Kriss216:Hahaha... not primarily because of Buhari, I just don't discuss Nigerian politics with my non Nigerian friends here. The whole thing is embarrassing. |
ecolime:It's becoming too much. Seems they are increasing in number |
VickyRotex:Good Morning Supreme Leader, Thinking about it, what automated approach can they possibly take? |
Seniorwriter:You are absolutely right. I will be more meticulous next time. Thanks. |
Skinnienigga:I see. Thanks for taking your time to respond! |
Congrats to the guy. Is it safe to say that the seemingly poorest housemates will always win the show since they easily get people's sympathy? Recall that according to professor's "Operation Cameroon", once you have people's sympathy, they'd begin to like you and when people really like you, you can do no wrong in their eyes. Seeing that people (voters) determine the winner in this show, could Laycon's case be as a result of "Operation Cameroon" or was he really exceptional in the house or was it grace as they say? Meanwhile, Seun and the rest of Nairaland team, what are you guys going to do about these Chinese bots that create new accounts with funny names every night aiming to change the narrative about the corona pandemic? I noticed the mods are trying by deleting each new thread from them but it's obvious they (the bots) are relentless. Is there no other way? I fear they might crash the app if care is not taken. I'm just a concerned forum member. You can read more about them here: https://www.nairaland.com/6075415/strange-accounts-appearing-nairaland-every |
RuddyFusion:So you really think shaming her for not having a husband is such a great thing? Lol. Africans, y'all are funny over there. |
Beauty, they say, is expensive. That's why you'd see some throwback pictures and be wondering if the person was recreated. To those saying she tried to bleach; so she didn't bleach all the while she was up-coming and even when she had the spotlight, it's now she'd wake up and realize being light skinned is better? Well, I doubt she'd do that seeing how people have praised her "brown beauty". Anyway, she'll be fine. Let her see a dermatologist if the patches don't vanish on their own after stopping the cream. She shouldn't try self medication though. Polchiz:A feminist sees men as an enemy? Now, I'm beginning to understand why you guys in Africa don't like the word "feminist". So if feminism is enmity with men, what then is misandry? |
Acehart:Heartwarming response ![]() You might want to take out time to educate your friend above on how to engage people with decorum. His/her responses don't make room for non fallacious conversations. |
MuttleyLaff:I was actually hoping for a healthy Christian conversation but your response is full of sarcasms that suggest you are only gearing up for a fight and not a chat. I'm sorry for commenting on y'all's thread. Let me go with my underused brain. Have fun! |
MuttleyLaff:There are some questions to which we do know the answer. But there are other questions to which the best answer we can give is, ‘I don’t know.’ ‘The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us’ (Deuteronomy 29:29a). The culture, positions and power hierarchies of heaven do not necessarily affect the message of salvation and it's better we accept we don't understand the dynamics than to come up with theories just to support out opinions. Such opinionated teachings only bring more division and misunderstanding. Why not concentrate on the message of love which is simple, complete and straightforward? |
Acehart:These countries are occupied by men. People go there and come back everyday. It's just another place like wherever you are. Comparing that with people claiming to know about the cultures and hierarchies of heaven is a bit unsettling. |
It's actually funny when humans tell tales of heavenly culture, positions and hierarchies like it's one town in Ogun state. Y'all mustn't have answers to everything. It's ok not to know. |
While this is amazing, it's not really a surprise and she's not the first. People are asked to do things that engage the brain while being operated on so a malfunctioning could quickly be detected. |
bukatyne:It wasn't really a displeasure. She said she was curious as regards what motivated Hillary to go by that description and Hillary clarified that it wasn't political but a personal preference. Ms Adiche is proudly married and if you follow her interviews, you'd know she appreciates her family and marriage. Being a feminist is about women empowerment and gender equality, and shouldn't stop anyone from being happily married. Just saying... |
InvertedHammer:Did she tell anyone not to get married? Does being a feminist imply one isn't interested in marriage? |
I like the fact that the kids speak their language while living out here. Wish I could... |
Lol... congrats to him. The seemingly poorest ones will always win. They get people's sympathy and once people like you, everything you do becomes cool in thier eyes. Money Heist Professor called 'Operation Cameroon'. |
Fortunately or unfortunately, I never went through the OP's path so I'm not qualified to advise him. However, I want to let everyone reading this to know that I admire the OP and I wish him greatness beyond his expectations. Sincere hustlers, please, throw in some words. Our kid brother is already on his path to greatness! |
SeriouslySense:By holding men as accountable as we hold women. We spend the whole time telling women how to dress and how to be so that society will accept them. We shame those who do not conform and call them olosho. Meanwhile, men get away with everything including sleeping around and all sort of things. When a man sleeps around, he is a "sharp guy". When a woman does, she gets a truckload of insults. This starts from a young age and we grow up to believe the society will always accommodate whatever we do in our quest for sexual pleasure cause "men will always be men" and some take that too far thus causing these issues. |
Matrimonous:Even men who get attracted to women do worse on front page everyday. This is not about his sexuality, the man is sick. |
