate, many of the commanders resides here, capturing this town should be the first objective with the aim of killing most of the commanders. Since many of these local governments are located on the borders with our neighbors, we should ask them to assist with the offensive, to attack from their own sides and force the terrorists to split their forces and logistics and also reduce the chances of escaping through the border to reorganize and launch counter-attacks. Magumeri is rumored to be the major logistics route for these towns, it has a large military garrison, the soldiers deployed there should work towards preventing movement of logistics in this axis to starve the terrorist in these local governments. In about six months, these war can be won with very little casualties but I think they are saving the offensive for election year to use as campaign
Because I see no reason why the airforce can't be bombarding these locations.
And it should also be noted that the population of these local governments are predominantly kanuri.

ISWAP supply route. Any Soldier serving there should never put his rifle on safety. The Absence of Soldiers for over 8 months gave ISWAP so much freedom to move along that Magumeri-Gudzamala-Kukawa Lake Chad areas.

The tucanos will increase the air force's offensive capacity and together with the life extension progammes of the other out-of-operation aircrafts, if properly utilized can greatly degrade BH/ISWAP offensive capability.
In fact I am already seeing a strategy associated with the recent procurement for the airforce.
Use drones and reconnaissance aircrafts to scout for BH/ISWAP targets, use the drones to take out high value targets, then use the other aircrafts to take out other BH/ISWAP targets.


But still, this will mean nothing without an army offensive. The airforce can only be used to soften BH/ISWAP to some extent. It will never defeat them.

It will be disastrous to change the supercamp strategy without investing heavily in troops protection and increased firepower. That should be the major thing they invest in next year, even if they have to borrow to achieve it. At least 200 MRAPs, IFVs, APCs etc.
Also, facilitating payment and delivery of the remaining MI-35 helicopters from Russia should be an issue of national emergency to increase the availability of CAS for troops on patrol/offensive. This two should be the objectives of 2021.

Like Samuel said days ago, a terrorist without his gun is just another villager. They will just lay low during the offensive only to reorganize when the offensive stops and conditions are favorable.

In all these, the police force has been extremely useless. What will cost the police to face banditry and kidnappings in the northwest and other parts of the country while the military focus on the northeast?

A sad day but might be an indication of BH/ISWAP frustrations. Attacking military formation/bases/camps is proving very difficult for them so they turn to soft targets to make impressions. I only pray that they won't start going back to suicide bombings.
And then, the dry season is here, more attacks should be anticipated. If the military, police and locals doesn't move from reactive to proactive stance, things will only get worse.
The increasing frequency of attacks from known criminal groups only serves to embolden upcoming criminals, they are like hayenas/wild dogs, when they sense weaknesses, they suddenly starts forming packs to finish the game.

As sad as this might seem, it would be advisable for locals in the the northwest to start filling the security void. They should fight back against banditry and kidnappings, it is still in it's infancy and can be curbed easily. One of the northwestern state's governor recently banned vigilante groups in the state in favor of negotiating with the criminals when he should be encouraging and supporting it.
There are several villages and settlements in the north without any military or police presence. These are easy pickings for terrorists/bandits. Even for forced recruitments. Many of the states in Northern Nigeria are too large to be governed effectively, forget ethnic sentiments and do the right thing. Government should be brought closer to the people.
Osun state has a security programme called "Harmonized vigilante group" and it is very effective, people trust them far more than the police. They run radio programmers every week where people call to report suspicious activities and crimes anonymously and also give updates on the previous week's operations. If these same model can be copied in all states and local governments, the situation will improve significantly. Many states are still playing politics with state policing, you don't need federal approval before you support, fund and organize vigilante groups to fight crimes in your state/local government.
The military can do better but to be frank they've really tried. Do we expect them to have bases in every villages and settlements across the country? Last week, there was a large operation against kidnappers in the Abuja-kaduna road axis, the moment they leave the location, these criminals or new ones return there. Establishing military bases in every settlement where there is insecurity might be catastrophic.

Are you aware "IRAN" signed a weapon deal agreement of Mass destruction with the USA government during the OBAMA'S ADMINISTRATION? The agreement was to stop the production of weapons that could cause mass destruction which made use of uranium. The deal signed was to limit uranium enrichment to 20%. 90% enriched uranium is also used for civil economic purposes. There is absolutely no evidence that this country has a nuclear weapons programme. They haven't done a single nuclear weapons test and you want us to believe they are developing nuclear bombs? Same way the west led the world to believe Iraq had weapons of mass destruction.
The fact that Iran even agreed to cap her uranium enrichment to less than 4% shows that they don't have a nuclear weapons ambition. The country stuck with the deal until trump came and decided that the deal made by all permanent members of the United Nations Security councils and the European union is not a good deal. Even after trump's withdrawal from the deal, Iran was still committed to the deal for more than 2 years until they realized that the European members of the deal are not so committed either. Now they are slowly stepping up the enrichment of uranium to increase Energy/power/electricity generating efficiency and improve Iran's economy

Iran's most senior nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh has been assassinated near the capital Tehran, the country's defence ministry has confirmed.

Fakhrizadeh died in hospital after an attack in Absard, in Damavand county.

Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, has condemned the killing "as an act of state terror".

Western intelligence agencies view Fakhrizadeh as being behind Iran's secret nuclear weapons programme.

He was reportedly described as the "father of the Iranian bomb" by diplomats.

News of the killing comes amid fresh concern about the increased amount of enriched uranium that Iran is producing. Enriched uranium is a vital component for both civil nuclear power generation and military nuclear weapons.

Fakhrizadeh's name was specifically mentioned in Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's presentation about Iran's nuclear programme in May 2018.

In a statement on Friday, Iran's defence ministry said: "Armed terrorists targeted a vehicle carrying Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of the ministry's research and innovation organisation.

