The banks are not serious. As far back as last week some of them have refused to open their doors to customers for transactions.

I was at a FirstBank branch yesterday,but they said they are not opened. I went this morning, the same story. I just wanted to pay a cheque into my account to access money. No way

Please, have the banks been opening in your area? Many banks (Lagos &Ogun) have refused to open their gates for people to go in for any transaction whatsoever for about 2 weeks now and there is supposed to be a so-called deadline.

With the debts NIGERIA has been plunged into, many (corrupt) individuals (NIGERIANS) have definitely become richer than Nigeria.

They should just release money to Nigerians. It's not funny paying ₦1000 as POS charge to collect ₦5000. Something that used to be ₦100.

At least, i know someone who knows him closely. The list is endless . If you feel you're comfortable wherever you are, it's fine. Everyone can't come back home. But Nigeria is a fertile land cos I can attest to this. That's my point. Before I came, Indians were dominating our sector. The moment I came, we had a reasonable share of the market. These people would come to Nigeria with one shirt and a pair of trousers but in a few years, they've become multi millionaires in dollars, same as Chinese. Look everywhere, our people are nowhere to be found and this is worrisome.

In the course of seeking assistance on campus, I asked a few students about the process to be taken for deferment of admission. I was told to visit the Student Affairs Division and my request would be granted. On getting to their office, the officer in charge advised me to talk to the school’s psychologists at the Youth Friendly Centre (YFC) of the school.

That same day, I headed for the centre. On getting there, I met a very beautiful psychologist who I believed should be in her late forties. She was very friendly and made me so comfortable. Then she asked about the purpose of my visit. I narrated everything and ended it by informing her that I would be deferring my admission. She then looked into my eyes and told me I was going nowhere, as I was there to complete my program. After the session, she gave me food, money to pay for GES and pocket money to feed. She then called her friend that worked at the student work-study office and connected us. This was how I got a part-time job on campus.

Within the same week, our fellowship announced that there was a need-based scholarship that gives a stipend of about ten thousand (#10,000) to deserving students. I applied and got the stipend the same week. This enabled me to pay for my departmental and faculty dues. By this time, some of the electives that I wanted to borrow from sister departments within our faculty were no longer accepting students. Hence, I had to complete my electives outside of the faculty.

INEC should just convert this election to a referendum based on these 3 points:

1) Do you want Nigeria to be restructured to the 1960s system?

2) Do you subscribe to six (6) politically independent zones/nations?

3) Do you agree that a weak centre -presidency - or we have a Prime Minister - and six (6) strong units/zones be instituted?

This will reduce the fixation on becoming president just to have access to the wealth of the nation to satisfy ethnic, religious, primordial and selfish interests of one individual and his circle.

Sadly, CBN Governor is the only one talking and passing out accusations/blames but out of fear of victimisation, commercial banks cannot talk/reply him.

True. Most Nigerian bosses are evil. I am a teacher too and I have a lot of evil things to say about my boss. That's if I choose to ignore all the positives he's had in my life. This is an experience that probably goes the opposite direction of yours.

I started as a lowly graduate teacher of a subject in a private school; but my thirst for self development meant my other skills in tech and guidance/counselling were offered for free to the school and students.

Didn't take long for the students to take to me and I took to them. Soon, I began to have more audience with the boss and took over everything tech-related in the school (website checks, electrical faults, DIYs tutorials, name it) and still teaching.

In addition, my knowledge of vast subject and willingness to read made me a buffer for many subjects. If the teacher is unavailable and I'm free, I'd cover for the subject. A number of staff then said it's eye service but I don't really care. I was doing what I love for a not-so-good pay. Soon, I became the V.P.(Acad) the year before COVID. and you could say it was a good achievement.

During COVID, school shut down for 6 months, my boss paid me salary all through, not 100% salary but better than nothing. The next year, my boss accepted my plea for an increment due to the rising costs and jacked up my current salary then by 50%, making me the highest paid in the school. I forgot to mention that the gifts in cash and kind I get from my boss could be worth up to my three-month salary per year in terms of value. He moved on to pay all the expenses for me to partake in a state-wide competition which I emerged first-runner up, putting the LGA on state map and the school too.

The presence of these achievements in my CV positioned me to land a remote opportunity whose pay dwarfs what I earn at the school by almost 400% in terms of value. My boss agreed to allow me spend only half the normal school time after which I leave to begin the remote task. Note that he didn't reduce my salary; neither did any of the benefits I get cut down.

The first 3 alerts I got this year were from former students I taught; who for one random reason or the other, thought of reaching out. One of my female students who graduated in 2019 has my account sitting in her DM now as per her request yesterday. Not to mention the many ways, many of them used their capacity to help me here and there (even to recommend/purchase quality electronic gadgets or jump those humongous queues at MTN Office ). My birthday is tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I actually planned to celebrate my birthday. January tough. But not these students/former students. Every year for the past 5 years, they always turn up with plans.

I am Igbo, and we're quite few in my organization, my boss is Yoruba. I could have all sorts of petty things to say about him. I'm sure many of my colleagues will have a lot lot more to say about him. But in the things that matter, he has been a catapult to the very high grounds I find myself today and that is all that really matters to me (not petty things and not other people's opinion of him).

It's a lengthy read but I don't know who is sitting in a similar bus headed in a similar direction. It'll probably work out sooner or later. Just don't stop doing something legit. Anything.

Honestly I'm going through so much here. I'm losing it. I feel depressed, so much fear, unhappy and lonely. My husband's gambling habit has removed love and affection from our home.
He quickly finishes any money that comes to him. Either salary and anything in bet nija and concentrate on asking me for money. I'm have no job, I'm buy little things and resell. My capital is not even stable because all the financial expenses is on me. Yet he doesn't care. He keeps malice with me for not giving him money and not coming home to meet food.
This year, I have decided not to keep food for him so long as he can not bring money for feeding, for the children he claim he love and upkeep.
I've endure for too long and I'm getting fade up.

All my actions and his behaviour really makes me sad.
I have no love, respect for him.
I excessively worry for upkeep, school fees, bills, things we don't have at home. Everything is on me.
I'm so stressed and lonely. I feel I need a shoulder to rest on maybe to cry.
I'm so sad because our two sons are too attached to their father and I'm scared of their feelings if I decided to divorce their father

My first son wouldn't even go to bed until his father return back from work.

What did you do? How do people survive this kind of situations?

Are none of his parents alive? Does he not have any (elderly) God fearing person ( elders, in-laws, pastor, imam etc) that he respects or listen to?

You see, situation like this should be made open to one of such people or even your parents/elders if you are legally married but not in a way that would demonise the man - he is your husband.

Are you a Christian? Take it to God in prayer and fasting. I want to believe there was a time your marriage was sweet, even if there was not, go to God in repentance and surrender your life & family to Him. The hearts of kings are in God's hands not to talk of your husband.

I remembered my mum attending to a malnourished sick girl whose parent didnt bring to the hospital until she was in crisis, after trials and all the girl died and the mother wanted to start creating scenes in the clinic.. my mama knowing how patients can be like landed like four thunderous slaps across her face and the lady went dumb including everyone around. even patient wey dey coma for ICU open eye check wetin make the sound.

naso she take calm the situation o. so sometimes i feel the patients tends to be dramatic and try look for who to put the blame on just like an average nigerian. so once they sense panic in you, they will want to use you as scapegoat..
