Intrepid01:That the church was started by Yoruba does not warrant that all the church assistant GOs, Regional G.Os and Senior Pastors should be yoruba. The church has grown beyond yoruba. A non Yoruba should even be in a position to lead the church, afterall Pastor Adeboye did not start the church with pa. Josiah Akindayomi when he started the church in 1952, and he was not the most qualified when he was handed over the headship of the church after pa akindayomi's death. If we follow your sentiments, then only Romans should be eligible for pope and cardinals of the catholic church. |
It was not Buhari that "naked" the economy, it was the state1999 constitution as amended. Section 80 (1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended states ; “All revenues, or other moneys raised or received by the Federation (not being revenues or other moneys payable under this Constitution or any Act of the National Assembly into any other public fund of the Federation established for a specific purpose) shall be paid into and form one Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation”; So pour all your venom at the national assembly and not Buhari for obeying the constitution. |
Jirate:How does a politician have stage fright? How did she convince people to vote for her? And how will she contribute on the floor of the state assembly? |
The General Overseer also informed the ministers that five Special Assistants, including Pastor J.T. Kalejaye (SA Evangelism) and Pastor Peter Olawale among others had been appointed.Until I see names like pastor Chukwuma, pastor Omoregbe, pastor Abba, etc. appointed as special assistants or assistant general overseers, then I would believe tribalism has not been introduced to RCCG. |
You need to see a doctor - a psychiatrist. Believe me a star would not fit into your room. It's all in your mind, a beautiful mind at that. |
winner01:Honestly you are morally and intellectually sick. Which liberating contact? You are telling us that in the rubbish you wrote above, the slave signed a contractual agreement to be a slave? Please tell us how slaves were made or created. It seems you do not even know the meaning of the word slave. I have never seen any body attempt to justify any form of slavery. I will not be surprised if you justify the enslavement of your forefathers by Christians. They must be justified because they were Christians. Please, if you do not have excuses for some biblical wrong practices, simply shut up, instead of making silly excuses. Any body that is caught today doing any of those biblical verses you quoted to his or her maid would be sent to jail. In addition; i am sure you are not aware that you are still a slave, not physical slavery but mental slavery. You worship the God of your slavemaster, you bow down before the image of your slavemaster. You speak like your slavemaster, think like your slavemaster and incapable of independent thought. |
jeniver64:You do not seem to understand the security architecture of a civilian government. It is a shame that we resort to calling in the military any time there is an internal security challenge, we even call on the military to arrest armed robbers. What then are the responsibility of the police? To mount road block and harass motorists and okada riders? The militants did not take over these locations in one day, they have been terrorists those areas for years, they have only grown border and more sophisticated. If the police were properly set up and alive to their responsibilites, the militants would have nipped in the bud before they grew to become a major menace. The main job of the military is to defend the territorial integrity of the country and not to be pursuing criminals. Of course in this case, the government had no choice but to call in the military, because the police is useless, but it will result in high civilian casualties. |
@ OP Why are you so obsessed with atheists, and equally obsessed with defining what atheism is. Why are you not satisfied with the simple definition of atheism, which is simply a lack of theism or simply put lack of belief in any God. As long as you do not believe in a god, you are an atheist - nothing more, nothing less. I for one had never really believed in a God. While i was young i passed through the motions parents take their children through, ie, got baptized, went to Sunday school, join the choir, etc, but i never really understood or even thought about what God is. That was even before i showed interest in the sciences. So as soon as i left home, i threw away all vestiges of Christianity and felt free. When i was at university of Ife, my born again classmates and I would argue till dawn about Christianity and it's imposed salvation, but later, i found out that arguments leads to no where and everyone was set in their positions. So i stopped arguing with Christians. Even here on nairaland, i avoid senseless religious arguments, i only try and corrects scientific misconceptions, lies and falsehood being propaganda by some ignorant or mischievous theists. I do not try to convert anybody, even my wife is a good born again Christian who performs all religious obligation. The only one i quarrel with is the so called night vigil. To me, i do not see the sense in a married woman staying all night in the name of special prayers, as if god does not hear prayers in daylight hours. Besides, there is no biblical basis for night vigils, it sounds more like an African traditional religious practice. So which category will you put someone like me. |
