I doubt cost is the issue here. US pays Israel billions every year as military aid so it makes no sense for them to shift cost to a country they give money to to buy weapons.

It is all about diplomacy, some countries get waivers while others don't. US might look the other way for some reasons if some countries do it while others might be dealt with.
The fact is that CAATSA exists to deter countries from buying weapons from Russia and some other countries and any country that trades weapons with Russia does it at the risk of being punished. Whether the country will eventually be punished or not is another discussion. But money is definitely not the problem. We can only wait to see what eventually happens.

And to be frank, Buratai isn't a bad COAS, his just put most of his attention on long-term development of the army, weapons development and maintenance, getting new platforms and capabilities that will be used for several years, filling the gaps left by administrations of the 2000s and early 2010 etc. If he can deliver the army aviation, it would really help the whole military as a whole. But all these will be meaningless if several parts of the country are controlled by criminal elements and so on. He should pull resources towards establishing peace and security in all parts of the country for a while until this is achieved and he can then continue with his objectives. If he needs more funds, he should play his politics, he has the hear of the president and other leaders more than the other service chiefs.

Honestly, until NA starts ambushing ISWAP bokoharam terrorists and chasing them to the end of wherever they choose to flee to, we won't win this war. Sadly, this administration lacks the will and determination to end the war and focus on other emerging threats. To be fair they prevented bokoharam from operating to a large extent outside of borno state but that is far from what is required, we need to instill fear into the minds of these terrorists.
The best time to contain the crisis in the northwest was before it started, it is still not too late to do that else we will be facing an economic and food crisis next year. And these criminals will keep in getting stronger while the nation grows weaker. More groups will start emerging when as they sense the weakness in national security and before you know it, all regions are battling insurgency or organized crimes. We need people who determined to destroy all enemies at the helm of affairs.

If not for porus borders, we won't be facing this bullshit and several other security challenges. The entire northern border isn't up to 1700km, if we plan to secure 200km every year, we will be done in 8 years. We start by monitoring the parts frequently used by criminal elements and target those parts first. We have the manpower for it, there are many idle people in the Nigerian Immigration services and NSCDC that can be used in addition to the army for this.

To your opinion, yes people are justified to hate the military. In lekki people don't know about Bokoharam or bandits. The only killers they know are the military. Honestly, many Nigerians do not deserve the sacrifices of our soldiers. The military is far from being perfect but many of these soldiers paid the ultimate price in exchange for our safety and they still get rubbished for doing that. If you feel it is easy to do, join the army.
I have never seen citizens of any other country do this to their servicemen.
Few years ago, terrorists operated freely in several states in the country with attacks in the capital. The whole country lived in fear of bomb attacks and several organizations invested in bom detecting devices. This people sacrificed their lives for the peace many of us currently enjoy.
The Chinese military killed Chinese citizens at tiananmen Square. Egyptian soldiers killed Egyptians in rabaa Square but you will never see citizens of this countries rubbishing their soldiers.
How much do we pay them thatis worth the lives they are risking for us ? How equipped are they for the "job" we expect them to do?
Many of us are just senseless.

One of the pictures posted by the guy working in the hospital showed wounds not consistent with gunshot injuries. Most likely machete wounds. Thought someone else would have noticed it. The picture in itself means nothing but when you post stuffs like that, it serves to discredit your claims and makes justice difficult for the true victims. I had hoped he would post other pictures before commenting on it but then.....
Please verify whatever you see online regarding this massacre before posting. You might be doing more harm than good if you don't.
