JIMMY1393:They all see "us" as trash not because of foreign news but because of comments like yours. An average American spends more time on the internet than they spend listening to foreign news. Nigeria is whatever y'all present the country to be and so far, you've been doing a nice job selling it as a pieces of shit. I can't even have a decent discussion in North America without friends asking me questions I can't relate with. Not saying you're wrong for filling the internet with terrible tales about your country but I just needed to put it out there that the foreign news outlets here aren't as preoccupied with Nigerian news as your comment suggests. |
Ikennamurphy:Thanks sir! |
Eagba:Lol... I read this three times and still didn't know how to react to it. This kind of sincere comments are rare onhere. |
bodee:Lol... OK, that's way too exaggerated but thanks! |
Gerrard59:Her argument was weak, fallacious and full of sentiments. It was just an emotionally charged outburst that lacks any logical backing. Nigeria has the highest number of poor people, how does this fact affect arguments relating to Trump's leadership style? What's the correlation? His nationality forbids him from having an opinion? Do we now go around putting on that tag and feeling less than everyone else? Or is it because he is an Uber driver? Nationality doesn't stop her people from assimilating the best of our talents but should stop this man from contributing to political discussions? I really don't her the logic behind that reasoning. |
Midadeola:Really? Well thanks... but did you read my signature? I always get "scared" each time someone follows me cause I'm almost certain they'd be shocked by my idiosyncratic views. Lol. |
I don't what led to her outburst but going by this video, I honestly do not get her logic. That's someone isn't orginally American does not mean he shouldn't have an opinion about the politics of his host country. That someone is from a poorly led country doesn't mean he shouldn't have a take on the politics of the country where he currently resides. The only difference between her and the man is the American passport. And Trump's leadership style impacts both foreigners and citizens alike so asking him to keep mute cause he's an immigrant is rather unbecoming. It's not as if he was complaining about or criticizing the US. Her response to Trump's criticism (assuming the guy actually did just that) is the the kind you'd expect from someone who doesn't have any logical defense against the point brought forward. Otherwise, why would she leave the debate to attack the debater and his home country? This foreigner could be a citizen tomorrow and when that happens, what argument would she have in Trump's defense? |
Well, regarding the pandemic, I'd say it is more of an opinionated advice than a prophesy. The number of cases has recently started going up again. It is no news that many countries are beginning to entertain the fear of a second wave. |
Adalyon:Oh... I honestly didn't know. No wonder. Lol |
StagethemTVee:Background? So the title is also a background? Pray tell, do you title your contents based on background details? Calling the dialogue the OP shared the "background" suggests that what the video shows is the actual content of this thread. And if that's the case, why does the title emphasize on the idea that Laycon insisted to speak more about SARS (the background info according to you) instead of emphasizing on the actual content which is Laycon's take on SARS (as contained by the video)? Dude, it is clear that the OP's title and write-up do not agree with the video shared, you don't have to twist it. Nobody clicks on a thread to watch the aftermath of the subject matter. The fact that we are both guessing whether the OP's story came before or after the video reflects poorly on his content and presentation. Going by the title, this thread was created based on how Laycon reacted when the interviewer attempted to move on to other topics. For all we know, the OP could have cooked up that dialogue himself. The video was meant to show us where this happened but instead, it went on to show where the guy shared his view on SARS and thereby causing a disjoint between the title and the content. If the OP was bent sharing Laycon's take on SARS, he could have titled his thread more appropriately (this would have made it easier for you to sell the dialogue as just a background). While Laycon's submission was smart, many people clicked on the thread based on the title. They came too see how he insisted on talking about SARS instead of promoting himself and what did they get? OP's baseless written narrative and a video that shows something else. If you don't see any problem with this, I don't know what else to say to you. I only pray the OP doesn't find it as difficult to deal with feedbacks as you do. |
jesusjnr2020:I think these things should not even come up in religous discussions since they dont have anything to do with the message of salvation. Birthday is like other anniversaries and shouldn't be discarded cause one wants to go to heaven. Maybe the disciples wouldn't have had time for it but let those who have time for it enjoy it. The disciples didn't have time to go to the gym too, they also didn't study math or play football. Are we going to deny ourselves all these cause of how they lived thier lives in their own time and culture? Let's stop making it look as if Christianity is all about suffering. #MyOpinion |
softset:Why are you comparing SARS with undercover cops in the US? Do undercover cops put their guns on display? These guys are clearly not undercover cops. If they want to go undercover, let them do so but wearing SARS jackets and carrying guns around is anything but undercover. There's no justification for thier dressing. It's undignified and embarrassing. |
SARS should be reformed. Let them return to the initial purpose and stop doing harassing people. |
Lol... can we calm down a bit? It was only get-well-soon message to a colleague and there's nothing wrong with it. You don't wait till your country is perfect before wishing a colleague well. It's not like he was proposing to foot his hospital bills. Wizkid could do a music criticizing the poor leadership in Nigeria if he's up for it. Insulting the Buhari for breathing isn't the way to go about it. If anything, it even undermines the efforts of serious critics. |