Vanquay16:I also agree with you, but try forget the birthday of your wife, i can bet that you will regret that statement. Other days you will live to regret if you forget are wedding anniversaries and valentine day. |
fr3do:It is not that the army are cowards, it is that the army should not have been brought in a purely civilian operation. The army are train to use MAXIMUM force to subdue their enemy. A paramilitary force like Mobile Police or a sort of special forces swat team is what should be used for such civil disturbance if you want to avoid high civilian casualities. |
I honestlý do not understand the reason for the wailings, the general public had never bought kerosene at N75 within the last 6 years. Under the Jonathan administration, the public price of kerosene hovered between N100 -N150, even though NNPC's official price was N50. Yaradua gave a directive to remove kerosene subsidy, which would have made the price of kerosene hover around N100, but NNPC ignored the directive and continued with the fraud of pricing kerosene at N50 while the public was buying at over N100. Jonathan continued with the perpetuation of the fraud, so much so that Jonathan was paying hundreds of billion of naira for kerosene subsidy without appropriation. If the public can actually get the Kerosene at N135/litre and is readily available, then that would be a great success for this administration. |
Daplux4:Are you insinuating that padding started with the 2016 budget? During PDP's 15 year reign, there was no budget padding, as the professional PDP government read the budget well before signing into law, and fully implemented the professional budget they signed into law. |
SamMilla1:And what is the connection between your long diatribe with the topic under discussion? Are you sure you read the heading of the topic at all? |
Ikechukwu48:Only IPOB, youths allocate tribes to others based on holding contrary opinions to their own, especially on their secession agenda, and they only allocate the tribes of their arch enemies - Hausa and Yoruba. Afrerall, Okorocha is Hausa. How many silly threads have you seen being created by Niger deltans. It is you IPOB youths that always attach SS, whenever you engage in your hate campaigns against other tribes. I only comment to educate other Nigerian that the Niger deltans do not hate any tribe. We have our own issues with Nigeria, but hating and insulting other tribes is not one of them. About the ultimatum by a small unknown Ijaw militant group for SS indigenes to relocate from the north and south west, in two weeks. That thread was too silly for me to comment. There are tens of millions of SS people including my self working and doing businesses peacefully in Lagos, SW and the north, what do you want them to come and do in the SS? Are the militants ready to house them, feed them, school their children, etc. I have not seen a sillier thread. I am sure that thread was opened by an IPOB youth. The second I read from him telling Ngozi that Lower Niger Congress is only found on Newspaper. The group does not have a website and very likely an ipob/igbo attempt to drag SS in their Biafra is the second I started doubting that wirinet claim of "ND indigienous". Freaking LNC that came out before IPOB. Has both a website as well as FB page plus the founder is iteskiri is who that clown is calling IPOB.Are you guys brain dead. I made a claim that I could not find Lower Niger Congress outside social media or newspapers, you are swearing that they have one. The most logical thing is to shame me by providing a link to their site, but instead you are ranting all over nairaland. If you do not know how to copy and paste a link, I will gladly show you. While at it, mention the name of the itsekiri that was the founder of LNC. I still stand by my suspicions - Lower Niger Congress is Biafra and Biafra is Lower Niger Congress. That is why its main promoters are IPOB. |
dragonking2:You have the right to air your views about Nigeria but you do not have the rights to impose your views about Nigeria on others. You have no right to tell everybody to go his or her own wa . You only have rights to advocate for Igbos to go their own way. If Yorubas, Hausas, Tivis, Binis, urhobos, itsekiris, langtangs, etc, decides that they want to stay in Nigeria, you have no right to question their decision or insult them. It is also arrogant of you to assume that nobody wants Fulani blood suckers, it is more approximate to say your people - the Igbos do not want Fulani blood suckers. You cannot hate Fulanis on behalf of other tribes. |
Ugomba:I also gave you a well know FACT Udu hills is higher than mount everest. Provide your statistics and i will provide mine. |
Ugomba: ![]() You igbos can turn Udi hills in Enugu into mount everest, infact udi hills is higher than mount everest. Ordinary Ondo state collect more derivation than all the south east added together and you are comparing itsekiris lands and waters which contributes close to 25% of Nigeria's total crude production. You guys are famed for reeling out outlandish claims without any basis in reality. So continue to live in your delusions. |
36xtr39r:Abeg tell me, what is my concern with igbo nationhood? It is you guys that can't mention igbo without attaching the whole of the south south or Niger delta. See parasite talking about feeding its host, it is we itsekiris ( and Ijaws) that feed your lazy ass. If oil revenues from our areas do not flow into your state for one month, you will all die of starvation. No south east state can survive one month without our oil. |
AmuDimpka:Which facts? The facts in your head? |
