loswhite: . when politicians like Dino flaunt numerous expensive cars on social media and the Efcc do not go arrest them and ask source of wealth or the marketable skills that they have...lol. There is alot the government can do. Afterall this nonsense started with their constant looting of the country. The refinery that would have created jobs and also reduce our Forex on fuel import is not working, Why? Someone is extremely rich as a result of those refinery not working even though it kills the value of the naira First of all, government is not in the business of employing people. Your post just shows that envy and jealousy is the root cause of internet fraud. There is no rule against flaunting wealth. If Dino doesn't flaunt his wealth, Davido, Psquare or even Mayweather would. What would you do about, go to their house to lynch them because they flaunt their wealth? How about we all sell our cars and start trekking so Yahoo boys can be happy that everyone is equal? The greedy fraudsters are thriving because Nigeria is too soft on them. Trust me, if the government is ready, most fraudsters will flee from Nigeria. They are not the first set of youths. Even students who schooled in extreme poverty back in the day did not become criminals to live above their means. There are a lot of artisan skills they can learn quickly to start making money. We have carpenters, bricklayers, drivers, and roadside mechanics that this "unemployed" youths can emulate. EFCC is just scratching the surface, the day of the Yahoo boys are coming. |

Officialgarri: And so fvck what?
I'm not a fan of child marriage or whatever, but I hate how this stupid imperialists always want to impose their way of life on us.
Centuries back, the hausas/fulanis have been marrying young girls and the culture lived on. It wasn't a danger to their religion rather it gave less room for being promiscuous
To them, Child bride is bad but they think Gay/lesbian is a normal way of life? How much of these neo-colonialism do we have to suffer all in the name of "modernization" The victims are the child being married not you, Mr. zombie. You don't remember your "culture" and love the "imperialists" when you want to criticize your political opponents. |

seunmsg: PDP is a party of hypocrites. If they agree with this judgement, they should have disagreed with the silly judgement that gave an illegal victory to Olujimi in Ekiti instead of ordering for a rerun.
The court of appeal should have a standard to follow as far as election petition is concerned. They cannot cancel the result of a local government in Ekiti as a result of violence and irregularities without ordering a rerun in the council while cancelling the result a local government council in Akwa Ibom for the same reason and ordering a rerun in the affected local government.
What is good for Akwa Ibom should be good for Ekiti. The judiciary should not promote double standard. What is the point of agreeing or disagreeing with a judgment? It is not as if the court will reconvene because someone disagrees with their opinion. There is nothing wrong criticizing a judgment, but you should limit such criticism to the court and not some party who have no means to influence over a pronounced judgement. |

kunmiiii: Bad faith? Let's all take a breather and not jump into conclusions but I'd wager the reason why a lid was kept on the whole thing was to avoid the sensationalism that has been rife between the duo, however, not reaching a compromise with the VP didn't help matters. The motives behind the firing might be unclear but having over 80 aides is not something anyone should defend. The bold can't be true. Right from 2015, this government loves sensationalism that helps it look good to Nigerians. It will never have passed up an opportunity to show that it is against corruption or "wastage" by publicizing the pruning of "unnecessary" aides. The fact that the vice president's spokesperson was not aware of the sack or lied about it speaks volume. For an administration that has always used the media at any slight opportunity, keeping mum over this issue is a big red flag. |
Politics › Re: Presidency Confirms Sacking Of Osinbajo’s Aides by Xisnin(m): 5:22pm On Nov 08, 2019 |
kunmiiii: Well, certainly over 80 aides for any VP is way too much but it should have being handled with more tact and discretion. You said 80 aides are too much. Then why the need for discretion when the government is doing the right thing? We all know this government is fond of polishing its image through the media, the only reason the sack wasn't publicized is that it was done in bad faith. |
Politics › Re: Presidency Confirms Sacking Of Osinbajo’s Aides by Xisnin(m): 5:19pm On Nov 08, 2019 |
Kelvin30286063: I think some people are blowing this out of proportion. What is wrong in reducing the cost of government. The real question is what is Osinbajo (a vice president) doing with 80+ aids! Is it national assembly! I understand that Mr Buhari (he's not my president) is undermining the VP but if we want to put sentiment aside and look at this critically, having 85 aids is too much for one man! I know it's none of my business since they are not paying them directly from my account but anything to fake food off the tables of some pot belly thieves will always look good to me! Stop shifting the goal post Those aids are not redundant, they are doing specific work in the office of the vice president. Why were they denying the sack if it was done in good faith? Shouldn't the government be proud to announce such a move to bolster its image? It is obvious that the sack has nothing to do with efficiency. |

Deepfreezer: when last did u hear of an attack by terrorist? For the first time our poultry and rice farmers will sell their products this yuletide season without competition from Turkey, chelicken and kpomo smugglers from across the border. You have avoided my question. There have been several bandits attack since August, you are obviously not current. Kidnappers are still abducting people on the dangerous Abuja-Kaduna expressway. If by terrorists, you mean Boko haram, there have been several terrorist attacks since August when the border was closed. but you see this border closure has revived our economy and protected our nation in a way it has never been before. Your initial comment stated that our economy has been revived but you are making future projections here which means your comment was false. Even if we are to believe your future prediction. How does a lack of competition for less than 0.001% of Nigeria's population revive our economy? How does punishing 99.99% of Nigerians revive our economy? Even if you are one of those benefiting from the border closure, why should the price of your commodity increase because the border was closed? Aren't you being greedy and unpatriotic for inflating your price? What happens when the border is reopened(it will eventually happen)? Businesses that can't survive with competition shouldn't exist in the first place. |

ALL THOSE BENZ, LAPTOPS AND PHONES THEY STOLE FROM THOSE SUSPECTED YAHOO BOYS IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL!
THE WORST IS THEY EVEN GO AS FAR AS AUCTIONING THOSE CARS AND HOUSES - WHICH IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL!
THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO BADGE INTO ANY SUSPECTS HOME WITHOUT A SEARCH WARRANT ISSUED BY A COMPETENT COURT!
BUT NIGERIA IS A TOTALLY LAWLESS COWTRY WHERE IMPUNITY IS THE OTHER OF THE DAY!. Stop lying Yahoo boy. EFCC does not auction seized materials. Court convict and convert the properties to FG's own. Then they can be autioned. Using uppercase letter does not make your lie any more believable. |

OloladeWrites: You don't need to keep educating people like Xisnin on how activism is done. They think the moment you take your pen and write "Buhari is mad for closing borders" then you're a hero. Let him go and read about Activists (dead or alive) and how they've called out governments and organizations bigger than them, yet still praised by the public. Calling out is a nice thing but how you do it matters a lot. (even enemies respect their selves) Yet another keyboard warrior who wants to teach real activists the right way to "go about it". This particular hero does not live in fear like you do. He doesn't want to go about it your way. Come to think of it, you have supposedly read about activists both alive and dead, yet you have never stood for anything with your name and face attached. Worse still, you are angry that a student attempted to change the status quo. Isn't your alleged knowledge a waste? From your post, you actually know nothing about activism but you want to tell activists how to behave. FYI, there is no method to activism. |