oyatz:I will answer in two folds. First to clarify my analogy and second to work with your perspective. To clarify my analogy, I was not talking about the colonial masters. America wasn't empty before they came. Europeans where visitors just like they were in Africa. I also was not talking about the immigrants. I was talking about the aboriginal Americans and that's the closest analogy to Africa. The US and Canada had many indigenous groups (though classified into three major ethnic groups) before the coming of Europeans. Though these ethnicities were mostly red Indians, they were of different tribes/culture. This is similar to Africans being blacks but with different tribes/cultures thus my analogy. When Europeans came and made nations out of them (without considering ties), the nations then had these ethnic groups plus English and French people and there were issues (some of which still exist in Canada) but today, the government has institutionalized some policies that ensure these aborigines get equitable treatment while the English and French people each rule themselves however they want. Now working with your perspective (i.e. starting from the advent of white Europeans), the Western European settlers in Canada where partly from France and partly from England. The European culture is as diverse as the African culture. Saying "... Europeans who had many things in common..." would be seeing the continent just the way they see us "blacks with no difference". France and England were two nations that had different cultures, different languages, etc. After colonization, Canada was mostly made up of these French and English people and they had just exactly the same issues Africa is having now where the French side claimed they were being maltreated. Though they've had two referendums in recent years, the issue has mostly been subdued by the fact that the french regions like Quebec and New Brunswick are almost completely autonomous. They have different tax systems, different immigration policies, different flags (like each province does), etc. thereby bringing the possibility of misunderstanding to the minimal. |
Joemetry:First, it wasn't about you disagreeing. I'd already figured you disagreed but I needed to point out that I never stated the western world has the monopoly of splitting. I, in fact, said the opposite. That bit, you clearly misunderstood. Now, regarding people having the right to break away; theoretically, they very much do have the right if the residents agree (a referendum is, therefore, needed to ensure it is not just a few prominent ones trying to have their way). And I only said theoretically cause if the government let's every group of people that walks into the government house seeking to break away have their way, the country would shatter before their own eyes because there will always be such a group of people given the system of government practiced there in Africa. This is why breaking away is always the last resort. However, my post wasn't even challenging the right of the people to break away. If you had a minute to read it again, you'd see I was rather challenging the decision itself. Having the right is one thing, being the best decision or the way forward is another thing entirely. The government refusing to give them a referendum is wrong but that wasn't the crux of my post. I only compared the option of breaking away with other available options before the troubled African regions and I said that until a system of government that allows each region to be autonomous is put in place, there will always be some people wanting to break away at every point in time. And how long do you want to keep splitting? There's power in solidarity and the more a region splits, the more voiceless and insignificant the region becomes at the global stage. On the other hand, having autonomous regions ensures you have one big nation with a loud voice and still enjoy the autonomy of an independent nation. The European union was formed to create this loud voice despite the countries being culturally unrelated. This decentralized system of government has been tested and trusted in many places ahead of Africa so I guess it's safe to say Africans have, for the first time, a little advantage in being backwards cause they can see and emulate what worked for others. I live in the Americas and I can tell you without mincing words that the unity of some of these nations depend strictly on this system. Good morning. |
justwise:Going by your own words, it's obvious OP didn't create this thread just cause of the ban. He just wants you to say you've forgiven him. Small things like that matter to one's peace of mind. It won't cost you anything to offer him that and move on. Just my take. |
Dreadful:I stopped after reading your first sentence. You are not the type to engage in a civilised conversation. Enjoy yourself, bro. |
Joemetry: "Why do you think splitting isn't necessary and Africa thing and who told you that the Europeans own the monopoly of splitting and forming new states when coexistence isn't achievable after decades of forced union?"Your statement above simply shows you didn't understand my submission. I said splitting is not necessarily an African thing. And I mentioned other places it has taken place. That should tell that I was saying it could happen anywhere and not just in Africa. So you coming to ask who told me Europeans have the monopoly of it is bizarre cause I never slightly suggested they do. My comment was a response to someone who said it was cause of the amalgamation done by the western world in Africa. You don't have to use exclamation marks while stating your point. |
biggy26:Thanks... I shouldn't let non standard English creep in when I'm typing on a foreign forum. ![]() |
Stephenmoka4:Maybe it is. I can't remember much about the app. Yeah, the mod wasn't having it. Lol |
Stephenmoka4:Bro, the last time I visited Africa, there was a forum called 2go then. The mods banned me FOR LIFE. I'm 100% sure that if you sent that kinda stuff to the admin of any forum, you'd be booted out. |
SenecaTheYonger:Did you see the chats? OP deactivated his account so I can't see the actual conversation. If you can, please, drop a link. If you don't have it, I wonder how you got to know the two were at fault. Lol. Meanwhile, the original ban wasn't that long. The lengthy ban only came as a result of the OP's mail to the mod. |