chillychill:Yes, I don't live in Nigeria. But let's be logical. They stopped the police from stopping and searching people a long time ago (I didn't hear of this) and that wasn't implemented. You complained afterwards and nothing was done about it. That's sad. Now they have placed some restrictions on SARS. You're complaining in advance that it will not be implemented? If you are not willing to wait and see if it will be audio or not, why ask for it in the first place? What exactly were you clamoring for if you had already made up your mind that nothing good could ever come out of the government? Criticizing the government is good but it's only productive when done logically. Illogical/sentimental criticisms based on assumptions make it difficult for anyone to know when a step is made in the right direction. |
chillychill:It is only audio if it is not actioned, right? The ban has just been issued. It's left for you to see if it will be implemented or just audio. You've been asking for this and now it's here, you still find reasons to keep complaining. Why not wait and see if it's just audio first? |
XXMML33:Maybe she just wants to have sex with you with no strings attached. And that wouldn't mean she does not know what she wants cause we don't say that when we guys just want sex without strings attached (just saying...). If that's the case, I'd say you should reassess your position on the proposal and see if you're down for it. And if you're not, you move on. Life shouldn't be this complex. From another perspective, the girl just had a breakup and she might just be telling you she is not in the emotional state of mind to get into another relationship as she needs some space to heal. Someone who hasn't fully gotten over a past relationship can hardly do well in a new one. Such a person would always be on their guard at all time. They would be unnecessarily defensive or suspicious of everything. She knows herself better so if she says she needs space, she needs space. Again, it's up to you to decide if you want to completely cut out or not. I don't think there's any right or wrong line of action here. It is easy for us to say someone doesn't know what they want when we are not in their position. For all we know, she might be thinking you're the one being inconsiderate for wanting her to jump into another relationship the moment she ended the last. I mean, when a lady does that, people still come online to shout "women!". |
First, the video shared does not contain anything the OP said. Maybe the part described by the OP came afterwards but it's actually very ridiculous how most Nigerian content developers don't take time to review what they are selling to people. You want to get subscribers and make it big via content development and yet you won't put in the the little effort required to come up with a presentable content. It's almost as if most of y'all just want to make it without putting in any effort. Your work only gives you output when you take it seriously, guys. Back to the topic, like I said, the part the OP described must have come after Laycon's long and detailed response to the initial SARS question. He repeated himself a few times in the response so it only makes sense for the interviewer to want to talk about other things so the session wouldn't get boring especially if the interview wasn't primarily about SARS. While the SARS topic is important, the anchore had the task of ensuring the session wasn't derailed from the focus. He had his consumers to worry about and another SARS story isn't all they'd be expecting from an interview with Laycon. I'd have liked to see the "a lot" he still had to say anyway. He seems smart. Nice one. |
ITbomb:OP, this post is loaded. It has all the mature responses you ask for. Good luck ma. |
ozome15: Karlovich: cruxgemmata: chillychill: SLAP44: Brandstudio01:Hahah... Nigerians are insatiable. |
Well, if they weren't super rich before the show, it makes sense that they'd still be looking for job after the show. Not everyone gets ambassadorial contracts after BBN and the organizers never promised to place anyone on a payroll. The problem isn't that they are looking for what to do to earn a living, the problem is the people who make a big deal out of it. |
Workhardenough:Lol... Everything must lead to bashing Nigeria. All these capital stuff are based on figures and it's not totally of place for Nigeria to appear in most of the lists seeing that it's one of the world's most populated countries. |
Hambivert:Interesting. But why not work with facts only? I'm not a fan of PMB but I think all we had regarding his third term ambition was heresay. Meanwhile, is "sparogatively" a word? |
ReactJS in TV/Movies section ? |
Poor girl We are always looking for a group we don't belong to to blame. See men on this thread blaming his state, his tribe or his religion. If it were a crime perpetuated by a lady, they'd all start calling out the gender "fear women", "that gender is terrible", "fear who no fear women", "women are their own problem", "women of nowadays", etc.. Until we all learn to call out men with the same energy we we use in calling out women, this kind of issues will continue to eat deep into our society. This idea of allowing boys get away with anything cause "boys will always be boys" only puts your daughters and sisters in danger. |
OP, why would anyone starte a write-up the way you started this? If you want to copy and paste, why not do it a bit more mindfully? It wouldn't cost you anything to read and arrange what you're putting out for others to consume... |
Explorers:Nice one. Though for a family of four, this may not still be enough if only the man is working. |
The fear of men is the beginning of wisdom! |
kingxsamz:No, bro. Americans aren't really saying this. I engage a lot in political discussions and not even for once have I heard it. He was not the only one that got infected, many others who work closely with him also did. Those who refer to it as a hoax are mostly being sarcastic cause Trump reportedly called covid-19 a hoax in March. A couple of Twitter comments doesn't tell Americans are saying. You can't even be sure those comments are from Americans. |
bosunjohns:Take a closer look, I shared two pics there. I was referring to the NL screenshot when I said 'second picture'. |
