You want to know why God did not immediately destroy Stephanie Otobo last year when she came to lie against an innocent man? It's simply because of love. God the all powerful is slow to anger and judgement and he gives the wicked a long time for them to repent. but when people take God's love and patience for granted, they end up in destruction after God's patience runs out on them. This is the only reason why atheists are still alive on this planet and wasting God's free oxygen while denying the existence of God whose oxygen they consume |

Too much story coming from you, unless you were there. Regarding filming, some people are so addicted to their phone, they even record their own deaths, so that means nothing. A lot of people will fight with whatever they have going down. Enough of this, let the court settle this. Mup4life: FUNNYdude try to watch the video again.
The door of the drivers seat was OPENED.
The driver left his car keys in the ignition, how is this sane for someone who has the mind of raping a girl?
If a girl collected my Car key it is only right for me to get it back with force if she is not co- operating
He asked her to come down st the point of entry dhe REFUSED.
There was no terror going through her mind, she was not even scared because she was still insulting the driver. Her voice was very calm try talking when you are terrorised and see if you can be that calm.
We are talking about LIFE and DEATH and she was busy filming instead of screaming for HELP.
What was dhe doing when he was driving her towards his house? if dhe was in danger she would have used the pepper sprsy earlier while he was driving her to his house.
And JUST use your brain WOULD YOU LEAVE A RAPE OR KIDNAP TARGET IN YOUR CAR WHILE YOU GO AND OPEN A GATE? KNOWING FULLY WELL YOU LEFT THE DOOR OPEN AND THE KEY REMAINED IN THE CAR? |

Smart niggur! The moment I saw the video, I knew she's now lying to repair Suleiman's image and get paid in return, but unfortunately, many will fall for the drama. hopefulLandlord: I have a feeling a huge amount of cash has moved from Suleiman's hands to Otobo's and this charade was put up as closure to the whole brouhaha; This is best for all parties concerned
1. Otobo comes out of this richer, good business
2. Suleiman loses some money but would gain even more following from this as he's "vindicated" which in turn leads to more income so the money he paid Otobo might be insignificant on the long run; good business
3. The sheeples trust their pastor more and raise their tithe to 30% like Suleiman reportedly raised his to (who does he tithe to? well..... cough cough)
4. Pastor haters would be disappointed
5. (some) Atheists simply ask the question, why couldn't Holy Spirit reveal the truth of the matter to the congregation? to all Christians? cuz many Christians were of the opinion Suleiman is guilty while many were of the opinion that he's innocent and all of them claim to have Holy spirit that reveals "Truth" to them

The answer I give you will determine my maturity? Are you insane or something around that? Do I sound like someone you can use emotional blackmail on? Lol! If you were a driver, and your rider refuse to give you her destination in that time of the day, fine you decided not to go again and told her to come down but she bluntly refuse, When you both are still at her pick up location.
What would you do? Wait for her because you are jobless or what?
Also bear in mind that she started making calls giving location where you people are and still speaking in a language you don't understand.

First, She couldn't possibly do that in an area she didn't know at almost 1.am, a place that could be kidnappers/ritualist den. 2. The driver probably used central lock and she couldn't get out even if she wanted to. 3. It could be that she saw opportunity to honk or drive the car to safety since the man got out, reason she launched towards the dashboard, before he started dragging her. Coupled with the terror that was going through her mind at that moment. The fact that we are discussing this way shows Nigeria is already in dog's belle. What a country! May heaven rain hot coals on those that put Nigeria together lumping humans with animals and those that are still forcing it to stay together down to their children and to the generation unborn. schumastic: If you agree to that part, then just one ? I have for you.
Why didn't she come down and go back home to make another request?
Why didn't she come down from his car and hand over his car key to him?
She had every opportunity to run but she chose not to, instead wanted to teach the guy a lesson, which she eventually did with this story of hers. But I tell you, the truth will always set one free. In this case who ever is innocent would be set free and the false accuseer will face worst things in life. |

Wow! So refreshing!! Totally thought provoking! Though it's been hell to pay here with tribal bashing, in honesty I never saw any hatred from Igbos till I came to nairaland and I've asked myself maybe it happened but I overlooked it or something. You are also in the minority. I don't hate Igbos and with my takeaway from this, I just wish we can be civil with each other. Neatboy: This is the hardest sentence to make: I am sorry. And this is the most common sentence that humans have used for centuries to deceive each other: I Love You. I have been on Nairaland for years now and I have never criticized any ethnic nationality. My both parents are Igbos. Seriously, I have gotten education and I truly know its essence. As long as we didn't create ourselves. As long as we didn't choose our ethnic groupings-- we just found ourselves in a divide. As long as when an Igbo man dies he will not be buried in the air but in the ground like other people. If a Yoruba man is involved in a plane crash that kills all, he won't be exempted because he's a Yoruba man. He would definitely perish alongside the other nationals. To me, there is nothing special about being a Yoruba man or being an Igbo man, because both grow old, live, and perish. I see life entirely differently. There are things that we don't have power over. If so, then lets stop acting like God seek our opinion before putting us in that family or tribe. For instance, two years ago I saw an Hausa young man at Iyanoba, Lagos, carrying over ten big watermelons. It was so heavy that I almost wept when I saw the way he was even struggling to take a step. Immediately I started wondering, and started asking myself, if God had created me in the family of a Fulani herder what would have become of me? If I had not seen myself in a community that places high value on education what would I have done? I could have been the one carrying these watermelons. There is nothing special about me except that I have Christ in me. I have seen great people with titles and with academic excellence dying like chickens. They fall sick, bedridden, and die yet with all the qualifications. That is why I still wonder why people take irrelevant issues serious--- Like arguing which tribe is more beautiful. Which tribe eats good food more. Which tribe is more resourceful or industrious. These only whip up sentiment, ego and superiority complex.
So, from the bottom of my heart I love Yorubas. I love them with their faults and I love my own people with their faults too. I have Igbo friends that had disappointed me but it never made me say all Igbos are a disappointment. I have Yoruba friends that had also done same. But I don't see it as a Yoruba problem but as human problem because it is common. |