Ugomba:It is you that needs to shut up. You are igbo by tribe, so who is stopping you from joining your kith and kin East of the Niger. what is your business with other tribes of the south south. You are even ignorant of Niger delta politics. Niger delta republic is an Ijaw agenda as encapsulated in the Kaiama declarations. Urhobo , isoko and itsekiris have nothing to do with Niger delta republic. |
Adaure4ever:You children born just before the close of the last millennium arroganly display your immaturity and illiteracy. I respected OP when she advised her tribesmen to pursue their secession agenda and leave the south south of it, so ii am surprised she opened this thread to fight for the succession of the south south again. i ask again, why are you people so obsessed with Niger delta or south south? Watin concern you with, who is exploiting us in the Niger delta or not? Fight for your own causes and let the Niger delta fight for theirs. Believe me this your people always meddling in the affairs of others will lead to a lot of animosity. Out of 10 inciting threads on secession and resource control of the Niger delta, 9 will be opened by igbos. Now, let me give you some free fatherly education, live your life, pursue your dreams, improve your self, get married and have children, inspire your people to build a better society and stop all these hate mongering that is of no value to you or your people whom you claim to bee fighting on behalf. If war or conflict should break out, your people's suffering (and others) will be unimaginable. I am not saying you do not have the rights to advocate for secession, but you must do it intelligently and systematically, not by animosity and inciting others to join you. listen, every people do not have the rights to self determination, you can only self determinate if you have the military or political might or you have powerful backers backers, ie UN, US and it's allies, Russia or China. If you do not have these, you are on an expensive wild goose chase. The self determination clause in the UN charter is only there for decoration. Even the US (the so called bastion of democracy) forbids self determination; In 2012, a number of state petitions to allow state secession were set up using the White House's petitioning system. The petitions, which had no legal standing, were set up after President Barack Obama won reelection in the 2012 presidential election. Ultimately, six petitions crossed the threshold of 25,000 e-signatures necessary to trigger a response from an Obama administration official.Any state that declares succession in the US is a declaration of war. So many other people have been fighting for secession for decades if not centuries, a few examples are Tibet, Tamils of sri Lanka, Palestine, kurds of Iraq and turkey. |
ShegzzyGo:Please educate us on how things work. Which specific ideas did she suggest on diversification of the economy that her boss rejected. Remember, she was the coordinating minister of the economy, so the responsibility for diversifying the economy rested on her shoulders. |
bayelsaowei:Which proponent of diversification? She was finance minister of Nigeria for about 10 years for God sake, what diversification policy did she propose? She was the person who was suppose the formulate the revenue generating policies of the country but what did she do? She was granting waivers up and down, killing local industries. She even granted waivers on such mundane items like rice and vehicles. Then her other "diversification" policy is to mouth savings, without doing anything to get the federal government to save. She was more obsessed to saving the revenue due to the governors. i do not know where saving became a diversification policy. |
UIA04:I just noticed that you are a woman. I am even more shocked at your stance now knowing your gender. This 9 year old was carried in the womb of a woman like your for 9 months through pains. Now, how would you feel, if you see your own son in the state the boy was in when he was rescued? would you try and justify the barbaric torture of your child because he had the guts to steal Eba and stew? I am sure you have never experienced pregnancy, not to talk of having a baby. By the time you have your own baby, you will realize children are naturally deviants. Even children who has enough to eat is difficult enough, not to talk of ones that is deprived of food and care. it is the Job of parents to love and raise their children properly. Parenting is a difficult and demanding job and from what i am reading from you guys, not everybody deserves to be a parent. I have three children, and i know the difficulty and pains of raising children. The most difficult Age for parenting are the teen years, that is when children become the most deviant and difficult because they are transiting to adults. Nothing justify chaining a 9 year child like an animal. Beating and chaining a child would not guarantee the child would grow up a responsible adult. In fact research has shown capital punishments and beatings do not have positive effects on the character of a child, love, care and understanding is a far more effect means of raising a child. In other countries, ordinary flogging your children will send you to jail. |
Tellemall:Is'nt the bolded statement a contradiction? Prior to eating the fruit, adam and Eve was just in obedience to every instruction from God. That means they were merely robots before eating the fruit. What you are saying is that the only Freewill God granted them is to choose between eating the fruit or not, other than that, they were incapable of disobeying God. To me the only error Adam and Eve made was eating the Fruit of the tree of Knowledge first, if they had eating the fruit from the tree of life, they would have been immortal. That means God would not have the power to threaten them anymore, they could then go and eat from the fruit of the tree of Knowledge without God being in a position to do anything. |
