See man, I gave you an honest and practical analysis of what we normally spent on raising each broiler. I could also see that you're not a business minded person. How do you know it's on paper when you've not done it before? Tell me a business that is not involve risk? Besides, what do you mean by 'going through all that stress because of 100 gain'? I pity you! Guys are making millions through the so called #120 profit/bird, and you're here claiming big boy. Tell me the names of Hatcheries that currently sell 250/bird?

I do other businesses, and I can tell you there's no businesses on earth that's devoid of risks. And let me make a clear correction on the misconception about Broiler bird. Broilers are as strong as any other bird if you take proper care of them. Good hygiene and a well ventilation PEN is the main secret of this business.

And please make your explanation a realistic one.

Broiler DOC prize is varies and not stable. It also depends on nearest to festive period. I don't know about others but the highest we ever paid for broiler DOC is 200/bird.

A well feed Broiler can reach an average life body weight of 2kg between 6-7 weeks of age especially if your feed is very reach in nutrients.

You can get a 25kg bag of broiler's feed(starter, grower or finisher) from local feed mills for as low as 2000 - 2300. And a broiler requires about 3.5 -4kg of feed to reach the said weight(2kg or above). Now let assume you get your own 25kg bag of feed at 2500, that means a bird will eat #400 worth of feed within this period.

Feed #400+DOC #200+ drugs and others #40. TOTAL #640. You sell it #760 (2kg). 760-640=120. You make more profit if you can get cheaper DOC between #90- 170 and if you're able to formulate your feed with less than the prize stated above.

Broiler is 200 percent better because, before a cockerel reach a market weight probably by 5months - 1year, you would've make a several turnover in broiler business.

also, in terms of diseases outbreak, you can't compare the birds you keeps for just few weeks with the one you keeps for months. The risk is quite higher in the later.

People are always saying broilers pays off cos you can sell a mature broiler chicken for N2,500, but you have to buy 3-4weeks broilers for N500, and you spend a lot in feeding them. But Cockerel ig 4 weeks sells for N150, and you can sell the matured one for N1,500. So, which one really pays?

Broilers is far better than cockerel. Even if you're selling it to the processor, you get back your investment capital and profits within 7 weeks.

Though most processor buy it 380/kg but you can still make a profit of noting less #120/bird if your birds can attain 2kg within this period.

@op, I think a 2nd NO is enough for a guy to move on. Some girls will say No and later accept you especially if you ignore her for a while after the 1st NO.

I dated this girl when I was in school,she said NO the first time I wooed her, and when we got to 300L, I used another strategy on her and she open yah legs without me even say the same story again.

I read somewhere that the presence of complicating pathogens in birds, mainly mildly pathogenic avian influenza viruses (MPAI) and infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), could cause mild outbreak of Newcastle and mortality after routine Lasota. Gumboro/Lasota are such complicated drugs one should be very careful when giving them to the birds. You may apply the following steps(if you're not already aware) next time.

1. Give them early in the morning(very important)

2. The birds must finish drinking it before the sunset(within 3hours).

3. Give them Multivitamin a day before and immediate after.

4. Ensure the drinkers are thoroughly washed before giving them multivitamin.

5. Don't give it to the sick birds.

With the above, I'm 100 percent sure you won't lose a single bird.