Hmmm! You wonder why Nigeria is screwed? Even if all parts of Nigeria are not shithole, at least some parts definitely are. Like onions in cabbages, the ila orun region of Nigeria is a super duper double shithole in sinkhole! Or what do you call people who make excuses for rapist/kidnapper/ritualist? hanassholesolo: Yeah, if people don't act/react the exact way you've suggested, then there must be more to the story. I forgot that all these suggestions are the standard way to react to such a confusing situation, it's not like people have their own unique way of responding to a crisis! Solid reasoning there. Yeah, when in a possible kidnapping situation, call the drivers employer (whose number you must have because you're so well connected and know everyone. Or you can call Taxify i'm sure they'll send a chopper filled with rescuers right away) You can also can also call someone for help, like maybe your friends? i'm sure they'll leave whatever hustle they've got agoing on, get on a car, track her using the latest GPS technology (which they all happen to have by the way) and engage in a high speed pursuit (vroom! vrooom!) just like in the movies, Sounds very doable in Nigeira.
or you can also call the infamous Nigerian police and watch how they'll track your cell phone and then dispatch units to intercept your "supposed" kidnapper ...do you even listen to yourself. Calling the Nigerian police, lmfao.
I want to go on but i'm tired. |

When a thief is caught, he first talks about his innocence. Who is a better friend to ritualists than midnight taxi drivers. Women's right now or remain silent forever. eyinjuege: The main question that should be asked is why he took her to a strange destination. That's kidnapping. It doesn't matter if she didn't run out of the car (in a strange place in the dark), or she didnt scream long enough, or she was wearing clothes that exposed her body or whatever. What was his intent? Who's house did he take her to? Was he planning to rape and kill her? Was he planning to use her for rituals? Why did he take her to an unknown destination? That is an offence punishable by life in prison or even death if something had happened to her.
She called a taxify which ideally should be safe enough to carry her to her destination. Apparently she's going somewhere by 12 midnight. Its nobody's business why she is out by 12midnight. The taxi should have simply taken her to where she wanted to go or simply not picked her up at all. Why did he divert the journey? That could have also happened in broad daylight btw. Okada riders, bus drivers and even taxi drivers have been known to take their passengers to unknown destinations to steal, rape or even kill them. That's the advantage uber and taxify services offer as they can be traced live and are safer than other means. This is very easy. Taxify must have a record of her call for a taxi, and they know who went to pick her. She claimed he decided to go offline when he got there . It will be in their system if that's true. That raises another question, why was he offline when he had a customer with him? Its either he was trying to stiff taxify or do a crime towards his customer. Either way, it doesnt look good for him. |

You can't burrow something and give it a different name, so shush your nonsense. Again Agbada is exclusively Yoruba, name and style, end of story. What's ibos traditional wear that others can wear, nothing, you only burrow, you have nothing to give to the world. The convoluted epistle isn't going to help you. Yoruba wears are iconic world over. What is yours? Obi1kenobi: That is exactly the point I made but you have a comprehension problem. The word "agbada" is a Yoruba word. It doesn't mean it was invented by Yorubas. They simply slightly (very slightly) modified a cotton kaftan attire that tribes throughout West/Sahelian Africa have been rocking for several generations before it ever got to Yoruba land through Hausa and Fulani merchants that were already wearing the babariga which the so-called "agbada" copied from. So trying to use the agbada as some evidence of your unique civilization is nonsensical. The Arabs brought it to Africa and it was copied by the Maghrebis/Berbers from whom tribes in Sahelian Africa like the Malian and Songhai empires brought it to sub-saharan Africa, from where the Hausas/Fulanis copied it and then the Yorubas copied it from Hausa-Fulanis. Different tribes simply applied their own artistic variations on the kaftan and you're here chest-beating about nothing. We had no early version of the kaftan because South Eastern tribes had little historical contact with Northerners/Muslims. The cotton material is also not native or conducive to be cultivated in the equatorial and humid tropics of the Eastern region.

The word 'Agbada' is exclusively Yoruba. No other tribe in Africa wear Agbada except Yoruba and you know it. Hausa of Nigeria and Fulani of wherever don't have or called anything Agbada just something similar but totally different. Yoruba are a complete people unlike you who have nothing to give to the world. We have Agbada, they have Babariga. We have fila, they have Hula. And we have Aso oke and Ashantis have Kente. Yoruba represent well in all what it take to be a nation, we didn't burrow anything from anyone except Christianity/Islam but we still have our own religion. Obi1kenobi: You do know that what you call "agbada" is not native to Yoruba land? The only authentic thing is the Yoruba name and minor difference in design to what is obtainable in West and Sahelian African countries like Mali and Senegal from where it actually originated and had been won for over a century before it got to you. What you call Agbada today was brought to Yoruba land by Fulanis and Hausa merchants who in-turn were influenced by the Songhai and Malian empires cotton outfits, and who in turn were influenced by North African/Arab attire. Sometime in the 20th century, Yorubas simply made their variation of it and it was popularized through the "owambe" culture. You didn't "invent" the agbada. You copied it.
But you can continue deceiving yourself with your supremacist bullshiit. |