Some people have their brains and morals inverted. I am certain that these same people demonizing this helpless 9 year old for having the guts to steal EBA and stew are the same people eulogizing Dasuki, fayose, saraki, etc, for stealing billions of dollars. One even suggests the 9 year old should beg instead of stealing. In sane countries, stealing and begging by minors carry the same consequence, loss of parental rights to the child. The parents might even be prosecuted for allowing their children to beg on the streets. This same person will come here and condemned northerners for producing almajiri children. |
UIA04:And you believe the step mom? The step Mon care so much about the welfare of the boy, but permited the father to chain him like an animal and stopped feeding him after was chained. So you are more afraid of the shame a deprived stealing child would bring than the welfare and life of the child. Maybe he should have just killed the 9 year old instead of passing the child through such torture. Seeing the positions of UIA04 and Davodguy makes one seriously question the damage Christianity does to ones empathy and morals. |
See this slowpoke. So cos one is hungry, he has to go stealing abi? What happened to begging? Isnt begging better than stealing? OMG what kind of slowpoke is this one? I meet kids who seldom beg for money in the name of hunger and i gladly give them help. So, stealing is not the cure for hunger you mentalo. So in you own idea of morality. It is more moral for a 9 year old to beg for food than to steal food, even when the food is in his father's kitchen? Have you read George Orwell's Oliver Twist. Even in 19th century England, brutalizing a child for stealing food was not acceptable. Children caught on the streets were taken to orphanages to be fed. |
davodyguy:I do not believe a human being with blood flowing in his vein wrote the above nonsense, and someone like Mr. Olaadegbu and kingebuka would come here and say Christianity is the basis for morality. Take a look at the picture of the 9 year old and re-read what you wrote. You are comparing the 9 year old with Anini and boko haram because he was bold enough to steal Eba and stew. People like you should be castrated and never allowed to have children. In all sane societies, children are protected and not held responsible for their actions, it is their parents that are held responsible for raising their children. This who are incapable of taking responsibility should not have children. |
Good gesture by Fayose, but when will he distribute salaries to civil servants, we were told salaries had not been distributed for six months now. What about roads and health services, these need to be distributed in ekiti too. in fact governance need to be distributed in ekiti. Now, about this stomach infrastructure, how are the yams distributed? Is every Ekiti indigene entitled to one tuber of yam or it is only for PDP members? How do people qualify to received the yams, is it by lottery. How many yams are budgeted for distribution? Is yam the only element of this stomach infrastructure program? What of ingredients to cook the yams? What of kerosene to cook the yam ( which may actually be more expensive than the yam itself). The people cannot eat raw yam. |
Ngozi123:Arguing with you people is like arguing with a prerecorded message. Arguing with a person under hypnosis is better. I told you your fabled Niger Delta Congress does not exist outside social media and newspapers, instead of you to provide me with a physical contact orj at least their website, you are here fuming and claiming Niger delta congress is the most"prominent" Niger delta group asking for referendum. Maybe they are prominent in Aba or Onitsha, but in warri, Benin, yenagoa, portharcourt and other prominent south south cities, no one has seen or heard of them. Since you are a member for this "prominent" group, do us a favour and link us to their website. I am interested to know when and how this group was formed, who are the leaders and their membership base, their aims and objectives and their offices around the federation and abroad. While at it, list other less " prominent' groups of the South South that asks for a referendum to secede from nigeria with the Igbos. |
Ngozi123:Where are the several groups demanding referendum? So lower Niger congress has become several groups? I looked up Lower Niger congress and there is very little information, no website, no contact address, nothing. It seem it was coined by a few Biafrans in their rooms. The Lower Delta congress is the same as Biafra. It is certainly an Idea by Biafrans to co-opt the south south into their secession agenda, as most south south people hate the name biafra. one or two names of inconsequential Niger deltan are added to give an illusion of legitimacy and then claim New lower Niger congress comprises all states and tribes of the south south. This is what i call desperation at its peak. You make it look that you guys are terrified of fighting for your secession alone. You should also apologize for disregarding thousands of Nigerian soldiers from the south south and also a few from the south east who paid the ultimate price fighting for their country. You are definitely disrespecting the the families of these soldiers. |
