Now, lets me do a hypothetical calculation using oil benchmark price of $100/barrel and a production level of 2.2million barrels/day and a production price of $25/barrel

Price of crude - $100/barrel
Earnings to Nigeria - 60% x100 - 25 = $45
Total earning/day = $45 x 2,200,000 = $99,000,000
Total earnings/year = 99,000,000 x 365 = $36,135,000,000
This is 36 billion US dollars.
If we spend 22 billion of those dollars to import fuel, it means we run the country (FG, States and LG) with the remaining $14 billion. (non oil earning not included)

If we carry out similar calculations using the current average oil price of $40, we would not have $22billion to import fuel not to talk of dollars for other imports or money to run the country.

Please correct me where i am wrong.

If $35 billion was spent on subsidy in 5 years, how much money was spent on actually importing the fuel? It cannot be less than $200 billion. Now how much did Nigeria earn as a whole in dollars in those 5 years? This statement means that all our foreign earning in 5 years was used to import fuel.

Under the TSA, nothing stops the government from lending money to the productive sectors through the CBN in association with the banks. The government should be encouraged to spend in critical infrastructures, like power, rail, roads, etc, these are what will stimulate the economy out of recession, not leaving money in hundreds of accounts in commercial banks that cannot be monitored.

From my teens to my 30's I also read lots of spiritual books based on eastern philosophies and religions. I bought, read and digested all Lobsang Rampa's seventeen ( or is it eighteen) books. I even read the one he said was written by his cat. I read 2 of Carlos castaneda's books. I practiced astral travelling, meditations, aura reading, psychometry, etc. These " spiritual" activities took so much of my time and energies that my academics began to suffer.
At the end of the day, I achieved what the easterners would call "enlightenment" by asking just one question;
What is the purpose of all these?
I then came to the realization that the purpose of life first of all is survival, then survive to add your energy ( maybe genes, ideas, organic materials, etc) back into the universe, for the universe to continue on its evolutionary journey. I then refocused my life to graduating with good grades, getting a job or starting a business, finding a beautiful woman with whom I can pass my genes, providing for and raising my children with good values that will ensure their survival and helping others as much as I can. I believe I am doing a good job of those goals.

I later learnt that all those spiritual gurus were fake, just like past religious masters. Even thought I now know that losang Rampa was fake, his philosophies still shaped my life.

Same for that bird, the patents had sex and it resulted in an egg, which went on to hatch and grow into another bird, where do you fit in your God in this. The seas were formed when hydrogen and oxygen combined to form water in the early earth, and the resulting water fell to the earth to fill crevices on the earth's surface. Any sane person will be 100% certain that snakes are incapable of human speech, not to talk of speaking and understanding Hebrew. Any one with senses more developed than a 7 year old should be 100% sure than a man cannot live and survive in the stomach of a whale for 3 days.

If you make a claim, the onus is on you to provide evidences supporting your claims, then the onus will lie on us to prove your evidences valid or false. You cannot just make an outlandish claim and expect others to help you prove the claim true or false.
If I tell you Santa Claus lives 10km under the north pole, the onus is on you to provide evidence. I cannot tell you that unless you can prove it false, I must accept it as true.

The term God has different concept by different people.
To the Jews their God is a Yahweh who helps the war and defeats their enemies but must obey his laws and covenants. He is said to be highly temperamental and unpredictable. He is said to create the heavens and earth.
The Christian God is a confused mish mash of concepts, he is a mosaic of the Jewish God Yahweh, the Greek God Zeus and the Persian God Mithra.

Your brother reminds me of myself at that age. The whole concept of Jesus blood being required for salvation of souls did not make sense to me, so also a God that watches our every move, speech and thoughts. Desert winds do not blow uniformly, they change direction and intensity randomly and sand dunes follow the direction and patterns of the wind randomly.
Of cause the wind is the cause of the patterns on the sand dunes, and temperature differentials on earth surface and atmosphere is the cause of the wind, and the Sun's energy is the cause of the temperature differentials on the earth, we can go on and on until we can regress no further, but to insist the ultimate cause of the beautiful patterns on a sand dune was designed and drawn by a powerful being as an art work to amuse himself is preposterous.