He has long been spoken about by Western security sources as extremely powerful and instrumental in Iran's weapons programme.

According to secret documents obtained by Israel in 2018, he led the programme that created Iran's nuclear weapons.

"Remember that name," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said as he identified Fakhrizedeh as the head scientist in the programme.

In 2015, the New York Times compared him to J. Robert Oppenheimer, the physicist who directed the Manhattan Project that during World War Two produced the first atomic weapons.

There has been no comment from Israel on the news of the assassination.

There are no such things as the highlighted phrases. Trust me, if Iran had nuclear weapons or a program towards achieving that, they will command the same respect as North Korea and these terrorist countries will keep their hands to themselves. The word "weapons" was added to the story by western media to legitimize and justify the cowardly act.
That said, Iran's internal security is very wack and they should start improving on it. There are lots of traitors in the country that can be used for such acts. While this is advised, it shouldn't stop at that, it is a defensive mindset. These terrorists have logistics bases and locations from which they launch attacks from and retreat to. This and many more questions should be researched and a search and destroy operations should be launched. If the military has to create a special unit for this purpose, they should do it. Unless the hunter is hunted, he won't change his ways. Put fear on their minds. Let them continually be on the run. This shouldn't be limited to the Northeast alone but to every part of the country where we have security challenges. Our security officers rarely launch manhunts to neutralize criminal elements.

Since the last massive attack on Mongunno, ISWAP/BHT have largely stopped attacking bases and supercamp. They are now concentrating on isolated military units like patrols and convoys and several soldiers have been lost due to this. The Army should also adapt to the new situation as fast as possible to reduce casualties.

On November 17, a joint land and air operation targeted a bandit camp along Abuja – Kaduna Highway.

John Enenche, Defence Spokesperson, said the military neutralized several armed bandits in a joint offensive operation to clear identified bandits’ camp around Kuku area of Kagarko Local Government Area along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway axis of Kaduna State.

” The operation was executed yesterday, 17 November 2020, on the heels of credible Human Intelligence reports indicating that a cluster of huts and other structures at the location served as a hideout for a notorious bandits’ leader, named “Major”, along with his fighters,” said Enenche, a Major General.

He added that the first wave of the Air air strikes involved six Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft undertaking five missions in a total of 13 sorties.

While the second wave of attacks was executed by NAF helicopter gunships which, while continuing to engage the terrorists’ location, also provided close air support to the land component as they advanced from Kagarko via Kuku into the terrorists’ enclave.

“This paved way for the ground troops to overrun and destroy the camp without effective resistance from the bandits. A NAF Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft remained airborne providing situational awareness for the troops throughout the operation,” he said.

My own is that shey no one died in the operation? Somehow, all the bandits managed to escape or what? I don't understand why they aren't talking about casualties.

We hope the Dems don't fixate on an arms embargo on Nigeria but history always repeat itself. All those weapons you mentioned we are getting from alternative source will be useless in no distant time if the US follow true with a sanction because we will need spares, routine maintenance etc to keep them flying and Pakistan is US ally just 1 phone call from the white House to Imran Khan and everything we had with them will collapse same for European countries with the exception of eastern Europe and China but trust me the US will go to any length to see that they block any weapons deal btw Nigerian and any of US adversary. Boko Haram: Zulum approves 100 motorcycles for army’s remote operations

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on Wednesday approved the donation of 100 motorcycles for army's remote operations in Borno.

He directed the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Kaka Shehu Lawan to provide the motorcycles immediately, which soldiers use in chasing insurgents who use motorcycles to escape through remote corners in the bush and some tough terrains that vehicles do not easily access.

Zulum announced the intervention at a brief ceremony in Maiduguri which was attended by military commanding officers from operation lafiya dole, leading the fight against boko haram.

The Governor at the occassion, commissioned about 400 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) enlisted into the Nigerian Army's supper camp strategy in the fight against insurgency in Borno.

The 400 are in the first batch of the recruitment while Subsequent batches of the excercise will continue soon, it was announced.

The CJTF, a local group which emerged in 2013 to support the Nigerian security forces in the fight against Boko Haram and to protect local communities from attacks by the insurgents was formalized by the Borno State Government through a collaboration with the military, in which members were recruited, trained, kitted, deployed and paid monthly allowances to motivate them.

Zulum promised to continually support the Nigerian Military, and volunteers among them hunters, vigilantes and the CJTF, in sustained effort to attain peace and security.

The Governor noted that his administration is planning the reconstruction of more towns and villages, which he noted cannot be possible without adequate security.

Zulum renewed his call on Boko Haram insurgents who hiding in Sambisa forest and bushes in the fringes of the Lake Chad to lay down their arms and surrender.

"For those that are still in the bush, terrorizing innocent lives and destroying properties, i call upon all of them to surrender. You are killing your brothers and sisters, destroying your own infrastructures that were built using money generated through tax from your forefathers. Today we have all seen the level of devastation, nobody is been left, we are all affected in one way or another."

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum have equal launch the display of the 4th round of the most wanted terrorist by the Nigerian Army to the Public.

The Chief Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai called on the members of the public, who knows the whereabout of any of the wanted terrorist to report to the nearest security outpost.

This will improve intelligence gathering by the military as well as improving civil military relations in many parts of the state.
But the motorcycles should have been donated to the CJTF.

It's more rampant in faskari LG in Kastina state. I've been talking about this Faskari LG for a long period of time, the insecurity in that LG is something else, but you will hardly see security operatives there for a long period of time.

If not because we don't have a standard intelligence agency, are the people collecting these taxes ghost or they collect the taxes in cryprocurrency? The locals in these communities should also alert security agencies on the mode of operations of these bandits.
