frozen70: If you think their daughter who got pregnanted by a beast is wicked ❓
Then the beast that pregnanted her is a devil He is only a beast/devil if he was a pedophile or rapist. A girl being pregnant doesn't automatically make her innocent. It is common sense for a person who has the most to lose to be more careful. |

frozen70: You got it very wrong
Unwanted pregnancy is as a result of those idiots that always take advantage of premature girls and pit them in a family way
Stigmatising them is like putting insult in injury
This is one area I love the yorubas they don't stigmatise their daughters when they get pregnant carelessly
That doesn't mean that her family is not discipline but it means that we can't disown you for this mistake but your life is important to the family
No one should stigmatise a young girl for being pregnant it's an act of mistake
I am not encouraging it either Unwanted pregnancy is not a mistake, it happens as a result of foolish risk taking. In most cases, nobody was taken advantage of because they are in similar age group. Even when the age difference is large, are you claiming that a girl old enough to get pregnant does not know that sex leads to pregnancy? As to the Yorubas you referenced, you are mistaking tolerance for acceptance. People who work with NGOs know better, even when the family accept such person, their lives don't remain the same. Some families are struggling to survive only for one wicked daughter to add to their burden. |

I wonder how foolish Nigerians can be? Ignorance is a big disease.
Who told you guys that palm oil is antidote for whatever poisoning one might have taken.
If at this stage we still have so many illiterates online,I wonder how Buhari might feel when he gets to know majority are like him.
On no account should you use Palm oil as antidote for any poison. The best is to take the person to any nearest hospital as fast as you can. Apparently not as foolish and ignorant as you are. |

FroshJaynex: how old are you? if u don mature well for life you'd know some pregnancy are blessings in disguise. I was a young boy when I got a girl pregnant, got rejected but guess what on the night the boy was born I got a call that changed my life till date and now his living well. If I had followed my emotions and others around me I'd have aborted it thinking I wasn't ready. God doesn't give you what u don't deserve or cnt control, Always trust in him regardless. You obviously still reason like a kid. Some people drive when drunk and don't have accident. Some people push drugs, become rich and are never caught. Some chronic alcoholics never get their liver damaged. Would you advise your kid to adopt any of the lifestyle above since some people never suffer consequence for their poor life decisions. |

Our society should continue to stigmatize unwanted pregnacy to prevent generational poverty and crime. |

Dannyset: The bolded is the close to best opinion anyone in Nigeria can use as an excuse not support the bill for now. The DSP opinion of frustrating the use of electric cars is very shallow as one would expect a top lawmaker for that matter to know more about the environment now. Countries that produce more oil than Nigeria are already legislating the use of these cars and looking beyond oil for revenue. What a pity!
And the twitter warrior that sponsored this bill at this time, with our level of underdevelopment is just clever by half. Hes fund of doing the right thing at the wrong time.
We are lost! Ekweremadu is right and Ben Bruce is not attuned to Nigeria's reality. High-income countries are the ones legislating against fossil fuel. They can afford to go without it. Bruce bill is capable of disintegrating Nigeria. |

stagger: By stealing from the national cake, abi? That's your idea of taking risks? Stealing from a country's communal purse? That's why God Himself brought down GEJ. The man was just sitting there and superintending over a den of thieves who were just looting brazenly.
The only problem I have with PMB is his ethno-religious bigotry and lack of direction in turning around our economy. Looting is not his thing. If this man was stealing as you claimed, he won't have the need to borrow $3 million dollars, let alone go broke due to his company's failure. Wealth can never be created by saving small change. It requires taking a big risk like this man has done. And some people will remain in poverty forever because they don't understand this. They think any non-poor is a thief. Of course, this man lost, but he still took the risk and he will still take more in the future. |

abbey621: Lol.....You apparently are ignorant! We actually agree here, enforcement in Nigeria is lacking hence the reason most people default. With regards to your last statement, many criminals are roaming about because enforcement and the justice system is inept, this does not take away from the fact that they are criminals. E.g- Mob bosses, yahoo boys, embezzlers etc. They may be criminals to laypeople but not to the law. You claim that criminals have no right, that is a lie. Real criminals still retain most of their rights even after conviction. As to those "roaming about", they weren't arrested, charged or convicted, so they are not criminals. What you displayed here is the mentaility of SARS who kill people based on mere suspicion. |

abbey621: In advaced countries, if you don't pay taxes while eligible, you're a criminal. Criminals end up in jail, criminals have no voting rights, criminals are never taken seriously in political discourse. You can't criticize the governemnt's ineptness towards the economy while sabotaging the economy by not paying your fair share. You apparently never left your village. In advanced countries, the tax agencies actively monitors tax defaulters and charge them accordingly. They don't wait for political comment, neither do they rely on people's goodwill before taking action. It is just like a landlord complaining of not receiving rent without taking any action, such landlord must be a fool. You also missed your civic classes, nobody is a criminal until pronounced so by a court. |
